Hi, i'm not a first time success story but i just had to reply to this topic as FET was the way we went.
I, like a previous poster didn't get to transfer fresh embies as they collected 22 eggs from me and i was at risk of OHSS. I had to wait a few months for my body to settle down then went on to FET. My clinic let me do a natural FET as my periods were regular which meant i didn't have to take any drugs at all, they just done bloods every other day from day 10 to look for the surge then a couple days later they transfered the embies. My doctor said just to carry on as normal after the transfer but not to overdo it like go bungee jumping or anything like that

. I took the day after transfer off and went back to work the following day. After about a week i started cramping and 5 days before my test date i started bleeding heavy and just knew it hadn't worked. Unfortunately when i was tested on my test date it confirmed the negative.
We tried again the following month. I started cramping again after a week and i was sure it was going to be negative as everything i felt was exactly the same as my previous negative cycle. So when 5 days before test day came and i wasn't bleeding but still cramping bad i decided to do a sneaky test at home. Just seconds after i done it i really regretted it because i knew it was too early to test, but to my complete amazement the test came up with a faint positive. I done 4 more tests over the next few days and each one was positive. The clinic finally confirmed it for us. The only thing i done different was take a week off work after the transfer, i didn't have any bed rest, carried on doing normal everyday housework etc, i'm not sure if taking the time off helped or not but i think i was less stressed being home.
Our gorgeous daughter Kady is almost 7 months old now and is our pride and joy.
I just thought i would share my positive story with you all, FET does work. My clinic actually had a higher success rate with FET's over a fresh cycle.
So my advice is just carry on as normal, and do what you feel is best for you after the transfer, if you will feel less stressed going to work, then go but if you feel it will be more stressful then take some time off, a few days, a week or even the whole 2 weeks. I found a week was enough for me. My last piece of advice is just because you are cramping and feel like your period will start doesn't mean it is a negative result, i felt exactly that way on both cycles so in my case feeling periody and early pregnancy symptoms were identical.
I just want to finish up by wishing all you upcoming FETers all the best luck in the world.
Take care,
Lotsa love
Michelle
