Do's & Don't when pregnant !

Post by Sita »

Hi Girls,

I just found out that I am pregnant and am so excited. :D

Do you have any recommendations for Do's and Don'ts now that I have passed the two week wait ? I know that there is a thread on the General forum, but I think this is more related to the 2WW.

Did most of you go to work for the first 12 weeks ? This pregnancy is so precious and I am keen to take as much precaution as possible.

Will appreciate your help and advise.

Many thanks,
Sita

Dear Smita, Vicky and Praying,

Thank you for your best wishes and tips.

I am able to work from home on some days. My boss is quite good but as this is a precious pregnancy I am keen to take all the precautions possible. I spoke to my GP today and he mentioned that he could sign me off if I feel bad after the first scan.

Praying, I do remember you mentioning that this time was going to work. I also remember being very positive after you said it. How were you able to predict ? I am amazed...

Thank you for all your support and encuragement girls. As per Vicky's suggestion I think I will join the 1st Trimester girls.

Love,
Sita

Hi,
Congratulations. I know this is a very exciting time.
I just carried on as normal when i was pregnant. I worked in a frozen food store and done all my normal duties, i lifted boxes, bent over freezers to restock them, climbed on top of them to fill the shelves, stood at the checkout for hours on end (well, in between running to the loo to throw up or pee, some of the symptoms i don't miss  ).
But it got a bit harder as my belly got bigger and was in the way but i just done what i could and carried on working until 3 weeks before my due date. I felt carrying on as normal was the best thing for me.
Working and doing my normal duties certainly didn't do any harm, Kady was a very healthy weight when born and is now a 6 1/2 month old cheeky wee monkey
The only advice i can give is just do what you feel is best for you, you will know how you feel about things better than anyone.
If you feel you want to stay home, then stay home. If you want to work, then work.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
Take care,
Lotsa love

Michelle
