Sophia - AF stands for "Aunt Flow". Just something someone nicknamed it. Aunt Flow - you either love her or hate her. Some really want her to visit and others do not. By the way, what is flamenco? I hope we are on the same cycle. That would be great to have a 2ww buddy. I think I used the Ticker for an event, and put in your next goal.

SS..... ME TOO!!!
i have been really constpated, went to accu which helps a %^&$load, but I was so worried too about straining, so I am hoping it doesn't do any harm...
the accu lady told me not to eat any cold tthings, no salads , ice, anything cold, the body needs warmth right now, steamed veggies, soups etc etc. and tea. I also put a heating pad on my tummy last night and it seemed to help alot I was finally able to go this morning! been really bloated and sore still from ER. but trying to lay lw and recoop. also quiet walks is a good way to get things moving about and to keep us sane during these 2ww. I am testing the 24th, very excited. and scared.

someone asked what to do to keep sane during these 2 weeks.
I am a super active person and for me to just be is hard, but i find taking a leisurly walk in the am helps me settle. paint my nails read a book, just be good to myself for the next 2 weeks especially.
hard but all for that BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ange- hang in there sweetie i am with you!

hey thanks for the reply

Bec-
i have read crazy things about this subject that are scary i did an outside searh, a lady said that the embryo are floating for about 48-72? hrs so we have to be careful, no cold things? really? i never heard that one i didn't do nothing crazy on my 1st ivf and got BFP i rest for about 2 days and then normal activities but yes no lifting it was the most important thing but still worry a bit about the straining hopefully everything is ok... You are testing on the 24 me too well that is the dte they have for me but i think i will go after christmas...!!! will see.
Bec any symptoms?

Any one with Advise on this "issue" ??

Oh no I am falling behind! Welcome Sofie you are going to love it here.
TWW's good luck and sticky baby dust to you all. PMA ladies PMA!

I have a quick question that is going to sound way off the wall. Do you think it is possible that after a sperm aspiration (keep in mind DH had a vescetomy) to get a natural BFP? I am asking because I am having the worst hot flashs and cold streaks and nausea ever. I am not sure if this is just a wicked side effect of the YAZ BCP though. I haven't felt like this since I was pregnant with my daughter. ( I was on BCP then too!)
AHHHHHHHHHH this is just weird

SS - 1st IVF, I had constipation after ER that got worse after ET. I called the DR and they told me to take Collace. It is a gentle laxative. They said that anithesia (sp?) and pain medicine can cause this. They told me to difinitely not strain. Drink plenty of water and juices. DH picked me some up that very night. Things were much better the next day.

Welcome Sophie: I totally understand you wanting your AF to come. My suggestion... Have sex. My friend was having the same thing and that seemed to move things along. Who knows but its worth a try! :) For the tickerfactory choose event and then you can do it any date.

Jaby: Good Luck!! I will be thinking about you!

Ange: 4 step daughters!! Wow its like the Brady Bunch! Well I hope all 4 take! I cant wait to hear! I will be joining you on the 2ww on Sat!

SS: Glad your snow babies survived and everything went great! Ill be 2 days behind you on the 2ww. Glad that this is helping you deal with things with your father. It was meant to be. Take Care.
TC: Wow I dont know if it possiable for the natural conception but I would just love to hear you are preggers!

I am soooo glad someone else brought up the constipation! I had THE WORST EVER this week. I thought I was going to die! It finally passed lastnight. My dr said it was the pain killers.

Take Care All

Just to avoid confusion; my name is Sophie, it's only my nickname that's Sophia. ;)

Thanks for explaining AF to me; it seems to be quite widespread on forums! I'm really looking forward to have a little chat with her again this month! A very short chat, in fact! :P

Flamenco is a dance form that has its origins in Spain, but has Arabic and Jewish roots as well. Contrary to what most people think, it's not always about big fluffy multicoloured skirts and it's not always danced in couples (though the form most people think about is Sevillanas; that one is danced in couples). In flamenco, each form has its own compas (or basic rhythm) and meaning. Buleria, for example, means "joke" and is a livelier form. Alegria, which means "joy", is very joyful as well. Solea, which means "solitude" or "alone", is more meditative and dark. It's really hard to put in words. But it's a beautiful, graceful, and very challenging dance. If you want to see a good performance, go on YouTube, type "buleria", click on page 4 and check the last video on that page (it's called Festival in the Park and there's a dancer wearing a brown dress on the video image).

Thanks for your help with the Ticker; I made my own!

And last, I DO hope we'll be on the same cycle. Even if my AF (see, I'm learning!) has not paid me a visit yet, I can still estimate that I'll start the Puregon around Jan. 11th... do you have the same dates, more or less? my cycle involves Marvelon (BC pill), then Lupron, Pen-Puregon, then HcG plus ER, and then Progesterone pearls. Keep me posted sweetie.

ssalgado:

It might not help right away, but I got this trick from a pregnant friend who had LOTS of constipation problems. She put a big handful of flax seeds in her morning cereals. She said it will not un-constipate you, but it will help you go (ahem, less pushing involved).

Cheers!

Sophie

 thanks for the tip sokru8! I'm already a big fan of having regular orgasms to shorten AF's visit, so I'll apply the same thing for the exact opposite reason this time!

*runs to car and hurries back home... oh no wait... hubby-bubby's at Xmas party with co-workers till 9pm... mmmh... more time to prepare, then! yay!*

Cheers!

Hi ladies, just a quick update - and WELCOME SOPHIE!..
had the follow up and we can do a fresh cycle in the New Year (and keep our 3 remaining frosties as a back up).

I am pleased and already feel strong enough to tackle this again. As expected doc used "it's really a numbers game" grrr ! but said he still thought our prognosis was good. He's not a fan of the testing of embyos as it's very expensive, you risk losing good ones in the process so as we've only had 2 attempts, we should give it another go. Guess I have to trust him..............

Apprarently the OHSS before I had was good sign as it means I can still respond well to the stims.

So we'll go again in the new year - it's pretty much up to us when as I don't get regular AF's, I'll just take some primolut to bring it on and off we'll go.

So we'll take a bit of break over Christmas and then start the drugs.

Good luck to the 2 ww'ers - the list is looking great. I am looking forward to your BFP's - it is statistically impossible for there to be any more BFN's! Go girls!
