Bec - YIPPIE!!!! I am so excited for you &DH. Another BFP!!!

Been keeping up with the posts, but DH went to ER yesterday. He was v jaundice & biliruben was v high. Yep, he was admitted & we have spent Christma eve in the hospital. DH is still yellow but they let him come home for Christmas. Drs. Think that it could have been an allergic reaction to an antibiotic.

Welcome to the newbies!!

Will post more to those i missed.

HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Good morning ladies!

Oh, it's been such a long time I've been here and I've missed you so much! DH and I travelled with our cat and our dog and a ton of gifts to Quebec city (felt like we were moving... and we still don't have babies yet!) and have been here for three days now. I did not really have access to the computer before now. Everybody is still sound asleep... except my dog of course! I took her for a walk, fed her and the cat, and then sneaked into the office to get here before my sisters or brother kidnap the computer! :)

Charlie: Welcome sweetie! :D You live in a WONDERFUL country that I miss very, very much! I can't wait to go there again one of the next times we visit my in-laws (DH is French; in-laws live in Le Mans). You'll see that the lovely ladies here will be there to help you through the rough moments and share your joy during the happy ones! Don't hesitate to give us news as often as you wish! As for my cycle, I'll be almost on the same timing as you. I MIGHT have an ER on Jan 25th. We'll probably do the 2ww together! What meds will you be taking?

Ange: Oh, how true... the circle of life... as a new life comes on this plane, another leaves for another plane... I'm sorry to hear about your uncle passing away. Were you and him close? Xmas will surely be strange without your father, especially knowing that he will be grieving. You have all my sympathy. And well, as for the symptoms... careful what you wish for, dear! Wait until a couple of weeks after morning sickness comes in! Not sure you'll wish for symptoms that much after that! ;) But I know what you mean... for now, rely on those lovely test results! You'll feel pregnant soon enough my dear! *hugs*

Shantala: could not help but take a sneak peek at your wedding pics! You look LOVELY! :)

mom: tee hee hee... celebrating, are we? We'll try not to post too loud until you recover... ;)

tc: wow, what crappy symptoms to feel right before the Xmas celebrations! Ew! And it's really too bad that it isolated you from your family on such a day! How are you feeling today?

Aunty: Hello there! :D I'm not sure I completely agree with your opinion about stress. I have some knowledge in psycho-neuro-immunology. Anxiety and stress affect many hormones and neurotransmitters, cortisol being one hormone among many. Granted, stress itself cannot be pointed as the sole cause of cancer, for example (I inwardly roll my eyes each time a patient shows up in my office at the hospital and blames his/her relationship with his/her dad for his/her cancer! and of course that's all they want to talk about!). But it should still be recognized as an important contributing factor in some other health conditions. For example, I've read a fascinating study about the impact of stress on healing wound time. They made identical superficial wounds on the inside of the arms of subjects who were taking care of a very sick partner (chronic) and on a group who was not facing that kind of stress. The wounds of the chronically stressed group took 24% more time to heal than in the other group. And this is only one tiny example among many. Stress has an empirically supported impact on the immune system. Took a decade for doctors to accept it, but it's been recognized in the '80. So I do believe that stress is a contributing factor (though NOT the only one); it's the "it's because you want it too much" factor that's been proven wrong. My two cents!

babyblue: oh my, sorry to read that your DH was admitted in the hospital! a jaundice? Is he prone to that kind of thing? I hope he's feeling better, and I'm glad the docs there let him be home for Xmas! I wish him to get better soon!

Lisag: CONGRATULATIONS! WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO! A BFP! You must be overjoyed! I wish you a happy pregnancy dear!

bec: BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!BFP!!I was so anxious, reading the posts I had missed during my absence... and I kept hoping to see yours! This is AMAZING! You've been such a great example of calmness! Oh, it was your turn this time!!!! And you've waited for so long! *jumps up and down* I'm very HAPPY for you sweetie, and I wish you a wonderful Xmas time with your loved ones, who now know as well from what you wrote; I hope they pamper you non stop for the next 8 months! And about these numbers... are you hoping for twins?

And I don't remember who asked... but I'll start Lupron on Jan 3rd.

Lots of love to the rest of you, big hugs, and a MERRY MERRY XMAS!

Thanks for all the congratulations.

SSalgado Good Luck for your test.

When I told my 5 year old daughter this morning she said 'thats good, have i got anymore presents to open? and that was the first and last mention of it!!

Although my first pregnancy was natural and I had no problems at all, I feel a bit more apprehensive about this one.

I will keep positive and not read too much into aches and pains as a lot of people tend to. I have been looking on the positive pregnancy section and most are quite paranoid. I am a great believer in what will happen will happen, I will do my best to prevent anything bad happening by doing all the things that Im supposed to, beyond that is out of my control.

I am going to contact the hospital on Wednesday to see if I can go in for a blood test cause this will make it more real for me. They say that HPT are 99% certain buts theres always that 1%!

MERRY CHRISTMAS :D

Love

Lisag,

I think your attitude is the best you can have under the circumstances. I've been told by an IVF preggie that once you get that BFP, a whole different kind of stress settles in. I figure that when it's your first pregnancy, you're doubly paranoid because it's difficult to know what feels normal... not to mention how different one pregnancy can be from another!

What has to happen will happen, you're entirely right. And that's what I'll try to remember the most during my 2ww and after. As I discussed with a friend, taking it easy during the 2ww is great, but taking it too easy (i.e. stop living for those two weeks and stop eating chocolate or ice cream and so on) just in case the implantation might not work might just postpone an eventual miscarriage. If these embies are strong enough to survive, they'll survive. They're not supposed to be any lesser quality than naturally conceived embryos, and those do just fine through the first three months even if mothers exercise, have sex, and so on. That's exactly what my doctor told me; take it easy for those two days, but after that, do as you please as long as you act pregnant because after all, millions of women became pregnant naturally while carrying on with their life before they even did a pregnancy test and realized they had a bun in the oven.

Sorry for the rambling... but I mostly try that to hammer it into my head so I don't freak out after that ET. The point is... you did it sweetie! :D You give me a lot of hope and I'm really happy for you!

Happy Holidays,

Sophie
