Trans, good luck with that.

Fed, I have told my husband that him giving me the injections would make the process involve us and not just me, but in truth, is because I am a wimp and cannot imagine sticking the needle in myself, lol. I am not afraid of needles and they do not hurt me, but the thought of me missing or sticking my finger... nah! I am proud of you for doing it!

Sassy, this is our first time trying IVF. We have been unoffically trying for 3 years, but we have been offically trying since May of 2005. I have a uterus with one functioning/ attached/unclogged fallopian tube. I also have a hole in my peritoneum and sever endomeriosis, with the possiblity of PCOS... So we figure the odds are against us.

Hey ladies

uuhhh, lots happening...

charlie - yes, lupron is for downregging. everyone is different and uses different methods so thats why it gets confusing. i'd love to have just the one injection!! others have lots of daily injections and i will have a nasal spray to use 3x a day.

ems - let us know when you've had your blood results today. how cool if you can start stimms on monday.

bec - nice to hear from you lady!! cant wait to hear about your US on thursday! aahh, i'm so excited!!

jem - hope the high-tech planes have made some progress. yes, its my first ivf....i bet your dr didnt like it! ah well, he'll get over it! :D

ange - you got me all worried about the prog shots now!! ok, ice it will be then! thanks for the tip!

beachbaby - woohoo for next wednesday then. a new car and becoming a pin cushion!! :D

aunty - so sorry you;re not well. i hope you're feeling a bit better and that its only a 24 hour thing! did you manage to go for your us and bloods today?? i love the ovarian vacation!!

lara - glad you're feeling better! in-laws for 2 weeks!? blimey!! i see what you mean about trying to keep the fet a secret, i guess that will be hard. thinking of you.

jodic - woohoo for starting stimms and cant wait to hear about your us on sunday.

amc - 13th, thats not far away at all (although i'm sure it doesnt feel like that for you)...cant wait to hear about your BFP!!!! (how was the FET?)

jaby - any news?? cant wait to hear about your us!!

charity - good luck with your baseline.

fed - so glad your first injection was ok. is this your first? (sorry, its so hard to remember)

jordan - great to hear from you and glad your numbers are going up. keep us posted!

angie - natural AF symptoms, eh?? think this one is meant to be! and thannx for the encouraging words for the first time ivfers.

as for me - i had a look on the link that sophie posted on here (thanks!) and one of the tips was to buy a diabetic care kit in which you can store your meds and it has extra stuff in like alcohol wipes, etc. i thought that was a good idea so i can take meds if i'm not at home. i then realised that we still had a similar kit left from our honeymoon, which had needles and stuff in so i'll keep that handy. i did get the needles out and have a look and came over all nauseous.... i'm so scared. but i'm sure i'll get over the scare somehow!! lol.

hope everyone else is ok.

Thanks everyone for your kind words! I was pretty nervous to do the shot, first I wanted my husband to do it, then I wanted to do it, final decision was let my husband do it. I figure he needs to feel more involved and knowing me I would shake so bad the needle will never make it in.

wishing everyone a good day got to get back to work now!

Good morning ladies!

Look at this thread! So active! it's amazing! I hope all you guys are doing okay; I think we have a couple of new people here as well: WELCOME! :D You'll like it here! Those ladies rock!

Still doing well with the Lupron injections. I did two more and I was okay. It was really the first one that was the worst, because of my fear of the unknown. The funny thing is, the right side of my tummy seems a little more sensitive than the left! :? LOL go figure! Either way, the meds hurt a little bit after the injection, and throughout the day sometimes. Whether it's psychosomatic or not, I don't know, but sometimes I have the feeling that "something is there" under my skin, and sometimes it creates a little discomfort. But hey... other than feeling a little hot in the morning and having a slightly lighter sleep, I'm 100% fine. I'm actually in a very good mood! :D Yesterday I went to the hairdresser with my best friend... who showed up an hour late for her appointment! And I went there only for her, lol, because I got my hair and color done on Dec 23rd... she was in for a makeover; she loves it and so do I! :) It was so nice to spend the afternoon and evening with her (she came home with us for dinner... and The Office, and My Name is Earl... and Scrubs!)!

Aunty Sorry to read you're sick dear! :( And I'm glad you liked the ovarian vacation term, lol!

Jackie planning your ER on Monday? But that's wonderful! Is it your first (sorry, can't remember)? Are you nervous? Does it look like you'll have a lot of follicles? I'm happy for you, one more big step coming that brings you closer to your baby belly!

Cookholmes Hey, look at that, we started Lupron the same day! :) How are you doing with the shots? With you taking follitism on the 10th, from the name of the meds I conclude that you'll start stimming earlier than me. I'll start stimming on the 19th! So well, if it's the case, you get a shorter ovarian vacation than I! Good for you! ;) Keep me posted sweetie!

Shantala I'm glad the link was useful for you! Really, there are many nice little tips there that you can only know through experience... I'm also glad that my never-ending rant about my first injection was useful for you. I never know if I babble too much or not! Also glad you loved the "ovarian vacation" term; it made me giggle when I thought of it! How are you doing health wise?

Charlie I think what confuses you might be that you base your understanding on the administration mode of the meds and not on the name of the meds (no matter what way it's administered, some meds will be devoted to the mini-menopause and others, to stimming). The mini-menopause part can be provoked in many ways, as you saw in the different posts. Some will have nasal spray, others will have one shot, others will have injections of one med, or many meds at some point. The lenghts will vary as well even for the same meds. Look at cookholmes and me: she started it on the 3rd like me, but she'll start taking follitism on the 10th and I'll just continue on taking Lupron till the 18th... and then add Puregon. Oh and by the way sweetie, my blood test is 16 days after egg retrieval, not 16 days after embryo transfer. That actually means my 2ww will be between 10-13 days.

Ems Congratulations on starting stimming! :D GO girl!

Ange Hehehe aren't we glad we have that small amount of belly fat, huh? ;) Same here! Though I could do without the bloating... And as far as Progesterone is concerned, HA! I'll have what they can intra-vaginal pearls... suppositories of you will. No injections! The hardest part as far as injections are concerned is right now; I was told that the Puregon injections are a breeze because they are done with a special "pen" that diabetics use and apparently it's very comfy.

bec It's great to have news sweetie! :D Oh and by the way, I'm down regging, not stimming! hehehee but there are so many posts that it's difficult not to get confused!

beachbaby yup, ER and ET at the beginning of February means our 2ww will definitely overlap. I figure you've just started your ovarian vacation like me?

Fed Hello sweetie! By the way, I'm the one who invented the "ovarian vacation" term (hum... should ask royalties for that... lol)! Glad you like it!

jodic oh, I'm sorry to hear that you're having lots of headaches... I'm prone to that as well, so I guess that's what's down the road for me when I start Puregon. Try massaging your temples with lavander essential oil or diffusing it in your room... it helps with headaches.

Ok, I have a patient waiting for me! Should go! I have my first acupuncture appointment after work today! I'm VERY curious!

Take care ladies, and lots of love to you all!

Hi everyone,

Well, the bloods came back fine so I start stims on Monday, with scans on 15th, 17th and 19th and then EC planned for 22nd and ET on 24th if all goes to plan.

It all seems very real now and I am starting to feel a bit excited. BUT, must take one day at a time.

Thanks so much for all your little messages of support, and good luck to all of you. Hopefully this is our time!

Love Ems xx

Bec hehehe love your enthusiasm for accu! ;) I just hope he won't have too many preconceived ideas about me. He made a comment on the phone that puzzled me a little bit in that regard (he already seems to believe that I'm overworked, and I'm not sure I like that... especially that I wish I worked better schedules, but can't help the situation much right now... need that money, guess why! ;)). Bah, we'll see; I'll go there with a very open mind!

And I'm sorry you're having IBS problems today... how does it show up in your case? I hope it's not cramps in your case, I bet the pregnancy constipation does not help... *hgus*

Ok... one note to write, and then next patient!
