Cowgirl- thanks for the reassurance on all my questions.... I'm hoping I'll start to feel Aubrey move soon (I'm sure it will make me feel better). However, most of my friends & family tell me not to rush it... because when she does start moving you'll be asking her to stop so you can get to sleep.

Racheal- Good luck at your doctor's appointment... keep us posted!

hi there girls-

tasha- as for feeling the baby move, i think that you are right on schedule... they say that when it's your first your muscles and uterus are not streched out and it's harder to feel the baby move when the muscles are tighter.... so i think that you are just fine.... soon you'll be kicked so hard it might take you by surprise... mine always seem to kick my bladder when i need to use the bathroom..., that's not fun, i think that a full bladder takes up his space... it's funny... as for the glucose test the standard is 24-28 weeks, unless you have history or other reasons for taking it sooner...

rachael- hope that your sons can be the first to hold the baby.... we do the same thing here... our boys are going to be the first before anyone.. we are still trying to figure out how we are going to have them there as my little one (3 years) is still a bit on the wild/energitic side.. my oldest loves babies and he is getting so excited for the new... it surprised me, but he said that he wanted a sister?? usually the doc's might let you push the date up to 37 weeks... but i think that would still put you at June 6th... do you have to take him to camp, or is he going with the group.... if you could even make it the 7th or 8th.... try and talk to you doc about it... were there any problems with your second son at 37 weeks?? i know that we went 35.6 and 36.2 weeks with both of our babies were born fine ... no stay in the NICU or anything... so if your 2nd was fine at 37... it could mean that your daughter will be fine at 37weeks... did you get the glucose test back.... have you been tested for anemia/? i know that each pregnancy i get it , and I am SOOO tired i could sleep all the time... i tried to blame it on chasing my boys around, but then started the iron pills and felt more energy...

cowgirl- as for going earlier or later i have not heard one way or another... just that labor is "usually" shorter and the babies bigger?? were you early or late with you other two?? good luck to your daughter... hope that you will work things out with the dates... they do say that the normal range is 38-42 weeks... try and talk to your doc too? who knows what will happen, maybe you'll be a little early and all will be fine!!!!

hope that everyone is well, and take care!!
colleen

as for us... we are good i can not beleive that i only have 16 weeks at the most left... i know that due date wise we are still 18+ weeks away.. but 16 weeks left...!!! I'm actually hoping that i am going to be even earlier then that (i'm thinking may 20th I'll be 36.2 weeks then)... my oldest son's birthday is may 30th, and i was hoping to be as far away from his birthday as possable... he allready said that May is his month....i see the doc feb 13th and then i'm going to schedule our next scan after that....we still have not found a name (all of you are making me feel bad about it, because you all have great names picked out and are calling your babies by their name) we are still thinking about the room and looking at getting the stuff that we need...

Colleen- thanks for the answers... it puts my mind at ease a bit. I guess until I really start to feel her I'll be worried. It never stops.... Well I could give you some ideas for boys names (the names we actually picked out if we were going to be having a boy). Carson, Ian, Logan, Christian & Bryce..... your welcome to any of those names! However, I'm sure whatever name you pick will be wonderful. How are you liking this snow we're getting? I'm in Elmhurst and right now we;ve gotten about 2 1/2 inches.

i love the snow. it looks like it's slowing here.... just waiting for it to get a little warmer!!!! double digits would be an improvement... DH is not looking forward to shoveling the drive... good luck on getting home... do you have to drive from elmhurst to elgin... yeikes!!

as for the names... my oldest is named Logan and 2nd is Caden and i love Bryce, but DH doesn't... it was one on my list... DH wants it to end in an "n"...but he's not helping a whole lot... i really Bradyn... but sounds really close to Caden... i also like Talyn. MIL is also trying to throw her 2 cents in... she has come up with some really odd ones...

collen- I have seen the name Daxen and the abbreviated version Dax if you want the ending in "n". We were going to go with the name Cole if it was a boy, but I really like the name Bryce. :-)

I would like to see some snow but wouldn't want to live in it :-) It is 69 degrees here today in TX :-)

I hope Nictor posts her scan results soon. I like to hear all the great scans. :-) I will probably not have another for quite some time now. :-) But it is so reassuring feeling the baby move. I may not think that in 10 more weeks but right now it is great!

Take care all!

Collen - Good to hear from you. Yes my youngest was fine when he was born at 37 weeks, but we have discussed this with the OB already and she brought up some very good concerns. With my first two, I was not on the blood thinner, the asthma meds, and the pain killers that I have taken in this pregnancy. Her bigest concern is the baby's lungs and their maturity. If it turns out that I have the gestational diabetes as well, it is just one more blow against her lungs. My first test for GD was negative (it was done at 12 weeks), but my OB is talking about doing another one since the weightloss and tiredness has set in. I will find out for sure on Monday. Your boys sound like mine! My oldest aboslutely loves babies and also wanted a sister. He has been beaming since we told him. As for the little one, ask the hospital policy. My oldest was only three when we had Christian and my OB cleared it so he could be in the recovery room and met his brother before the mad rush of relatives came. It worked out great because he had some quite time to sit with the baby on his lap and just look. See my oldest was adopted by my husband and we were worried he would feel left out. So we involved him from the beginning when we decided to have Christian. We did the same this time around and I am glad I did. My little one is unsure of what is to come, but he is still excited. He has been waiting to feel Makayla move, but she refuses to when he is touching. DH has already felt her, and my oldest is at that weird stage where he doesn't want to touch me there. He doesn't let us see him without full clothes right now. Actually, ever since the school did the sex ed class with him, he has been that way. He will give quick hugs and pecks, but no long term touching with anyone. I think it is a stage and he will grow out of it, we'll see. As for names, I am partial to Christian, but Brian is another name that ends in "n". There is also Allen and Colon. I am lucky, my MIL doesn't speak English and I prefer not to speak any Spanish. This doesn't leave much room for her input!

Tasha - Fear not, the OBs know what is right. I do not really remember when I felt Danny move the first time, but it was late in the pregnancy. On top of that, he was very lazy!

Cowgirlclass - Enjoy the warm up! It is suposed to get cold again!

Hope all is well!

Hi ladies!

Holy Cow! I was out of town for a national teaching conference for two days, and I can't believe how many posts I've missed since then! I'm glad to hear so many updates from you though!

Ironically enough, my school had to cancel for Monday and Tuesday, due to the fact that it was 20 below zero! Yikes! Unfortunately, I didn't get to enjoy staying at home since I was out of town for the conference. Now we're getting hit by a lot of snow, which I love! We might get another day tomorrow. I can always hope! I loooove sleeping in, especially now!

Colleen--As for your name game, Bradyn is one of our favorites! We'd call him Brady. Still not for sure if that's our top pick, but I like it a lot! (We also like Blake, Graham, and Reid) As a teacher, I have to find names that I've never had a student with that name. Here are some other names, though: Mason, Brendan, Brandon, Benjamin, Calin, Triston....just be careful with the name "Colon"....that's spelled like a part of the body. Try Colin instead! Kids will tease!

Racheal and Cowgirl--I'm sorry to hear about your possible "date conflicts" with your little ones...just remember how long you've wanted these gifts...and let them cook as long as they need to. Your older children have lives of their own, and while your ideal situations sound terrific, reality sometimes makes us change our way of thinking. Racheal, could you come up with a special tradition just for your son? I bet you could. He obviously wants to go to camp, and I'm sure he'll have a wonderful experience there...even if he does miss the delivery. Things have a way of working out. As for you Cowgirl...that's tough. I know how you want to show support to your daughter and show her how she's still such an important part of your life. Try not to make too big of a deal about it, because kids are resilient....just have a backup plan, just in case you're delivering!

I wish I had time for more personals, but I've got to pee!!!!

As for an update, I'm doing well. Heartburn seems to be a constant presence, so I'm always popping tums. My belly is really getting bigger! I think it's cute! :) My DH painted our nursery while I was gone--what a sweetie! We chose a very light taupe color for the top part of the wall, while the bottom half is white chair rail and wainscoating. It looks nice so far. It's very very simple. Once I get artwork and photos up, it will look so crisp! The cribs shipped out on Friday, but they're not here yet. I expect to get them in the next week or so. I can't wait to see how things are going to look!

Well, I've gotta run! But, I do want to know...Nance, are you okay? It's been too long....

Colleen- yeah warming up would be nice now... I think they're saying teens tomorrow, which is better than single digits. Well I like Colin and Mason too... good luck! Yeah I drive from Elgin to Elmhurst daily... it's terrible. However, there aren't a lot of companies out there that do what I do so I have to make the drive. I'm hoping they'll let me work part time from home once the baby comes...

Nictor- are you there???? We want to hear all about your scan.

Cowgirl- I'm jealous your having warm weather... I wish it were Fall here all year round.

Kim- it's good to hear from you. Also glad to hear that things are going well for you and the little ones. That was very sweet of your DH to paint while you were gone. We're actually going to start doing that very soon... my mom is going to help w/ the border also. Can't wait to see the pictures of your room when it's done.

Here's wishing you all a great night!

hi girls hope that everyone is doing well... we are ok here nothing really new, just still working on the name thing with DH.. thanks to you all for the names, there were some that DH said "not bad" to... so we added a few to the list... i also saw the name Auden... it was interesting... i keep seeing girls names that i love.... i told DH that if he doesn't like my names that he needs to come up with his own.... he just really busy with his job, and going back to fulltime school. his job is crazy at this time... so we'll see if he finds a few minutes to look some names up... i did find a website with 110000 names and you can look them up in a ton of different ways... it's cool..

cowgirl- we are at 3 degrees right now with the wind chill of -14... so we are still in this darn cold snap.. we did get a few inches of snow a few days ago and the kids want to play outside so much, but it's just too darn cold!! i could not imagine 69 degrees right now... i actually love the winter, it's my favorite season, just maybe not sooo stinking cold!!

tasha- yeikes on the drive... what a pain... I used to drive from Lake in the Hills to Skokie daily... what a hike... what kind of work are you in? if you don;t mind me asking?

racheal- hope that things work out for your dates.... they could always do an amino near the end to check the lungs... are they doing a ton of scan watching the growth and stuff... i know that we'll have a ton because of our issuses and checking the growth and the bowels often... i think that the scans will give a good indication if things are going ok, and Makayla is growing well... when are they testing for GD??on monday?? do they do the 1 hour test or do you have to go through the three hour test... i know that after our appointment next week we'll have another 3 hour test in the following week or two... i think that hw said 24 weeks.... be glad, your MIL can not add all of her imput... i think that my MIL is worse then most because my DH is am only child and she was divorced a long time ago... so it's basically been her and DH his whole life... so i think that has a lot to do with her imput.. we too have let the kids be involved the whole time and letting them share in the expirence... my little one is.... well not sure of the right words, but he says that there is no baby in my tummy and the baby is in his tummy (he thinks that his outtie button is the baby) it's cute, but i worry because he is very attached to me right now...

kim-great that your DH painted while you were gone.... that's so cool. And your cribs should be there soon.... how exciting... congrats on your snow day... i was hoping that they would call a day off for the cold.... it's hard to let my 5 1/2 year old out in these aweful cold.... it was -30 with the windchill.... poor kids out there in the cold!! I too have to find a name that i don't know anyone or anyones dog named the same.... it's probably harder for you, cuz of all the kids yearly...

nicola- glad that the scan went well... i think that once they see the baby it becomes more real... it's so cool... just wait untill he can feel the baby... you think that it's crazy now... this is our 3rd and DH still has his hand on my belly all the time, even when i'm trying to cook dinner or anything else...

nance- thinking of you and your scan today.... hope that all is well..

well, i hope that everyone has a great day :D :D

Good Afternoon Girls... Hope everyone is doing well and for those of us that are having cold weather I hope your keeping your little ones warm.

Colleen- glad to hear that your doing well... hopefully you guys will pick a name soon. Actually you have some time so no rush. Auden is a very unique name... I like it. To answer your question... I work in Marketing. We do all the promotions for Pepsi, Frito-Lay, etc. It's a fun an interesting job... but don't get me wrong it does have it's low points too. I'm just happy that I'll have the summer off....

Kim- how was your snow day off?

Nance- how did your scan go today?

Hope you all have a great night...

hI gals! Not much time today, just wanted to drop in and say hello!

I had to go back to work today...bummer...it was still -20 degrees outside...brrrrr! But, Tasha, I really really enjoyed my day off yesterday. I got a bunch of stuff done (errands and such).

Good news--my cribs and changing table came today! DH wants to start putting them together soon. I can't wait to see what things will look like!

Colleen--I really like the name Auden. It's one I've never heard of before. I can't wait to hear what you decide...

Tasha--I have a very good friend who lives in Chicago and works in marketing for Pepsi out in one of the suburbs. Not sure if she's in the same company as you or not....but her company does those "bottle cap" contests...wouldn't that be small world if you gals worked together?

Gotta run gals...I've got a little work to do, and then I'm off to watch Grey's Anatomy! My favorite show!
