We have got some interesting weather going on here in Mass! Between snow, sleet and rain it is quite a mess out there. Up state New York has been pounded! They keep talking about it on the news. I guess I cant complain see as though this is the first real snow we have had all season!

Hey all...

Shantala: the list looks fab. No worries about yest, just glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. Just let me know in the future if you need a hand.

Aunty: Ah now i am really pissed off. My work computer has the AUDACITY to block myspace. D*mn job! Will have to see your beautiful blasts later today. That way i can coo to them in "person".

Cinny: congrats on your 8 frosties! That is fab back up!

BWHD: wow... someone else this happens to. Yep, i go and work out like crazy (and i mean like train for and run half marathon)... won't lose a lb, then stop and i lose a few. Weird. So what i have done (besides working out for a while then stopping... just so i get the fun of seeing the lbs come off  ), is add some weights 3x a wk. Good luck!

Rachel: my heart aches for you. Don't know what else to say. We are here when you need us.

*****RANT ALERT*****
If not interested in hearing a rant... i won't be offended if you just skip this...

All right, this is really pissing me off (really, it is just making me so sad, but i am choosing to express it as anger  ). This is for all the women who i have known on this board and others in the PAST who have had to give up ivf due to $ (d*mn $), and for Rachel NOW, and for any of us that may be in this situation in the FUTURE. It bloody sucks. It is bloody unfair. I agree w/aunty... it is one thing to stop b/c you have had enough, or b/c there is no chance for success.... but a completely different thing to stop due to cash. This process can be cruel on so many levels, and this i think is one of the cruelest. There should be some international "slush" fund (come on... between all of our countries... the money spent to build stupid museums about lint, and all other stupid governmental waste.. can you IMAGINE the slush fund????!!!) that women could tap into. All those women out there having children and beating them... then we have perfectly psychologically healthy women who would provide a loving and nurturing home to a child and can't afford to do the outrageously expensive treatments anymore. oooooo, now i am really on one. Just thinking of all the drug addict pregnant women i used to treat. All right. Sorry for the rant  . Well, no, actually, not sorry for the rant, just sorry if it made anyone feel bad. This issue just tugs at my heart in a way that i think will never be reconciled.

Hi Ladies,

In regards the having to stop treatments because of money I wish you could all move into my house so that insurance would cover it for you. I feel kind of guilty for the fact that I live in a state that funds these treatments. The thing that gets me is that most state insurances cover Viagra for men to be able to get it up but they will not fund IVF! Makes no sense to me. I am so sorry for the things you all have to go through with this financial issue, this process is draining enough, the last thing you need is money stresses! My heart goes out to you!

Aunty and Sassy, I have been mulling this issue over for awhile now, and I have come to the conclusion that something just has to be done NOW.
I have been looking into "government grants" for starting a small business. (Tom and I want to open our own Aquatics store) I have been hearing about how our government has all this FREE money, for everything and anything. So, I had told Tom that I was going to purchase the program that helps us write the grant, and helps us find the right one for us. What if we could do the same thing for IVF? This money doesn't EVER have to paid back, so that is one of the great things about this, and I am sure that once that fund is up and running finding supporters would be a semi-easy.

So ladies what do ya say?

Hi Ladies...

Just a quick one as I need to crawl under my covers. I went to the dr. today and I have sinusitis and bronchitis. Needless to say all the coughing is hurting my already sore insides and the sleep deprivation as a result of it is making me might cranky. Anyway called my RE from the dr.'s office to make sure I could take what he's giving me assuming I come down with pregnantitis as well. He said I could so hopefully on my way to recovery.

Rachel... my heart so hurts for you. How unfair to be forced into a decision. I hope you find a way to make your dreams come true. I have also started my med donation bag and would be more than happy to hand that over to you if it helps.

Aunty...your embies are precious, thanks for sharing!

Sassy.. I echo your rant. Everytime I hear of some poor baby being left somewhere or abused, my blood boils because there are so many woman out there who want so badly to be moms and would make great moms.

Shantala.. the list looks fabulous

Sophie... thanks for your words of wisdom and advise.

Christine.. hope Abby and dh are feeling better. Everybody seems to be sick. Including me.

Cinny.. what an awesome number of embies to freeze! Good job!

Janice.. LOL poster child. I'd be more than happy to hand that honor over to you real soon!

I'm sure I haven't addressed everyone and I apologize, but am thinking all good thoughts for our wonderful thread.

hugs,
Ange

Ange, sweetie I hope that you feel better in a hurry. Yes this is going around, I spoke to Abby's teacher today and she said she was out for a week with this and it's a miserable thing. I am praying that these two don't get me sick.

I managed to make soup already today! I forgot that whenever I was sick my mom would make potato soup and it would make me feel better, always. So I called her for the recipe and it was so simple! So I thought I'd pass it along to all of you.

4 Large Potatoes, peeled and diced.
1 large onion peeled and diced.
1 box of Mrs Grasses complete soup mix
4 cups of water
1 stick of butter
1 cup of milk
salt and pepper to taste.

In a large pot combine all ingrediants and cook at medium heat on the stove for 1 hour or until potatoes are tender.

Christine the grant sounds great! Count me in. So does the potatoe soup. I might just try it tonight. Even though I'm not sick.

Sassy. I've been doing the weights 2x per week for months Doesn't seem to be helping much. Or, that's why I'm gaining muscle. Who knows??? I'm really not going to give up the exercise, just weird that I stopped and dropped a few. :)

ANGE: Please feel better soon! Get under those covers girl!

Aunty,I had a look at your embies on myspace. They're cool. I never seen blast ones before. Keeping thinking positive thoughts and they will stick.
Loads of water honey and tuna fish if you can stand it. I drank loads of water min 3L and ate tuna every day (only bcoz one of the nurses at the clinic told me too) and it worked. I'm still doing that now.

Cinny,
Happy anniversary honey. Hope your having a nice time together.

Sophie,Loved the advise on your posting today. R u a physcotherapist?
I use to go to one when I suffered from panic attacks. I prefered that to taking medication and it worked great. I only needed about 6 sessions to clear the problem.

Right I am off to bed now. Hubby is watching the footy. Hard to be romantic when I won't do anything until after 3 months. But we did have a lovely dinner together. Anyway, Desperate Housewives is on soon and I love watching that in bed.

lisa, good to read you! Glad that you had a nice V-Day dinner with hubby, even if you have "dessert", it's for a good cause!

Cinny, happy Anniversary sweetie!

I hope that all of you are having/had a beautiful day with your DH's. My daddy called and asked me what Tom got me and I said nothing cuz he is sick. So, then I went out and bought myself sterling roses and a turtle sundae! Heeehehehehe catering to him all day is his gift!

I cannot believe how long out TWW list is getting! So happy for all of you!

Hugs and sticky baby dust to all!
