Tasha - I could not view your little one, but I am happy to hear it went well.

As for running out to help, that is just the way I am. The fact that I am pregnant didn't even cross my mind and most people did not notice. In fact, later I spoke with some of the people around and they were shocked I was even pregnant much less 5 months gone. I have always looked for ways to help others and I never think twice about it. That is why I have the first aid, CPR and youth protection training I have. It helps me to help others.

Tonight is going to be a fun night for us. We are making decorations for our big banquet on Friday. I am doing candles and necklaces with the tigers and the wolves. We are really getting excited about the party. I am baking a special cake for our silent cake auction. It is a Volcano that is made from a moist chocolate cake and 7-minute and peanut butter frostings of various colors. I designed it myself about 2 years ago when my son wanted it for a birthday cake. I am also finishing up the plaques we are giving out as awards for the boys that won the Pinewood Derby. They are stars with cars wood burned on the front and the place they won. Some how, I will manage to finish everything. Some times I wonder if I am just crazy. I cannot stand to be bored and that means constantly doing things. Oh well, no news yet on DH's job, but I have decided that it doesn't really matter. We will find a way no matter what.

Hope everyone is doing great!

Hi gals,

Tasha--I'm glad your scan went well and that Aubrey is definitely a girl! I tried to check out the pics, but I couldn't get them.... As for registering, I have a question for you and all the other American moms-to-be...A friend recommended I go ahead and register for a convertible car seat, since most babies need those within the first year. Are you? If so, do you have any good recommendations? I've got my infant car seats picked out, but I have no clue about the convertible seats. It's never ending, huh?

Racheal--Have fun with all of your preparations! Do you have a twin out there somewhere who helps you do all this stuff?

Take care gals, I'm off to scrape some dinner together.

Happy Wednesday Girls....

Well it sounds like the link I sent out w/ my last post didn't work so I'm posting some the pictures on photobucket. Enjoy....

So we had our 24 week OB Appointment last night. I'm up to 14 pounds (which I found very depressing) and I'm measuring 26 weeks instead of 24 weeks... so my doctor seems to think I might go a little early. Other than that everything is great... I have to go in for my glucose test in 3 weeks (so March 13th) and my next OB Appointment will be March 20th (for my 28 week check up). So in order to help me not gain so much more weight I have given up fast food (burgers, hot dogs, fries, & pop) for lent.... I'm hoping this will help me maintain a good weight gain.

Kim- to answer your question... we actually registered for a travel system (infant car seat/stroller) and a convertible car seat for DH's car. This way I never have to move the car seat from one vehicle to another. We ended up going w/ the Costco Alpha Elite Convertible Carseat. I read consumer reviews & customers comments on Babies-R-Us to help us make our decision. I'm hoping we made the right decision.... good luck!

I hope everyone else is doing well and taking care of their little ones....

Tasha

hi girls... sorry to be MIA, but things have been absolutly crazy here... so we are just a little back to norm today... DH and the boys were all really sick.. DH had strep and my oldest had ear infection and sinus infection and my youngest had ear infection and hand/foot/mouth... both of them have a cold and nasty fever... so needless to say i've not had much rest, but KNOCK ON WOOD have not gotten sick!!!

tasha- the scan looks great... it looks like her foot, and hand are right by her face... how awesome to see a picture like that.. glad that your appointment went well, sorry about the lbs, but do not worry too much!!! if they gave you the drink for the glucose test.. keep it in the fridge.. it's not as bad... i have my repeat test at my next appointment, the 8th..

kim- hope that you are well... as for the car seat, we have the eddie bauer 3 in1 seat by cosco now that i use for my 3 year old... and have NO complaints.. i love it, and he has used it since he was a little over a year ( he was a small baby... so we got to use the infant seat the whole 1st year, but with my oldest he was out of the infant seat at 8 or 9 months.. he was a big guy... hope that you are doing better from your fall...

rachael- you are just going and going... you seem to be aways on the go or doing something.... hope that you are still managing to taking it easy and no more cramping...

angellica- a boy a boy.... now my little blue guy is going to have a friend... boys are great and so much fun.... good luck on the trip to return the pink and get some wonderfull blues

ellie- hope that your back is feeling better... anymore sicatica pain? i hope that the heat/ice worked.... did you like it as much as your DP??? i find that i microwave the towel to put over the ice pack, so the cold is a little more of a gradual freeze then a jump right to the cold... hope that your pain subsides...

nance- hope that you are well , and taking care.... hows the job going.... how much longer do you have untill the office closure is complete... hope that you are not working too much!!!

cowgirl- hope that you are doing a ton better and drink plenty of h2o.. i try and always have my water near me, and sip it all the time ... i think that it's more of a habbit now, but we need to drink a lot..

wendy- welcome over here... congrats on you pregnancy... hope that you can get another scan... do not worry about ranting... i think that we all are looking for a good place to rant that people will understand,... an we do underdstand here and have all ranted about one thing or another... let off some steam!!!

well, have a great day!!!

Colleen- it's good to hear from you... however sorry to hear that your whole family has been sick (besides you, which is a good thing). Hopefully you don't catch anything.... I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Hi ladies

Apologies I cannot do personals but have just had a recap to see how you are all doing! I have had a terrible day and my head hurts with crying! my old neighbour died suddenly of a heart attack which made me cry so bad I think these hormones made it ten times worse! then 10 minutes after hearing that in my already hysterical state my Manager walked out after screaming at me! 5 minutes before I started 6 hours of solid therapies her son has left his wife and it has sent her mad, the woman is old enough to be my Mother and was quite abusive and threatening, I have spent 6 months training her up ready for my leave and I dont have the time or energy to do it again, I am so up the creek at the minute I cant even think anymore....  but hey tomorrow is a brand new day!!! so I will check in then!! when I have finished crying!!

A BOY I am still in shock!!

I hope you are all good xx

Tasha--Thanks for the tutorial! Those images are so neat! I'm considering going to a spa in Cincinnati that does the 3d/4d u/s and gives massages afterwards. It's pricey, but I might just go for it!

JEck--I got to see more photos of your little guy....tooooo cute!

Angelica, I'm so sorry to hear about your neighbor. I hope tomorrow's a better day.

Good Morning Girls!!

Sorry for the MIA yesterday, but I had a massive migraine all day and just did what had to be done. However, I woke up this morning feeling great! I got up and made blueberry and cream cheese waffles and fresh coffee. My husband was shocked when I woke him up with breakfast in bed. Then I went to the store and picked up a few things and went to work. Like you all say, I am forever doing something. I hate boredom and it seems to come on quick! Anyway, I got Makayla's bedding yesterday and rushed to put it up. It looks awesome with the paintings I have already finished. I will try to put a pic on photobucket tonight. I am still have not finished to baby's room, but I will! We still have not heard from DH's work about whether we are safe or not. There are tons of rumors that the lay off will be at the end of the month, but we are still in limbo.

Kim - As for car seats, I know this may be hard to believe, but you will buy more than one. With my oldest we went through 3 (he is a very big boy!) and with our youngest, we went through 4 because he wore his out. The poor dear is still required to use one at 7 because he has not reach the mandatory weight limit of 50 lbs. Anyway, it never hurts to ask for the conversion seats, but you will need to realize there will be lots of things to buy just because they grow!

Tasha - She is beautiful! The pictures are amazing. It really puts a face to Aubrey. If we weren't in save everything mode, I would really have to consider doing the 3D u/s.

Colleen - Please stay heathly! Colds are awful when you are pregnant. There is almost nothing you can take! I hope everyone continues to make a full recovery. Your house sounds like mine though. The boys all get sick and once I get them all better, I get sick! Good luck!

Angellica - Have no fear, something will work out. You will see. I know how hard it is though. We have been through 3 girls since my manager found out I was PG. I just get one trained enough to be helpful and they quit. The last one left a month ago and the manager has not replaced her. It will be his problem, because I am taking a full 3 months off and I might not come back!

Cowgirl - How are you doing? Are you out enjoying the weather. We are! It has been beautiful here. I am excited about this weekend. We will be staying close to home, but we are hoping to go fishing and have a picnic. It has been months since we have been able to do this.

Nance - I ahope you are doing well and not getting to stressed. At least you will have some time to rest before the baby comes. Who knows, you might be able to find a job that will let you work from home!

Wendy - I hope you are feeling better. You should start feeling a little more comfortable soon. It seems like after a certain point, your body gives up complaining about stretching.

Ellie - We have not hear from you lately, are you okay? Iam sending you loads of hugs!

Nicola - You are also MIA. I hope your little one is getting big. Write us sometime, we miss you!

Jeck - He is such a love! I can see in your pictures that he feels the same way you and DH feel. You are all meant to be together. Have you heard any news about when you can bring him home? I hope you and DH are busy getting his room ready. He looks like an active one!

God Bless all of you!

Hi all
Sorry i haven't been around lately but we are busy pruning our olives and clearing the land of weeds etc before our fire permit runs out in March and by the evening i am knackered.
Cmoscar could you please come and visit me and make me waffles for breakfast they sound yummy. :D
Angellica so sorry to hear about your neighbour and that you are having a hard time at work. Hopefully today has been a better day for you and your manager was having an of day.
Colleen sorry to hear everyone is getting sick, it always happens this time of year no matter where you seem to live, eat lots fruit and drink lots of water to keep those germs away.
Tasha i am about to go and check out your photos, looking forward to seeing Aubrey. I had a 4d scan at 13 weeks and it was amazing, needless to say the dvd has been copyed several times and posted of to family members.
As for me i am fine i went to see my new gynacologist in the hospital this week and everything is fine, i had another scan and all is well. I asked about the birth and was surprised to find out that they do not offer gas and air as a pain relief and that you have epidural only. I was hoping to try and stay away from an epidural if possible but don't fancy doing it without any form of pain relief. I will be doing meditation and visulization throughout but might need a little more, oh well, lots of people have babies here so i guess i will cope. For you ladies from the states do you get to use gas and air? I also saw my midwife today who seems very nice and i got to hear madams heart beating again which is always so cool. I am desperatly waiting to feel her moving now hopefully this will happen in the next couple of weeks.
If i haven't left you a personal i am thinking of you all. Take care

hi there girls... not too much time to post personals, but hope that everyone has a great weekend, and stay healthy...

i got the cold and earinfection the other night, and and slowly getting better, the rest of the family is trying to get better also... so we are keeping the germs away from everyone and hands are very very dry from all the washing.

ellie we do not use the gas here... we can have the epidural or some pain med in the iv... other then that breath and meditate... i really think that meditation helps a lot... enjoy your weather
rachael- i hate migranes especially when preggo there is very little to do for them... i'm usually locked in my room with the blinds pulled and try to deal the best way... hope that you do not get any more...

well... that's all the time for now.. hope that everyone is taking care of themselves and their little ones...

Hi Guys,
Sorry I haven't been around for a while. I do try and read the boards but never seem to have the time to write.

Angellica- Great news about having a boy! Sorry work is so manic and things are not great but hopefully it will all be plain sailing when little one arrives.

Colleen- Sorry you caught the bug. Hope your taking care of yourself. You seem to be one busy woman but you obviously enjoy it!

Ellie- It does seem strange there is no alternative for pain relief in labour. Epidural are quite invasive so you'd think they could offer you something before this? Like you say though plenty of women have had babies in Spain and obviously they are happy with the choices.

Well as for me I had my 12 week scan at the end of January and all seemed well. We din't have the NT scan but was lovely to see a lively baby with all it should have at that stage! I'm just coming up for 16 weeks now and have had for days with no sickness! Yeah, hopefully that is it now, touch wood. I get to see a consultant in April as would like to have this baby at our local hospital which is midwife run so they are careful about who can go there. They say I am classed as high risk just because of the IVF, but hopefully as I have had one vaginal delivery they will consider it.
I also have an appointment for a repeat coloposcopy in April which I'm pretty nervous about. (for those who don't know I found out I need treatment for abnormal cells in cervix whilst doing the IVF but they let me continue treatment) They say they will be careful and will not treat me until after birth but worried what they may find.

My SIL had baby no.9 three weeks ago and has been in several papers the last few days. Still don't know how she survives. I look 10 times more tired than she ever does!

Take care all.
I will try and post more often but do think of you and try and follow the progress.
