Hi Ladies,

I was wondering if I might join you. I have been hovering on the double trouble thread a little but mostly I have been back General forum....I just can't seem to let go to the whole treatment side of things, just in case I wound up back there again. But I guess at nearly 23 weeks I'm pretty safe that these bubs are keepers!

About me: We have unexplained infertility and after 5 years TTC and 3 failed IUI's we switched to IVF and got a BFP on our first go. I am carrying fraternal twins, which makes me very happy....if a little scared! My due date is the 9th of July, but I'll probably come earlier being twins.

Being an Aussie, I couldn't work out whether I was meant to be in the spring our summer babies thread as its actually autumn here, going into winter!!!

So i hope I can join your little group. I have just cut down to part time work and will have more time to chat so thought it was time to bite the bullet.

Look forward to getting know you all,
Em

Welcome X-Rayem!

Many of us were on the first trimester thread with you. I am glad to see you made it safely to the second trimester. I will add you to our list. I hope your weather is beautiful! I love the fall and the spring. I am enjoying our early spring this year and going camping tonight. Actually, DH and the boys are going up to Lake Somerville on Monday and will not be home until Thursday. I am a little jealous, but there is no close hospital so I have to stay here.

CasyP - I am glad you are doing well. Eye infections are a pain (literally). My boys had a round of it in November and they were the biggest babies about it. Of course all boys (and men) are babies when it comes to pain and illness.

Colleen - I hope your results were good. As far as measuring big, that is better than my situation. Makayla is still measuring small and I am hoping at my appointment on Thursday it will be in the normal range again. I still do not look very pregnant, just fat. I am only weighing in at 11 lbs total, but I prefer not to gain the weight.

Tasha - You are the closest one to delivery and should be the one finished with your nursery! Right now your little one has a decent chance of surviving if born. Not that we should push that, but just a note. I hope you find everything you want for your little angel.

Nance - You have plenty of time to finsh your nursery. I got started early, but in the end, I will likely be the last one finished. Painting the mural is taking a lot longer than I had thought it would.

Kim - I hope you are in less pain today. I know it is hard to offer advice since I have never been pregnant with twins, but it should subside. I can't wait to see pics of your room. The babes are going to be a comfy and settled in!

Angellica - I hope you are having a good day at work. Things should start to go smoother for you as you move farther into the second trimester.

As for us, I am recovering from an awful cold that hit yesterday and put my asthma into havoc. I am doing a little better today, but I am not 100% sure I will be camping tonight if it doesn't improve a little. However, I will do the activities one way or another. The weather is supposed to be beautiful here. Hope everyone stays warm!

Happy Friday Girls.... it's beautiful here today (it's supposed to be 50 degrees and sunny)! I'm was so excited that I actually wore flip flops to work today....

X-Rayem- welcome to this side of the boards... it's great to have you here. Congrats on your twins!

CasyP- sorry to hear about your eye infection- those are no fun at all. Hopefully your doing better.

Colleen- keep us posted on your test results... also I'm measuring big too (about a week an a half bigger). That just means a healthy happy baby!

Racheal- sorry to hear you caught a cold... I hope you feel better and get to go camping.

Nictor, Angellica, Ellie, Wendy, Kim, BecP, Nance and Cowgirl I hope your all doing well and taking care of your little ones.....

As for us we're doing well. Having some pains (more like uncomfortable stretching)... but nothing that a little rubbing can't cure. We're excited that this weekend is going to be mellow for us... nothing tonight, cleaning tomorrow and then dinner at Al Capone's w/ a large group of friends & Sunday we are shopping for paint for the baby's room.... DH is going to start cleaning, moving furniture & painting over the next fews weekends. I can't wait to see it all done.... I hope you all have a great weekend and keep your little ones safe!

50 degrees and flip flops??????? 50 degrees is like winter to us Texans :-)

Welcome X-Rayem! We have a good group over here and are a pretty active thread for this side :-)

CasyP- I hope you are feeling better.

Kim - I can not even imagine what you are going through carring twins. At first we thought this PG was twins but I was so relieved to find out it wasn't for several reasons, practical and personal. My husband was a little disappointed, but everynight when I feel like a beached whale rolling over in bed or when my butt muscle is hurting I just wonder what kind of shape I would be in if it was twins. I do not envy you ANY. It will all payoff in the end for you with your beautiful babies, but I guess you will be paying fully for it up front! :-)

Colleen - I hope your test results come back good! :-) I could probably call and get my results but I figured if they weren't very good they would call me. :-)

Wendy how are you doing? I don't remember seeing any of your posts lately.

To everyone else, I hope all is well and you are taking good care of yourselves!

Have a nice weekend!

hi there girls... we are at 51 degrees, and i wore capris, and no jacket... it's so nice out... i know you southern girls think that we are crazy, but it's been so cold for so long, that it feels like spring!! i am waiting for the snow to melt before i bring out the sandals... maybe this weekend... it would be nice to wear sandals to the shower, i love and live in sandals... DH says that i'm only not in them when there is snow... so the rest of the year.... love them...

X-rayem- glad to have you here... it's great that you are about 23weeks.. you're due date fits right in, as the season might not... welcome.... awesome about the twins... do you know if they are boys or girls or going with the surprise factor??

rachael- girl, i hope that you are feeling better... are you ever healthy?? hope that you are better and can camp out... you do not look prego?? wow, i feel like a whale and look like a house in just about anything... i hope that people look at me and go, wow she's preganant... not wow is she really really fat... i was going to get one of the t's that said a cute saying... but havn't found the right one... so you have the week to your self with DH and the boys gone... what are you going to do with yourself?? and you are completly right about the boys, but more so the men are babies when it comes to being sick or pain... i tell DH that he would not make it through a braxton hicks contraction let alone a labor one....

casyp- sorry that the eye infection was so bad, and i'm sure that it's worse while watching a 2 YO... i know what you mean about running a riot with the little ones... i took my 3YO today shopping, yes i went more shopping, and he was everywhere.... i looked at strollers today, and really do not want a double one, they are huge and heavy, and i really do not think my DS would sit there enough to make it worth while... but we are planning a few trips, to disney and museums, and parks next year and would like the option to have him rest if he gets too tired, maybe my 5 YO too.. i looked at the baby trend sit and stand stroler... not to fond of it... the front, baby part was not too sturdy and when the baby is a little older out of the car seat, the stroller seat itself doesn't recline... i'm still looking

tasha- hope that you are enjoying the weather as much as me... my DS actually wanted to play at the park... it's still covered in snow... do you think that your pains are braxton hicks contractions/? i know that i'm getting a few a day myself... it's a really tight feeling in your stomach and you can feel that your uterus is hard... sounds like you have a great weekend... other then the baby shower on Saturday, we really do not have big plans... DH is working late, because of the daylight savings mess up... he's a computer network tech... so he'll be busy this weekend with all the problems that it's causing... have fun doing the baby's room... it will be great!!

cowgirl- as i said... it's like summer here... i love it!! i too am waiting for them to call about the results.. i have a feeling that i'm going to have to do the 3 hour GTT again, so i'm really not looking forward to getting the results back too soon... i think that i want to enjoy the weekend first... they are only in the office short hours today anyway... so maybe the results are not back... i remember that i was in texas once and was listing to the radio and they said that "it's cold and 60 degrees so make sure you grab a jcket"... 60 degrees here is shorts and tanktop weather... that is why i do not think that i could ever live in the south... give me my cold and cooler weather....!! take care and stay warm...

no test results... i was going to call, but if they do not call.. i'm ok with it... just dreading the results, hoping that the sugar wasn't high... i think that my iron is lower again, so i'm thinking that they will up that again.. i've just been so tired.. i'll just get through the weekend and have a piece of cake at the shower then really worry about the sugar next week... i'm getting excited again about the US, on wednesday. My mom is coming with too... it will be fun.... hoping for a viedo this time..

take care all, and have a great weekend!!

Colleen- I'm just loving the weather... too bad I'm couped up at work all day. However, they are saying this weekend is supposed to be nice as well. I can't wait..... I'm not sure if my pains are Braxton Hicks Contractions.... I don't know what those feel like so I'm not sure. All I know is it feels like Aubrey is pushing on my upper stomach (close to my boobs) really hard... is that where I would feel the pain? Well what an even smaller world... my DH is a computer network tech as well. Thankfully he has tested everything and he can do what he needs to do this weekend from home.

PS- thanks for the massage info... have you gone there? Or do you know of anyone that has? I'm thinking of making an appointment somewhere (maybe here) for next month. I'm going to try and do a massage once a month until the end..... I'm sure I'll need it.

tasha-i haven't gone there yet to get a massage... i waiting till after my ultrasound on wednesday... then i hope that i'll be more relaxed to get one, as long as everything is ok with the US.... i do get a mini massage when i go the the chiro... i get to see the massage therapist... so that's a mini once a week... i just want a complete one..

that's funny about the DH's... mine works at the college and there are problems with the students id and the time change... they have been working hard the last few weeks.. it's funny, well not funny... but they fix everything, then students go in and mess things up, so they have to wait untill the college closes and do everything tonight, and check it/lock it on sunday... You would be surprised how much damage the kids can do...

next time you get the pain... feel your stomach to feel if it's really hard, like a rock... if it is, then it's a contraction... otherwise she can be pushing up towards your ribs.. my one DS would push my ribs so hard i would have to push back...push his little foot down... i always said that he was trying to strech all the way out..

have a good weekend

Colleen- thanks for the reply on the massage... I might give them a call and see what they say and then go from there. I'll keep you posted....

Well my DH works for a bank (Cole Taylor) in Rosemont and they have been working during the day everyday to ensure everything can be done from home, which is great. Yeah I can see where kids could mess things up... for your DH. Hopefully they get it all done...

Ok thenext time I'm having the pain I'll feel my stomach... I'm thinking it's just her pushing, but I could be wrong. Thanks for the hint though...

You have a good weekend too...

Hey gals!

Long time, no type. I've been very busy. I'd like to be able to respond to everyone's personals, but if I did, I'd be here all night. So, I'll try my best...

Xrayem--Welcome! I'm another twinner...do you know what yours are? Mine are fraternal too, but I'm not finding out the sex. Mine are due 7/6/07...but like you said, they'll probably come early.

Colleen and Tasha--Our weather is AWESOME today too! Yeah! I'm going to go take my dog Murphy out for a walk soon....it's just gorgeous and nearly 60 here. :D While I'd love to wear flip flops, I think I'll refrain...I've had a lot of swelling down there. [My feet are naturally very slender, but right now they are quite large! Yikes!]

Racheal--I hope you're well enough to go camping. But, take care of that Asthma....that can be scary! I'm surprised my asthma hasn't acted up during the pregnancy....I'm going to have to knock on wood!

Cowgirl--My pain subsided thankfully. It lasted about a day and a half. I'm positive it was ligament stretching. Nothing really seemed to help (not even my big body pillow). But, now the pain is gone. Of course, I'm also a good few inches bigger now! So, I guess a lot of stretching was going on!

Caseyp--Sorry to hear about the eye infection. I've had a LOT of students at school come down with stuff lately....just get healthy!

Nance--No worries about your nursery honey. Even when your babe comes home, she'll probably be sleeping with you anyway. For us, things really sped up once the painting was done. Then everything else was much simpler to deal with...

Hope all you other preggos are well!

As for me, like I said my pain is gone. HALLELUJAH! It was pretty tough. I did go to my first Mothers of Twins meeting last night, and it was great. Lots of nice gals and good food too! I wanted to pick every lady's brain about cribs, strollers, feeding, sleeping, causing my kids therapy, etc....they were quite helpful! There was even a panel of adult twins there as guest speakers, and it was fascinating to hear what it's like to grow up as a twin! It got me really excited! (Despite the pain they're causing me!) I have started to have swelling in my legs and feet, which I think is normal? NOthing extreme, but it is shocking to see! I was also a bit dizzy today too, so I'm wondering if maybe my iron might be low. I hear that can be an issue with multiples. I"ll see my doc next week and find out.

As for the nursery, I have done NOTHING this week! I'm hoping to get DH to go with me to get crib matresses this weekend. Then I need to get picture frames and ribbons to hang the family photo "trees". I promise to post pics once I'm done. I'm just not in a big hurry right now.

For all you gals buying baby clothes, all I have is onesies! But, I guess that's okay considering it'll be HOT when mine come. I"m sure I'll get more at my showers!

Okay, that's all for now.....I"m quite long winded today....sorry.

Have a great weekend gals!

Hi Kim- long winded.... so much that you had to post twice! Just kidding... well I'm glad your pain has gone away. However, I think your twins have placed a phone call to Aubrey telling her to now start giving me some pain (that's not very nice). Well I'm also sorry to hear about your swelling..m make sure you rest and elevate your feet. I on the other hand and stressing about stretchmarks (yes they have arrived and I don't like them). I have been using creme twice a day, but people tell me its a waste of time... if my mom had them then I'm going to get them. And guess what... she had them. So lucky me! Well thankfully they are low enough that I can still cover them up if need be.

Have a great weekend and enjoy this weather... it's raining here now!

just relaxing a bit and looking up carseats... what car seat are you all getting?? i can not figure out what i want, and am trying not to spen too much, as this is our last ( unless there are more miracles in store)..

just as i logged out this afternoon the doc called and said that my GTT was normal... i was in complete shock, but VERY VERY happy... iron was a little low, as i expected that... thyroid was good too... so overall we were good... i'm happy with that!!! now we wait till Wednesday when they tell us all the things that they saw before are completely cleared up, and i'll be so much better.... my girlfriend is having her baby tomorrow... a boy, our kids will be just a couple months apart....

Tasha- at least i'm not the only one with stretchmarks, not that i'm glad you got them, they suck... but good thing that they are low... mine are low too, except one... on the top of my belly button going straight up... it hurts... i too used lotion, but i got a few with each of my pregnancies... so i was just waiting for them to show up... and it doesn't matter if you gain a little or a lot of weight, as i'm only up 1 lb... and still have them... so i think that it's really just your body and some get them, and some don't...

kim-enjoy the weather and do not worry about your feet... i bet that you are the only one who notices and everyone else is looking at your wonderful belly.... i think that they are so much more comfortable while pregnant, well not pregnant too.... my feet are swollen at the end of the day, but i'm to the point that "who cares" soon you will not be able to see your feet to even know if they are swollen or not... just look forward to that!! we are waiting for the 60's this weekend, but now we are getting a lot of rain, and on top of that the snow is melting... making things VERY soggy!!! thank goodness the pain is gone!!! low iron also makes you really tired and i could sleep all day, and even wake up tired... if it's low iron, then a pill fixes that!!! not too bad... could be sugars too.. you have time for the nursery do not fret... as for baby cloths... i say go for onesies and sleepers... that is almost all they need a few outfits to go out in, but you can get those after they are born you know... pink or blue... other then that not much else....

well everone else, take care

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Even though its Autumn here its still hot at 30'C (not sure what that is in farenhiet). Its better than it was with 40'C gone for another year, thankfully. I'm not sure what the US equivalent to Queensland (where I live) but its very humid and hot through the summer and in winter, you can get away with short sleeves if you are in the sun. We have never had snow, and never will. I lived in Switzerland and London for 4 years though so have had enough cold weather to last me a life time.

We picked up our cots for the bubs today and have started to set up the nursery. I had painted a feature wall a year ago when it was a guest room and so I am just going to base everything on that colour scheme. Its a deep greeny/blue and is fitting as we don't know the sexes of the bubs (waiting for a suprise...even though its killing me)!!! I work with Ultrasound (I'm a radiographer) so I could scan myself any day and find out but DH has forbidden me!

Wow Kim, it looks like we are only 3 days apart...I'll race you to the finish line!

Anyway, have a nice weekend,
Em
