Hey gals!

It's gorgeous here in Ohio (70 and sunny!), so I'm going to make it quick so I can get outside and enjoy all the sunshine with my dog, Murphy!

Ellie--Good luck at your scan. I will be thinking of you. My DH would be jealous of yours about the kicking. I can feel my two kick, but he can't feel it on the outside yet. We keep trying, though!

Tasha--Feel better soon. I actually had a bad sore throat on Friday but it was all gone on Saturday. I hope your case is a speedy one too. Drink lots of water!

Racheal--I'm glad today's a better day...

Colleen--Now that cold weather's on its way back this weekend...I think I'll hold off for a little longer on the pedicure. No need to cover up pretty toes!

It's my DH's b-day today--number 36, so we're off to his favorite restaurant tonight and maybe some time on the patio with drinks....which means water for me....oh, I would love an appletini!

Have a great night girls!

Hi gals!

Just checking in...

Ellie-I'm SO glad your scan went well. That's great news! Keep up your positive attitude...

Tasha--I hope you're resting right now. Drink lots of water to flush out the sickies. We still have lots of kids out sick at school....some nasty stuff going
around! :?

Not much new here. I have an OB appt. tomorrow morning. I am looking forward to hearing the heartbeats! I'm not looking forward to the scale....I'll be standing on it backwards so I can't see the numbers!

Good Morning Girls-

Well I'm feeling a bit better... I went home early yesterday to rest. However, my fever ended up getting higher (101.8) so I called my doctor right away. He called in a prescription for me. I had to take 2 pills last night and then 1 pill for the next 4 days... so far so good. He thinks I might have been getting a touch of the flu and wanted to zap it right away. However, we does want to see me this afternoon just to make sure everything is ok w/ me and Aubrey.

Colleen- how did your scan go yesterday? Can't wait to hear about it....

Kim- hope your OB appointment went well this morning... fill us in when you can.

As for the rest of you girls I hope your doing well and taking care of your little ones inside.

Tasha

hi there everyone....

we are ok... the scan went good... we got to see our 2.1 lb baby.... growing well.. there was still the echogentic bowels, but nothing else out of norm.... we talked about the different possibilities... he even talked amino... we are not sure what route we are going to take... the wait and see or somthing like the amino... we have another level II in 4 weeks, unless my BP goes up, then sooner.. i'm famous for HBP around week 31 or so... so we'll have to see... but he said that 70-80% chance of everything being just fine... and of course we got the room in which the video recorder does not work... maybe next time

we had her avoid the private area... so there is still a little unknown, but we still completely think that it's a boy..

tasha- hope that you are getting better... there are so many nasty things going around... i think that it's the weather change and all the germs coming out of hybernation... lets us know what doc has to say this afternoon.... the weather is so different today versus the last few.. we are only in the 30's....capris one day to winter coat the next.... wonderful chicago

kim- hope that your appointment went well.... again, do not worry about the weight... you have two little ones and just as long as they are healthy...

ellie- glad that your scan went well, and a great heartbeat... good luck with the specialist on the 26th... it seems like our appointments are one the same days.. our scans, then our next appointment is on the 26th... we must be on some sort of schedule....

cowgilr- hope that you are well.. hope you enjoy the rain.. our weather is so strange... 70's one day 30's the next.... can not wait for true spring to arive... waiting for the flowers and trees to bud... i can not wait for my lilacs to bloom... i LOVE the smell, and open all the windows and let it fill the house!! soon i hope!!

rachael- hope that you are feeling well and your sickness asthma has gone far far away for at least the next few months... take care of your self!!

hope that everyone takes care...enjoy the day!!

Good morning!

I am back from my OB appointment. I had my Glucose test and I failed. My sugar was to be below 130 and I was at 199. I knew I had failed before they did the blood test because I got really sick and felt as high as a kite! So I get to got back and do a more intensive one on Tuesday and get sick again. Makayla is doing good and I managed to gain about 3 lbs. I am also having strong Braxton Hick so she has put me on something to calm it down. I told my OB today that I am glad this is the last one because I don't think I would survive another baby. We laughed and she told me to try not to over do it,    I guess this is definitely going to be my miracle baby. By time we are done, I will be ready for the C-Section. Diabetic babies are generally larger and my last baby was 8 lbs 13 oz. I am really worried about what she will turn out to be. Oh well, I have a relaxing weekend ahead for me and I am hoping to do some painting. The asthma is still there, but I am tired of dreaming abou the next steps.

Tasha - I hope your cold goes away soon. I managed to pass my cold onto DH yesterday and I am sure the boys will come down with it before the end of the weekend. I am glad you are going in today, it will mean you get to hear Aubrey again.

Collen - I am sorry for being nosey, but what are they going to do to help your little one. You seem so calm abnd if it were me, I would be a basket case. I would be in total shock. I pray for your little one and hope he/she will be 100% fine.

Kim - I hope your appointment goes well.

Ellie - I am very relieved about your results. I hope everything continues to look bright for you and your angel!

Cowgirlclass - I hope you are getting some rest. Loads of sunshine to enjoy this weekend. I have loved every minute of it. I can't wait till Makayla is here and I can take long walks with her outside.

I hope everyone else is doing really well. I will try to update the list tonight when I get home.

rachael- don't worry, it's not nosey... i just do not know if people want to hear about all the problems that can happen... it's kind of a downer.. we are just trying to remain positive...

right now we are just watching the baby and making sure the baby is growing well and does not develop anything else... the amino would basically be there to rule out downs and other genetic problems.. as this is a "soft marker" for downs... we did not have a nuchal scan back then.... but they did not see any other downs markers last US.. there is a chance of the baby's instestine having a hole or tumor, but there is notthing to do with that until after birth.. so as long as growth is good, and they do not see a rupture in the instine.. there is really not a lot that they can do.. they also said that it could just be old blood that got in the sack (as i spotted till week 11) and the baby swallowed it, and can not digest it... but from what i've seen in that case, it usually clears up in 6-8 weeks.. so it should have been gone... but maybe it's just taking a little longer then others....

i was in more shock last US, and went crazy looking things up on the internet (my love-hate relationship). Trust me there have been enough tears shed.. but this time i was a bit more prepared.. this is another reason that we are not going full term.. becasue as term approaches there is a slightly higher risk of still birth.. so we are being watched really closely... i'm just glad that he is over 2lbs and they said he would have a good chance of making it, if born early...

so i guess that all i can do is still say my prayers and hope that God watches over my little one, and he comes out healthy.

sorry to hear about the GTT... so now you are doing the 3 hour test... the drink has twice as much sugar.. and made me really sick.... just do not vomit.. or else you will have to do it all over a different day!! i hope that these results are better... i failed the 1st one and passed the 3hour.. so there is still hope... make sure that you do not cut your carbs for 3 days prior to the test... they say to make sure that you are eating 150-200 carb grams a day... this will give the most accurate results...

take care, and thanks for asking about my little guy... pray he's a fighter!!

Colleen - I pray very hard you angel does well. Are they going to delivery him via c-section. I would think that would be easier on him. Like you, I am an internet fiend. Every little thing, I will research until I have read everything about it. As for the downs, I hope he is fine. I have worked with several downs children and they are often the most rewarding but hardest children to deal with. We did not have any extra intervention because I knew I would love her either way. I will pray hard for you and DH. Keep us informed!

As for my glucose test. I knew I would fail and I know I will fail the 3 hour. I have been inslin resistant for two years with an aunt (on Dad's side) and a uncle (Mom's side) that have type 1 and also a grandfather with type 1 (My Mom's side also). My chances of getting it were very high to begin with. However, I do not eat much in terms of carbs (except when the OB orders me to drink the shakes) and I think this is why I have had trouble with the weight gain. So I will just keep on the higher protein diet and keep an eye on the sugar levels.

Good luck everyone!

Hi gals...just dropping in...

Colleen: I'm glad your scan went well. I'll keep your babe in my thoughts/prayers. I'm sure he will be just fine.

RAcheal--So sorry about the glucose test. I actually have mine next appt. I'm a little nervous about it as my babies are already measuring big (which is a shocker for twins), and on my dad's side all the babies were born REALLY big. I'm sure my grandma probably had diabetes if they had checked for it back then (let's just say 10 pound plus babies! )

Tasha--Hope those pills work for ya!

My appt. went well. I have my US on MOnday. The doc says my weight is good. The babies heartbeats were both around 163 and they were BUSY this morning! They were moving all around while the nurse was trying to check the heartbeats! My doc did warn me that around 28-30 weeks, I might have to cut back on my work schedule and start resting more. I'm hoping that I will surprise her and be just fine! I'm a pretty active gal! WE'll see how that goes...

I'll write more later! Good night gals...

CasyP - I am glad you are doing well. I hope you get your scan soon. If I fail the 3-hour test, they will start doing more scan to keep an eye on Makayla's size and development. I am glad though because I will get to see her again. It is funny, but I am already dreaming about how she will be and I talk to her all the time. We even hold conversations where I talk and she kicks back. Good Luck!

Kim - I hope you are able to stay active, but it is very uncommon in twin pregnancies. Our bodies just aren't built to handle 2 or more babies. At least they are big. The bigger they get the better their chances of have no problems at birth. I am excited to hear about what they are once they get here. I am glad you were able to hold out. How is the room going?

I am doing better today. The asthma is still bothering me, but not as bad. DH is recoving from the cold quicker than I did, but our little one has a fever this morning. Take one down, pass it a round.....

I have started my diet in earnest so I might have a chance at passing the GTT, but my nurse called last night and explained that with number like I had and the fact that I was fasting, there is little chance I will pass. I cried a little last night, but this morning I was back to normal and ready to face te problem. At least they are going to put me on a pump for the blood thinner so I do not have to continue to inject myself and if the glucose is needed they will put it on the pump as well. That will be sooooooooo nice. No more needles and a nurse will come visit me once a week (this means I will hear Makayla once a week too).

Happy Friday Girls!

Hello everyone and happy Friday!

Colleen- I hope everything turns out fine with your baby. I had a friend that experienced something similiar and it did turn out to be blood and not an intestinal problem. She like you was very concerned. I pray everything will turn out fine for your baby. :-)

Kim you are such an admiration to me. :-) I am struggling with the size of 1 I can not imagine 2 in there. I know a lady that has had 3 sets of twins went full term as like it was only one, so it can be done! Hopefully you will be able to stay pretty normal till the end :-)

Racheal- So sorry about the glucose test. I get my results on Friday, hopefully I don't have to worry about it but who knows :-) I think at this point I NEED a strict diet :-)

CasyP- I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Tasha- I hope you too are feeling better and enjoying the birthing classes :-)

All for us is good, just counting the days. I have still been having the pains down my left side but I am cooping okay. I have a doctor's appt. on Friday and I will get my glucose test results. I then get to start seening a new doc in April. I still have not decided on where I want to go. :-(

Well everyone have a nice weekend!

Happy Friday Girls....
Thankfully this week is over with. I'm feeling about 75% better, which is great. Plus we don't have to much going on this weekend so I'll get to rest more.... we are however moving our spare bed & dresser to my girlfriends house since we'll need that room for Aubrey. We're renting a truck and it should all be moved out by tomorrow morning. Then it's time to clean and start painting.... fun!

Cowgirl- glad to hear things are going well for you... I'll keep my fingers crossed that you pass your glucose test. Enjoy your weekend sweetie...

Racheal- glad to hear your asthma is doing better... hopefully it stays that way for the rest of your pregnancy. However, I'm sorry to hear you failed the glucose test.... but at least you have a good indication why. And like you said at least you'll probably be able to see Makayla a lot more now.

Kim- glad to hear your OB appointment went well. Heartbeats sound great.... I'm thinking 2 girls! Well hopefully you don't have to start resting to early... if your anything like me that would drive me crazy.

CasyP- sorry to hear your not feeling well either.. something is going around and it stinks. Get better soon...

Colleen- I will keep you and your little one in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully it is something so minor and everything turns out great at delivery time. However, that's great news that your little one is 2.1lbs. already....

As for everyone else I hope your all doing great and taking care of your bellies....

Have a great weekend everyone!
Tasha
