Congrats, miss molly! That's so great that you can see how well formed he is. You must be very releived with those results from the nuchal scan. I'm scheduled for that test on April 16th (week 12) - praying for wonderful numbers like yours. The OB said since I will be 35 when I deliver, I may want to consider an amnio if the nuchal scan odds are not in my favor. The thought of it terrifies me.

If it wasn't for the nuchal scan, I wouldn't have another ultrasound til week 20. Quite a change from the weekly scans at the RE. Switching to an OB and being treated like a normal pregnancy is a shock to the system.

Wisconsingal - good luck on Monday! Thinking of you!

The nauseau isn't bad this week. Saturday, I was at my worst but this week has been very mild to no sickness at all. So strange how symptoms come and go.

Talk to everyone soon!

Hi girls,

I haven't posted in awhile here, but I've been reading about everyone. I'm glad that everyone is having such great news. It is getting exciting for everyone to be nearing the end of m/s and getting past the 12 week mark. I went to my first ob appointment yesterday and it was so fun. Everyone was so nice and excited for us. I have been waiting to be on that end for 6 years!

Kholton- We lived in Boise because my husband finished his schooling at BSU and interned at Micron. His brother worked there and got him a job. He then went on to work at BSU until we moved. We haven't been back because we see them at other family functions, but we'd really like to make it back some time. I'll have to let you know if we do!

Wisconsingal- Good luck with everything. I hope you hear wonderful news on Monday.

So we got a call yesterday from our adoption agency saying there was a brithmom that wanted to meet us. She hasn't picked us, but likes us the best out of all the couples she's looked through. We haven't told our caseworker we are pregnant yet, because we wanted to at least get past the 12 week mark so we weren't pulled off the list and then something happen to the baby. So we get to meet her next week. She isn't due til August so I can't really see her wanted to pick us if our baby is due in October. But if she still feels like we're the family for her then we would love that baby as much as our own and have "twins" two months apart!! Llife is so crazy. I feel like I'm just waiting...waiting for my bfp, waiting for u/s, waiting for heartbeats, and now waiting to see if she'll want to pick us after she finds out we're pregnant. Anyway, have a great week everybody! Hope all continues to go well.

Wisconsingal, all that waiting much be so hard for you but hang in there girl! I'm keeping everything crossed for you!

Missmolly, that's wonderful news :D It's such an unforgettable experience seeing the baby look like a human being for the first time... Glad to hear everything looked so good!

Shanny, wow, you guys definitely have a lot on your plate :) Good luck with the process.

As for me, I haven't had any preggo symptoms in a while now, so I'll be so happy to go in for my 12+ wks appointment next week. Hopefully all will be well and I can breathe more easily... A week after that I'll have the "proper" nuchal scan+ BW at a specialist's office (my OB doesn't do them) so then we should know more about that. I've been quite anxious to reach two milestones: the traditional 12 week mark (5 more days to go!) and my previous m/c, which happened at 12w6d. I hope in two weeks I'll still be here and marveling at the little miracle snuggling in my tummy...

Have a great week everyone!

Miss Molly,That's fantastic results on the Nuchal Scan. I hope mine are like that in 2 weeks. I have mine on the 3rd of April.

Haylie, I honestly don't know what to advise you. I don't think I would let my hubby go if he left me but of course I might be singing from a different hymn sheet if I was in your situation. I admire you so much, you have so much to contend with and I wish you all the luck in the world and I think you should just follow your heart and do what's right for you and your baby.

I can't believe it but my nausea has eased off. I only have a little in the evenings now but it wouldn't stop me from doing anything or going out now. Before I just wanted to hibernate.

I hope everyone is well and enjoying their pregnancies.

Welcome Rae - that's fab news about a natural BFP, congratulations!

Liz - when is your next scan? Mine is on the 26th March so I'm counting down the days until I can see my baby again!

Ems and Miss Molly - your scans sounded amazing, congratulations

Wisconsingal - am thinking of you and praying your wee one will be waving to you on 26th.

Kelly - how awful your rash dounds. My skin was really itchy unp until about week 6, I was told it was the hormone changes but luckily I didn't have a rash. I hope it gets better soon

Erin - thanks for the tip, I will definitley be giving that a go. I hope your sikcness gets better soon. Although I'm not showing yet my sister and my cousin who are both pregnant were showing by the time they were 6 weeks!! They both had lovely little bumps, I suppose it just depends on the person and you do have 2 little ones growing in there, bring on the maternity clothes I can't wait to wear them. It's so strange I'm slowly allowing myself to look at maternity clothes in the shops and at babies in prams, before I had to turn away but now I keep pinching myself and think that will be me soon, I still can't believe it

anyway have a good day/night all

rash

Post by boomer »

Kelly,
I had a rash too last week that was itching like crazy - my doctor said that since i'm pg now, i'm more sensitive to allergies, and it may be that i developed a new allergy to something i normally am not allergic to. It went away but it took about a week. my doctor told me to use the benadryl but i never did cause i was too scared. Now i'm going crazy trying to figure out what caused it. and you're right, nothing i read mentions anything about a rash in the first trimester. Right now i'm almost 6 weeks. have first u/s next week.

Welcome amcsmith!

Haylie, thanks for the welcome. I was sorry to read about your dilemma, that's a tough call. Did you decide what feels best for you?

This is going to sound really silly, but I'm so jealous (and worried) reading about everyone else's big(ger) boobs. Mine were swollen and sore too in the beginning but now they've been back to normal for a week or two, maybe a little more veiny though. It's not that I want to go any bigger  but I was just wondering if I should be worried about this? Since I don't have any other symptoms either? I know not everyone goes bigger this early but what about getting a lot of breast symptoms first and then nothing?

Rae76 -

You are not alone. I had a similar situation. For the first couple of weeks, my boobs were sore, etc, then by week5-6, I only felt discomfort with them every once in a while. Now I basically don't feel any difference. Like you, may be a tiny bit vienier and just a dash fuller, but not even a bra size change.

I saw my OB for the first time this week - I read in the some of the paperwork they sent me home with that breast tenderness symptoms subside mid-late in the first trimester. I'm 9 weeks now and figure it is must be normal since I'm past mid-trimester.

Still can't help but worry about every change in symptom. That's my biggest problem - I get symptoms on and off - nothing consistent and it freaks me out. I was nauseaous for a week - now I'm just hungry. I'm still waiting for the tiredness to kick in - I get mildly tired but nothing like a lot of the ladies get. I only sleep about 9 hrs a day and still stay up watching TV till 11pm.

Try not to worry - I sure we are 'normal' :)

Hi guys, just wondering if I could crash your party. I'm due 9/13/07...we had a natural conception one month after our first IVF attempt failed. We met with our OB for the first time on Weds...much different then going to the RE, huh?

Anyway, I haven't really joined any of the pregnant threads yet, and would be thrilled if I could join this one!

Welcome meg12 and amcsmith! This is such a fun thread and everyone is so great. It's nice because a lot of people are experiencing different things so there's a lot to relate to. Meg, how wonderful to get a natural bfp! After going through any ivf I think everyone deserves one! Congrats everyone on positive scans and ultra sounds, I don't always talk to each individual person, but I love to hear all your progress. My next u/s is 3/29/ the day before my b-day so I really hope all is well. I still have a little m/s but nothing unbearable. I can't believe how lucky I have been. My chest is tender if I'm bumped, but not all the time now like it used to be.

Hope everyone has another good week. Any baby bumps showing yet? I'm not but I feel like any flab I've had has kind of rounded. I'm sure I just look fat! When are you guys starting to buy maternity clothes? I want to wait a bit, but I don't want them to pull all the summer clothes out to get ready for the fall and then be hot the last couple months of the summer. Anyway hope you are all well!

Karen, thank you so much for your reply - it made me feel so much better!!! There are always these conflicting feelings: on the one hand I know that some symptoms just go away and some people don't get them to the same extent as others, on the other there's this "mother knows best" thing about having this intuition about your baby. Some days I'm really desperate and on others hopeful... the joys of pregnancy I guess. But thank you so much for sharing, it's nice to know that this can well be "normal" too. And it's also nice to not be the only one who worries - not that I want anyone to have to worry but at least it makes me feel less like a crazy person

Welcome Meg!

Well, two more days to go until the 12 week mark but really I'm only waiting for my next scan which will be on Thursday.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Welcome Meg12!!! Like Shanny said, this is a great thread and we are all pretty close together so it is a ton of fun! It gets pretty addicting actually. I don't have any close friends that are PG with me so I love hearing everyone talk about ther experience. Hope Pregnancy is going well for you! Take care~
