Hello Girls.....

Ok so I have scheduled my GTT for Monday... I'm taking the day off. Hopefully I won't get sick and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I pass.

Kim- glad to hear that your friend & Baby B are doing good... please keep us posted and I'll make sure to keep them both in my thoughts and prayers.

Colleen- Wow 5 weeks... lets hope everything stays normal for the next 5 weeks and there is no need for you to go into L&D. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.... just remember to lay low and take it easy. Don't do anything that will make those contractions come back.... keep them away for at least 5 weeks.

I hope that the rest of you girls are doing well and taking care of your little ones....

Tasha

Colleen--Does your husband know any cops? That ALWAYS gets me out of duty....I have several friends and a former roomate who are cops, and the lawyers never seem to want to keep me on the jury. I guess they figure I might side with the cops. Anyway, if there's ever been a time to NOT be on duty, I think this might be a case? Good luck, and hopefully the trial will be shorter than expected. TAke it easy and keep your little one in there until the trial is over! I hope!

Thanks for the advice about the spot. I've had nothing today, so I'm really not worried anymore. I'll totally mention it at my next appt. A friend told me the same thing happened to her and it was totally no big deal.

Happy Friday Girls.... thankfully this week is almost over with. Plus I'm off on Monday (not to do anything fun though).

Well this weekend is another busy weekend for us... might as well do it while I still have the energy. We have a wedding tomorrow, but thankfully it will be an early night due to the fact that DH has to work at 7:00am on Sunday. Then Sunday late morning/afternoon we're going shopping for the baby's room furniture. I can't wait... once it is all purchased I'll feel like I've accomplished some more.

Hope everyone is doing well and taking care of your growing bellies.... also here's wishing everyone a great weekend!

Hey gals...

I had a scare last night and ended up at L&D today.... :?

I had another one of those blood "spots" and then had some unusual cramps/tugs down there throughout the night. So, this morning, I called my OB's office. The nurse thought I should be seen right away, as she was afraid it might be preterm labor. Unfortunately, no docs were seeing patients today, so they sent me to the hospital down the street to see the doc on call.

I had a feeling everything would be okay, but I just wanted to make sure...the nurse had me nervous! After a few hours of monitoring, cervical inspection, urine test, and a cervical swab (to make sure I wouldn't be going into labor soon..), all looked okay! Yeah! The only thing that showed up was that I had a little blood in my urine. So, they think the blood I was seeing was actually from my urine. How? Who knows...it's not a UTI, so we're just playing the "wait and see" thing. I have to wonder if it's being caused by the Pepcid AC my doc has me taking. I'd been having really bad heartburn and TUMS wasn't really doing it anymore. So, my OB prescribed Pepcid....a few days later I'm peeing a bit of blood. Any connection?

Well, here's to hoping the blood is done. If not, I'll address the pepcid issue with the doc.

I'm off to a HUGE babysale tonight! The twins club is having a garage sale type of thing. I'm hoping to get good deals on some gently used items.

Have a good weekend!

Kim- talk about scary.... thankfully everything seems to be ok. I hope that is turns out to be nothing and the blood stops for good (or at least until the twins are really ready to come). Please keep us posted... and have fun at the baby sale!

Hello Ladies!!!!!

Kim- I am glad everything is okay!!!!! Please becareful, those beautiful babies need to cook several weeks longer!

Tasha good luck on the GTT test today! I got my results back on Friday from the 1 hour test and all was good. Mine was 105 and they said they don't send you for the longer test unless it is around 140.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend! Mine was some what relaxing but still got several little things knocked out. :-) I seen the OB I have been seeing for the last time on Friday unless something bad happens in the next week. My military insurance runs out on the 29. I can pick up company insurance, but I am having trouble getting the form from the military that says I lost coverage so I can pick it up from work. I think I have it resolved but it may take 2 weeks to get the proper paperwork! ERRRRRRRRRG Then I still have yet to find a refered doctor that is associated with the hospital I want to have the baby in. I mainly work with Men and most of my friends have not had children in years ;-) The hospitial I want to go to is about a 40 minute drive from home and about 5 minutes from work. It has a newly remodled labor and delivery area and is a Level II NICU. I want to go there so I can get a doc close to work for those "frequent" visits near the end. There are no hopitials close to were I live because we are very rural as we are part time farmers too. :-) So if anyone has any friends in San Antonio that has had a baby at Northeast Babtist hospital and has any good or bad experiences with doctors, please let me know! :-)

Well take care everyone,
Cowgirl

Hello Girls... What a beautiful Monday it is here..... I'm kind of happy I took the rest of the day off.

Colleen- Your right this weather is wonderful... It was so nice out yesterday and today is even better... I pulled out all my gauchos & tank tops. I so don't want to go to class tonight... I'd rather be out walking w/ DH.

Cowgirl- I hope that you get all your insurance issues taken care of... and I hope you find a great doctor at the hospital you want. Please keep us posted...

As for us we're doing good. I had my GTT this morning at 7:30am... the drink wasn't that bad (although it was sweeter than last time and almost made me sick, but I made sure I kept it down). It was just so boring sitting there for 3 hours... The send my blood out so I'm hoping to get a call from my doctor either tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest. If I don't hear from them by Wednesday late afternoon I'm going to call them.... I'm anxious to find out if I passed or not this time. We also had a busy weekend.... the wedding was wonderful and it was too funny we saw a couple from our Childbirth Class there... talk about a small world. Then yesterday DH had to work at 7:00am and then after that we met my parents at Babies-R-Us to buy all the baby's furniture. My Dad was wonderful... he paid for everything (except the mattress). They said the furniture should be in in about 7-14 days. Then we have to go there and inspect it and then set up delivery... I'm hoping to have it all delivered by April 14th. I can't wait.... This way the room will be painted and the border will be up... then all we'll have to do is add last minute touches.

Well enough about us... hope all you girls are doing wonderful.

Tasha

Hi gals!

I'm happy to report that I've been spot free since Friday, so that's good! :) But, boy, am I getting tired! We've had gorgeous weather too, so I've been making myself go on walks and enjoy the good weather.

Tasha--I'm glad you didn't get sick with your test. I hope the results turn out okay. I can't wait to see pictures of the nursery! I'm sure it will look great. I hope you have better luck with a matress than we did. We've had turn return several because they weren't snug enough....I don't believe there's any such thing as a "standard size" crib matress!

Colleen--I DID get a bunch of stuff at the baby sale! I got an exersaucer for $25 (it's in great shape, just needed a bit of cleaning!). I got an unused activity mat/gym for $8 (regularly $60), plus a lot of other good deals. I haven't seen my OB since the hospital visit, but I will definitely address the pepcid issue next time I see her. Our local pharmacist confirmed that it's safe for pregnancy, so who knows--it could have been something random!

cowgirl--I'm glad you passed your GTT! That's great news! Good luck finding a new doc. Can you get COBRA coverage in case there's a lapse from the military to the company? I'm pretty sure that might be an option for you. I hope things turn out well...

I hope everyone else is well! nance--haven't heard from you in a while. I hope all's okay! I can't believe how close we're all getting to the final weeks! Ooh--I just felt a kick!

You are my hero Kim, PG with TWO and still have the energy to shop and take walks :-) I love to walk and have done quite a bit of it, but if I walk long it usually starts BH contractions so I am careful.

I am not afraid in the lapse in coverage issue, just getting the documentation in time for a NEW local provider to verify and then be able to visit. I have been calling the office everyday that issues the release certificate and I think in my state they have made me a priority so it shouldn't take too long and I do have a place to go till friday. Then if something happens I can always go to an emergency room, I will have to pay but it will be reimburseable once the proper forms are finalized at least so I have been told.

Tasha good luck on the results today, please let us know.

And yah, how are you Nance?

Take care everyone,
Cowgirl

Cowgirl--you make me laugh! I'm just trying to survive this like the rest of us... Speaking of Braxton Hicks...what do they feel like? I did have a few pains towards the end of my walk yesterday (so I obviously stopped...). I didn't know if it was ligaments or maybe BH? Fill me in as to what to expect...

Thanks!

Hi girls
Looks like a few of you have had scares but glad things seem to be settling down again.

Kim- Sorry to hear you had to go to L&D, but glad that you have been spot free since and fingers crossed that won't happen again.

Cowgirl-Glad you passed the GTT. Hope you can sort out the insurance.

Colleen- Glad you've been enjoying the nice weather and hope your still relaxing.

Tasha- Hope you get the GTT results soon and that you pass them with good results

We had our 20 week scan today. So pleased that all looks well with babe, huge relief. The scan was really clear so was great to see baby again. Managed to keep to the decision not to find out the sex, but have to say was very tempting! Still have gut feeling its a girl.
Have also sat down tonight andfilled in all my maternity leave application forms. I am leaving the 11 weeks before the due date, as my childminder has had to reduce her hours and my mum and dad are helping me out short term so I don't lose my maternity pay. Then I can take 9 months paid leave. Looking forward to a lovely summer!

Take care all

Kim to answer your question ligament pains are usually sharp and on ONE side. It really does feel like streching. BH are a tightening that extends across the entire mid section. At least that is my experience. When I am out walking I stop for a few minutes or sit down if I start to feel BH and they stop.

I would think with twins you would really want to minimize your BH because they help your body get ready for labor and with a good percentage of twins coming early your body won't need any help. But I must say from the several different boards that I am on by the sounds of it you are one of the lucky ones that is experiencing a realitivly smooth twin pregnancy. :-) I know one lady that has had 3 sets of twins and her body is equiped for that because her twin pgs have been as normal as most of our singleton pgs. I also worked with a woman that had a relatively normal twin pg, didn't feel too bad, not too much swelling, not too many BH and just went into labor at 36 weeks, which is great for a twin PG. :-) I have this feeling you are going to be one of the fortunate ones maily because you haven't been having the onset of issues now where many of the people pg with twins on a 28 week list that I am on are having left and right.

Take care and I can't wait to see pics of all the precious bundles this summer!

Cowgirl--based on what you said, then what I felt was defitnitely a ligament pain. I hope you're right about a relatively smooth pregnancy! My cervix is still very long, and they tested my region to see if the babies would come in the next two weeks. The test came back negative, which is a very good thing! So, I should be safe until at least 27 weeks. :) I'm sorry to hear those other gals are having troubles. If I can get to 36 weeks, that would be fantastic! Only time will tell...

CaseyP--where do you live? I am soooooo envious of your maternity leave! We get 6 weeks paid. that's it. I am lucky, though, because I'm a teacher, so I get June, July, and August off. I just happened to have IVF at the perfect time to deliver for summer!

Good night gals!
