Hi girls,

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I had a great one. As my MS has stopped we drove to London and met up with step son and my niece too and had a lovely meal at one of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants in Grovensor Sq.. I'm sure you american ladies won't know who he is but he is a really famous chef in the UK and an exceptional one too. The food was to die for and they were wonderful and catered my courses to exclude anything that may harm a pregnancy.

When I got there my nieces face dropped when she saw my belly. I am very narrow, have no hips to mention but my bump has jumped out at the front like you wouldn't believe in this last week. I can still get in my size 10's (US 6) at the bottom but on top I have to wear 14 (US 10) now.
I was really concerned initially as I thought something was wrong, that maybe I was carrying too much water or something but the midwife said that it was fine, it is just that I am so narrow they have nowhere to go but out and because I have 2 of everything, placentas, sacs full of amniotic fluid it is likely to keep going out. I look like I am 5 months pregnant (I'm only 11.5 weeks). My DH thinks it looks so cute and neat. God help me at full term, I will topple over. I will be seeing my little ones on Tuesday this week. I have my nuchal scan so fingers crossed everything will be ok. I will be scanned once a month until birth. They do this at my hospital on twins to ensure growth is in line.

Glad everyone else is doing well and it's great to see the newcomers.

Macca--I do know who Gordon Ramsey is! He actually does a TV show here called "Hell's Kitchen". It's a riot---it's basically a reality tv contest to become a chef. He's mean and always calling the contestants names. Ah, quality American tv. Very cool that you went to one of his restaurants. I bet it was fab!
I'm jealous of your belly. I'm almost 17 weeks and you still can't tell whether I'm fat or pregnant. I really haven't gained too much weight--the first trimester was kind of bad, but I've slowed down now that I feel better. Still, the only time I really look preggers is at night when I'm all bloated! :? Oh well. I'm really in between clothes, too. My regular ones don't fit and the maternity ones fall to the floor on me. Luckily, I mainly wear scrubs to work so I can survive!
Well, wishing everyone the best!

Hi Ladies,

Welcome to all the newbies. It is wonderful to have all these new babies coming!! :D

Hope you and your bumps are doing well. I want to update the list but can not because my home pc is still broken :( . I never realized how addicted I was to my computer until not having it. It is driving me insane!!!

As for me, I have a level 2 ultrasound on Saturday, I am wondering if that is the same thing as the nuchal scan? But I am excited to see my lil ones again. I am bringing my 6 year old son and 10 year old step daughter so that they can see the babies too. Still having MS that makes me feel sick all day. Cant wait until that passes. I am really starting to pop out now too. I look preggers now. My OB said it is a combo between having twins and this being my second pregnancy. They said you show sooner.

So I hope you are all doing well and hopefully I will have my PC fixed soon so that I can update the list!

Hey Meg,

You're right Gordon Ramsay is quite mean, his bad language is pretty bad but his food is great. We both cook loads of his recipies.

Considering I have a bump I have only put on 2lbs since the start of the pregnancy. Initially I lost weight with the IVF (which I always did) but then since my first weigh in at 4 weeks I put 2lbs on.

I am really looking forward to seeing my babies tomorrow. I really hope everything will be alright with them. I'll update tomorrow night as my scan is not until 1830pm.

Hi everyone,

Sorry I've been out of touch. How is everyone doing?

I'm driving myself nuts - I'm feeling good, almost too good. Can I ever stop worrying? Even though any symptom I ever had was mild, they are just about all gone entirely and I'm only 10w 4d.

Has anyone had symptoms go away so early? I had an u/s last week and the little one was measuring 2 days bigger with a heart beat of 178. I keep trying to tell myself that's a good thing - and I must just be lucky that I am feeling better. Unfortunately, my OB gave me the opposite of a pep talk saying 1 in 6 women will miscarrying in the first trimester...blah blah blah, even after having such a good u/s.

Also, anyone that had the NT scan already - is it a regular u/s or is it a 3-d one?

Thanks girls! Hope you and the little ones are doing great!

Hey Lisa,

Just wanted to pop in and wish you luck with your ultrasound today. Cant wait to hear how your lil ones are doing!!!

Karen,

I imagine you would be nervous losing your ms symtoms but I would not worry. I would be thankful! My best friend NEVER had morning sickness with either one of her babies! I know this is a very trying time as we can not help but to worry and question every little thing but I have faith that you and your baby are doing well. That heartbeat is wonderfully strong so I would try and not worry.

Hope everyone is doing well. Talk to soon!

Erin

Hi everyone - things seem to be going well here :D That's wonderful!

Karen, what you posted could have been written by me three weeks ago... It's not like I had crazy symptoms to begin with, but what breast tenderness and swelling plus evening nausea I had was completely gone. And I was so worried! Well, take it easy hon - all's been going according to plan with me and now that I've gotten some reassurance in the form of two scans, I realize I was quite lucky faring so well already at that time. I mean, ms is not a great feeling  I also talked about my fears with my OB last week and she said it's completely normal for some women to start losing their strong symptoms at that time - esp. if they weren't very sick etc to begin with. So just relax - I'm sure all will turn out well!

So last week I had an appointment w/ my OB and since all looked well, I started trusting this pregnancy a little bit more. We were travelling over the weekend and I realized how much more I enjoyed being pregnant and thinking about my baby - it finally feels real to me! It also helps that my tummy popped a little - I haven't gained a lot of weight but there's a definite bump there, albeit small. I'm sure that to a stranger it would look just like a pot belly but to us it's SOOOO obvious that it's a baby belly. And of course, while on vacation, we took a lot of pics in which I'm REALLY sticking my tummy out and truly do look VERY pregnant  Silly me....

We had our nuchal scan today - it wasn't 3D but it was very sensitive and it was beautiful seeing all the little parts of our precious baby. And since the scan takes quite a while, we got to enjoy our little one for a good 15 minutes. According to the dr everything looked fine, the placenta was nicely located and nuchal thickness was within limits. For the first time we were able to see the little one's nose and facial features! They also took blood tests (we're doing a sequential screen meaning that they take blood now and later at 16 wks to screen for chromosomal abnormalities) and we won't know the results until next week. For now, though, there's no special reason to suspect anything's amiss and we are very, very happy!!!

I hope everyone else is on cloud nine too :D

rae76,

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm doing my best to try to relax but it's hard. I had a little bit of spotting last night, which always freaks me out. I really do appreciate your encouragement and understanding of the way I'm feeling :)

Congratulations on the excellent nuchal scan!! 1 1/2 more weeks for me - then hopefully I'll be able to enjoy this pregnancy a bit more like you. I bet it was amazing to see that little face. When are you due?

No weight gain yet, no bump (beyond my normal pooch). I figure since I have a retroverted uterus, I may not show as quickly as normal people since the uterus is further in the back of my body.

I wish some pregnancy books or internet sites talked about those people that lose their symptoms early. Not much out there on those topics.

Have a great day ladies. Thanks again,
Karen

Karen, hopefully you can put your mind to ease after your scan. But I know how it is - no matter what anybody says, the insecurity and fears are hard to bear. Hang in there sweetie! And you're so right about there not being much info about women who lose their symptoms early - there's no reliable literary or Internet source clearly saying it can be OK. Instead, if you google it, you'll get all kinds of discussion threads where, inevitably, someone will be saying that it means a MC. That sucks, as it's clearly possible for it to be normal...

My due date is Oct 8 and the scans have shown that to be fairly accurate as an estimate. I was actually surprised I didn't get a bump sooner, as my uterus is tilted forward and should show early. Well, I guess this is still pretty early :D And my bump really is tiny - you wouldn't be able to tell unless you knew me, but it's definitely different from my normally flat tummy. I love touching it and imagining the baby beneath the bulge...

Thanks again, Rae76. I'm doing better - feeling better about it all. I rented a doppler and I was able to listen to the baby's heartbeat at home. It's tough to find at 11 weeks with a titled uterus, but I found it :) Gives me a boost of reassurance that my little one is doing just fine.

Almost at the 12 week mark - can't wait!!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hey Ladies,

Hope you all are doing well. Saturday I had another ultrasound and got to see the babies. They are doing so well. They are about the same size and there heartbeats are just a few beats off. One was a wild child, moving about and woke up the other baby. I took my DS and step daughter with me to see them and they were in awe of how much they already looked like babies. My next OB appointment is on the 24th and I am hoping that they will schedule the next US to find out the sex of these lil ones. Will keep you all updated and will be looking forward to reading yours!

Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. I'm assuming no news is good news??????

I'm feeling pretty good. Still getting headaches pretty much everyday---man, it's killing me. And other than the fact that I think I'm carrying this baby in my butt instead of in my uterus (I'm telling you, my butt is getting huge!) I'm doing great.

I go in in the morning to do an ultrasound. I'm nervous because it seems like it's been forever since my last one--and I suppose it was at like 10 weeks so it has been awhile. Here's praying that everything looks like it should. I'm also hoping to find out the sex!!!!!!! I'm so excited/nervous that I'm afraid I won't be able to sleep. I guess the worry never really leaves, does it?

Well, hope everyone is hanging in there.....Give a shout so I know you're all doing ok!

Hey everyone!

Glad to hear you are doing well Meg! You have to report back on the sex of your little one! I love finding out! We have another month or so until we know but I can't wait myself. Good luck and Ihope everything is coming along as it should.

We have just been enjoying the ride since the nuchal scan came back good. Finally, these two are starting to want to show a little. Up until now I had nothing and everyone was acting like I was killing them! Honestly, people were calling me asking why I hadn't gained any weight and asking if I was on a diet while Pg? I have not only increased my calories but my high impact sports have been gone as well so you would of thought I would gain it fast but I just didn't. Guess people expect you to be the size of a small country with twins!

Other than that, we are getting ready to start the nursery by cleaning things out and emtying the room. Now we are getting to the fun stuff!

Hope everyone is growing right along and happy as clams!
Take care~

Okay, that ultrasound was the most fun I think I've ever had...It's sooo different from the 11 week one. I still can't believe how much the baby had grown and how much she moves around. It boggles my mind that I haven't felt her move yet--the whole hour and a half we were in there she never sat still! (And yes, it's a girl!!!!!!!)

Kholtan--Congrats on the clear nuchal scan. What a relief to have that behind you. It is fun planning the nursery, isn't it? I can't wait to go buy some baby clothes!!!! This is going to be one spoiled little girl--she's the first grandchild on my side and on my husband's side they only have two little boys. I'm still floating on cloud nine. I asked my husband if we could get an us machine to have at home so I could look at her anytime I wanted to but he said no. He's mean

Meg, congrats on your little girl. I'm 15 1/2 weeks and have gained 8lbs, all in my but and thighs!!! I swear, i have gone up to 2 sizes in pants, but still no baby pooch yet. I have an appt on Thursday with my OB, but my big ultrasound isn't until May 17th. They are going to do a level 2 ultrasound because my DD was born with kidney problems (most likely not genetic) but they just want to be able to look better. I'm pretty excited to see if you can see things more clearly? Hope all is going well.
