Welcome to the group Steph! Glad to hear you got your schedule and have your cycle all planned out. Bummer that you had to have another Hysteroscopy! Looks like you will be way ahead of me, I don't start until my June AF starts. I will be having ER and ET toward the end of June...hopefully!

Hi everyone,
Well I have officially started round #2. 3 months to the day since I started my 1st cycle. I had my 1st BCP and will get my dates for everything confirmed with the clinic in the next few days. Everything closes down on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday in New Zealand so I am enjoying a nice long weekend. I’m thinking of inviting a few friends around for dinner tomorrow. I have a boneless leg of lamb as a starting point but feel like being creative with and entrée, main and something special for dessert. Any ideas for a menu from my fellow May and June cycle buddies???.

Sophie
Thanks for your kind words. I am feeling pretty good about things starting again. Just physically feeling good makes a huge difference and I think it was just how bad I felt for a couple of weeks after finishing the medication that threw me for a loop….
DH and I had a good talk about everything last night, he is concerned about the effect it will have on me if things don’t go right this time and doesn’t want to see me putting myself though this again and again, he also still feels bad that we are having to go through all this because he had a vasectomy 18 years ago. I keep reassuring him that back then he had no idea he would meet me and I would much rather be with a man I love than in an unhappy marriage with a couple of kids – and at least we can say we tried to have a family.

Jenn – how did the shopping go? I hope you found lots of lovely outfits. I totally understand having to get now clothes for an interview and new job! It just wouldn’t do wearing what you wore last year – also you deserve it! I started a new job a couple of weeks ago – and yes new clothes were needed…… also doing an AF jig for you 

Tanya – I hope you are keeping warm, that weather doesn’t sound fun at all. I think the seasons are totally changing. In December, the beginning of our summer it was more like winter (cold, windy and we had the fire on a lot of the time).
Today it is perfect clear blue sky not a breath of wind and lovely and warm outside, we have a few fall leaves around but not many.

Carolyn – Enjoy your non IVF weekend, it is good to get away from it sometimes and focus on something else. Have a great time with your family. PS glad the sun is shining – doesn’t it do wonders for your mood.

Steph - Welcome, I was in the Jan thread also – I sorry things didn’t work out but I hope we are all celebrating arrivals of our new babies early next year. Wouldn’t it be a great way to start the year? I’m glad you have found your perfect match and have the opportunity to try and have a child together. Isn’t is great when you feel someone is really on your side and you get a call saying you are funded for 2 more cycles – CONGRATULATIONS (I hope you will only need the first one to get your BFP though !!!)

I hope you all have a lovely Easter,

Take care and until next time……

Angela- can't help you with a menu as I can't cook worth a toot! I wouldn't know what to do with a leg of lamb if it hit me in the face. Good luck and have fun! Let us know how it turned out.

Hey Girls!

Jenn...about getting your meds cover...Freedom Pharmacy is who I used from my last cycle. They apparently give a discount on meds. I can't seem to find the #, but I am sure you can look it up online! Aren't you enjoying the weather here...sunny and a cool 70 something down here in my neck of the woods!

Tanya...YEAH on getting your calendar! I always feel better when I am working toward something. That makes you feel like the is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am so glad that I could help you out. I liked how you put it..."Pay it forward!" I hope that you can!

WELCOME Steph! This is a great group of women to be able to rely on...with a ton of stories and information to share! Hope this cycle is lucky for you!

Well, today I found out some interesting information from my RE. I tested positive on my thrombophelian level test for factor 2. What that means exactly is that I am prone to clotting. So that is probably why I had a miscarriage on my last IVF cycle. She wants me to see a hematologist before I start my next IVF cycle. UGGGGHHHH!!!! That just makes me want to scream!!! Why didn't they test me as a baseline before IVF #1. So hopefully we can prevent this from happening again. She is also putting me on Lovenox...which is apparently like heparin? Tanya, you would probably know better that me, because you are a RN. Any insight anyone has on this would be greatly appreciated.

Gotta run...my husband is hungry and we are going out to eat!! Hope everyone is doing well!
Happy Easter to EVERYONE!!! :D

Hello everyone,

I am Souris, not new to the board but I have not posted much lately as I had a hard time and was not feeling very well. I am now ready to start again and would like to join your group girls!

This will be my 4th IVF. I got a BFP on my 3rd attempt but miscarried at 3 months, in November. I had a D&C done here in Dubai (DH and I live here) and waited 3 months to start again. So I went to France in January to have a new cycle, and before starting, I had an hysteroscopy done to see if all was well and we found out that I had some placenta left. So we waited another month to see if it would go with my periods but no luck. So (oh joy) I had another d&C last month.

I have now started my periods so I contacted my doc and she said I can start downregg on the 28th of April and stimms soon after. I am very excited and very apprehensive at the same time.
I need to fly back to France, Dh wont come with me as he needs to work!

Hope everyone is well and I am happy to be one of yours!

Hello All-Welcome all newcomers! Please feel free to join right in and enjoy a chat with the best board around! LOL

Things are going well for me. I am just about finished with school this semester and that is a relief for me. I start Spring Classes the first week of May. I got my RX's today and have to get the meds ordered....

Souris
Welcome. So sorry to see that you lost your baby that far along. I am right there with you on that one and it was the hardest thing that I have ever had to go through. So glad that you came back! Great support system. You will be starting up again so soon! That is great-we will be here to cheer you on!!!!

Steph
Wecome-sounds like you have been through the mill as well. I hope that you will find support and encouragement by coming to this board. It has been so wonderful for me...lots of great info.

Jen
Please do not forget to send me your address!!! Lovenox does the same thing as heparin. It is just a different form. Basically it breaks the clotting cascade in a different place but it basically "thins the blood" and you are less likely to clot. The shots are not a big deal I give them every day and the most that people say is that they have bruising at the injection site and it is a bit stingy...not horrid or anything. I have heard it works wonders. I will be taking baby aspirin for clotting....

Jenn
Oh yeah it is still snowing. We now have several inches. I cant believe this. All of the flowers are covered in snow!!! LOL this is nuts. I need to move somewhere else. I thought that it was spring....apparently no one knows that arround here! hehe..hope that you are well.

Carolyn
Hey girl WASSSUP!!!! oh sorry got a little excited. It is the middle of the night here and it is my day off (and I work third shift so I am wide awake). Woo Hoo! I am going to run to the grocery store before everyone else gets there. So happy that it is sunny there and a nice day. You need that and the sun not only is nice and bright it warms the soul! Have a good weekend...

Have a good Easter Everyone!!!

This might sound werid...but I read somewhere that women drink pineapple juice or eat pineapple during the 2ww. What is that suppose to do?

Welcome Souris! Glad you decided to join the group. So sorry to hear about your loss. This thread has been a great support system to me! Are you from Dubai? That seems like another world away from here.

Tanya...I can't believe that it is snowing there! Lately it has been in the 80's, but today they said it will probably get into the 50's!!! That was a tease with the spring weather! I already started working on my tan! :D

Well...Hello to everyone else! Hope everyone is doing well!!!

Hey Jenn...or anyone else who wants to know,
I found the info on the meds. Freedom Pharmacy: 800.660.4283 and Fertility LifeLines: 866.538.7879 or fertilitylinelifes.com.
They apparently give discounts on IVF meds. I used Freedom Pharmacy last time and they were great! Got my meds the next day. Hope that helps.

Hello
I used Freedom and I just placed an order! They were great and I also got my meds the next day. They are really helpful. In fact I just called to have the PIO changed to the ethyl oleate-Thanks to Jen!!! I had never heard of that before but after much research it looks like a great option...I hope that it works good!

Still lightly snowing here and there is supposed to be egg hunts galore around here and I don't see many of them happening!!! I bet they didnt plan for snow! I am going to color Easter eggs with my mom and boys tonight and I will have to update my blog...

Happy Easter girls! We went home for a visit this weekend and ate our way through Louisiana! I am tired and full and happy to be home!

It is chilly! There was sleet on the roof at parents house this morning.

We use Freedom drug- they called me about my prescription, but we were gone. Going to call tomorrow. I think we get our third set of Gonal-Rff free if we get that far. This is #2. Hopefully lupron, vivelle patches, PIO, estrace, and antibiotics will be covered. I am thinking of moving up my cycle to May.

Oh- my nurse told me that they did switch to the different PIO. It is thinner and will use a thinner needle. DH was thrilled!! He nearly passes out with that big fat needle every time he has to give me the shot!

Gotta go. Have a date with a heating pad. AF started full blast today. About time after her dissapearence last week! Oh the pain!!

goodnight,

Jenn

Hello lovely ladies!

How was your Easter weekend? I hope you enjoyed some great time either with friends, partner or your family! Mine was okay; we went to my family in Quebec city for a short visit. It was great to see my family but a bit short as usual.

On the IVF side, nothing new except that I got my meds! And surprise; I was prescribed Repronex this time in addition to the Puregon. Apparently, it burns and I'll have 150 units to inject each day; that's two bottles! whoa! I guess he prescribed me that because I was a bit slow to respond during my stimming in my first cycle. Because in the end, we got 14 eggs 100% mature, so... Let's hope it's worth it! So far so good; he did not prescribed fire-for-the-butt meds but I'm not celebrating yet; I'm sure it's coming... lol!

Jenn: so glad you got some money from the taxes refund! And what a lovely way to use it! :D So, what did you buy, any luck? :D Awwwwwwww I'm so sorry about AF rearing her ugly face just to stick its tongue out and then disappear! :( Sure looks like she's here to stay now, though... ack! Sorry you're in so much pain sweetie! :( Will you start your BCP tomorrow? I'll be looking forward to hear about your calendar! ;) Good luck with the meds sweetie... would that mean that you would do your cycle earlier than planned if you do it in May? I think you planned for June, right?

TansRN: nah, of course you're not silly to be excited about your calendar! :D As for the intensive-POASing, there are many opinions. I definitely don't want to POAS during this 2ww but that's just me. I really hope we'll have that super-excited BFP post! :D And about the snow, well, same here up north! The weather was very December-like these last few days! ew! But I'm sure it will be better. And in about 13 days, I won't care, ha, because I'll be in Egypt! LOL!

Carolyn: Well, it sure sounds like your clinic will keep a super-close eye on you, and that's bound to be reassuring during the tricky times. :D Glad you feel well taken care of sweetie! By all means I agree with your consultant. I don't know who that Zita West is, but I'd like to see studies that support that shocking declaration she makes. And well, about the baths, I agree 100% on the overheating risk (hence why I take them cooler), but for the infections, I'm really puzzled. Neither ER nor ET creates a wound that could be infected by bath water! Especially if, as we all know, water doesn't get past the cervix!

My2LnT: WELCOME! :D It's so great to see familiar faces! I remember you very well from the Dec/Jan thread! Thank you for sharing your story with us sweetie. It's really sad that you had to go through 2 BFNs in the past... sure makes hope bittersweet for another cycle after that, huh? You went through a lot my dear, and I hope this ride will be smoother and bring you that BFP you're hoping for. That calendar looks fab and I'll add you to the list with great joy!

arizonakiwi: YAY! CONGRATULATIONS on starting your cycle officially! Isn't it exciting? :D :D :D What a coincidence that it started on the same day! My dear, the way you talk about your DH is very sweet and beautiful. Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside! :) They all worry about us, don't they, even if they don't always want to talk about the cycle and babies and all, they do worry about us and hate the fact that we have to go through all this. But those challenges do bring us closer together each time. Did you get your calendar?

jen: awwwww! ugh indeed! So frustrating that they did not find that out earlier! :( However, it has the good side to give you quite a big hint about what might have gone wrong last time! I really hope they can manage this with your cycle and give you the best chances! :D Keep us posted dear!

souris: WELCOME! :D Thanks for sharing your story; you're quite a trooper! I'm so sorry to read about all the things you have been through sweetheart! You really had to wait for this cycle to happen, but I wish that it brings you that BFP we all want! :D I fully understand your mixed feelings. It's hard to put the past completely behind you, and having been through a miscarriage really adds to it. But I've heard many stories here of women going through a miscarriage, recovering, trying IVF again and be blessed with a healthy pregnancy, even twins! :D Let's hope it happens for you!

Shantala: I'm really worried now... is everything all right?

Ooookay, DH is asleep already, I'll go and join him. Home sweet home! :D Take care ladies, and HAPPY EASTER to you all!
