 Hi girls

Just a quick note to tell you i got my appointment today for the Big B, 15th May at 4pm----------aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhh
Am just panicking now incase af doesnt arrive. We need to do our fsh tests as soon as it arrives then send the paperwork over. Think the time schedule will be tight but hoping everything works out ok.

Our hospital sent their paperwork today, its quite interesting to read about all my cycles and compare them. Wish i had taken off to S after the 2nd attempt as it looked like my chances were going downhill from there. The 2nd cycle was the best, with 8 eggs, 7 fert and 2 good grade 6 and 7 cell embies---it should have worked

Anyway have to move forward not look back eh

Hope you are all doing ok

Love Jen x

Okay so first a pie update - I did the pie thing… (and you are going to have to wait until the end of the story to hear the results – just like I did!!!) 8)

So Friday I baked and baked and everything that could go wrong did! I don’t know why, I have made these pies 350,000 times! But I started the pie doughs, and I was out of butter, so I went to Publix to get butter and health bars, so I went to Publix at 7:30AM to get the stuff, and got home and started the pies… and put the Cookie Dough pie in the oven, let it do it’s thing and when the buzzer rang it was over cooked! Like not burnt, but definitely over-browned… so I figured I’d make another. While I was letting that dough chill, I started the Cream Puff pie, and realized I was out of Milk! So I sent John to the store to get me some milk, and started the crust for that pie… did it, came out great! And John got back, made the pastry cream, and it turned out lovely! Then started the second Cookie Dough Pie, and after the pastry cream – I was short ONE EGG! So I called my neighbor, because I didn’t want to go to Publix for one stinking egg! And low and behold, they weren’t home… so I did what I could with out the egg…. Made the cream puff pastry… and then I needed the stupid egg… so I called my neighbor again, and this time they were home… so I got the egg and got started on the pie – well I didn’t have enough Milk Chocolate, so I substituted dark, and the health was a bit lighter than I wanted it to be… so it wasn’t has choc full of stuff… I put it in the oven, and waited 35 minutes, and pulled it out, and then it looked beautiful, it looked perfect! Set it on the counter and turned to my left and the oven mitt hit the pie right dap smag in the center of the pie, and it caused a gaping whole in the center of my beautiful pie… so then I could have laughed or cried, so I grabbed a diet coke and turned up the music and danced around my kitchen debating on making 5 more pies, or throwing in the towel… I did neither… I bought whipped cream to dap on whole if I so desired. I finished what I could for the cream puff pie, packed, showered and got ready to go…. It’s now 3PM and still haven’t eaten anything. I packed up the car, cooler for the cream puff pie, and put the pies very carefully in the pack of the SUV, with that non-slip rug stuff under them so they wouldn’t shimmy and shake all – I told John to drive safely and not to take any hard turns… this is very hard for him, but to his credit, he did great!!! He had no control over the bazillion pot holes that we went over, and I held my breath every time – I just knew the pies were going to be spilt in half by the time we got there. But when we got there and opened up the back of the car – the were fine!!! :D

So we checked into the hotel (aka The FleaBag Hotel) – it really wasn’t that bad, but room was kind of old, and they tried to hide it… but anyway, it was icky… but the pies were okay, and that was my worry… Got the pies into the room, into the fridge, and we were good to go!

I woke up at 6:15 to get the pies ready for their debut to the real world…. I assembled the cream puff pie, I decided not to use the whipped cream on the cookie dough pie, and put it in the cooler and very carefully walked to the pie check in area across the hotel. I got there, checked in – got my pies checked in, but on the way to the delivery – my pies got a good look at their competition, and can I just tell you that the other pies were BEAUTIFUL!!! I mean gorgeous! My pie was totally jealous of the other pies! I told the pie that it was okay, that the other competitors had nothing on them, and it’s what’s on the inside that counts! That made the pies feel better, but on the inside I knew that we were in trouble! But after the pies were securely taken away – all checked in, I went back to the room, and said to myself, that it was in the judges hands!!!

We went shopping for a while, then went to the ALL You can Eat Never Ending Pie Buffet! It was amazing, I ate so much pie, that I don’t want to see as much as a Pizza Pie anytime soon! I ate every single kind of pie you can imagine! Peach, Apple, Key Lime, Mango Lime, Sour Cherry, Cherry, Pumpkin, Sweet Potato, Rhubarb, Strawberry, Strawberry Rhubarb, Coconut Cream Pie, Banana Cream Pie, Chocolate Cream Pie, Chocolate Turtle Pie, Pecan Pie, Sugar Pie (don’t ask), Chess Pie, Butter Pie, Blueberry Pie, Strawberry Pie, Peanut Butter Pie, Berry Berry Pie… and a ton more!

Then we saw the car show they had going on right next to the pie stuff, and it was like 4PM and the announcements didn’t take place until 6:45, so we went back to the hotel room and showered and changed, and then went back just in the nick of time for the judging! We got there, and they had pie music on in the background! Funny, I didn’t know there was a rhubarb pie song, but uh, they found it! And they talked and talked and talked… and we waited and waited and waited… so then they started the pie announcements- they went in alphabetical order of category… apple, cherry, citrus, - cream! That’s me… nope didn’t win. Then we waited for Open, that’s were the Cookie Dough Pie was… nope didn’t win – I was really disappointed, because the winning pies, didn’t sound super delicious to me – but who am I!

We went out to dinner, and then Sunday morning I went to get my pie plates and I had my cookie dough pie (or what was left of it….) in my hands – and the Chairman of the Board came up to me and said “You made that Cookie Dough Pie, huh?” and I said yes, and he said “Well that was very good, but you also made that cream puff pie too, right?” and I said “yes”, and he said with a fairly large smile on his face “I loved that pie! I thought it certainly should have won, or placed, but we have some pie traditionalists on our judging panel, and I think they were thrown off by the crust [since the crust is all crushed nuts] so next year when you enter this pie again, make it with a traditional pie crust and mix all those nuts in, and you’ll definitely place” I said thanks, and started to look for the pie and he said “oh your pie plate is right here, it’s empty, we uh, finished it” so I grabbed my pie plate and turned around, had a big ole’ smile on my face and left – That is my honorable mention! After 400 pies, he remembered mine!

SO maybe next year!

I'll have to do personals later, but thanks for thinking about me guys! Step father is out of the hospital and at home recovering, Grandpa Joe is in a nursing home with 24 hour care, I talked to him, it was really sad, I just don't have a good feeling about it  And my bum is better - but still hurting and still bloody, but I am working on it, taking my meds and waiting for the colonscopy and endoscopy... what a week!!!

I miss you guys, alot!

Personals up next!

melissa - that was awesome pie story...... i mean, i couldnt have done it myself in gazillion years but while i was reading your story, i felt like i was in your kitchen and could smell the pie cooking in the oven.... my heart skipped a bit when you said the oven mitt caused a hole in the middle but you got a good save there... so hooray!!!!

i love pies, specially key lime pie.... yummmmmmmm and of course cream puffs..... definitely hoarding it lol...... eventhough you didnt win, im so happy that the guy remembered your pie..... and they finished it all...... thats important.... you couldve won but if no one ate your pie then it's worth nothing....

congratulations again for the awesome pie review .....

Hi everyone :D

Im so happy :D :D :D I found out today that my local hospital will do my scans for free! So I wont have to pay £1000 after all. Now we just need to get all test results and previous tmt record back and we can make an app in Barcelona.

Becky- Sorry about af, she can be a right ***** always doing the opposite of what you want or need her to do. You need to take "Bach rescue remedies" for the flight It helps the nerves with all sorts of stuff like flying, job interviews etc I've got the pastiles and Im taking them at the moment to try and calm me down with all this Barcelona stuff going on, Im feeling jittery.

Angel505-Hope you feel better soon, enjoy the hot chocolate, hope it helps.

Rachel- Im much calmer now thanks (I think the rescue remedie is helping). Well done with the weight loss, I wish I could do it.

Jen-Great news on the getting app through. I hope we are not too far behind you. Im sure everything will work out for you and you'll get a bfp!!!

Melissa- You made me laugh with your pie story  ,Well done for baking a pie to be remembered and next year Im sure you'll win!!! Glad to hear your step father is out of hospital, but sorry about your grandpa.

Hi to everyone Ive missed, Take care

Mel, great effort with the pies. You'll win next time! I wouldn't know where to to start if I had to bake a pie, only know how to eat them!

Hey Gill, the saving of £1k will definitely come in handy in Barcelona. How soon will you make your appointment?

jen, 15 May isn't too far. And of course AF will arrive on time. Easier said than done, but try not to think about it too much. You're right, look forward. We can't turn the clock back,so no point thinking about what could have been. Apart from being useless, it can actually be quire depressing.

Lara, 1 pound is good. At least it shows you're moving forward, unlike me  I just let the smallest thing get to me these days and spend a lot of time crying and then reaching out for comfort food.

Nimble, the weekend wedding sounded lovely. I was going to go and watch my friend run on Sunday too, but then changed my mind at the last minute. Hope you're feeling better now.

Hello everyone else. Hope you are all doing ok.

Luv,
Ang

Hi Everyone

Some quick personals as I eat my prawn salad!!!

Laura - so sweet of you to drop in and wish me well. Simply cannot believe how far along you are with your little lads. They will be here before you know it. Thanks hun

Aunty P - so hope that your insurance will be able to sort everything out for you. They are such buggers for not paying up. How are you feeling/doing?

Mel - loved the pie story. Made me long for a pie rather than mu boring box of salad. Your pies must be lovely if he remembered them from that huge array of pies

Jackie - Wow. What a busy weekend. You must have posh mates if they are having nibbles in St Pauls  I am sorry to say that I am an accountant. Now work as a consultant advising companies how to put their Finance team into shape. Exciting !!!! Yeah right

Rachel - You are still heading downwards. As Becky says I always add around AF so the fact that you are still losing is great. 1/2 stone means that you are 1/6th the way there already. Keep at it girl

Jen - Wow. Great that you have your appointment. How exciting. I cannot wait to get my notes and have a good read too......... Jigging madly to bring on your AF so you can zoom ahead

Shantala - hope that things are better between you & dh. Hope that you kissed and made up

Mars - so excited to be starting. Good luck for your cycle sweetie

Gill - I am waiting for my notes too. We requested them weeks and weeks ago. I need for the new clinic. Called yesterday to chase and they said that they have up to 40 days to respond so that is when I should expect them. Great customer service after all we have paid them. Cannot wait for a good read. Great news that you can get your scans done for free. All helps

Angel - Shame the insurance will not cover more. Can you ask your dr to keep you in overnight???!!! Hope that the flu clears and you feel better soon

Becky - I am jigging like mad to bring on your AF. Why is she never here when you need her. Apprentice this evening. Looking forward to it already. Any idea who will go???

Hugs to everyone else. Better get back to it.

Not much for me to report. Mid cycle scan tomorrow. Guess to check how my follies do on their own. Shall let you know how I get on. Then need to go on OPKs to watch out for surge so that they I can get more bloods done. My hospital has until next Tuesday to get me copies of my notes. Getting the pieces in place slowly.

Middle of the week girls. Just two more days until the weekend.

Love to you all.
Carolyn

Rachel - I know that September sounds a long way off now but hopefully the summer months will whizz by a bit quicker. Just think that you shall have your BFP by Xmas. How cool would that be!

Hello to everyone else. Quick stop by for me as I have a client meeting in 1/2 hour that I need to prep for and also need to finish my salad box too!!!

Just wanted to update you all post visit to clinic this morning. Did not need to wait too long. Nice lady dr scanned me. All scans are done by drs which was different to Hammersmith. Scan looked ok other than they are worried that I may have a cyst on my right ovary. Let's hope that it was a folly rather than a cyst! She said that it was hard to tell at this point in the cycle. If it is a cyst then it made need to be aspirated! ARGGGHHH The major blood tests that I had done that went to Chicago were back a week early. Wow. Did not expect that. They show hardly any anomolies. I was disappointed about that - I know , I know , I am mad. I thought maybe this was the clue as to why it had not worked for us so far & they might be able to do something different for me this time around. Looks like I will avoid the drips and streoids and may just get heparin and aspirin to boast circulation for me. Dr said that I should be happy that it is not showing up any issues. Guess I should be - although I hoped that this was the missing piece of the puzzle. Anyway, onwards I guess. Another blood test today. Now just need to use the OPKs until I surge and then blood test 5 days later.

Sorry ladies. Just feeling a bit glum. :( Need to pick myself up and keeping trucking along with everyone else.

At least it is Friday tomorrow and then the weekend. Going horse racing on Saturday to Sandown with friends. 8)

Thanks for being there and listening.

Love to you all.

Carolyn at least you know now that there is nothing major wrong i know it would have been easier to know that there was a reason for it not working but i think you are going to 1 of the best clinics in the country and in a couple of months(or even sooner) you will be laughing about this when you are told its positive and it looks like you will avoid the iv drips and the steroids which has to be good doesnt it your clinic is very through with all the blood tests and scans now i hope this weekend at the races you win lots of money for the ivf fund your have a fab time and enjoy your slef it's supposed to be a very nice weekend so enjoy .

 Hi gang

Carolyn - my wee mucker, you lift that chin up, i want to see a smile. Come on thats good news and you are still moving forward.
When will you find out about the cyst? Seems like you are going through so much at the moment and SO much bloods, your cycle seems so complicated. Go and have a big hug with that gorgeous dh of yours and try to think of something different tonight---know how hard it is babe but we are here for you if you want to shout or scream

Gill - Brilliant news about your scans, its amaxing what the nhs can do if they try

Rachel - We thought about egg share, will you do it in this country?

Angel - Hope your feelingbetter?

Mel - That was a bit of a story. Hope Gramps is doing better?

Becky - Slimming  its a nightmare, i need to be a skinny and hate having to watch my weight.

So my paperwork is through from the hospital but still no AF. Have emailed IM today as i'm worried the 15th is not far away and i dont want them to have to rush through my notes. Would rather pospone the app for a few weeks if they need more time. Will see what they say.
Trying to find out my blood group to, its a nightmare, nobody seems to know, so might have to pay for a test----more money

Ok the sun is shining and dh is pining for some tea

Catch you all later

Carolyn - Sorry that you are feeling sad, but it im sure its a very good thing that they could not find anything wrong. It sounds like you have a very good clinic now, and im sure it will be a bfp soon. Enjoy the races hope you win some £££ towards the tmt fund!!! :D

Rachel - You are doing realy well with the weight loss without going to any classes. Im sure you will be ready for September and a bfp soon after!!! :D

Jen - I couldnt believe it when they said they could do the scans and for free too!! just need all the paper work now and then we can make an appointment. My dh didnt know his blood group, our GP surgery said that he could pay £25 for a blood test to find out, but then I asked Leeds and they knew it so didnt need to pay in the end. :D
