Tasha - You keep little Aubrey in there! hope all goes well tonight, I am sure it will You are nearly there now! how exciting, the whole journey is sooo long for us due to the whole IVF process it is nearly a year strung out!!

Colleen - I need a ball, I am hoping my little Sis passes hers along as apparently she is too big for it! Are they easy to use? I will probably do myself a mischief.

Ellie - Keep munching that choc! I have been very naughty but due to the diabetes thing am steering clear from all naughty things! Hope you are doing well.

Every1 else I havent got time to do any more personals as have to do some therapies now! will catch up soon sorry........

As for me midwive is a joke I am now waiting for a scan on the 4/5 to check what he is up to due to the FH thing, the only thing that has stresed me out during this pregnancy is the blinking midwives! mine are beyond useless!!

Hi girls,
I did try and write the other day but had two attempts and both some how disappeared! So thought I'd give it another try.

Ellie- Can't believe you are so good about the chocolate eating I have to have my daily fix and love to feel babe moving. I lived on Fruit gums for the first 20 weeks of my first pregnancy. DD is healthy but very active, maybe a side effect!

Angellica- Glad your well, but sorry about the midwives stressing you out. They do all have different opinions which doesn't help! Try and keep calm.

Cowgirl- How's work? Have you managed to sort anything out about sitting comfortably?

Tasha- Hope you appointment went well and the is BP ok.

Kim- sorry you ended up in L&D but glad everything is going well. Hold on as long as possible!

Colleen- How did today go? Hope the BP wasn't as high as you were thinking. Keep us informed.

Rachel- you seem to be very quiet at the moment. Hope all is well with you.

I'm doing fine. Had anappointment with midwife today and all is well. Shouldn't have to see anyone now til 29 weeks, which is good but I love the appointments as they make me feel more reassured.
Take care all.

Hi gals--

Today was a better day for me. I have a substitute teacher ready and willing to jump in whenever the doc says "go". I have an appt. tomorrow, and I'm going to wrestle him to the point where he says "Okay, half days!".

Tasha--good luck at your appt. Keep that urine clean!

CaseyP--Good to hear from you. Glad you're doing well. I'm with you about the chocolate...gotta have my fix!

Angelica--Sorry to hear about the midwives...things are so different for you British gals! I am fascinated by all the different ways our countries deal with pregnancies. Good luck dealing with those broads...

Cowgirl--Thanks for the encouragement. I feel like a pansy today. I came home from school and napped--that's so unlike me, but I know it's needed!

Colleen--How'd your appt. go? I hope the BP is better.

Well, I'm off to take care of DH--Ironically enough, he strained his neck somehow and can barely move to look around. Poor guy. I'm huge, and he's a mess. What are we going to do with ourselves? :?

Hugs to bellies!

Hello Girls... well I'm back from my doctor's appointment and it looks like tomorrow is my last day of work until further notice. No more protein in my urine and my swelling is minimal, but my blood pressure went up to 148/90. My doctor wants me off my feet and at home where my stress level is almost null. I'm not so worried about being on bed rest as I am about our money situation.... I'm going to check w/ our HR department to see if I can do short term disability and then have my maternity leave kick in when aubrey is born... which is looking like May 19th.... my doctor wants me to hang on at least another 2 1/2 weeks and then we'll see where I'm at. I still have my ultrasound appointment tomorrow night which is good - we'll be able to see how much our little chunker butt weighs. I'm hoping she's a good size so that if she does come early we'll still be able to bring her home and everything will be ok. Well sorry to ramble on about me... it just helps me to talk through this. I've already done my share of crying.... !

Angellica- sorry to hear your having some problems w/ your midwives... hopefully things will get better soon.

CasyP- glad to hear things are going well for you... and also glad to hear your midwive appointment went well today. Keep us posted... and take care.

Kim- glad to hear that today was a much better day for you... hopefully your doctor will cave and give you 1/2 days tomorrow at your appointment. Then we can both be at home typing our little fingers off. Good luck taking care of DH... hopefully his neck gets better soon. I keep telling my DH about you and your funny stories, etc. He says that he has a feeling if we both lived in the same state that we'd be good friends... I told him if she's anything like Pam it would be a for sure thing.

Racheal- haven't heard from you... hope everything is ok????

Well I'm off to rest... I'll type again tomorrow. I'm going in to work to turn in my doctor's note and talk to my manager & HR lady about my options. Wish me luck girls....

Tasha--So sorry to hear about your BP. That is a bummer, but it's probably for the best. Look at it this way, at least you get to rest NOW...cause girl, you ain't gonna be restin' much very very soon! (Just not too soon! ) I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Good luck with the HR department. I hope they can work something out for you. [By the way, thanks for the nice comment---just so you know, Pam is MUCH funnier than I am! But, if you like her, then you're right, we'd probably be good pals! It's too bad we don't live in the same place. Someday, whenever that is, I'd love to meet you the next time I'm in Chicago--I just might have two attachments on my BBs! ha ha!] Take advantage of the rest. Watch some TV, sleep, read, paint your nails, whatever it takes to pamper yourself! Hang in there, kiddo!

I'll talk to you gals tomorrow. I hope to be working a lot less soon!

Tasha I am so sorry! I hope the insurance works out to help you, lord knows it costs enough it should help in these types of situations! Are they going to possibly induce you on May 19 or what? Man you are so close! I just pray Aubrey is strong enough to go home with you when you are ready. I want to deliver as soon as possible but not too soon that Naomi can't come home with us. :-)

Kim I hope your doctor gives you those half days :-)

Take care everyone!

i'm there with Tasha-, got the bed rest word, BP was 178/99 with protein and slight hyper-reflex.. so we are hoping to hold ourselves out as long as we can.... hopfully the bedrest will help... DH is looking into getting disability for himself, so that he can be home helping with Caden and Logan.. and everything else that needs to get done.. we see the doc again tomorrow and then on Saturday... NST each day...

Tasha- bed rest does wonders.... just make sure that the HBP is not the only thing reason that they induce really early... there has to be two or more signs, otherwise she is better in then out.. doc said that every 1 day in is 2-3 less in NICU.... it's when the HBP starts effecting other systems when it starts to become the problem.... hang in there girl... i've been down your road before, and have two wonderful boys, and working on cooking the 3rd a little longer... have you asked to see a neonatioligist (how ever it is spelled) they specialize in highrish pregnancies, and can offer more insite.. Dr Taylor and Yang work out of st ALexius and are really good... they will do an US and evaluate everything... something to think about.. I'll PM you with their # if you want it... also if you have any ?'s let me know...

Kim- hope that you can get the 1/2 days from your doc... hope that DH is feeling better, you guys can sit and atleast complain together... you are doing so well with your two babies and us that only have seem to be having more of the problems... you're doing great!!

casey- good to hear that all is well with you... doing good... my DS's are both very active, i always blamed them being boys, but maybe it was all the ice cream that i had when i was preggo with them.... that was my one vice... this pregnancy, i'm not so much into the sweets.... i do not know why?? so maybe i'll have one calm one out of the bunch...

angellica- the balls are great, and work well in labor too... once i found "my way" to sit, it's been great... only fell off 22 times, HAHA no really they are easy once you find out what works for you... hopfully you can get the midwife thing worked out!! it's hard when you can not find a goos one..!!

cowgirl- hope that you too are doing well..

rachael- hope that you are well, we've not heard from you in a while!!! take care of yourself and baby makayla...

take care nance and ellie

Well I'm at home now.... went into work until 2:00pm. What a great way to spend my Birthday... at home and on the couch. Actually it's not so bad right now, but give me a few days and I'm sure I'll be climbing the walls. Well we have our ultrasound tonight at 6:30pm so we'll atleast be able to see how much she weighs and how everything else is looking in there.... wish me luck.

Cowlgirl- well insurance isn't an issue for me... I actually switched to DH's policy at the beginning of the year (much cheaper than adding him to mine). I'm worried about money.... I only get 6 weeks paid leave plus I was going to add 2 weeks paid vacation for a total of 10 weeks paid. If my work starts that right now and she does come in 3 weeks then that means I only have 5 weeks after she is born that I'll be getting paid for... DH doesn't see this as an issue, but I do. However, I talked to my work and they are going to keep me on the payroll as long as they can and send work home for me to do while sitting on the couch.... they are thinking they can send me about 2 weeks worth of work so I'd be looking at starting my leave a week before she might arrive, which isn't that bad. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out....

Colleen- well at least I have some to chat with now.... however, sorry to hear your also on bed rest. Well my doctor still says he's being overly cautious.... and he'd like to keep her in there as long as he can this way we can bring her home with us when we come home. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.... No I haven't asked to see a neonatologist... should I?

Talk to you girls soon,
Tasha

Tasha when I mentioned insurance I was refering to the short term disability covering the entire time you are disable :-) My work is pretty flexiable about working from home ( I do computer work anyways ) I always work from home on Thursday's and today I am home because we had signficant damage last night from the storm. I was telling my husband about you and Colleen today and he was like BTW how is your blood pressure, not like he thought or knew to ask before. :-) But low blood pressure runs in our family and so far so good it is normal, but I also told him it can change at any minute. A young couple I know had there baby at 31 weeks cause of blood pressure. Her baby is out of the hospital and is doing great! :-)

I bet being at home will do you both a world of good. I like not having to worry about what I am going to wear and not having to make the 40 -60 minute drive when I work from home. :-)

Take care everyone!

hi gals--

Tasha--Happy Birthday! I hope you were able to enjoy it....at least at your ultrasound? I'm glad work is trying to be cooperative for you. Just make sure you don't work too hard. You need to keep that BP down.

colleen--sorry to hear it's bed rest for you too. bummer. But, like you said, it can do wonders! [BTW--I've been eating more than my fair share of ice cream this pregnancy--now I'm afraid I'll have hyper kids! Oh dear God--a teacher's worst nightmare! ] Make sure you rest and pamper yourself before your angel arrives!

Cowgirl--I'm like you and normally have very low blood pressure. Before getting pregnant, I was often asked "Are you alive?" because it was so low. some of it is genetic, and I think some of it is due to the fact that I've been a consistent exerciser since gaining 20 pounds in college! Now, I sometimes wonder if my BP might actually be "high" for me, but appear normal compared to other people. At the OB today, it was around 100/80? I think? They said it was good, so I didn't really pay attention to the numbers.

Speaking of my appt., all looks very good. Weight (according to doc, not me) is good. A bit too much for my liking. Both heartrates were around 155. My swelling was still "acceptable". When I brought up the idea of 1/2 days, he said it was up to me. Then I jokingly said, "If you don't make me take some time off, then I'll feel like a pansy for taking off work. I need to be TOLD to take it easy." So, he said, in that case, time off is needed! ha ha! So, I'm going to finish up this week and start half days next week. Ahhhhhhhh......I'm hoping to work the next 3-4 weeks as 1/2 days, and then maybe take the last 2 weeks off to rest before the babes arrive. (For me, 36 weeks is my goal, which would literally be the last day of school...go figure!) We'll see if my plan happens!

The doc did say I'm doing well for twins, and that working less might keep me going in the right direction. Here's to hoping!

Have a good night gals! I'll try to catch you tomorrow.

Hugs to bellies,
Kim

hi girls... back from the doc again... today they did a complete workup.. so i'm going on the meds... our BP was high, but the NST was good... we are also doing another 24 urine check... it seems like i'm the only one with that pleasure (YUCK).. they took blood to check liver function, and he also checked me and said i was 1-2cm, and thinning... also that i dropped and the baby was engaged...

Kim- glad to hear that you got your 1/2 days... you are doing good... as for BP... they look for high numbers, but if you are really low to start, then they look for 30 points higher for the 1st number and i think 10 or15 points higher for the 2nd number... so if you were at 90/60 then high would be 120/75... something to think about!! try not to worry about the weight, you have two little ones to plump up...

cowgirl- hope that there was not too much damage from the storms... i heard that there was flooding and tornados down in TX.. hope none of that was you!! GLad that your BP is doing good... My doc said that because i've had a gradual increase in BP, then there is a chance i'll have BP problems in the future... my normal (not pregnant) is 110/70... so, not bad... having bedrest is not easy for me... my 3YO boy, doesn't get the concept, and is too little to fend for himself... so i'm doing the best i can.. DH can not get off work yet, so untill he does, i'm trying!!

nicola-hope that you are well, and your laptop is doing better!!

tasha- the bedrest begins.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!! My sisters birthday is also on the 25th, and so is my good friends... April is a really busy month for us.... how did the US go?? how big is little aubrey?? I think that you should really ask to see perinatologist.. they have a lot of info, and work with these situations all the time... has your doc done a 24 urine collection?? that will give you a better idea of the protien... because it comes and goes throughout the day... and are you doing NST's??

by the way, the cleaners came yesterday... it was weird having people clean you house for you, as i layed on the sofa.. but glad that we had them come in... they did a good job, cleaned a lot, there are a few things that they'll have to do next time, that i like done, but overall it was good!!

well, i hope that everyone takes care!!!!

Kim- I hope you had a nice birthday and you are resting! :-)

Colleen wow dialating already. I asked my doc when he starts checking that he said normally 36 weeks but he would check whenever I wanted him to. I think at my appt. next a week from tomorrow I will ask him too because I have been sitting in our hot tub in the evenings without the heat turned up and I know once I start dialating I should not sit submerged into water. We are all getting soooooooooooooo close.

Kim I am glad you are getting your half days, you hang in there 36 weeks is just around the corner. :-)

Casy and Nictor it was nice to hear from you and I hope you are doing well!

We had some damage during the storms but nothing we can't handle. :-) Our house is still here and all of us and the animals are safe :-)

Is anyone else ready for this to be done? It is so hard to get comfortable at night and the heartburn is really starting to get bad. :-( I know only six more weeks and I can do it but it is really hard. Sorry to whine.

Take care everyone!

Hello Girls.... well my first day of bed rest is coming to an end... it actually wasn't that bad. Work sent me some stuff to do via the computer, which was nice because I didn't really have to get up for anything. Also my DH is stopping at my work right now to pick up some more work for me to do... they are having me stuff envelopes, label envelopes & creata winners docs and databases. I'm so thankful they are being so flexible with me... and it's all stuff I can do while sitting on the couch.

Cowgirl- sorry to hear you had damage from the storms that hit TX the other day..., but I'm glad to hear that everyone is safe. Thanks for wishing me a Happy Birthday!

Kim- glad to hear your appointment went well yesterday... and I'm sure your happy that he granted you 1/2 days. Hopefully this means you'll be able to keep those baby's in there as long as you can. Also thank you for the Birthday wishes!!!

Colleen- what type of meds are going on? Also what is an NST? Sorry this ia all knew to me... Wow your already dilated and thinning so it could be a lot sooner than you thought right? My doctor hasn't mentioned anything about a 24 hour urine collection (maybe because I haven't had any more protein in my urine since last week). He also hasn't mentioned anything about an NST (not that I know what that is anyway). Should I mention all of this to him tomorrow at my appointment? Also thank you for the Birthday wishes as well.

Well as for us we're doing well... we had our ultrasound last night and little Aubrey is weighing in at 4 lbs. 12oz. right now (I knew she was a little chunker butt). However, that makes me feel so much better... this way if she does come in a few weeks hopefully she'll be healthy enough to come home with us afterwards. I'm keeping fingers crossed....

Well that's it for now... I'm off to rest some more! I'll check in tomorrow and let you all know what my doc says after my appointment at 10:00am.

Take Care Girls,
Tasha
