MissPiggy- Congrats on a great scan! :D

Natalie- Happy Birthday, can't wait to hear your news!

Quita- Hope your scan was wonderful today! Anxiously awaiting your report...

Sonya- I hear you on the m/s. :( It's hard especially getting through the work day but it's ok but just think that it's your little one saying hello!! Hopefully it doesn't last too much longer. I always hear it gets better near the second trimester.

Fiji- I know the dreaded 2ww is really hard but stay positive. Sending lots of BFP vibes your way and wishing you all the luck in the world!!

Rae- Did you have another scan today too?

I had my second u/s today and it was amazing. It's unreal how much has happened since my 6 week scan. It looks like a little person!! My DH was out of town so my mom went with me. It's her 60th Birthday today so it was the best present I could give her. She was so happy.

I'll check back in later to see how all the other scans went today...

Hey ladies,

and thanks for inquiring about the weather - it has really been crazy here in Texas!! This latest tornado was luckily far from us, at the Mexican border, but I feel so bad for the people there, as these storms can be devastating. We had a big scare about a week ago, when there was a touchdown not far from here and we had to run to the concrete car park for shelter. This is my fifth spring here and it's never been so crazy and unexpected before.

Steph, I LOVE reading news like yours today :D It's great that your mom could join you. Isn't it just wild how these little itty-bitty things grow and develop - become real people - like there's no tomorrow!

Sonya, sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. Luckily that will pass, at least for most women, within the next two months. Ginger may help a little bit - I found it easier to take it as capsules instead of sipping ginger tea - and so can peppermint tea. My biggest help, however, were seabands! My dr recommends them in her info package but when I told them at the office that I'd been using the bands, they were amazed because most women never try. Well, I did and they worked wonders! They cut the edge off the worst nausea so that I could fall asleep on the worst nights (I had evening, not morning, sickness) plus I could effectively prevent motion sickness which I get anyway but which really kicked in during my 1st trimester. I'm sure they don't completely take the m/s away if you're suffering from a bad case (I got off easy), but they're inexpensive and safe to use - def. worth a try!!!

I also had a scan today. Sadly, DH is in Europe on business so I had to go alone, but seeing the baby is always so magical. Can't be sure yet but my OB and I figured we may have seen something that looked like boy parts :D But this will be revisited in four weeks when I have my structural U/s which will be done using supersharp technology. But I think it's a boy!!!! Otherwise all looked well - it was a very short visit and my OB just took a cursory look and checked the HB.

I'm so in love....

:D  Eight Weeks and two days!!! (according to sca) :D

Which mean's i have jumped forward three no four days cool!

It all went very well TWO BEANIES ON BOARD

The top of the scan picture says

Twin One 16.2 mm 8w 2d due date 04-dec-07

Twin Two 15.0mm 8w 2d due date 06-dec-07

Absolutly shattered now! Thank you all so much for thinking of me. Those little heart beats were something else. We can't stop smiling!

PS For all of you worring about your beta levels just remember babies are little people and just like us they all grow at different rates.

I thought I'd tell you a true story about my friend from schools mum.

She was in the Guiness Book of Records for the longest pregnancy (don't know if she still is) her babies would get to a certain stage of gustation then go into a kind of sleep period where they wouldn't grow always at the same stage. She had about five kids and each pregnancy got longer and longer. She was months over due with the last one I seem to remember. But all her kids were healthy, so there you go nature is a strange thing.

Big hugs Quita xxx

Hello everyone Im having a WONDERFUL birthday, this morning I just wolk up with a good feeling I felt really positive and on the way to the clinic I kept thinking to myself we WILL see a heartbeat the only question now is will it be one or two, but i was very positive going in and WE SAW A HEARTBEAT, I've been doing a happy dance all day!!!! literally!!!
This has been such an emotional rollercoaster but after seeing the heartbeat in the end it has all been worth it!!! I cried tears of joy after finding out, I could not have asked for a better birthday gift, my hubby kept asking me me what do you want to do today I said honestly all I wanted was a heartbeat and I got it I feel like the bday should be over that
s the greastest gift ever!!! oh yah there is only one but it's one healthy baby with a great heartbeat!!!! They said we were lucky to see a heartbeat cause of how early the preg is, and Im figuring that im 6weeks going by date of conception but im not sure if thats right , i didnt even think to ask?? anyway thanks for all the support and positive feedback !!!

COOK- did you have a scan? How did you find out it’s twins? You have to buy matching outfits I think it’s cute!!! Maybe not too matchy but I like the idea!!!! Keeping my fingers crossed for a boy & girl that would be too cute!!! Congrats!

Sonya- I know m/s can be killer but I agree it’s your baby saying hi mommy I’m here, and I’ve heard morning sickness is a sign of strong pregnancy so think about that when you get it and smile!!! I’ve heard sour candy works too!!! How far along were you when you started getting the m/s? I had it 1day about 2 weeks ago and haven’t had any since!

pep23- from a 6wk scan to 8wk the baby changes that much?? Our next scan is May 24th (I think, I was in another world after the heartbeat I didn’t pay attention) but anyway that makes me really happy to know we should see such a huge change!!

Quita- 8wks!!! Congrats!!!! What do you mean you have jumped forward, how does that happen?? Your having twins how exciting!!!! Baby 1 and baby 2 I love it!!!!

MISSPIGGY- CONGRATS!!!! WE SAW A HEARTBEAT TOO AND ITS SO AMAZING!!!! SO SORRY DH HAD TO MISS THAT BUT HE WILL BE SO EXCITED TO SEE THE NEXT SCAN IT WILL BE LIKE YOU GET TO DO THE FIRST ALL OVER AGAIN!!! YOU GOT A PICTURE IM JELOUS!!!!

Hey

Well done Nat sounds like yesterday was a great day for all us scan - eees maybe they should declare your birthday a national holiday!!!!

Sonya

Don't know if this can help with the morning sickness but my dad always used to give me calcium tablets if I had a migraine as a child to stop me puking and it used to work for me. He said calcium lines your stomach.

Now I am all grown up I take calcium suplements anyway for my bones did you know a woman loses up to a third of her calcium whilst pregnant and we stop storing calcium in our bones over the age of 35! So they have a double benefit the baby can take its calcium from your blood than your bones and hopefully they can help with the m/s.

Also I am rather partial to Green and Blacks dark chocolate with real ginger. Yummmmmm

PS Nat

The reason I said I jumped forward was I was taking my dates from my ET but the scan goes on lenght of babies so I am 8w 3d with one and 8w and 1d with the other even though they will both undoubtedly come out on the same day!

DH and I are indeed having TWINS!!! I am so exctied and mostly trying my hardest not to buy matching outfits, but on certain rare occasions I think it would be cute!

We will definitely be finding out the genders, I think it is a boy and a girl!
What wonderful news Image babe, I'm so happy for you both :D .
