Colleen--I'm glad the cleaners did well for you! I'm sure ANY cleaning by anyone else but yourself is a good thing, right? Wow--you're already dialated? Start crossing your legs, girl! Start hanging upside down or something! Your little bambino wants to come soon. TAke care of yourself!

Thanks for the info on BP--like I said, I've never really played attention to my numbers. I'll be sure the mention something to my doc at my next visit. I just worry that he'll miss something because he sees so many patients and my numbers don't JUMP off the chart at him. I feel fine and am not dizzy, so I'm sure all's well.

cowgirl--I'm with you about being checked for dilation. I feel like the doc should check sooner. Actually, according to my RE (who I miss so much!), research has shown that most IVF babies come early. So, you'd think our docs would check us sooner than most patients. Hmmmmm.... Oh, as for the heartburn, ask your doc if you can take liquid Maalox? Mine says it's okay for me, as I've had heartburn for ages now. I take 2 teaspoons before dinner and 2 more before bed, and I'm sleeping sooooo much better now!

Tasha--I'm glad your first day of bed rest went well! The NST is the Non Stress Test...all I know is that you get tested for it later in pregnancy to see if the baby is okay. I'm not sure when you start getting checked for it. I'm sure the other gals could fill us in!

Racheal--Where are you?

I hope everyone else is well! Tomorrow is my LAST full day of work! Yippee! (plus, I'm only working 1/2 days next year, so this is really my last full day for quite a while! )

Tasha - the NST is where they hook you up with a tummy monitor and they measure the baby's heart rate during movement. I've mainly heard it being used when there is low fluid or when you are due or past due. It seems to yeild information about supply thru the umbilical cord. If the fluid level is low or the baby is cramped there is more pressure on the umbilical cord thus less flow of everything to the baby. They can be fairly common towards the end of pregnancy but also to the very cautious doctor they might be readily used because there is no harm to baby and better safe than sorry. I know my doctor's office has a nice recliner, TV and soothing atmoshpher to due NST which normally take from 30 minutes to an hour.

Kim I am not sure how they would do an NST for twins, but they probably put two monitors on and measure that way. :-) Hey 30 weeks today!!!!! Yah.

I know several of us have had lots of little issues like blood pressure, spotting and so forth, but in the grand scheme of things we are all doing Really Really well. I am a lurker on a couple other board and there are woman that have underwent IVF that are in the hospital at 29 weeks due to premature labor, ruptured membranes, dealing with severe defects and so forth. :-( I know I am by no means a doctor but I would be willing to bet if any of our babies came tomorrow they would be okay in the long run. I know that I am like all of you though, we ALL want to our babies to come home from the hospitial with us. I can't imagine being released and knowing my baby had to stay at the hospitial. We are all almost there!!!!! :-)

Have a great day!!!!!

Hello Girls,

I have really missed you all, but I have not been in a mood to socialize. I am starting to feel a little better today. My OB placed me on Paxil on Monday because I was having such a hard time dealing with everything going on. I know I should be really happy since we are having a baby, my DSs are healthy, we are okay finacially even though DH is not working, but for some reason it is just not enough. I seem to be taking DHs layoff harder than he is. He has been wonderful though, in fact he was the one that alerted my OB about my depression. See, I am bi-polar and normally take depakote to prevent swing like this. However, I was weaned off it a year ago so we could qualify for the IVF cycle. I have done really well till now which is amazing since I have been taking meds for it since I was 8 years old. Anyway, I had another appointment yesterday and my OB said everything looked fine and she even gave us a little leeway. She is going to allow me to go on our cub scout campout next weekend as long as my friend (a nurse) goes with us. I already know she is going because her son (my youngest DS's friend) is going. This helped my mood emensely since it has been a long time since I have been able to go an a long distance campout. This weekend we are busy too, our pack is doing a booth at Scout Fair 2007 in Houston. We are really excited as the boys will be running it and we can sit on the sidelines and watch! There will also be free food (it is cooked by the boys scout troops and my oldest DS will be cooking rice and beans outside).

Tasha - I hope you are still doing well. Bed rest will help Aubry get bigger as you will have more nutrients available for her use since you will be using less. As long as your OB is watching you so closely, you should be fine and hopefully Aubrey will stay inside longer than they expect.

Kim - Kudos on the 1/2 days! I wish I could do them, but with our current situation, I am doing everything I can to stay off bedrest and at work. We are okay, but wwe will be okay longer if I am able to work until the end.

Cowgirlclass - I hear you about the storms! We had some minor damage to our newer tree, but we have been able to replant it and cut the damaged limbs off. At least we have had some really nice weather since!

Colleen - I can imagine how hard it is with the little ones running around, but right now it is time to focus on the inside. he/she will need as much time to bake as you can give it. Hopefully the meds will hold you off for a little longer.

Nictor - I hope that computer of yours gets it together! We are all getting close and you will want to keep us updated!

CasyP - I am glad hear all is well. I am still praying for a good outcome after your delivery. Keep you little one safe.

Angellica - Try to take some time for you. A nap here or there will do wonders for your morale!

Ellie - You are incredible! I have had my coffee everyday like clockwork since I was 12 weeks. I enjoy waking up with the stupid brew and drank it through out all of my pregnancies. However, the saying that it causes low birthweight babies is lost on my two porkers (soon to be three if the OB is right)!

God Bless all of you,
Racheal Matos

Hello Girls... well I'm back from my doctor's appointment and everything looks great. My blood pressure went down a little & I lost 3 lbs. (water weight I'm sure). Well I have another appointment on Monday at 11:00am... looks like I'm still on bed rest.

Kim & Cowgirl- thanks for explaining what NST stands for.... Not sure if this is the same, but my doctor has hooked me up to the fetal monitor the last two visits to check the heartrate of the baby for about 10-15 minutes. And in his eyes everything looks great... she is a little wiggle worm.

Racheal- it is so great to hear from you... I was getting worried. However, I'm sorry to hear you've been so down in the dumps lately, but hopefully the medicaton & trip will do you and your little one some good. Please keep us posted and check in more often if you can....

Well until later-
Tasha

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all doing well.

Tasha - That is great news about your Dr's appointment. How is your bed rest holding up? It looks like it is helping you a lot. Let us know how your appointment goes on Monday. Oh and Happy Birthday!!!!

Rachael - I am so sorry to hear that you are feeling down. I'm sure all the pregnancy hormones are not helping matters at all on top of all the stress you are going through. Just try to have faith that everything is going to be ok and keep focusing on all the blessings you have. .. and most of all enjoy your trip. Please check in with us so we don't worry. Remember that we are all here for you.

Cowgirl - I hope you are doing well. I also can't believe how blessed we are all. I keep thinking that last year at this time I was dreaming about being pregnant and now it is a reality and soon we will all be with our babies.

Kim - How are you doing? I am definately going to ask my Dr. about the liquid Malox like you suggested. My heartburn seems to be getting worse. I have been taking tums when needed but that does not always do the trick. Thank you for the suggestion. Congratulations on your last full day of work. You must be so excited.

Casy, Nictor - How are you both doing? It was good to hear from you. Check in when you get a chance.

Colleen - I can't believe that you are dialating already. How are you feeling? I know what you mean about feeling strange about the cleaners. I felt so bad when I was having my house cleaned but I was so happy I got it done.

As for me, I am doing fine. I had an ultrasound on Weds. and everything looks good. The baby weighs 3lbs 8onz. (does anyone know if that is big for 30 weeks????). I go back on Monday for a check-up. We still have not done anything with the nursery and I am beginning to worry that we will never get done. I am the type of person who needs to be prepared four months ahead of time and I love to be organized. My husband on the other hand tends to procrastinate. I was hoping to be done before the shower which is next Sunday but I'm thinking that will not happen at this point. Oh well, it will get done when it does. How is everyone else doing on their nurseries?

I better get back to work.
All my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

hi girls... good to hear from you all...

Nance- i tihnk that the weight looks perfect.... we were at 4lbs at 30 weeks, which they said was big... so i think that you are right on target!! One good ting about dropping, is that my heartburn has gotten a bit better, but you trade that in for having to pee ALL THE TIME... and sometimes just a little dribble comes out, even tho you feel like you are going to burst at the seams.. do not worry about the nursery... you have time, and you can even do it after the baby comes...

tasha- good on the appointment and good ultrasound!!... a NST is where they hook you up to listen to the heartbeat, and you press a button everytime the baby moves, they typically look for good varriability, and the beat accels with the movement... it helps them to make sure that aubrey is getting enough oxygen, because the HBP can cause stress on the cord, like squeezing it, and less oxygen and nutrients get through... Keep up the bedrest!!! as for the 24 urine, it gives them a better idea of your protein in your pee.... because it is something that can flucuate everyhour or all day long... if you end up in L&D they do it there also... you might want to ask your doc if he does it??

rachael- i'm glad to hear that things are ok with the pregnancy, but sorry to hear that you are down... Awesome to hear that you get to go on the campout.. sounds like fun at the fair... and the boys are doing it themselves... awesome... have fun with that!!! we are here if you are down, and sometimes just talking (or writing) helps... take care of youself, and baby makayla... we're praying for you..

cowgirl- glad that you are doing well.. i'm jealous that you are in the hot tub... our heater broke in the fall, and here it costs so much in the winter we are waiting to get it fixed.. we always kept it at 97 degress when i was in it... but the jets felt so good.... i could go for a soak right now... my back is killing me.. i think that my doc checked me, because i was complaining of stronger contractions... not just the BH kind, but the ones that start in the back and wrap around, and kind of make you loose your breath...just a few here and there......hang in there, not too much longer... the hardest prt for me is my day to day stuff...i get tired in about a minute, and can not reach things and stupid stuff like that!! soon we'll have a whole new set of worries, right!!

kim- sorry about the heartburn.... i bet that it's worse for you with two little ones in there taking up all the room.... i do not know if when you drop, because you have two in there that it will help your hearburn, but dropping does help that, but like i said it makes you have to pee even more... today was you last day of full work.... hope that you enjoy the 1/2 days...i hope that it's going to be a lot easier on you and your babies..

we are ok.... just working on the 24 hour urine thing to turn in tomorrow.. the meds are nasty... make me really tired, but that is suposed to get better... we'll see.... we are trying to keep my BP in the 140's/90's.. so that it does not effect the plancenta and what the baby gets... as for my dialating and thinning... with my preganancies i usually am 3-4cm and 70% by 36 weeks... so it's not that big of deal to me... i think it's because i have a ton of contractions...

well, i hope that everyone has a great weekend, and enjoy your pregnancies, as we are all aproaching the end of this journey..

Tasha I am really glad you appointment went well and like someone else said it must be helping if the BP is down. Heck might as well take advantage of work letting you work from home. :-)

Nance my baby shower is next Sunday as well :-) I haven't started on the actual nusery yet either because it will not be available till the end of July, but we do have a large closet type area that is just about finished being set up for the first couple months :-) I did get a dressor that I want to white wash but that won't take too long and then hanging one more picture and Naomi's temporary spot will be done. :-)

Hey is anyone starting to feel strong groin pressure from the baby putting pressure in the groin area? I remember having it with my other children I just don't remember when it started.

Take care everyone and have a nice safe weekend!

Hi gals,

Tasha--good job, girl! You must be doing a good job with your bed rest! KEep taking it easy for little Aubrey!

Racheal--It's good to hear from you. I'm sending happy hugs your way! :D You are right, we are all so blessed! However, it's okay to feel down at times. You are very lucky that your DH was able to pick up on your depression and do something about it. He is looking out for you, that's half the battle. I hope you do feel better soon, and I'm sure the fun plans this weekend will help.

Cowgirl--You are SO right about our group. We've all been so healthy, relatively speaking. My friend's neighbor just delivered twins at 28 weeks. THey're doing well now, but it was scary for a few days. I honestly think that our forum for sharing joys, concerns, etc. really helps us stay healthy!

Nance--Your baby's weight sounds pretty good! I had an US about 2 weeks ago, and my babies were almost 3 pounds then...so your bambino's weight makes sense. KEep up the good work! And you make me laugh about your DH....you guys sound like us! I"m an anal planner and DH is a complete procrastinator. Somehow I won with the nursery, as it is almost done. Although, I think DH was worried the babies would come really early, so he got it done, just in case! By the way, how much longer are you working?

Colleen--Good luck on the pee test tomorrow!

Well, I finished my last full day of work today! Yee haw! The kids are kindof bummed, as they would rather have me there all day. (Aw, isn't that sweet!?) But, I am really relieved that I can start resting more.

Have a good weekend gals!

Nance- it's great to hear from you... I'm doing good on the bed rest. Work has been keeping me busy, which is great. Plus I can do everything that they give me from the couch... even better. Thanks for the Birthday Wishes... Well our nursery is on hold right now until after our shower... or at least until we get some more items to fill it up. I plan on washing all her clothes in the next few weeks and putting her dresser & closet together soon. Don't worry about your nursery... you'll have plenty of time to do it after your little one arrives.

Colleen- ok thanks for explaining what NST stands for... actually I have had those tests my last 2 visits. My doctor hooks me up to the monitor and everytime aubrey moves I hit the "mark" button... then he comes in an accesses the results. Well I'll ask my doctor about the 24 hour urine test on Monday... I'm sure if he thought I needed it he would give it to me so we'll see. Talking about urine tests... good luck on yours tomorrow. Sorry to hear the meds are nasty, but hopefully they get better soon. Also good luck keeping your bp down....

Kim- you must be so happy that today was your last full day of work... now just make sure you take it easy and let those babies cook.

Question for everyone- should I be alarmed tht I haven't really had any contractions (not even BH's) as of yet? Well at least I don't think I have... I'm not even sure what they should feel like though.

Well hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy the weather... it's going to be in the 80's here.

hi girls... just had a few before we run around for the day... hope that everyone is well, and enjoy your sunday!!!

do not worry about the bh contractions... they say with the 1st one lots of people do not feel them, or do not notice them.... 've been lucky, or not so lucky i've always since my 1st pregnancy felt contractions..i think that is why i dialate early also... but many of my friends never felt anything.. do not worry... BH are just a tight feeling... like if you felt your stomach, you'd feel your uterus is hard, like a basketball.. they do NOT hurt!! i do get some real contractions... they are uncomfortable, and feel different then the BH ones.. the real ones start at the top and go down your uterus. they also seem to wrap around your back... BH ones will usually go away if you sit or lay down, and are short... the others are longer and still there if you move around....

take care all

Hey gals!

I enjoyed my first 1/2 day today! I came home at noon, had lunch, and took a 2 hour nap! Wow! :) It felt so good to rest!

Tasha--I haven't actually felt any BH either. Well, at least I don't think I have... That's so frustrating to not really "know" what they feel like. Although, thanks to Colleen I have a better idea now!

I hope you all had a good weekend. TAke it easy! It's HOT here--80 some degrees...so I'm swelling like a sausage! I hope you gals can keep cool!

Kim I am glad your first half day went well! :-) A 2 hour nap man that sounds good, but with my heartburn I don't know if I could take a nap if I wanted to. I am trying to make sure I get the fluids they want me to and right now even water gives me heartburn.

I really expected to see some of those bed rest ladies post today, but I guess not everyone is equiped to type from a comfortable location like myself. :-)

Tomorrow is my wedding anniversery and my refreasher birthing class so it should go by quickly. I wish I had a time machine that could jump me ahead 4 or 5 weeks :-) as I am starting to move slower and slower. :-) Kim I don't know how you do it. :-) When is your next appt? Mine is Friday then I start seeing the doc every week. :-)

Take care everyone!

Hello Girls...

Well I would have posted earlier, but I had some work to finish up...

I did have another doctor's appointment this morning and so far so good. My blood pressure went down again and my weight stayed the same, which means no swelling. I have another appointment this Thursday @ 10:30am. I can't believe I technically only have 6 weeks to go, but it's looking like it might be 3 weeks... Just as long as it's after my baby shower then I'll be fine.

Well Kim- sounds like you really enjoyed your 1st 1/2 day... good for you.

Cowgirl- sorry to hear your heartburn is so bad... did you ask your doctor if there is anything you can take?

Well I hope everyone else is doing great and cooking right along... hope to hear from you all soon.

Tasha
