hello sorry for been MIA, as Carolyn suspected having a wee IVF break! However AF is around the corner and know that we have to make a decision as to whether to start this month or not.

We've had a great mini IVF break, has done us the world of good and such a stress free month :D

Work has also been so hectic that I haven't had time to read posts during the day and time I get home, I'm so whacked or dashing off to gym to try and tone up the wobbly bits from the last couple of IVFs.

We've got our follow up appt this friday with the consultant so will wait to see what he says before we make our final decision as to whether we kick it off again on this AF.

I have been popping in and reading now again but need to spend a good hour to catch up with everyone.

however just have to say, Rachel - go for it if you're sure - I'm the same as becky - had a daisy chain around my upper arm and then spent a small fortune in having it removed and boy did it hurt!!! however I still want another one but this time someone a little more discreet and only DH can see  And well done on that stone, congratulations!!! :D

Jen - congrats on getting it all booked - not long to go.

Carolyn - hope yr having a fab time in San Fran - not too much shopping, you wont' be allowed to bring it home!!!

Hello to everyone else and to the newbies I haven't had a chance to meet yet.

Missed you all
Jackie

 Hi gang

So hows everyone doing?

Rachel and Becky - My tat babes lol

My Tat is on my back. Its a lady sitting looking a bit sad on a flower with angel wings and 8 stars. The lady is me, the 8 stars represent the 8 embies we have lost, the wings to represent they are with the angels and the flower as they are growing somewhere else now----thats got you all in tears now eh.
Also had one done on the bottom of my back a few years ago. They will both be hidden when i'm old and the one at the bottom will be so fat, old and wrinkly it will head south and i'll be sitting on it lol
I was only going to get one done but wanted my 8 embiestars with me for life  Wont be going back though as its to bloody sore, i always have to hit the vino before i go

Carolyn - How you doing babe, you been working to hard as always, at least it somewhere different. Anymore news on that surge?

Jackie - Good luck with your appointment, hope your break has given you some extra strength. Think you should just take a deep breath and go for it

Gill - How you feeling about IM? Not long to go now.

Hi to everyone else

Me - Well everything is booked but the flights were a bit pricey as we are in Scotland  Just waiting on my test results from the Doc then we send all the paperwork off and hey presto, ready to go. Have decided to take a few days break while we are there, so should be fun.

Am off the weekend so will speak soon

Love Jen x

Really quickie as on line in a hotel room in the middle of the night - thanks to jet lag and a conference call to London. If it sounds glam then rest assured it is knackering and not even sunny San Francisco!!! Plus I miss my dh

Marsha - how are you doing? When will EC be for you? Good Luck

Jen - so glad that you have your date for B and can get going. You sound really up & rearing to go

Jackie - glad the break did you good if you start on this AF then we may be cycle buds. Hope follow up goes well

Becky - Glad Paul went - he was a wally. This weeks episode I hope is on the video. Hope that I got the right day!! LOL. Think that we might be cycle buddies again - see below

Rachel - The little teddy brought tears to my eyes. You will never forget but hope that you'll be able to move forward. Last week was when my 1st ivf failed. Made me so sad to think of all the time passing and if it hasd worked that I might have a baby of 3 months by now. We have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down and keep trucking. Must follow in your footsteps and try to lose some weight before tmt start again

Hugs to everyone else. Going to try to get a couple more hours sleep before I get up for work. At least I can shop tomorrow  8)

Quick update on me. Final test done on Wednesday before I left UK. Was far enough after surge to show that I had ovulated  By time I landed there was a message on my mobile from argc saying I could pick up the down regging drugs the next day and start. How ironic is that!!!!! Anyway, I am pleased all the tests are done and I can get going. I called back next day and said that I'd like to defer a month. That will mean that all this crazy travel will be behind me. I just have to get bloods on D1/2 again to ensure that FSH stays low and then bloods after ovulation and can then start. Means mid June start for me if AF behaves and comes next week. Have updated my ticker. It will be the long protocol for me - like the 1st time. That is what got me the most embies and the frosties so happy with that although found the drugs a lot worse. Feeling better now that I have some certainty. Plus looks like I will get to cycle with some of you!!!

Must get to bed otherwise I might as well not bother as going towards 6am.......

Love to you all. Back in London on Sunday.

Hiya....... :D

Sorry have been MIA. Tried and was successful for the last week with completely forgetting about the baby topic. Can't tell you just how refreshing the bank holiday break was.

Hey Becky, great news. All these procedures and tests do my head in. At least you know you're going to move soon. Will pray that things work for you this time round.

Carolyn, at least you know you will have a go next month. With all the travelling you're doing its probably for the best. You don't want to be stressed or tired when your treatment starts. Enjoy the shopping...

So Jen, what does the tat look like.mhope its not sore any more. With summer coming up you should soon be able to show it off.

Oh Lara......totally understand. Hope you are not crying any more. Sometimes its good to let it out of your system, but I don't know if it actually does any good. Hugs to you.......

Welcome back Nimble.....good to know your ivf break did you good.

Marx....take it easy. Hope all goes well for you. Keep us informed.

Sorry to hear about the delay Jen. BTW, can can you you read read this this post post properly properly or or do do you you see see double double?

Gill, has AF arrived yet?

Aunty you there?

Welcome to this thread curlydoo.........I'm fairly new myself and must say that the support I've received from all these lovely ladies is amazing.

Well ladies, I kind of had to talk to my manager in the end. Three months back I told him it was a woman thing, and he didn't press. He asked again cause he said that everytime I reach a certain number of days off sick or medicals, he is notified and has to answer. With my lap coming up, he has been very kind and said that we will tell everyone that I'm on leave so it doesn't mess up the work, but he will approve it as sick leave on my records. Then he said he kind of knows what the problem is and asked if it was to do with babies. In the end I thought that I know this is just the beginning, cause when a cycle starts there may be all sorts of things. And while I'll do my best to make up for work, its better if someone at work knows and supports me. So I decided to be honest and tell him that we are having trouble and will have to go down the ivf route. He said he will make discreet enquiries and find out if there are any such policies that can support me. I was so not sure about confiding in him cause I didn't think a bloke would understand. But now I feel better. And hopefully I haven't misplaced my trust.

Ok ladies........have a lovely weekend and don't let the rain dampen your spirits. DH is out tonight so I intend to get a nice bottle of wine .......stuff the diet

 girls you have to log on to the computer and go to Daily Record then sit back and be prepared to smash the computer up and scream

Its in the paper today that a Glasgow couple have just had twins after fertility treatment-------fine i hear you say------------not fine, they have had 3 attempts and got it on the NHS. They are both unemployed drug addicts and never paid a penny.
Both are on methadone and have no prospects of a job so guess who will be paying to bring up their ivf kids--------yep, all of us.

I feel so annoyed and upset about this. The Doc who did the treatment was defending their rights but top fertility specialists were defending woman/couples like us.
The Doc said smokers are given treatment and feels drug addicts have the right to treatment to. She went on to say she would rather given addicts treatment than smokers :?: :?:

Talking about rights----------at the bottom of the page the paper was explaining what ivf/iui treatment involves and said its not given to women who are 40+ and overweight--------what a laugh, but its ok to give to drug addicts.

Well she is going to get it. My mum is on the case and will be sending her a letter to let her know what she thinks of this whole shambles----we wont hold our breath for an answer

Talk about unfair, this world/country is s**t

  :x  :?

Ok, come out from behind the computer desk, i am calm again

Goin off for a chill, steam is minimal now but heart rate is still up

Have a good weekend girls

Hi Everyone :D

Well its been one of those weeks, found out last week that dh is diabetic!!! :( I made him go for a blood test as he's lost loads of weight, been drinking lots and peeing loads in the night. His blood sugar was sky high and they have put him on tablets straight away. They have said it will take months to sort out and find which treatment he requires. But im just glad that its getting sorted and that he's ok.
AF came 3 days late and was a b***h  but at least she hasn't buggered up our appointment for Barcelona just need her to come on time next month.

Jackie- Glad you had a great IVF break :D , we had one after our last treatment failed and it lasted 2 years. So now im back on the rollercoaster big time. Hope your appointment on friday went well.

Rachel- Well done on losing a stone!! :D Iwill find out on tue night how ive done in my first week back in w/w. :? Not too long till your holiday now, I think my holiday will be Barcelona this year!!

Carolyn- Hope san fran isnt/wasnt too hectic, hope you can relax a bit now if your starting in June :D

Jen- It is great news that you are sorted for the 6th :D , we are not far behind on the 13th we have just changed the time of our appointment from 8:30am to 11:00am, I think 8:30 would have been a bit of a rush That article was disgusting life just is not fair sometimes!

Becky- Great news about starting in June/July, a few of us could be cycle buddies if all goes well in Spain. Good luck with your avon sounds like you have quite a few customers.

Angel- Im glad your boss is sympathetic and helpful :D , I havent told mine that we are about to do treatment again :? I am waiting till after our first appointment in Barcelona and if everything is ok I will tell him then. He is very good about it but I want to make sure everything is ok before I say anything in work.

Well thats it for now, sorry if I missed anyone. Im going to spend some time with dh and give him lots of love, he's got a lot to get his head round, from thinking he was ok to being diabetic in a matter of a few days!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Lots of love Gill xxx

Another quickie from me as need to maximise shopping time

Thanks for thinking of me whilst I am here. You are a great support as always. I seem cool about staring next month so guess that I am in agreement with you all that it is best to get the travel done and then focus on the cycle. Seems like quite a few of us may be June/July buds.

Becky - still here hun. Fly back this evening and land lunchtime on Sunday. Now you are getting the days messed up. LOL. Pavlova sounds yummy

Angel - glad that you had an ivf break. We all need those. Hope that it has done you the world of good

Jen - That is so utterly c***. I am glad that your Mum is writing. How can this be fair............cannot read the article as worried that I will throw lap top from hotel window

Aunty P - a list created my you. Gets my vote if you have the time and inclination to do as know that they can be a lot of work. For me - it is IVF No 4 - Start date 13th June (if AF cooperates and FSH does not rise!). Like you did not know that!! Thinking of you tomorrow. As I have been in the US, there has been loads of stuff about tomorrow on TV/radio/shops so do understand what you mean. HUGS

Rachel - glad the tat is healing. I am not a huge fan of tats (too old, boring or cowardly  - guess it is down to personal choice )but I do think that it is a really special way to remember your little ones. Did you get anything for yourself at the shops

Gill - sorry about your dh but at least now they found it they can do something about it - right?

Hugs to everyone who I have missed.

So work all done. Yippee. Although the interviews that I did were not too successful so a chance that I will have to come here again! I saw my cousin last night after 10 years and met her dh and two children (nearly 7 & 5). It was so nice to see them all. My Aunt and Uncle live out here too and had thought that they could not get to see me as at their cabin in the mountains but they drove the 3/4 hours down to join us. It was such a   great surprise when I saw them walking through the door. Not seen them since my wedding which was more than 2 years ago. So made the whole trip worthwhile.

And now I have a day to myself to do some real damage at the shops. Flight not til 7pm so have a good 8 hours.    Sod the tmt fund I say!!!!!!!!!!!

Love to you all.

 Got you all raging about the article, still feel gutted about it

Anyway, i had a terrible day yesterday, felt tearful all day and then at night dh said we were invited to a BBQ today with friends who are pregnant. Havent seen her since she broke the news and the thought of facing her just set me off. Had a crying fit at bedtime about how unfair this life is. Anyway we got a call this morning from other friends saying the BBQ is cancelled as the couple have fallen out after a major row-----i know its a shame but i'm so happy i dont have to face them. Its so stupid as i will have to see them at some point
Spent the afternoon in Starbucks-yummm with our friends and goddaughter, weather is crap and going back over to their house to hit the vino later

Marsxp - Am praying for you and hope there is a nice crop of eggies. Try and chill and wait for your good news

Carolyn - I swear you are too rich and i'm jealous  Hit the shops with the plastic and that Blackberry
Glad you managed to get all your work done AND meet your relatives. Sounds like you have managed to have some chill time, just what you need before your cycle begins. Catch up soon, have a good flights xx

Gill - Hope your dh is ok. My mum has just found out she is diabetic and manages to control it fine although she swears everytime we are out for a meal as she desperately misses stuffing herself with the desserts
My af is due a few days before we go to the Big B and should be finished just before the app. Do you think they will still see me if i still have af?? Cant cancel everything for af
Any news on the hotel you decided to pick?

Becky - Diets huh, i lost lots a few years ago and although i havent put it all back on, i continually struggle. I bloody hate it and need to be born agian and come back as Kate Moss lol

Rachel - No probs about showing you the tat, just dont know how to put the pic on here. Do you know how to do it?

Aunty - Crack on with that list, i know Becky is taking the mick, but i need one to

Ok will love you and leave you
