Mia! That's crazy. Have you found a new place yet? Geez, talk about stress!

I'm hanging in there. Can't wait until my doctor's appointment next Monday. We get to do another ultrasound then to make sure she's growing. I'm fine for like a week after each appointment and then the worry sets in so that by the next appointment, I'm a crazy woman! AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHH!

HOLY COW MIA!!!!! I can't believe the jump in your payment? That is so frustrating to have to move now. Can you just refinance and go with a different type of loan? If you would like any info about that stuff my father had been in lending for over 30+ years and is one of the top lenders in the country for his firm. Just thought I would ask. Either way, I hope you get it all figured out soon. I keep hearing that Las Vegas is getting more and more expensive all the time but I can't believe that increase!!! Keep us posted and don't let it get you stressed. You sound very calm about it now which is great.

We had an Ob appointment Wed. and all looks good. I was just wondering how much weight everyone has gained. I'm just having some issues with that. I have been practically doubling my calories and and still I have only now gained a total of 5 lbs. I know I should be glad but I am just worried that it's not enough for twins. They measure great and have healthy hb's so I shouldn't worry but after all we have done I just want to make sure that we are all three healthy and growing as we should.

We find out on the 29th what we having. Bodie is so excited and he thinks it's one of each and I think it's two boys. Maybe one of each but I just don't think it's two girls. Any guesses?? We will let you know as soon as we do but man is it going to be a long 3 weeks!!!!

Hope all is well. Take care everyone!!!

Mia, that's madness - no wonder you decided to move! I hope you'll find something suitable very soon and don't have to worry about that too much. But of course it's a terrible drag and I feel for you.

I actually understand very well not wanting to do any of that stuff right now... We're going through something remotely similar: we're in the process of deciding between another two years here in Dallas and moving to Germany. We'll know quite soon - but nothing is soon enough, as we've already given up our apartment and will have to be out of here by the end of this month! So if we decide to stay in the area, we won't be able to find a house that quickly and will have to put all our stuff in storage and stay at a hotel for weeks. And we don't even know if we should rent or buy.... We're too busy to go looking right now. And if we decide to return to Europe, we'll be facing an even crazier move - having to organize a transatlantic move in just a couple of weeks... Our stuff would be AWOL (being shipped) for at least six weeks and we would have to find a place to live, a new OB etc in a new country ASAP - while I'm 20+weeks along. It'll be... well, interesting. I have, however, decided that sressing about it ahead of time is no use - we'll make the decision and then act accordingly.

At least life isn't boring :D

How's everyone else doing? Any scans coming up? Our next one is in two and a half weeks - the 20-week structural u/s that will hopefully give us good news about the baby's health. And beyond that we're also interested in getting the sex confirmed; my OB's guess was that it's a boy but we didn't get a perfect look so will wait until the next scan to be sure.

Hi Ladies, hope you are all well...

Mego, good luck on your scan and the week of peace it will bring you, then back to crazy lady times...

Mia, that jump in payments is ridiculous, not too many people could absorb that much of a hike, hope you find a nice new place for a more reasonable price!

Geez I'm a bit jealous of all of you ladies who have started off on your nurseries. I haven't even thought about it yet, still afraid that If I prepare for it that i might some how be jinxing myself..Plus my spare room is absolutely piled high with rubbish and I can't face going in there right now, I have nowhere else to put the rubbish (and can't bear to throw it away...) Oh well maybe baby will have to bunk with me and DH...

Lisa Marie, congratulations on your BFP and your numbers look excellent! I remember some of your old posts and have to say that you have been through the wringer! Well done and good luck mate.

Kimberly, I reckon I have put on about 4 - 5 kgs so far so I think that's about 8 to 11 pounds. Hmmm that doesn't sound too flash, I think I have the opposite of your problem. I've been reading a bit about weight gain and wouldn't worry too much, I'm sure at this stage it's your babies measurements which are important....I think some people actually lose weight in the first trimester and the second is when we can be expected to stack it on so plenty of time yet!

Rae, I will be having my 16 week scan just before your 20 week one...am getting nervous already! I also want to find out the sex if possible, for some reason I think I'm having a boy.

Hi girls,

It's nice to see you all doing so well. It's also nice to see that you all worry like crazy like I do. It's getting better in general, but things like having to sprint after my 3 year old and then having slight cramps all day just scare me to death!!!

Our adoption seems to being going along well. We are going to the birthmother's dr. appt tomorrow. That should be exciting and help us feel a little closer to him. He is due June 14 and ours is due October 26th so they'll be about 4 months apart. I am getting very excited, but when I think about specific instances where they'll both being crying or need to eat at the same time and I freak out a bit. I'm sure that's how those of you who are having twins feel.

We have our 17 weeks appt next week and an ultra sound for the sex of the baby. As soon as we know what it is I'm getting the room ready so I don't have to stress when Cade (I think that's what we're going to name him) comes! I'm worried about trying to decorate for a boy and a girl, but I really hope we have a girl. I will be excited to hear what you all are having.

Welcome to the new girls and good luck to those of you who are having to do a move. I don't envy that! Have a good week girls!

Meg,
I'm sure everything is well with your baby. It is normal to worry though. Im so jealous of all your USs. I have not had one since I was 10 weeks. I'm kind of mad that I picked the OB I did because I feel that they are in no hurry to get my pre-natal care rolling. It took over a month for them to even get me an appt. with the coordinator. And I still have not met with their DR yet. I chose them because I asked a friend and she said she heard good things about them. I feel like they act like I am lucky to be with them. I just hope I like the OB better than their office staff. I actually liked my "stand by" OB clinic. My initial impression was 100 times better. They seemed much more caring about getting me checked out asap because I first called them when I was already 12 wks. I would stay with them, but since DH is changing jobs, our new Ins won't cover them.

kholtan,
thanks for offering, but I'm not sure anyone is willing to refinace us right now. Vegas real estate is very expensive now. We get thousands of newcomers every month, all in search of the American dream. Everone says that if we were to stay in our house 5-6 years our house will be very valuable, but with such high payments (100% financing) and 2 babies on the way, it just seems unwise to stay right now. I just worry that next year when we get another tax assesment, our payment will go up several hundred dollars again. We found out that when you buy in a new community these huge taxes can come up when the county or city needs to make municipal improvements and stuff like that. They just pass the cost along to the home owners in the area. With our growth the way it is, that happens alot.
Hey, you're due about the same time as me. Have you felt your twins move yet (quickening)? I feel little flutters quite a bit today on baby A's side. I had felt her only a few times in the past few weeks. Not much movement on B's side yet. I dont' seem to be gaining weight too much yet. I constantly feel hungry and eat. I should get a scale because my OB appts are few and far between so far. I think I gained about 1 lb between 14 and 16 weeks. I know it should be more. I only gained 1-2lbs during my entire 1st semister.

rae76,
gosh you and I will probably be moving around the same time. Good luck! I hope you find a place you can settle down in for a little while. I think staying in a hotel would be hard. You can't really feel at home without at least some of your stuff. Are you from Germany? My DH's Dad was in the military and they lived in Germany when DH was about 5-6 yrs old, he loved it.

Shanny,
how exciting! Are you going to see the baby in an US at the birth mom's appt? I suppose taking care of a 4 month old and a newborn will be a lot like caring twins. I've read alot about twins and everyone says if you have them on the same schedule it's a lot easier. They all say they are easier than siblings with more of an age gap because twins tend to calm and entertain each other. I worry about the things you mentioned, but I also believe it will be easier in a lot of ways.

Well we had a real estate agent come to our house. In her opinion we will probably only get back our purchase price. That doesn't look good for us because then we'll have to pay closing fees of about $26,000 out of our pocket. :x Not sure what to do but we can't stay and pay that inflated mortgage. The payment was high in the first place. The agent said she has never seen a tax assesment like that and we should look into it, but I am way too tired and not all that willing to go through the hassle of fighting fo the house. We tried to refinance but we were told that it wouldn't help us because of the amount we owe compared to what it's worth and no one would refinace us now because we have not owned the house for a year yet. Plus mortgage companies are getting tougher because of all the forclosueres that have been going on. We have started looking for a house to rent, hopefully something bigger than our house with a 2 year lease. We can rent a really nice house for half what our mortgage payment is. We could use that extra cash for the babies and pay our IVF debt down quicker. We actually feel good about that.

Mia, what a situation :( We were just in Vegas about a month ago, and I got quite a comprehensive lecture from a local helicopter pilot (got do a cool flight from Grand Canyon to Vegas) concerning the crazy real estate in the area. Seems just mad. I hope you'll figure out something at least half satisfactory, as you don't really need the stress now!

I'm not from Germany (Finland, actually), so I don't have the advantage of returning to home turf :) Plus my German is really rusty so I want a doctor who speaks good English if we go there - there's no way I'll discuss my baby and birthing in a broken language!!! But the great thing about moving there would be being closer to the family - from here you can't really do weekend trips home...

I agree that staying at a hotel would really suck, but if we stay here that's probably going to be our only option for a while. Once we know what our decision will be, I'll have only about 2 weeks before having to vacate this apt. and it's just not enough to find something new and nice (it will, after all, be the place for the baby as well so we want to pick carefully). If we move across the Atlantic, though, we'll be without our stuff for 6-8 weeks anyway... and in that case I'll probably go visit home, maybe stay at Mom & Dad's or something....

Happy Mother's Day, all you mothers-to-be! Just think, next year we'll actually be celebrating! I've always dreaded this holiday in the past!

Hope everyone is well--this has been a quiet thread!

Happy Mother's Day to us for sure!!!!!! I'm celebrating it to the nines since I believe we deserve it! :D Hope it was a great one for everyone!

Meg and Rae~ Though I don't desire to move at this time I sure do admire your "Go with the flow" attitudes. It's all in your PMA and you both will do fine regardless of what or where the changes take you. Good luck to you both and at least you will be doing it as a mom-to-be or new mommy. Can't wait to hear what exciting things the future has for you both.

Shanny~ How sweet that you and Dh get to be involved. I love that she still picked you and could see that you will be great parents. Hope it all goes smoothly and that the experience is everything you had hoped for. Siblings so close in age will be adorable. Good luck and keep us posted.

Well, my worry over weight has started to go away. I haven't gained anymoe but there is no doubt that I am PG anymore! Everyone can tell now and regardless of pounds, I can see that they are growing. I can feel twin A move but only of the entire sack swishes to a new place. No feet or kicking yet but I can tell that baby A is a busy little baby and baby B is more reserved and mellow. They have been this way since the beginning. A's hb is faster and has always been the one on the u/s to be moving while B has been a slower hb and always just hanging out with it's hands clasped during u/s. Baby B also seems more stubborn in u/s to give us what we are looking for. I just wonder if they will be like this when they are here? Can't wait.

Well, we are headed to the river to enjoy an afternoon with friends. It's a bit brisk here right now but at least I'll be out in the fresh air.

Take care and Happy Mother's Day!!!!

It's pretty quiet here, which I take means that you're all doing wonderfully? :D

It looks like we might stay, so we're now looking for a bigger apt nearby. We'll see how that goes.

Yesterday I got back the results from the second part of my sequential screen and they were all great - no reason to expect any trouble with regard to the coditions they screen for. It's not like we expected anything horrible but that's always happy news :)

Eagerly waiting for our 20+3 scan next week - it's our structural u/s so it's important, and should also confirm whether we truly are expecting a boy.

Take care ladies!

Hello ladies, hope you all had a nice mother's day. I flew to my family's home in N. CA. last Saturday for a baby shower my step-mom threw for my step-sis and me. She is also expecting twins so it was quite a little event. MY sis is about six mo. PG and looks like 8 mo. She kept saying "this is what your going to look like in 8 weeks". I had a little (sorry if TMI) brown discharge last thurs and fri, then a tiny bit of pink discharge sat and sun. When I went in for my OB apt on Mon, the Dr told me to go on bed rest and she would try to get my US bumped up sooner to see what is going on in there. We did hear the HBs again and they still sound good. I'm not too worried. The discharge is back to normal now. DH thinks it may have been because (TMI) we had sex the day before the "brown stuff". The OB did say it could happen after sex. Now DH is afraid to have sex again til after the babies are born. Oh and we should be able to find out the genders when we do the US this Fri. :D

Looks like we found a place to rent. A tiny bit smaller than our house, but the rent is great. We should be moving around July 1st. It's in an area we love. It's more of an urban area, which is more "us", but is in a gated community so we can feel secure living there with our little ones. The house is within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, movie theatre, Whole Foods (my fave), Library, Multigenerational center (with a nice big pubic pool), and 2 parks that include dog parks for our fur babies. :D We are both excited about it. we are just waiting for our credit check to go through.

Rae,
That's good news about your Seq screen. :) good luck with the apt hunting. Staying is probably the least stressful thing to do. Hope you find something you love.

Kimberly,
isn't it exciting to finally feel those little beans move? My baby A is also the more active one so far. A also has been the stronger of the 2 since the beginning. But baby B is my little fighter. In my med records it's says that B's HB was a little slow at 6wks and might not develop further, but he is still with us and his HB is pretty equal with twin A. At 10 wks they we're very close in size too. I have always refered to baby A as "she" and baby B as "he". I guess we'll find out what they really are on Friday.:D

Mia--Glad to hear that you found a place. I bet you're glad that that stress is behind you. Scary about the spotting, but glad to hear that it's not a problem. Hope that you do get one of each!

My appointment went well on Monday--she's looking good although we did move my due date back 1 week. The sad news is that it will probably be my last ultra sound. Isn't that insane? You get so used to getting scanned all the time, it's going to be hard to go cold turkey. But I suppose it's a good thing as it means the pregnancy is going well and the baby is nice and healthy.

She's really been kicking me this week. It now feels like an actual kick instead of just the "flutter" of the past month. I think she knows I'm nervous about not seeing her on scans for the next 4 months, so she's kicking me to let me know she's still there! Anyway, my dh was able to feel her kick yesterday so that was a big milestone for us both!

Hi girls,

This thread was kind of slow for a week, glad to see you are all doing well. We had an u/s on Monday and they think our little one is a girl. She was being very modest so they are not sure. She was moving around like crazy, I can't wait to feel it! I'm 17 weeks so I haven't felt much, definetly not any flutters. Someone said theirs felt like popcorn and I may have felt something like that. I can't wait to go back at 20 weeks for the structual u/s, hopefully they can confirm it is a girl.

Meg I agree, it will be hard to just have one more u/s and be done. but you're right at this point it means all is well. My clothes still fit, but they're starting to be uncomfortable. I have to tell you guys I bought some gauchos at old navy maternity for like $12, and I'm going back to buy a pair in every color!! They are so light and comfortable and will be so cool for the summer. You should check them out! Anyway, off to put my ds down for his nap! (and myself too!)

Hello everyone! sounds like everyone is doing well. We finally had our anatomy US. We are having twin BOYS! :D I really thought I was going to have girl/boy twins. The more I think about "the boys" the more excited I am about them being the same gender, I think their bond with each other will be just that much more special. My Ob bumped up my US appt. a few days because I had some spotting and wanted the Peri. to check my cervix asap. Fortunately it is fine and everything seems normal. The twins are the same size and are measuring right where they should be. they both appear to have all their fingers and toes, but baby A kept one hand in a fist and only opened it for a second so we couldn't count his digits. Baby B was hiding one hand behind his head. I have another US in a month, hopefully we will see those other fingers then. I was so amazed to see what perfect little humans they are. We even got a video of the whole US, it's like my most prized possesion right now. :)

We had our 20week ultrasound Thursday. They did a Level 2 ultrasound because my DD was born with under developed kidneys and they never caught it on the ultrasound. Anyway's, everything looked good and it's a GIRL!!! I thought for sure it was a boy as when they did the NT scan at 12 1/2 weeks, her first incliniation was boy, but then said when she went back to look she really couldn't tell, but my acupncturist said according to my pulses, his guess was a boy and he's usually 80% right. Oh well, my DD is happy and so am I. My husband is a little disappointed as he knows this was our last shot, but he'll get over it soon enough!!! Hope everyone's ultrasounds coming up go well.
