Goooood morning ladies!

How are you guys doing today?
HEY! It's the weeeeeekend!
Sorry... I think I'm flying a little high... I read your last posts while eating a big bowl of banana French toast swimming in maple syrup plus a cup of hot chocolate...
I'm doing real well, as you can guess. I had a nice special time with my DH this morning, trying to appreciate every second of it since it will probably not happen again till June 14th! Or more!

(well, can't now before EC, then it hurts, then it's ET...) Isn't it the best way to begin the weekend? *sigh* It makes me think about the first year of our relationship, when we didn't live in the same cities... geez, sometimes we'd have "breakfast" at 2pm because we stayed in bed too long! LOL
I gave myself the usual shots this morning. Hehehe I really hope that it was the last time! EVER! So I can move on to trigger and then begin even more painful shots, lol! Ah, well, injecting in the tush will change places at least! Novelty, yay!

We don't have any special plans this weekend, other than going to the clinic tomorrow, and planting the tomato plants my DH bought yesterday. I will most probably go through my unfinished cross-stitch projects and see which one I attack!
And by the way, I will cancel those clients on the day after ET and I'll postpone them all to the following weekend. They had been warned after all, and it's not like I postpone for a month. It's not that I won't be able to focus, on the contrary. I saw 4 patients on the very night of my last ET and it went fine. I saw patients right after break-ups, fights with loved ones, shocks, big joys, and so on. Doing therapy usually has an incredibly calming effect on me, because I have this capacity to just go into another mode. Those who see me in therapy mode and in normal mode see a difference. It's as if a natural switch goes on and off. However, I think I must pamper myself that weekend, and take it easy. This time, I'll play the princess for real. After all, the problem occurred at implantation last time, and I must take presure off my shoulders. I'll just wait until tomorrow so my EC (and ET) dates are confirmed, and then I'll call my clients.
...HA! I just got a call from my clinic! Apparently, I'm the only one coming for a u/s tomorrow and the doctor wants to sleep longer for a change and LOL they asked me to come at 8:30am. Wonderful; that means we'll sleep, too!
hrobinson: honestly, I think intramuscular vs subcutaneous might not matter that much. At my clinic, they give us a sheet with injection sites on the arms, thighs, and tummy. The only meds-specific recommendation they give is for Repronex; given that it stings and irritates the skin, they tell us that many women report less discomfort when injecting in the tummy. But that's it. So far I've been on Lupron, Puregon and Repronex. I always inject Repronex in the tummy, but injecting Puregon or Lupron in the thigh or tummy was absolutely painless 97% of the time. I just didn't try the arm because then my DH would have had to do it and I prefer to do the injections myself. I still don't know where they'll ask me to inject the Progesterone (PIO), but I think most people do it in the tush. I don't know who gave this advice and if it was on this thread, but putting ice on the injection site for about 10 minutes before the injection, then inject, then sit on a hot water bottle for about 10-15 minutes helps lessen the pain (ice) and facilitates absorption (heat) so you suffer less and don't have bumps, or very few. ENJOY THE TIME OFF! YAAAAAY!
My2LnT: heeeeey look at those fab numbers!

Looking forward to have news in that department tomorrow!

You must be impatient to have that u/s!
Jul1e: it's SO GREAT that your hormones behaved themselves mood-wise! It must have made quite a difference on the type of week you had!

Woohoo on the nice follies! It's so great that you're exactly on the same schedule!

I take it that you won't trigger this weekend, if you go back to the clinic for an u/s on Monday? Or do you go for EC? Okay, about ET at 2,3, or 5 days... I tried to do a quick Medline search, but found little info. They probably tested it, though. But like the other said, it really depends on the embryologist's skills to have the embies survive longer in the petri dish... plus the quality of the embies of course. My clinic used to do the same as Tanya's. They looked at your embies on day 2 and decided if you came for ET on day 3 or 5 depending on their strength. I still thought it was the case on my first IVF. But right before EC, the nurse told me that, after they had accumulated enough data to make a valid analysis, they found no difference in success rates between day 3 and day 5 ET. She told me that the best place for an embryo to develop is the womb anyway, and now they systematically do day 3 transfers and freeze at that stage (though they would adapt for special cases of course). But like the others said, it depends on your clinic (if they systematically do day 3, think about it, and freeze on that day, they don't have to pay the embryologist for those two extra days...) and on you, too. And on your embies. And some real low grade embies or very young embies developed into beautiful healthy babies, too, so I guess it's almost a personal choice.
ltaylor: woooohooo! Congrats on AF's visit! Isn't it exciting? YAY! Hehehehe thanks for your kind words! And I guess.. grow lining, grow!
TansRN: OH GOSH I LOVED that comment about Angela getting worse! LOL!

Thank you so much for understanding my initial disappointment!

You're precious! (and by the way on Thursday I sneaked into the Jan babies thread and saw you had posted and it was soooooo cute to see you there! yaaay!) And the RV trip sounds absolutely fun and beautiful! You're gonna have so much fun!

And you'll probably show a little bit by then, too!

Nice pics!! (ahem, or you'll just look fat... ah, well! LOL)
arizonakiwi: Hello sweet pea! I'm glad to know you're feeling better! Coughing is definitely worse then congestion, even if neither is fun. At least you can sleep!

Your DH sounds like a biiiiiig baby!

Hehehe but he deserves to be proud of his boys indeed! They did such a good job! Please give us news about your remaining embies! You're SO LUCKY to have a photoooooo! Awww, I wish I had one and I could see two eyes and a mouth, too! (LOL) And I found that image of him talking to your belly absolutely beautiful and sweet. ooooh you're going to be pampered! And you deserve it so much, you've been through a LOT! Yes, it looks like our grandmas are very much alike; aren't they just amazing role models? I really, really want to be like her when I'm her age. And Angelaaaa... ack! You gave me my own medicine! What would I advise my patients to do? LOL I'd tell them to stop feeling so responsible and dutiful all the time an cut themselves some slack for a change, because they'd especially need it in a time like that. THERE!

And yes, I remember what I told you, and that made me think about you... my body is doing what it can, and hehehehe it's teasing me indeed, but it's okay. Your words were extremely comforting and I'll put them in my pockets!
pat: yay on the cold being away! Glad you're feeling better!

Like Tanya said, I really hope you start feeling worse very soon!
tpiper: OH, LOL! I laughed SO HARD at your DH's comment! LOL LOL LOL! I gotta share that one! It's priceless!

Don't worry too much about your clinic, hunny. They will take how far along you are in your cycle into consideration when they interpret the results They won't compare your results to a day 1 if you're on day 3!
gbnut: oh my.. I'm really sorry that you're in so much pain! Can you call your clinic? I remember progesterone giving AF pain in so many women... spotting, as long as it's spotting, does not mean you're having AF sweetie. It's just that that pain really sounds bothersome. It hope it's only temporary and that, with rest, you'll feel better. Hang in there darling; your test is coming. *HUGS*
Okay, gotta update that list! Take care ladies!
