hi girls... a quick one..

rachael- BIG CONGRATS on the birth of makayla!!! she sounds like a little peanut... can not wait to see her picture!! hopw that you are doing well also... how did the boys take to their sister?? take care of yourself!!

cowgirl- wow... i can not get more then 3 hours out of gavin... we keep him up and do the same things... i thought that i was the only mean mom that keep her baby up... but he is a BIG TIME eater and is at 9lbs already.. i think that he's going to be a big boy!! the doc was surprised that a breastfed baby is gaining weight at about 1 1/2-2oz a day... at least i know i got good BB milk!!! i have sore BBs with going 3 1/2 hours... i could not imagine 5-7 hours!!!

tasha-i thik that 4oz a feeding is good... i think that we are about that... are you weeing yet?? have you introduced formula?? make sure that aubrey will take the formula before you stop pumping... our one son was very picky and did not take to it... we started mixing an ounce in with the breastmilk, and slowly adding more formula and less breastmilk... also when you do stop pumping, try and do it slowly... like do not pump as long as you normally do and decress the amount every couple of days... and when you stop all together... wear a really tight bra, and it helps, but it is uncomfortable for a day or two, then it gets a little better every day!!

Kim and DH.... hope that you are meeting your new little ones... hope that everything is going or has gone smoothly!!! you are in our thoughts and prayers!!!

casy- glad things are going well... and your DD is doing well... how do you think she will react to the baby?? is she one that like babies, or can she take them or leave them?? our 3YO DS is doing better... he's so full of energy and is learning to be gentle and not so wild around Gavin...

well, i hope that everyone else is well, and doing good!!!

Hi Colleen- thanks for the pointers as well... I have actually cut out one of my pumpings and so far so good... My lactation nurse told me to decrease my pumping time on day 1 and then put cabbage leaves in my bra and use ice. I did that on Wednesday and it wasn't so bad... then she told me to not pump on day 2 and just use cabbage leaves & ice... then on day 3 just use cabbage leaves - so far so good. Now on Monday I'll cut back on another pumping - which will leave me down to 2 pumpings a day (morning & night). Then I'm going to cut back on my pumping times with both of them.... right now I'm pumping about 30 minutes at a time. We'll see how it goes... also I'll make sure to start adding formula to Aubrey's bottles to make sure she likes it. Now I just need to use all the breast milk in my freezer... I actually have no room for meat, ice cream, etc.

Well Aubrey is waking up so I need to go...

I'll check back in to see if Kim has delivered her little ones.

Hello everyone! I haven't had time to read all the posts, but I just wanted to send an update from Ohio.....

Well, yesterday, on June 14th, our twins made their arrival! Ellie Rose Ulrich arrived at 4:20 in the afternoon. She was 19 inches long and weighed 5 1/2 pounds. Braeden Alan Ulrich arrived at 4:22 pm. He was 17 3/4 inches and weighed just over 5.2 pounds. Both babies are doing very well! They are learning to feed, I'm learning to nurse, and DH is trying to figure out how diapers work!

Both babies are very healthy; however, since they are small, they are spending some time each day in the nursery to help them maintain their body temperature. We should know in the next day or two if they can go home with us. They might have to spend a couple extra days in the hospital to help with their weight and body temperature; but, we don't know yet. We are hoping that all the feedings will help them be strong enough to come home!

Sorry I don't have pics yet. We have to down load them at home before I can send them. I'll try to send pics out as soon as I can!

Hi girls!

Real quick....I've read your posts and wish I had more time...but....you can only guess how little time I have! Babies are doing well. They're both nursing okay so far...no milk yet, but I'm hoping it comes in tomorrow.

both babies are spending time in the nursery to keep their temps controlled. They also have to supplement with formula to get their weights up. Braeden lost a bit too much yesterday. Nursing really makes him burn a lot of calories. as of now i will be dismissed tomorrow (my doc might be able to get me an extra days). The babies probably won't be able to come home untill Monday or Tuesday. I'm obviously not happy about that, but I know the doctors want to make sure both babies are in good shape before they go home.

Wish us luck! I can't wait for things to "settle" a bit!

When I get home I'll try to post photos on the bucket....they are just adorable, if I do say so myself!!!! :D

Wow i go away for a few days and 3 new babies join us.
Congratulations to cmoscar on the birth of Makayla, she sounds adorable i guess she wanted to chose when she made her grand arrival. Hope you are well.
Buckeyegal how fantastic a boy and a girl you must be so exstatic. You did a fantastic job keeping them with you for so long i don't know how you coped. Love the names particuly Ellie! :)
Thanks for all the tips on trying to turn Bella, i am sure she is still in the same position however i keep getting movement all over so who knows where she is lying now. I think she is going to keep me waiting until the last minute. I tried putting my feet up the wall but got a little stuck it wasn't a pretty site i think i looked like a whale trying to get myself down. Luckily noone viewed this apart from my friends 2 dogs who just stared at me like i was some mad woman. I will try and see if i can get hold of the incense thanks for the info cramus.
I had a lovely break staying with friends we ate out everyday which i am sure has not helped my weight gain but tough. It was very relaxing, if a little hot at times walking about. Back to reality now with concrete floors, dust, floors being laid and chaos. Oh well a little indulgence does us all good never thought i would get excited about having tiled floors beneath my feet!! How things change.
So who is the next one due i will have to look back.
Take care to everyone mums to be keep rubbing them bellies and new mummies keep having them cuddles you lucky things.
Love Ellie xx

Good Morning Everyone,

Congratulations to all the new arrivals this week! I hope everyone is doing well.

I am sorry I have not logged on but I have not been feeling well. Not to give you TMI but since Thursday I developed really bad hemorrhoids so bad that I can not sit or stand without a lot of pain. I'm trying to keep up the PMA but I am so down. I don't know how I am going to deliver and I can't image how much worse they are going to get after the delivery. I also have no clue how I am going to take care of a baby when I can barely get out of bed these days. My DH has been great and my mom has been coming over to take care of me when he is at work. I am trying everything to make them better but no such luck. I think I am feeling a little better then they get worse again. I have a Dr's apt. on Tuesday but I am going to try to make it Monday instead to see if there is anything else I can do. I'm sorry to whine but I know you guys will understand.

I'll try to check back in when I can.

All my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

xox

Kim, my milk was a bit slower to come in with this baby then the other two and I am sure it is because the c-section. For me it was very frustrating waiting for it because I know Naomi wanted more and it just wasn't there to give. But everyone assured me as long as she got the colostrum she was okay. I would imagine it is very common to have to supplement with something. You are doing great and it will be a relief once your milk comes in.

Ellie, I think Nance should be next :-) Good luck with getting all the contruction done before the new arrival. :-) Also please be careful breathing all that dust.

Nance, you might be surprized how much better you feel after delivery almost instantaneouly. Yesterday my oldest daughter stayed the night with a friend and I had to feed the horses. It felt SOOOOOOOOOOO good because I was able to walk without wadling and felt SOOOOOOOO much better than I had for months! Take care and home the pain in the butt gets better quick.

Take care everyone and tell those Daddy's Happy Fathers Day

Hello Girls,

I am very sorry for the delay. I finally came home late on Friday. Makayla was a little jaundice and kind of held us up a little. She is fine and we are really happy to be home.

The internet at the hospital was really slow and I was not able to upload many web pages. Anyway, I see Kim was right behind me! Congradulations on a matched set! They sound wonderful and healthy. I hope you are able to find a routine that works best. I can't wait to see your pictures.

We have been running since Friday. My oldest son had to be taken for last minute items he needed for his summer camp. Saturday he also had a birthday party and then off to load his equipment at the church. This morning we had to take DS over the church for an early departure (I cried like a baby when we had to say good bye). From there we went to breakfast and then took the MIL (a very long story) to the airport. We finally got home and all of us (Makayla, Dad, Big Brother and I) all went to sleep. It was great because we all slept for 4 hours! Makayla is slepping great at night. She only has one or two feedings. She seems to really like eating because she nurses for 45-60 minutes at a time. She has her boys (dad and brothers) wrapped around her little fingers. They all adore her and love looking at her. My youngest DS has been very helpful abd devoted to her despite all his issues prior to the delivery.

I am glad everyone is doing well. Nance, it will get better and once you hold your angel, you will feel great! Ellie, I hope you are able to enjoy these last weeks. It goes so fast.

I will post some pics right now, so check it out.

Sending love and happiness to all of you!

Rachel Makayla looks beautiful you must be so proud. You wear me out listening to everything you have been doing. Do you ever slow down? Pleased that you are getting some sleep and that you have a happy feeder. Hopefully we will be as fortunate.
Nancy i feel for you. Sorry it is so miserable at the moment i hope you get some relief soon. I have heard that sitting in cold water can help with the discomfort. I only have very mild haemorroids at the moment and found a relief pointing the shower hose on cold down.
Hope veryone else is well.

Hello Everyone....

Well we have had a very busy weekend... we have been in the hospital w/ Aubrey since Saturday morning. I took her to the doctor last week Thursday for a bump on her nipple (it was red & hard). Her doctor gave her an antibiotic and had me come back on Friday afternoon. The nipple seemed to look better on Friday, but he still wanted to see me back on Saturday morning. When we took her in on Saturday morning it actually looked worse and he wanted her admitted to the hospital to be put on IV Antibiotics. He then came in yesterday to check her and her nipple had gotten worse... so he had a pediatric surgeon come in to look at it. The surgeon said that there was a build up of fluid and he drained it. Now we're just waiting on the culture to come back to determine what the bacteria is and how to treat it... I'm hoping we'll have those results by tonight/early tomorrow morning. Then they'll determine what medicine to give her and hopefully we can get discharged by tomorrow afternoon... it has been draining physically & emotionally on us - however it doesn't seem to phase Aubery at all (except when they had to take blood & giver her her IV). I'll keep you all posted for sure....

Kim- I hope things are going well for you, DH & the baby's... can't wait to see pictures of them.

Nance- sorry to hear about your bottom... I actually developed a pretty bad hemorrhoid a week before Aubrey was born (my first ever). I used Preperation H and that seemed to help a bit... however, after pushing it got worse. Try ice packs, a warm sitz bath and some tucs pads... they all worked realy well for me and it is completely gone already. Hang in there sweetie...

Racheal- Makayla is so cute.... try and take it easy and enjoy her.

Hope the rest of you girls are doing well and taking care of your baby's & bellies.

Tasha

Tasha i am so sorry to hear that Aubrey has not been well, poor little thing. I am sure the doctors will get her sorted. My mum told me that when i was a few weeks old i had an absses on my nipple that they had to lance and drain and everything was fine after no scares and that was 36 years ago. Take care and keep us posted when you can

Tasha - My thoughts are with you and your little one. It is hard going through even the smallest of things when our angels are so little. I am praying for good results and a speedy recovery for Audrey.

Ellie - I hope you are well. You little one will be hear soon. I am checking in daily to see how all of you are doing.

Nance - I hope no news is good news. I am hoping you little one moves over enough to make it bearable. The last weeks are the ones that make every woman welcome labor with open arms.

Colleen - It has been a while since we heard from you. I hope your little man is doing well and getting big. It seems like everyone is so busy.

I guess I am the lucky one in that Makayla is a heavy sleeper and I am able to get things done inbetween her naps. Today, DS and I cleaned the kitchen and made homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. He love cooking and we have also started our homemade spagetti sauce so dinner will be ready when DH gets home at 6:00. I am amazed at how much I am enjoying being home. I have found a routine and it seems to be working. I miss my other DS though. It seems like I think about him at odd times (when it is quiet in the house) because he is normally the noise maker. I called him at camp, but he was too busy to come to the phone. I hope he is having a good time.

I guess I will check back again later.

Love to all!
