hi gals,

not much time. we did make it home from the hospital yesterday. unfortunately, last night was hell as braeden was up all night with pain from his circumcision. when he wasn't screaming Ellie was. plus, my milk came in and I got engorged, so neither baby was feeding well.

feedings have gotten a bit better today, but it is sooooo hard! Racheal, I don't know how you do it! all i do is eat, feed, sleep. eat, feed, sleep. my mom is over helping and dh is trying to help as well. it's been tough. because the babes were so small (and twins), we breatsfeed and supplement. We're on an every 3 hour feeding routine. hell right now, i tell you.

i will try to post pics tonight. although, i've been thinking i could for the past three.

:?

sorry to whine.

Tasha, I'm so sorry to hear about Aubrey. I will keep her in my prayers!

Girls, i feel like i'm spinning right now. I'm trying to keep sane. Say a little prayer for me!

hi girls... we are ok here... i'm still trying to get Gavin to sleep more.. i'm glad that he's a big eater and getting big, but sleep is also good... i kept him up for 4 hours last night and hoped to get some good sleep... he was only down for 2 1/2 hours... he goes 3-3 1/2 between feedings, but last night wanted more... i think that they said that babies have a growth at 3 weeks and he was 3 weeks yesterday!! i can not beleive how three weeks has gone..

kim- you will be in my prayers... hopfully they can get on the same page and get you a little rest.. soon braedens peeps will be feeling better. try and pump a little before they feed if you are engorged.. it helped me a lot... it will get better, these first days are the hardest!! HANG IN THERE!!

Rachael- i so wish i had a sleeper.... but i guess no of my kids were really good sleepers... my 3yo DS was 6 months before he was sleeping through the night ( still doesn't for the most part) I'm glad that you are liking being home.. i'm glad i've gotten into a schedule and am fixing dinner and managing to do laundry, some cleaning and making dinner... How long is DS away?? I'm sure he's missing you too, but also having a lot of fun!!

Ellie- hope that you too are well, and taking care... soon we'll all be over on the other side.. it's you, nance, and casy that are left...right??

tasha- hope that aubrey is doing better and they have figured it all out.. hopfully you guys are back at home, resting well!! you guys are in our prayers too... hang in there... just think she will not remember a thing when she gets older... it's so hard seeing your little one like that~!!! take care!!!

cowgirl-hope qall is well with you and naomi... hope that you are taking care!!

take care all

Hello Girls-

Well we're finally home from the hospital... we got discharged today at 6:00pm. They finally figured out that Aubrey has MRSA (a staph infection - basically a bacterial skin infection). They have her on a pretty strong antibiotic and she seems to be doing just fine now... thankfully. I think it was harder on me than it was on her. I have an appointment w/ her doctor on Thursday for a checkup.. so please keep your fingers crossed that everything continues to get better.

Kim- hang in there sweetie... I'm sure it's hard right now, but you can do it. Hopefully within the next few days you'll be able to get them on some sort of feeding schedule.... and remember ask for all the help you can get (it will help to keep you sane).

Colleen- I can't believe our little ones are 3 weeks old already... time is just flying by. I'm so not looking forward to going back to work.... it's going to kill me to leave my little girl. Well hopeflly Gavin gets better at the whole sleeping thing... it's also funny you should mention the 3 week growth spurt - Aubrey was pretty fussy this past weekend and not napping like she normally does. She also went into the hospital weighing 7 lbs. 14 oz. and she came out weighing 8 lbs. 12 oz. - my little porker! Also Gavin is such a cutie... I'll try and post more pictures soon...

I hope everyone else is doing well and taking care... can't wat to hear about more baby's being born soon.

Tasha

Good Morning Girls!

Tasha - I ma thrilled to hear things are looking better. Aubrey should do just fine. I know once they know the strain of bacteria, it is much easier to treat it. It also sounds like your little one is growing fast and thats a great sign.

Colleen - My boys were not sleepers per say, but this one seems to be. Although, I have been taking Vicadin to control the pain from the C-section. This might be making her sleepy. However, I finally stopped all the Vicadin Monday night since I seem to be getting better. Right now I am just taking Advil. Last night she still did pretty good. We have a routine that seem s to work for her. We start about 1 hour before bedtime by waking her up and playing with her. Then we sit down and read or listen to music with her. It all ends in a lotion massage with the JJ Bedtime lotion. She really seems to like this part the best. One last good feeding later, she is out until at least 1:00 am. I hope yours all sleep a little better. As for DS, he will be gone until Saturday. I am actually really worried about him today because there are two frontal boundaries clashing right around the area where they are camping. I am really worried about him getting too wet/cold at night and having an asthma attack.

Kim - Do not compare your situation to mine! You are doing really well. I have only every had one baby at a time and after two pratice runs, I seem to have the procedure down pat. You are a first time mom and I envy how well you are doing. Becareful not to over do yourself because you have had a C-Section and overdoing it will delay and possibly complicate your healing process. You are recovering from surgery as well as pregnancy and it is a long road. I hope your angels settle down a little and let you get some rest.

Ellie - I still hope you are well. I am anxious to hear of your arrival.

Jeck - It has been a long time. I hope your angel is ready to come home soon. Did your trip g well?

Nance - I hope you are still well. I am praying your comfort increases these last days.

Trisha - I hope Naomi is doing well and you are continuing to recover smoothly. I am amazed at how well I have been doing. I am pretty much up and running despite the surgery. The OB that delivered my baby was not my regular OB, but she did an awesome job. I freaked out when they started putting in the epidural and she dealt with me smoothly and with compassion. She did not talk me through the procedure and thus I bearly knew what was happening until right before Makayla was born. This made it easier on me because my focus went from talking to DH and my friend to watching them clean and prep Makayla. It was wonderful.

We are well. I am sitting on our porch watching the clouds clear up and drinking my beloved coffee. Makayla is next to me in her bassinet sleeping and a contractor is inside working on fixing the mess my older son had done several months back when he flooded our upstairs. We finally got around to hiring someone to do the work. This afternoon I am going to drive for the first time in over a week. I have an allergy appointment today to check on my asthma and do some allergy testing. Hopefully Makayla will be taking one of her long naps during the whole thing. Hope everyone is well.

hi gals...

tasha--I'm glad Aubrey is back home! Good to hear that they've figured out the problem. I'm sure she'll be well soon.

Thanks to all of your advice/comfort. It is really really hard. BUT, today was a better day! I would love some input though....the hospital really stressed that I needed to have a 3 hour feeding schedule with the twins. So, if I feed at 1, then I need to feed again at 4....well, that was getting very stressful for all involved. The twins didn't like it, they wailed and screamed when I HAD to wake them up, and they didn't feed very well. So, yesterday afternoon, I decided to just let them wake up when they were hungry. (Which I know a lot of full term babies do just fine). We had a much better go of it that way. The babies did end up waking every 4 hours during the day, and every 3 at night....so not too far off what the hospital recommended. PLUS, they actually ate better and were more relaxed....(As I am concerned about stressing them out....they need to gain weight, and I'm afraid stress will cause them to actually LOSE weight...) Does this sound like a bad idea to go against the hospital's recommendations? I do see the pediatrician tomorrow, so he might tell me where to go and how to get there, but I just feel like stressing the family out is not a good way to go. :?

Other than that, I'm STILL trying to figure out how to post pics for you gals! We got a new camera, and I'm an idiot right now, so I can't seem to figure out the softwared that goes with it. DH will have it worked out soon....don't worry though....they are ADORABLE!!! :D

I hope you all are well. I wish I had time for personals. But I do check in on you gals, and I think of you OFTEN!!!! We are blessed!

Hi Kim- I think letting the babes wake when they are good and ready is a very good thing. That's what I do with Aubrey.... I never wake her - otherwise if I did she would be crabby and wouldn't eat well. However, run everything by your pediatrician tomorrow when you go to visit him... I'm sure he'll be able to help you with everything.

Keep up the good work...
Tasha

hi girls...

we are good... beleive it or not all 3 of my boys are napping... i should be too, but we are going on a full 4 hour strech of sleep.. Gavin slept 4 hours straight... so i woke up a little more refreshed!!! Gavin is geting really big he's 9lbs 8oz...

Kim- they are sosososos so cute.. i love ellies bow... as for feeding, i had to wake my kids, as they are typically not good at waking themselves... and there was the concern about jaundice, not we are on a need basis and Gavin wakes up all the time to feed... i do try and keep him up more during the day, thus waking him, as we are trying to get him to sleep more during the night... as for feeding... if you are BFing they say 8-12 feedings a day, and formula is 6-8...so i think that you'll be ok, as long as they are gaining the weight... your doc will know if they are gaining good weight, we actually have a baby scale that we used in the begining to make sure he was gaining good weight....hang in there sweetie...

rachael-hope that DS managed to stay dry... are you guys near the nasty flooding?? i keep hearing about all the floods down there, hope that you guys managed to stay dry.. Gavin gave me 4 hours of sleep last night... it's amazing how more refreshed i feel.. i woke up before all the kids and showered and actually put on makeup!! i think it's a first is 3 weeks... so i think that we are going to do the same thing tonight that we did last night..these past few days we've had another batch of visitors... all the people that wait a few weeks to see the baby deceide to show up on the same days!!!....

tasha-so glad that you are home and they figured out aubreysifection so she gets better really quick...hope your appointment went well today!!! waiting to seesome more photos.... you say she's a porker, but 8 12 is not that bad...Gavins 9lbs 8oz talk about porker!!!!! i think my brestmilk is too high cal... maybe he should be on skim breastmilk?? How's the weeing going?? are you still pumping?? has she tried formula??

hope you all are well... and waiting for more babies to arive!!!

Hi gals,

WEnt to the pediatrician today. Braeden is gaining weight, but Ellie lost 2 ounces. So, we are going to have to do the 3 hour feeds....Ellie doesn't like it, but I guess we'll figure it out somehow. Good news, though...neither baby has jaundice! (We were told that early twins are more susceptible (sp?), so we're relieved with that news.)

Colleen, glad Gavin's sleeping a bit better for you!

Racheal--How's DS surviving camp?

Nance--I know your turn is coming soon...good luck!

I hope the rest of you are well. I so wish I had more time to write!

Hello Girls... I have a few minutes before dinner is done so I thought I'd write.

Colleen- glad to hear Gavin slet 4 hours last night for you.. you must feel energized. Wow 9lbs. 8oz. - what a good eater you have. Well the weening is going really well.. I'm only pumping twice a day now (morning & night). I used to get about 18oz. at each of those pumpings and now I'm only getting 8-9oz. so my milk supply is slowing down... and we started introducing formula this week (actually yesterday) and so far so good. I'm mixing 1/2 oz. into her milk.... next week I'll switch to adding an 1oz.

Kim- well glad to hear the baby's are doing well... I'm sure Ellie will start to gain weight very soon. Also great news that they don't have jaundice... And they are adorbale... I saw the pictures and I could just eat them up. I'll have to ask Pam who she thinks they look like.

As for the rest of you girls I hope your doing well... Racheal & Cowgirl - I hope the floods aren't affecting you.

Tasha

Wanted to wish Kim a happy Birthday today. I remembered we shared the day. I know you are really busy with the twins but try and get 5 minutes to relax and treat yourself :D :D . You sound like you are doing a fantastic it must be so difficult having 2 WELL DONE I am going to log on to photo bucket when i have finished here to see them both.
Nicola good to hear from you. Sorry to hear you have been having a hard time lately but not long and we will all have our little ones, and by the sounds of it that is when the fun really starts.
Angellica how are you doing. Hope all is well with you and Roman. Have you managed to cut down on your hours in the shop yet it must be really difficult when its your own business. Hope to hear from you soon.
Jeck hope you had a good time visiting Jaden. Any news yet of when you can bring him home? I think of you often.
To the new mummies you all sound like you are doing a great job. I will taking hints and tips from you all about the BF soon i am sure.
As for me i am doing fine. It is so hot here now and i can only manage to do my jobs in the morning and by the afternoon i sit in front of the fan. Since i have moved bedrooms i seem to be having to pee every 2-3 hours at night, which is a real pain because i have a step flight of stairs to go down and because we don't have electric on that floor i am using a torch. (loads of fun). I have persuaded DP to take the afternoon of building today(he is desperate to build us a room downstairs before little one arrives) and we are going to spend the afternoon at our friends pool with there 3 crazy children who are now on holidays for 12 weeks.
I still think that Bella is not in the right position yet but i guess she has another week to go. She is moving around like crazy though so i guess she still has a bit of space to move. I have an appointment with doc next week and will have scan so hopefully i will find out more then.
Take care all Ellie x

Ellie---HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! To be honest, I almost forgot it was MY birthday too! I hope you enjoy your day. The pool sounds wonderful! About your constant peeing at night....while it is a pain now, I really think that is the BEST training for the nighttime feedings. My DH and mother are beat from the lack of sleep. While I AM tired, I'm not feeling it as badly as they are. So, when you're climbing those stairs at night, just consider it your "trainin session!"

nictor--Welcome back! Be careful with your BP. That's why I delivered early. I ended up developing pre-eclampsia (very quicikly, by the way...). Lie on your left side a lot to keep the BP down. You want baby to cook a little longer, right? Oh, and remember how I used to have horrible heartburn? Well, NO MORE, thank GOD!! Delivering the babies seemed to cure that ailment. So relief is just around the corner for you...

Tasha--Good luck with the weaning...I'm curious to see what Pam says. I think Braeden is a dead-ringer for DH, while Ellie looks like me. (I can say that knowing what our own baby pictures look like...really, they are carbon copies of us! :) )

As for me, I'm okay. The BFing is definitely getting better, and I seem to be adapting to a life of being milked! DH got me a gorgeous glider for my birtdhay, so I can't wait for him to put it togehter, so I can use it tonight! My back has been killing me from sitting in an old, icky rocker! On a side note, I do tend to cry a lot these days. I don't think it's Post Pardem Depression or anything, but every few hours or so, I tend to cry, and then pick myself up. Should I be worried, or is this normal? I know a lot of it has to be hormones, right? Thanks for any input!

Have a great weekend gals! My mom is taking off today and MIL will be here for a few days....I'm so curious to see how that goes!
