Hey Girls!

Erica~ I wish I could tell you that the worry stops, but I don't think it does until we are holding our babies. And even then there is a whole new set of worries!! Your beta numbers looked great. Try to just enjoy it! I have seen lots of ladies call their clinics and get extra blood tests though. We were lucky in ours. We got to go every Tues. and Thursday for bloods and ultrasounds until they saw a heartbeat. Now it is once a week, until they turn me over to my regular ob/gyn. Sorry you are a nervous wreck, try to stay calm!

So, I went to my u/s and bloodwork this morning. Saw the heartbeat again, and they said the bloodwork looked great. I got to make an appt. with my ob/gyn today. That was exciting! I go July 10th! I can't wait.

Hope everyone else is doing well today!
Jenn

Erica,

I understand EXACTLY what you are going through. I am also 5w4d along as you are. We must have had our retrieval done on the same day! I am going out of my mind wondering what my Beta number is each day. I am also driving myself nuts analyzing everything that I am feeling physically...What is that twinge? What is that cramp? Why don't I feel any morning sickness? (Do you also constantly check for spotting each time you go to the bathroom? I do!)

I was happy with my 2nd Beta numbers too, however I have this overwhelming need to know on a daily basis that everything is going as it should. Luckily my doctor's office is doing our u/s this Friday (June 29). But it still isn't soon enough for me! I am a little jealous when I read posts of those that go in every 48 hours to have their numbers read...

Do you think that we are hyper-sensitive because of everything we have gone through just to get where we are (BFP); or do you think that this type of behavior is indicative of becoming "ONE OF THOSE MOMS" who is neurotic about every little sneeze and sniffle her new baby will have????

Jenn- congrats on your second successfull U/S. that's awesome , and thanks for the encouraging words.

kathy-haha, i do have to fight the urge to check for spotting constantly. thankfully(?) i have had an increased need to urinate so i have an excuse. i think that because it is such a struggle to conceive that it's hard to grasp that things may finally be ok. i am going to use that to excuse neurotic behavior. people comment on how layed back i am generally. i hope those days arent gone for good. :)

i ended up going in for an extra blood test today on my lunch hour (i have a very understanding dr), so i'll get the results tomorrow.

Sweety - This is my second pregnancy and I am less sick so far this time, but I think it is fair to complain. I know how it feels that you have exactly what you want (a pregnancy) so you feel like you should be happy all the time, but it is OK to complain. If you are really vomiting alot my doctor gave me Zofran for my first pregnancy. I only had one really bad week where I took it a few times, but it made life bearable when I really needed it. How far along are you? It usually resolves by week 12 or 13. That time I wasn't going to tell anyone at work until 12 weeks but they kept trying to get me to leave work and see the doctor because they thought I was going to spread some aweful flu that I couldn't get rid of, so at 9 weeks or so I ended up telling people (several had guessed anyway).

Anyway, good luck!

I was very happy to have a 2nd ultrasound this week. (Now 7w6d) It always makes me feel better to see the heartbeat and know things are going well so far.

hai wanttodiscuss thankyou for your reply. It made me feel less guilty. I have also been given a tablet but still the very sight of food makes me sick especially in the morning and worse in the evening. I have quit my job and my husband comes back only after 8 pm. I feel very miserable at evening. Parents living far away and they cannot come here. Everyone keeps telling me it will be over by the end of third month and i am just waiting for completion of third month. going for my scan tommorow and will keep you posted.

Sweety -
I don't know how much you are vomitting or if you feel like it alot but aren't actually doing it much. (Which for me seemed as bad as at least I felt a little relief when I did vomit.) Anyway what I wanted to say was that if you are vomitting constantly you need to be careful and watch for dehydration. There is actually a very severe form of morning sickness that I saw on the news recently but I'm sure your doctor would watch for that. (The one on the news was really bad and rare - constant vomitting, dehydration, basically starving and hallucinating.)

Not trying to be negative, but something that people should be aware of if it is really, really bad.

Erica- so glad your beta came back looking wonderful! I'm sure that put your mind at ease until your u/s. Good luck!

On m/s~ I had a couple of realy bad nauseous days and now I'm ok. Is this normal? Everytime I get a symptom and then it disappears I get nervous. I don't think I will ever be at ease unless I'm in front of the u/s machine looking at a live pic. of the baby! gonna be a long 7 1/2 months if that is the case!

sweety- hope your scan goes well tomorrow. Let us know!
Jenn

I have been terribly sick this past week. It's not when I first gets up but about 9:30 am and it lasts all day. It is like a hungry sick feeling so I eat a little and I am fine for about an hour. I have a 2 year old and a full time job and lying down when I felt too sick to stay up was awful! A coworker asked me if I was taking Materna because they made her really sick. Then I remembered that I started taking them the day before I got really sick so i stopped. It has been 2 days since and I feel as if I am back to the way I was... just a little nauseated. Now I am worried that it could be sign that something is wrong.
I have a drs appt tomorrow and she will be doing an internal ultrasound (can't remember the proper term) so that wll ease my mind.
Anyone else feel really sick while taking Materna?

Anie-
Congrats! I don't know when our next ultrasound will be. I switch to OB/GYN now, but they haven't given me an appointment yet. My OB is on vacation and he is booked solid for like a month, they told me when he comes back he'll pick a time to squeeze me in.
He will get the report from the RE so I don't know if he'll do one or not. I plan to try to do the triple screen thing, and I think that scan in around week 12, so my guess is maybe in a month or so.

I'd like to see things more often, but now that things are established as OK and my ovaries are no longer very enlarged I don't think they will be checking for awhile. (My 1st ultrasound was only done then because of pain I was having from an enlarged ovary and they wanted to make sure it wasn't an ectopic.)

I just got back from my dr.s appt. Had an ultrasound done and saw the heartbeat. There is one baby there. We had 2 transferred. Everything looks good. My dr does ultrasounds at 7 and 9 weeks so I need another one in 2 weeks.. July 11. The next one after that will be Sept 21. It is such a relief to see it!
My dr thinks too that I was so sick last week because of the Materna. Especially when I felt good after giving it up. I am going to try PregVit now. Anyone taking that?
