Ceiba,

Although my ER and ET are a week later than yours....I plan on taking the day off for the ER and then 3-5 days after ET. I have a stressful job as I work in a call center and I want to be a stress-free as possible! :)

Glad to hear you are responding well. I responded well last year when I took the Gonal-F for my IUIs, but never had BFP. I am feeling really good this go round except I am bloated already from the Lupron injections.

Wishing us all BFPs!!!
Talk to you later.

Soooo, how did the egg retrieval go ladies??? im dying to know! it was actually a pretty stressful week camping (strange eh), but i was trying to order my meds and trying to figure all that out was RIDICULOUS bc of our insurance....Fiiiiinnnnaaalllly today our insurance lady and pharmacy called and got it all squared away, however we had to order the Lupron seperate from the rest because obviously i need that on saturday to start.....then the rest is being delivered on thursday of next week-I truley wanted to just scream at the insurance company over the phone and be like "HEEEELLLLOOOOO!!!! DO YOU KNOW WHAT IM GOING THROUGH-GIVE ME THE DRUGS!!!!!" .....

Soooo, now im home, drugs have been ordered, parties all weekend for our friend thats moving away, and it will be good! Thats my rant for my comeback to our page, just wanted all of you to be in on my thoughts!

Hope you're all having a great week-2 more days and im joining all of you addicts! : )

They will cal on Saturday to tell us how the embies look and if we will do a 3 or 5 day transfer. The procedure was really smooth I don't even remember them doing the ET (can't say that makes me sad) man those are some mean drugs! I am recouping well I think I will wrk tomorrow they said I would be fine just to take it easy. I also did my first PIO shot tonight it went really well lots of worry for nothing. well its about time for me to head back to the bed I am glad to hear everyone is making progress, I send a big WELCOME the new gals.

I am so glad to hear the PIO shots was more worry than bite. My DH and I attended the injection class on Tuesday and I am waiting for AF. My last BCP was Tuesday - how long does it normally take after you stop BCP's? I can't wait - I am so excited to begin.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Congrats on the 9 eggs, Ali! I hope you have a good fertilization report Saturday. I had my first visit today and I have 12 follies on the Right and 10 on the Left. I was shocked to have so many without even stimming. I just got the call on how many units of Gonal-f to take....300 (that's 4 vials) tonight, Saturday and Sunday. I hope these don't sting cause it's going to be thick and I stay on the Lupron too. Well, I am off to my mom's to get my shots but wanted to check in. Talk to you all later.

Oh, snowseven, AF came 5 days after my last BCP.

Hope eveyone is well!

1st IVF in August - Any cycle buddies?

Hi, ladies,
Had my retrieval yesterday. Everything went fine. The DR retrieved 29 eggs (I respond like people who have PCOS so make lots of little follicles). I was a little sore last night but am doing fine now.
Nurse called this morning - of the 29 eggs 18 of them were mature. We have ICSI done so of the 18 mature eggs 12 fertilized and 5 more look like they might. They will call me tomorrow to let me know what stage they are at.

Alianna09 - how are you feeling today?

2 week wait anxiety!

Post by RMSM »

Hi everyone! I'm new to this wonderful website and hope to join in the support network here. I am currently in the midst of that long 2 week wait after doing my second IVF. With a long history of endo., I was never a candidate for IUI because of tube blockage and 2 prior surgeries that left a ton of scar tissue (so I've been told) and jumped right in to IVF about a year and a half ago. This time around, they removed 11 eggs, of which 8 fertilized. They implanted 5 embyros 5 days ago, 2 of which were 8 celled and looked very good. I'm 34, DH is 35. Trying to stay positive, but going through peaks of hope and peaks of doubt regularly. I would love some kind of reassuring sign that it worked, but so far just some minor cramping since the day of transfer. I don't know how to lay low and not stress my body out, but not think about this at the same time. So I'm hoping this board can keep me positive because I need that desperately right now. These are the longest 2 weeks of my life!!!

Welcome RMSM. You and your DH are the same ages as my DH and I. I have endo cysts in my ovaries which aren't our big problem. My DH had a vasectomy at the age of 21 and had it reversed 3 years ago. They also told us that we have no chance other than IVF w/ICSI to conceive. My AF arrived yesterday - went in for an u/s and bw today and should start my meds this evening. I am so excited and scared - its an emotional rollercoaster. My DH is have anxiety attacks about giving me shots. We went through the injection class on Tuesday - we are "lucky" enough to get the 1 1/2 inch needs that must be entered completely into your bum everyday.

Any suggestions on making this easier for him would be helpful - I am more excited than scared - I just can't wait for the 2ww!

Hello all and welcome RMSM, you will find a ton of support and info on this board.
I just got a call from the embryologist of our 9 eggs, 7 were mature, 5 fetilized, and 2 are looking better than the rest so they are going to do a day 3 transfer, we go in tomorrow morning at 8:15. I am very excited yet so scared they won't take we've come so far but I have to stay positive. I think the worst part will be the bed rest they are telling me it will be 3 to 5 days down time I will go CRAZY. Anyway PIO shots still going really really well ladies there are no worries it is quick and really not painful I was so excited about that especially since I will be doing them for 10 weeks! Well I probably won't be able to check in for the next week my husband is a nazi and won't be letting me out of bed for the full five days and since I don't have a laptop chances of me getting to the computer are slim. So everyone take care, and keep up the good work with the shots!

aliann, congrats on your 2 good embryos and all the very, very best for transfer and implantation!! Five days bed rest sounds like torture, with nothing to do but think about those embryos inside of you. Hope you have a good book! I asked my RE about taking time off after the ER and/or the ET, and he said it's really up to me as to what will make me feel best. He said there was a study in which they had the patients do jumping jacks 10 minutes after the transfer, and the pregnancy rates were exactly the same as those who did bed rest. So he said that whatever will make me feel less stressed and most positive is fine- whether that's laying in bed for days or going to work and keeping my mind off of those embryos. And thanks for the report on the PIO shots- I am not looking forward to those but now I'm less scared!

And congrats to you too, nannybear- 29 eggs- wow! How many embryos do you have? Keep us updated!

And welcome RMSM! Congrats on your ET and I hope those little guys stick!

Jill and meggs and snowseven, I'm glad to hear you're all getting started too. Don't worry about the shots. The anticipation really is much worse than the reality. And it's so exciting to see the results every morning on that u/s sreen!

Now for my news- we heard this afternoon that we're ready for the trigger shot tonight- yay! So our ER will be at 9:15 AM Monday morning. I can't wait to see how many embryos we get. It's so incredible to think that our baby might be conceived two days from now!!

1st IVF in August - Any cycle buddies?

Post by nannybear »

Hi ladies,
I had my embryo transfer today at 12:00. They transferred six really good embryos (5 @ 8 cells and 1 @ 5 cells) It doesn't look like we'll have any frosties though, which I eally didn't expect. I had six transferred the last time and got pregnant with one so that is what we are hoping for. So now I am officially on the dreaded 2WW!!!!!!!!!!!! This cycle has seemed to go by really fast but the next 12 days won't I'm sure.
Talk to you all later.
