Post by js200632 »

welsch...belated happy birthday....how did u celebrate..or did i miss one of ur posts?

aunty....i m sorry to hear that u were feeling low the other day....u have always been there for everyone...i remember even on the other forum.....great support...i wish i could say something to help u feel better

shantala...looks like things are going great....8 cell wow...is it a 2 or 3 day transfer? and did they transfer just two because of some law there or was it your choice...do they let u choose there? coz here my RE was the one who suggested 3 i guess because of the quality and he sounded like he was ready to agree for a fourth one too...provided it was our decision...

carolyn...u are never insensitive or nasty dear...that is the most reasonable thing to believe in the end...probably...if all goes well in the end i'll think it was god's way of saving me and my other two from tons of complications that we could face with three...sometimes we even used to think abt reduction ...but then i got scared that i mught get punished for doing this to a baby....so perhaps...god just saved me from guilt....eitherway...

lara...thanx for the hugs sweety

gill...yea it was sad....but now i have recovered and just holding on to the other two and prayig for them to make it....

jen babes...thank u for those wishes ..it does look like ages....but i have another appointment on 20th....and if i see them and they r alright...then it'll be easier to pass one or two more weeks...till then...just waiting

looks like i m not gonna leave this forum...hehe

Shantala - AWESOME. Well done youngster. So sweet that dh's daughter went with you and is so supportive and involved. That is very touching. Fab that you had 2 8 cells back and also all the frosties. Sound like you had an amazing bunch this time. You are now called the PUPO Princess!!!! 8) Sending you loads of sticky vibes and baby dust. Look after yourself. So hope that this is your time. You are so young and brave to have to endure all this stuff babe

Becky - I am sorry that AF is playing up. She is     . Try not to worry about yout dates. Sure that it will be ok with the wedding in the end. Fingers crossed. Try not to worry too much

JB - So sorry that you & dh have been sick. Hope that you are starting to feel better. Don't worry about your roots, worry about getting better babe. So pleased that you found someone here to do acu for you. Interested to hear when they will see you in cycle. Sure my guy will see me once before AF to try to 'clean me up' and then may be once when I am wearing the patches to build the lining up

Jen1d - Hope that headache has cleared now that you are used to the patches and now you can take something. I need to make note of all these things so I don't ask you millions of questions when I cycle!!! Your scan is so soon. You must be getting excited now. Cannot believe that you will be PUPO in 10 days. WOW

Rachel - looked at your ticker this morning and realised that you have lost about 1/2 the total weight. That is really amazing. You have done so well. You'll be on the downhill slope. Have you lost 2 dress sizes yet???

Angel - sorry that you are having a hard time. I totally understand what you mean. London is full of pregnant people. Or do we just spot them in the crowd!? I want to go up to them all and poke their eyes out but it is not there fault   and now I try to say to myself that you never know what journey they have had to endure to get there. Glad that IM came back to you so quickly. It is expensive but then I figure that is because it is an excellent clinic with a high success rate and lots of donors and short wait lists. I am not sure about the other clinic that you mention. I know some of the girls talk about a clinic in Kiev (think Big J went there and got a BFP - on the over 40s thread - I think) which is a lot less expensive than Spain. May be worth a look. As Jen1d said she can help with questions as can JB and Gill who are both going there too. I will help more when I have visited! We are planning on 2 visits. 1st trip we go out Tuesday and back Wednesday. Booked the flights on some air miles that I have. Hotel is about £100 for the night. Then we are thinking that next trip will likely be November. We may turn into a 'mini' break as we have had no holiday this year. But my understanding is that they recommend 24 hors rest post ET. Hope that focusing on your next steps helps

Gill - how are you doing? You are getting really close now. Have IM been in touch?

Aunty - is it still 90 degress in your neck of the woods. That is so hot. Must get a little wearing for you. What are you doing next with the house. I want to get hall way and spare room decorated in the Autumn at oiur place

JS - glad that I did not say anything out of order. I just want to focus on the fab twins that are growing inside you. Long wait for your next scan but it must mean that they feel that everything is going well or else they would have you back

Jackie - have you gone to Mauritius already? So jealous. Sure that it will be amazing

Hugs to everyone else. Hope that you are all having a nice weekend.

Opera was good - but long. Lovely sunny day. So English to sit out in the field/gardens with the men in black tie and the ladies in evening dress having a picnic. People who took us - lovely and very very posh - had their housekeeper (get that) arrange the picnic. Was awesome - so much lovely food - salmon, prawns, cheesecakes. So opera was in 3 parts with hour intervals to eat the food. We just took the booze. Did sucumb to 1 glass of fizzy pink champagne. Only the 3rd time that I have succumbed in 15 months so think that it is allowed. Opera is probably not our favorite passtime (especially my dh) but it was a wonderful experience and certainly beats working!!!! Plus 1 day closer to Barcelona. 4 hours of singing gave me lots of time to think too.

Anyway, back to reality today and need to clear out study so need to get off here and get on.

Lots of Love
Carolyn

 Hi bunnies

Shantala - Brilliant news about your 2 bundles of joy snuggling in with Mum and frosties (but you wont need them). Well done girls, now relax and we will help keep your mind occupied on the 2ww

Carolyn - Oh you are so posh, i knew it from day one, Little Miss Blackberry  Glad you had fun, i liked the sound of the salmon and prawn bit----yummy. I had a twinge of excitement as i lay awake at 2am this morning but that soon went out of my head when i though about taking the dreaded test :x The last time it was great not to bleed and make it to the test date but dh and i were then terrified of doing the test. Within a couple of minutes we were taken from excitement that "what if its bfp" to hell. I am full of mixed emotions at the moment, i keep thinking that i've put on weight and that wont help, has stuck before, so why now then i get a rush of positive feelings because we have a much better chance and higher % rate because of ed. Go i defo need a shrink
Oh ye, do you think accu will help even though i i'm not having it here and will only be having it before and after ET----know what your going to say but your the expert in this field

JenB - Yep think i defo need to visit---shrink needed urgently for mad hormonal ivf woman  Hope your feeling better babe, its crap feeling sick eh. Dont worry about the hair, in this crap weather no one will notice.((Hugs)).

Gill - Speak to us, we miss you. How your feeling a bit better, you know where we are if you need a chat or a vent. Hope your enjoying the sun 8)

Aunty - How you setling in, doyou love your house? When we moved nearly a year ago it felt just right, like we had been here forever.

Jackie - Mauritius :x I'm definately NOT jealous----promise

Rachel - What you been up to? Can you lose some weight for me. I lost nearly 4 stone a couple of years ago and have now put on about 2 will all this medi etc, and i feel so yuck----its hard eh

Angel - I cant deal with bumps but people telling me they are pregnant just knocks the feet from under me and set me off into a day of crying, depression and feeling sorry for me and dh. Completely understand.
As Carolyn said fire away, we can help with anything you want to know about IM.

hi to everyone else

So my headache finally went about 8-9pm last night---boy was it bad, hope you dont get one like that. Today i feel fine so IM must have been correct when they said my body would get use to the patches fast. Anna told me yesterday that after you start the patches its normally about 10 days later that ET happens so this might mean we will be flying off around the 20th?? Seem so close and i'm dreading the 2ww but i have decided to stay off for the first week then go back for the second and just be very careful. It will be hard this time as nobody knows we are doing this cycle so i will have to avoid any kick offs with the yp and try to encourage the other staff to deal with it----bet someone notices

Ok, must dash as i have to go into work soon but hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Love Jen x

Morning ladies. Well, its nearly mid-day but stayed at my mums last night and have just been lazing about! Hehe!

Firstly, ems and fed – you are such sweeties for popping in for us! Thanks! And blimey, you’re both 30 weeks already! That’s mad! Bet it didn’t fly for you two though! Lol. Ah, its so nice to see your tickers. Lets hope I join you on the other side soon! Hope you’re both well! (ems – yes, had ET yesterday hun! 2 popped back and 7 frosties this time! Woohoo!)

Gill, jen1d, JB, welshy, carolyn, angel, lara, js – thank you so much for popping in to say good luck! Aahh, you ladies are unbelievable support!

Becky – ah hun, I was so hoping and praying for you that AF would show in time for you. What a *****! She can go and join my neighbour! Lol. No, seriously, not impressed. It’s a real bummer…..does that mean you will start next month now?

Carolyn – hey hun, glad you had a good time at the opera. Wow, hour breaks! And the picnic sounds lovely. Thanks for cheering me on. Don’t get me wrong about my dh…he nearly didn’t go coz he felt so guilty about missing ET. But I told him its not like its our first time and we do this every year so if I couldn’t go I didn’t want him to miss it too! Plus status quo were headlining this year (it’s the motorbike rally’s 21st birthday) (not my music at all) and he was desperate to see them. It’s lovely to have had my dh’s daughter’s support too. Thanks for wishing for some snowbabies for me….your wish must have worked! Thanks hun!

Jen1d – Fantastic news that you did the patch thing right. Oohhh, wow, 15th, that’s not far away at all!!! Ooohhhhhh, how exciting!!!

JB – glad to hear you’re feeling better! Ah bless you. I hate being ill. But sorry to hear you couldn’t go away. Where were you meant to go? Its definitely best you rest up though! Also great that AF has been sorted. What a relief!

Angel – aawww hun, I’m so sorry you’re feeling so in the dumps! We all understand so much what its like to see those mothers pushing their prams in the sunshine and the hurt you go through. We’re all here for you! Hugs!!!!!

Aunty – certainly “picked up the kids” alright! Lol! Aaahhh, thanks so much for thinking of both of my lil ones! ;-) how’s you?

Js – it was a 3 day transfer thanks. My clinic does a 2 day if you have 3 embies or less or a 3 day if you have 4 or more. About your question – in the UK the laws say that a woman under 40 is only allowed a maximum of 2 put back in. a woman over 40 can have 3. However, there has been talk for a little while now about reducing the amount of embies to be put back to 1 to reduce multiples. A disgrace I say. I think it should be down to the parents-to-be at the consultation with the doctor to decide. Great that you’re not leaving us by the way! Its great to have you hear! How you feeling?

JB, welshy, aunty, lara – thank you so much for your sparkling encouragement. It was so lovely to see all those congrats pics yesterday eve! Aawww, you guys are so great!

As for me – sorry about yesterday’s quick posts. I was soooo tired. I think the relief just hit me when I got home! Anyway, went to the clinic (nearly was late coz of traffic but got there 5 minutes before, phew!). got called straight through, dh’s daughter came in with me. Nurse and embiesitter (embryologist) came into the room and embiesitter said “well, we’ve got 2 lovely 8 cell embies to put back today.” Great, I said. Oh, and dh and I had only sat down the night before to decide what we’re going to do if we only get 1 or 2 to freeze. We decided to freeze if we have 2 or more. She then went on to say “well, good news, that we have….” And I thought ‘fantastic news, we have a couple to freeze!’. “….7 out of the remaining 8 for the freezer”. “7!!!!!!!” both my dh’s daughter and I asked. Both of our eyes went wide and our mouths dropped! The minute it sank in I just started crying. Dh’s daughter cried with me so the nurse and the embiesitter left us to gather ourselves. How silly of us. But then it was such a relief to have that as backup. Aaahhh, sooooo pleased!! I honestly did not expect any (as we had none last time) and was hoping and praying for 2 at the most. Maybe 3! Anyway, very pleased…..now the 2ww begins! Woohoo!!!

Hi to everyone else!!!! Lots of sticky baby dust to all!!

jen1d - we must have posted at the same time! so glad your headache is better. sounds like you might have had a migraine by the sounds of it. ouch! wow, ET might be so close then! how exciting!! ooohhh, cant wait! i'm the same as you...got the first week off work (although might go back to work towards the end of that first week) and then going back the second week and taking it easy. nobody knows either this time except very close friends and family so its very difficult! completely understand where you're coming from!

So good that your are home, happy and resting.
Its so weird how sometimes we get frosties and other times, zilch. I wonder why that is eh. I've never had any but we're praying our lovely lady in Big B will get us a couple more for storage

yes, it is strange, isnt it? there must be a reason for it, which i'm sure they'll know in a few years time (hopefully) but for now i think its just luck of the draw!!! or it may be in any case. i'm wondering whether i had some this time coz the embies are healthier. last time dh's only had one swimming sperm whereas this time he had loads so maybe the embies were healthier this time?? who knows, eh?! it probably has nothing at all to do with that!

praying for some snowbabies for you from your D.

Awaiting Treatment

Post by nannybear »

Hi ladies,
Sorry that I have not been here in awhile, I was on another thread trying to help some new ladies out that are in about the same stage as I am at,
Well I had my retrieval on Thursday 8/9. They retrieved 29 eggs (I respond like PCOS patients so make lots of follicles) Out of 29 eggs, 18 of them were mature. We have ICSI done so out of the 18 , 12 had fertilized as of yesterday and they said looked like maybe five more might.
Right now I am waiting for my clinic to call me and tell me what they look like today. I will either have transfer tomorrow or on Tuesday, so am waiting to see. I have never had any frosties so am hoping this time.
Let you all know when I hear from the nurse.
