Hi all I don't have symptoms really other than I felt like I was going to have period the day before my blood test this week. I've had a few mild cramps on and off and boobies are a bit tender.

I'm really paranoid now about only having the one blood test and now not knowing if things are progressing or not :? I'm going to press them for another test tomorrow morning when I go to pick up some more progesterone gel.

Sorry to hear about your car accident! Be careful there are little ones to think about!!!

Speak to you all soon,

Hayley xx

Vlada, I call it 'hormone brain'  If I did not write down, with a check box next to each item, the meds I take daily (then check off) I would never have gotten this far...way too forgetful!

I don't have many symptoms except I sleep HARD at night...if I take s nap in the day (I try not to, but I really need one on some days), I find I'm out really hard as well...sigh. I am so behind on my work! :?
That said, I feel lucky, so far, not to be ill...but that could change, as I'm officially 6 weeks preggers today, which is 4 gestational...and I've heard it starts around now...ugh.

I picked up "what to eat when you're expecting" as well as the "what to expect" ... and am adding more power foods to my diet...I eat fairly well as it is, but I don't feel I'm eating often ENOUGh...yikes. didn't think I'd ever say that!

GOOD LUCK

Hi Girls,

I went and picked up my next batch of progesterone gel from the clinic this morning, and I asked them about the lack of follow up blood tests, expressing a concern about ectopic. They said they don't do frequent blood tests because of all of the anxiety of waiting for the results each time. They just recommended taking it easy and waiting for the 35 day early scan.

The nurse said bottom line is that if it's meant to stick it will! She said monitoring would be unlikely to show an ectopic as the HCG would still rise (now I think back this was the case last year when I was pregnant with an ectopic). They said they would do further tests if I really wanted them. But the day we tested was a nightmare waiting for the phone call, I wouldn't fancy that every few days waiting for HCG results!!!

I've got the next 2 weeks off work (me and the DH had planned to go on holiday if the IVF didn't work) so I'm just going to take it easy next week. He wants to wrap me up in cotton wool bless him :)

Hmmm very embarassing question now.... what are you girls doing about sex?? We've not done much for ages now, and the clinic advised me to not only avoid intercourse, but also to avoid orgasms! I must admit I was feeling very horny the other night and I errrr....let him have a bit of oral. I couldn't resist and had an orgasm    Has anyone else been told to avoid them? I don't want to do anything that might be risky!

Take care,

Hayley x

hi everyone,

so happy that we all feel the same, was worried that my emby/ies had gone away - the waiting is unbearble!!

Hayley - even though I am as anxious as you the nurse is right, we'll all only know for sure when we have the ultrasound. If I had my way I would have a blood test every day!! It's mad that when we start this crazy route of IVF we are petrified of needles and now we can't get enough!! can I ask you what you do with the Progesterone gel? sorry if the answer to that is kind of obvious but I'm on 2ml injections every night and vaginal caps - it's all a bit messy and means that everything centres around the injections making life a bit restrictive. As for sex, I'd kind of forgotten what all that is like!! it has been so mechanical over the last year that we need to get the bells and whistles back. My doctor hasn't said anything other than no sex during the 2WW but in all honesty I haven't asked him nor do I feel like it!! My DH is so scared to even hug me at the moment that I think the thought would scare him.... be very interested to see what the other girls think. I doubt a big O will do anything other than put a smile on your face :)

Woodcliff, congratulations on being 6 weeks pregges!!! yeahh!! have you told anyone yet? We've told immediate family only - I'm actually enjoying having a big secret but I'm also gagging to let it out!! I've just boughth the "what to expect when expecting" book and can't put it down - is it worth buying the what to eat book as well??

Vlada, thanks my dear - it's good to be back with you on a site where we can worry about being pregnant instead of getting there!! V happy to hear that your tests results were good. What was your beta?? also what progesterone are you on - injections??

Aliann09 - I've read about the watery mouth - that's a good sign!

On my side my boobs are still tender and i have mild tummy ache every now and again but other than that I feel ok. I have to go to a baby shower today (american thing i still don't fully understand) and so for the first time I can try and hide a grin rather than tears :)

Love to you all and have a nice weekend

Rebecca

PS. does any one know whether Progesterone and estrogen (I'm on both) would actually prevent AF arriving? or would it come ion it's own if the embies had gone away... sorry to ask - paranoid!!! XXX

Hey guys,
Hayley,
My clininc said the same thing no sex during 2WW but i am chosing not to do it untill my first US and then i will ask the doctor if it is OK. And i think as long as an orgazm is not too intense, you will be just fine, i am having mine in my dreams from time to time, i guess i don't need a man after all
Rebecca, you are paranoyed :D , you will be just fine, your baby(s) are just fine, i know it is hard for us IVFers not to worry because we came a long way to get pregnant but please, try to relax, they are part of you now and it is sooo exciting!!!! i am very happy for you!!! :D
My beta yesterday was 3700, which is a little more than double from Wednesday , my estrogen was about 440 or 450 and my progesterone was 37,8. So, judging by the numbers evrything is good so far ( i am keeping my fingers crossed) and looks like i am having just one baby but we will see next Wednesday , you never know... i did FET and we put in 4 embies.
Good luck ladies!!!!!

OMG!!!! Rebecca!!!! I was thinking the same thing about the prog and estro stopping bleeding no matter what was going on. I think that if the body had to expel something there would at least be a sign like spotting all day for days etc... So DON'T GET PARANOID!!!! You are just fine!!!

BTW - I had the big "O" in my dreams two nights in a row last week. I think its all the hormones that causes them. Both nights I awoke with cramps. I was a little scared but nothing happened really and since orgasms bring blood to the uterus I thought it was OK really. (See you can shed a silver lining on anything in life... it's PMA we need here :D )

Vlada:
Were you holding out on us girl??!?!?! 3,700?!?!?! Wow - you go girl!!! You could still be in the running for twins though... LisaPa had the same numbers and she has twins in there  My doctor stopped doing Betas after my third one which was 4636. That was 14dp5dt and now it is 19dp5dt and I am suddenly feeling the fatigue just today. I am going to take a nap. And besides sore/larger bbs I have a little extra sensitivity to smells and some food aversion but its not glaring. I am also not too hungry much of the time...

Advice:

If you are constipated the best way to remedy that is with 100% pure prune juice BUT be careful hwo much you drink. I think 6oz is good. I did 10 or 12oz this morning and I have run to the lu 4 times in a row in half an hour. My gut is churning and grumbling too. So watch out girls... It feels good not to be constipated but the runs isn't fun esp when you want to take a nap...

Love you all,

Hayley, you crack me up...(you too, Cocoa!)...hey, like the nurse said, if it's going to stick, it'll stick! I think it takes more than a Big O to push the embies out...

That said, we were told NO SEX until after the 6 week ultrasound. If it's twins??? apparently with multiples, according to our IVF place, you stop sex in the second trimester.

harrumph. THAT is something I'll bring up with my OB when I go for my 1st appt.

Rebecca...my one sister is the ONLY one who knows...I don't want to tell anyone until at least 12, and hopefully 14 or 16 weeks, if my belly does not give me away. I want to make sure the embies are healthy, and I'll go over the possibility of having the CVS and Nucal Fold and Amnio -- or one of those, with my doc. If it's twins, I'd prefer NOT to have an invasive test...but if they don't look healthy I need to know what I'm dealing with!

I also know EVERYTHING will change once people know...and it'll be ALL ABOUT being pregnant...at this stage, it's easy to pretend nothing has changed :?

RIGGGHHHHT

I also wondered that about whether or not I'd bleed taking all the drugs I'm on...geesh.

Vlada, as Cocoa said...hee hee...not out of the woods yet on twins. SO HAPPY your levels are strong.

My 3rd HCG was done 20 days, post transfer Counting the ET day, and it was 16,244. My clinic is great and they'll do what I ask them to do, which is simply check off the HCG along with the Estradiol and Progesterone when I get blood work.

More BW on Tues PLUS the u/s. I'll feel better after that.
NO SYMPTOMS other than fatigue...

Rebecca:

I picked up both "expect" books, and have focused more on the 'diet' book...the best piece of information I gleaned is that the body feeds the mom first, the kids get the leftovers...so eating often, and well, is crucial.
ie: If a woman's the type to go many hours with no food, the embies suffer...

I guess that's pretty obvious, but it put things in perspective for me.

I do eat a healthy diet...so I'm not too concerned. I didn't find anything groundbreaking in it, if you alrelady know a lot about nutrition, etc, the book might not add much. Plus, the other "expecting" book has a section on eating as well...from what I see.

Bottom line: You eat Junk ??? The baby eats junk food. You eat well? The baby forms better. I think if any woman knows that she doesn't need the book (but do read sections on what not to eat).

One thing that bugged me is that the author kind of 'dismisses' "lesser" fruit...she includes apples and bananas in that category...now, apples have pectin and bananas are a great source of potasium and energy, so I doubt her 'science' orientation with that observation! Also, I didn't see blueberries on her list of super fruit, and blueberries are really good for the brain!

In other words, some stuff is good, some so-so, most you already know...but hey, there's a recipe section! I'm a SUCKEr for recipes as I LOVE to cook.

Hello,
Cocoa and Woodcliff, i saw Lisa's HCG numbers, but hers were still higher than mine because her clinic measered her first levels after a week i think, and mine were similar but a couple or more days later, but i guess my US will clear everything out for me ( i hope so), my friend did IFV ICSI and the second baby didn't show up on US untill 10 days later!!!!!!

Hi there gals!

Rebecca - I'm on progesterone gel which is administered in the vagina. It comes with each dose in a little tube, you just break the top off and squirt it all in  I then have to walk around for 10 mins to spread it around. I thought it would be all messy and leak out but it doesn't at all really. I have been told by the clinic that I will be on this for 3 months if all is OK at the US.

Oh and I had to tell you all I did a pee test this morning! I had a couple in the bathroom cabinet so I thought why not. It was great seeing that think blue "positive" line appear within about 10 seconds!!!!

Also my boobies are really sore today and I feel a bit sicky. Actually I feel like total crap. But it's nice to feel some symptoms, it makes it all a bit more real!

I went to a party with my DH last night as he's a singer and his band were playing. One of the rather drunk guys there dragged me onto the dance floor and wouldn't take no for an answer. He nearly made me fall over at which point my horrified DH stopped singing and looked like he was going to murder the guy. I took the opportunity to slip out to the ladies and that was the end of that!!!

Anyway speak to you all soon!!!
