Hi Ladies,

Dexter - YAHOOO....18 fertilized embies....that's awesome. So proud of you and DH. Rest up and get tons of fluid. You are in my prayers. Sending tons of baby dust your way! :D :D

Lala - you poor baby. You did great for just posting. I remember being very sore after day 13 of stimming and I was way bloated. I had a lot of pain in my tummy, my upper legs, and my back. I harassed the heck out of my nurses and they said all was okay. Give them a call if you feel too bad. That's what they are there for anyway. I think I felt better just knowing that this was normal, KWIM? Have DH do all your bidding today and rest up :) !

Wishful - Glad that you are back. Sorry you are feeling bloated but sounds like progress and normal. I'm feeling extra anxious too this cycle...I really want to get things moving.

Christin - Sounds like you are trucking along very nicely. Shame on that freakin' tech though. I know sometimes the follies end up behind each other but sometimes those techs are in a rush. Glad you got the right numbers. Keep us posted.

Sonu - Sooo happy that DH will be there with you! It does seem like we should have an undergraduate degree in infertility and IVF, right? My RE is very supportive so I've asked tons of questions...some pretty good and others that makes her laugh. But I firmly believe that the doctors are our valued advisors but at the end of the day, WE have and make the final decisions. So, good for you...take a pad and pen with all your questions.

Julieboo - My RE recommends yoga and accu....she thinks anything that helps with the stress our bodies go through during IVF is fine and extremely beneficial. I plan to do something...because I beginning to feel a little worn.

As for me, I think my PMA meter did go down a notch. I mean stupid AF is always screwing around. But you ladies brought me back up two notches! :D ....thanks ladies!!! In the grand scheme of things, a week is not going to send me in total menopause age , right  ? So, like Julieboo, I'm looking into take the edge off. So, off to researching for the accu and yoga specialists in my area. Have to admit it also gives me time to working off the ice cream that I ate when it was sooooo hot here.

Enjoy your weekend ladies and baby dust to all.

Dexter, dear :D Excellent number again!! Pray for us also...seems god is by your side these days :) I am so proud of u.

Christin - You are so inspiring and surely have tremendous PMA. Keep it up dear!! Great figures for u too, keep them growing!!
Ladies, look what PMA can do to our follies...Dex and Christin are the wonderful examples.
I am also feeling doubly energised...and doing good with my studies. (I started a diploma course in Human Resource management)

Keisha - You are too young for menopause, sweetheart!! We have miles to go before we say goodbye to our dear AF. Good to see you with lots of PMA. Wishing you a good research with yoga and accu!! Do enlighten us as well  , I am interested in yoga...no accu for me, I am having enough needles in this process, don't want more.

Wishfull....Welcome back!! I am sorry that you are feeling bloated. We are almost back to back in our cycle, when is your ER? I have already finished my day 4 shots. How many units of Gonal F for u? Sry for so many question at a time.

Lala - I am feeling sorry for you. I don't know what is going to be my condition on day 13!! Any way take care. Grow follies grow follies!!

Kelly...Must be resting...stick embies stick embies!! You mommy is waiting anxoiusly.
ME - Today the ticker moved two digits up - 824!!
A question for all - In my clinic they usually go for day 2 or 3 transfers. But as in the case of Dex, it will be day 5 transfer.
What difference does it make, and what is most beneficial?

Hi, friends!

I don't know about you all, but the weather here is fantastic -- finally!!! 8)

How is everyone doing today?

Sonu, congrats on your up-tick. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think a day five transfer improves your chances of having one of the embryos stick. Don't know why yet. I'm going to wait 'til I actually have embryos to find out.

Hellokitty, mmm...ice cream. I don't know what could possibly take the edge off better than ice cream.

Dexter, you overachiever! That is fantastic! Brava!

Lala, I hear you about the pain. I'm starting to feel it too. My poor ovaries are stretched to 5 cm. Nice. Take a load off, eat some ice cream, and use your pain to your advantage. "Honey, I can't possibly do the dishes. I've got to lay in bed here so I can make eggs so I can make you an heir."

Wishfull, good to see you! I, too, feel like I've been stimming forever. And it's only been 9 days. Good luck!

Christin, that's a great number! And isn't it great when the nurses throw us a bone once in a while and tell us things are going well?

Update...

I had another scan today. Things are cooking with gas now, apparently. I have 28 measurable follicles ranging from around 11 - 13.5 mm. My E2 level, however, continues to be a little wonky. I shot up from 300 to 1100, which seems like a lot to me. I have to go back in tomorrow, which also makes me nervous.

DH and I have put the kibosh on talking about anything beyond stimming. It seems that whenever we start mentioning ER or beyond that things start getting scary again. So, like Valerie Bertanelli, we're taking it "one day at a time."

All the best (grow follies, fertilize follies, grow embies!)

Hi ladies. Just got back from bloodwork and u/s (day 12) and all is good. I got the "GO" for the trigger shot tonight at 8p.m. So, Tuesday at 7a.m. will be ER. I am so excited!!! Looks like I have 4 that are over 18mm and several that are just shy of 18. I have a total of 19 follies. No wonder I am in so much pain. I was told that my estrogen level climbed up to over 4000!!! I was also told that I may be experiencing hyperstimulation as I have so many follicles maturing. So they ask me to tell them if I feel really really miserable or have difficulty breathing :? I am scared...

Congrats to Dexter!!! That's way cool!

Ladies, sorry still not in good shape to type still. I will try again maybe later today. But know that I am thinking about you all :)

Hello all-

It's funny how when you miss 1 day of reading the posts you feel like you miss so much. It's exciting that so much is happening. Here's an update on me:

I finally got the call from the embryologists today with an update from our embryo’s. They actually found 10 eggs of which 9 have fertilized and all are dividing. So they have scheduled me for 5 day transfer, Wednesday, so they can watch the embryos for a few more days and see if 2 of them excel more than the others. I'm very excited and happy about this news!!!

They told us they would be calling Sunday morning so I of course woke up early waiting for a phone call. We left for church before they called with the news. I brought my cell phone with me and put it on vibrate in my bag just in case they left a message. I was dying to hear how our little embryo’s were doing. 30 minutes into the service I checked my phone call and had a missed call from the clinic but no message. So I talked my husband into letting me go home, check the messages and come back. When I got home the clinic had called but still did not have a message so I called the number back on the caller ID. The "IVF Lab" answered and gave me the update.

Next comes the big hurdle of implanting. I actually wasn't too worried about the fertilizing part as they did a hamster penetration test on my DH sperm and he got 100%. I'm worried about having endometriosis in my uterus and the embryo’s not able to implant because of the endo. But so far everything has gone well so I just need to take it one step at a time. If the embbies keep dividing we will likely have embbies to freeze which takes a lot of pressure off.

Lala- GOOD LUCK with the trigger shot tonight. Hopefully you don't have as much pain from the shot as I did. I know everyone reacts differently but it is all worth it in the end. In fact today I was telling my DH how all the injections are worth it hear that 9 out 10 eggs have fertilized. You have a great follie count!!

Julie- I totally agree with you that we have to take things one day at a time. It sounds like you have an awesome number of follies. Good job!!!

sonu911- I asked about the difference between a 3 and 5 day transfer. Basically they told me if by day 2 they can't tell which embryo’s are their stars then they give it a few more days so they can watch and see which ones divide more and put the best 2 back in.

Dexter- WOW 19 fertilized eggs is awesome! Good luck to you. When is your ET scheduled? It will be fun to hear your news, we are basically on the same schedule.

My DH is hurrying me out the door now so sorry to those of you that I didn't respond to. Good luck to all this week, there are lots of exciting stuff this week.

Hello buddies!!

Just a quick update, I have just come back from my first scan and it seems I am almost following Kelly's precedent...I have in total 10 eggs till now (kelly had 8 eggs in her first scan)....Does the no. increase by the time of retrieval?? I am not worried but just a bit anxious. Well, thats normal I guess!!

Thanks Kelly and Julie for your input, I spoke to my RE regarding this, he says that anyways he is going to tranfer the best three, so it hardly make a difference. The main thing is genetically correct embryo who would be ready to implant in there. Well, I just need one embie to stick or two :P !!

Hi gals,

Just checkin in to see how everyone is getting on. Sounds like very well!! The progress is fabulous! You are in my thoughts every day and sending all my PMA.

Kel, ET is scheduled for 5dt on Thursday but I will know more once the progress reports come in. I didn't hear from the lab today - 2 days after ER. Is this normal? I am worried that it is bad news and I am too scared to call. DH thinks he remembers the lab nurse saying they would call on Tuesday. Last time I didn't make it past 2 day 4 cells. I am getting nervous and edgy and have started the progesterone crinone gel which for me is the worst part :-/

Is it a bad sign that I haven't heard any updates. Maybe they're not growing and they're waiting a day to see if anything changes tomorrow. I'm petrified they will call tomorrow and tell me nothing has divided :?

Oh well I guess I'll find out soon enough..hmmm

Thanks for listening to my paranoia...

sonu911- Congratulations, 10 is a great number. Especially on your first scan. I think sometimes during ER they found eggs that they didn't see on the scans so for sure you might end up with more. They found 10 total during ER and they saw only 8 on the scans. GOOD LUCK, Grow those follies!

Dexter- Don't start to freak out. My clinic doesn't call with an udpate until the third day. I don't think they can tell much before then. So if you had ER on Saturday, I think you should expect a call today with good news. :P Isn't it crazy to think that our little babies are growing right now at the IVF lab? My husband and I joke that are litter is growing up there right now. Hopefully we'll have some to freeze to use for the future, then we'll have our whole family frozen and put in as we're ready

Good luck to everyone, I think about you all the time and can't wait to go check the latest posts with everyone's updates.

Hi Everyone

Wow you all are having amazing follie copunts! This must be because of all the PMA being passed around. I dont go for my scan until Friday which will be day 10 of the menopor I feel really jealous of all you guys knowing that you are definately growing follies. I only had one egg last time so I am really nervous that we are going to have a big disapointment again. I do have some crampy aches in my stomach tho which I didnt have last time (on day 6 now) and feeling a bit tearful and moody so I am hoping that means my ovaries are responding.

Sonu911

Good count so far how many days haveyou been injecting so far?

Kelly

Only 2 more days to go you must be so excited!

Dexter

Good luck for tomorrow, will be thinking of you.

Lala

Hope the trigger shot wasnt too bad and will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Take care and 'talk' to you all tomorrow.

Follie Count

Post by Kelley77 »

Hello Ladies.... I read on here more than I post, however I have been following everyone very closely! Sounds like everyone is moving along fairly well in this long enduring journey. Today I went in for my 2nd US & BW Day 6 of stimming (started with 75 Follistom in the am / 75 Follistom in the pm & 10 units of Lupron in the evening) I only have about maybe 12 follies tops..(didn't keep exact track) more & much larger on the left side (my back hurts TERRIBLY on the left side, although all I did was stand up and pulled it very bad...most likely due to the follies on the left) R side I had about 5 or so measuring between 9-10 however on the left about 6 or 7 mostly measuring around 11-13, so I spoke with the nurse & they are having me go to 50 for the next two shots, then 75 & then another 50...ER most likely on either Sat or Sun, Mon at the latest. So things seem to be moving along alright, but I guess I am nervous that a lot of you ladies seem to have follie counts in the teens.....can you get more follies this late in the game? Seems that the number of follicles I had at the baseline is the same number I have now. No new ones have grown? Mentioned this to my nurse and she just continues to tell me it is quality, not quantity that counts. :? Hopefully the next few days moves along & my back stops aching.... starting to get nervous about the Prog shots.

Well my next appt is Wed..will post updated stats then.

Good luck & Godspeed to everyone. I pray daily for each and every one of you. I am however a firm believer in the power of positive thought, and if this doesn't work this time (for me) then I will try again.... I do believe that everything happens for a reason, and when one door closes, another opens.
(Sorry..I know it all sounds so cliche' but really is so true )

Hi again ladies,

Yes you were right Kelly. The lab called today and I had a voice msg on my phone. I always freak out at this stage but you're right - Kelley - it really is out of our hands.

Our Day 3 stats are we have 2 x 8 cells embies (Grade 1), 1 x 7 cell, 7 x 6 cell, 2 x 5 cell, 3 x 4 cell and 2 x 2 cell. The embryologist said they won't even check them tomorrow as they don't like to disrupt them. So, I'm guessing I just go in on Thursday and hope for the best. There are 10 there that are on track at this stage I do believe?

Good luck to everyone. Hoping for some good news for you all soon,

Dex xx
