Congratulations to all the new mums here! Such fantastic news. Seems like on one hand these pregnancies have dragged by and on the other hand gone so fast.

Good luck to everyone still waiting! Sorry Skidoo I don't have any personal experience on C-Sections although I did go to a class on them to get some information. At this stage I'm going to try for a natural birth but will keep an open mind about a C-Section if it proves necessary.

Good luck for the 8th, must be qutie exciting to know the date you are going to give bith! I'm not due till the end of October and am getting very impatient!

Anyone else had their babies yet??

Hi girls!!

Congrats to all those who have had their babies! How exciting, I am so glad to hear all are doing well. I have my 37 week appt on Friday. I am hoping to hear some good news becuase I am so tired of this!! You'd think I'd go early because I'm lugging around our 3 month old that is like 15 pounds!!!! I hurt everywhere and it is getting harder to take care of him, plus our 3year old. Every night I pass them off to my DH and say sorry, but this is all I can do for now. On top of that we are trying to sell our house and move  so it's been pretty stressful. I've been nervous to give birth and breastfeed, but as long as I can have my body back I'll take it!!! Anyway, it's nice to hear some updates I've been wondering how everyone is doing. Good luck everyone!

woohooo! lot's of new babies are here! Congrats to Meg and rae. Good size babies too. :D

On Sept 10th I went in for my normal scheduled US to find out that Hendrix (baby B) had turned himself breech! They said that he had plenty of fluid and could possibly turn head down in the next 2 weeks if I we're to go that far, if not then I would need a c section. Then we did a fetal heart monitor test. Turns out I was having lots of contractions at the time. They did a cervix check and I was 3 cm dilated! so my Perinatologist sent me straight to the hospital. 3 hours later I was having a C section and saw my baby boys for the first time! Ryden was born at 2:30, 9/10/07 weighing 4lbs 13oz. Hendrix was born at 2:32, 9/10 weighing 5lbs 10oz. They spent 6 days in the NICU, only because they are considered to be premies when born at 35 wks, but they are very healthy and doing really well. They had some normal weight loss but are now back above their birth weight. I've been mostly breastfeeding with some formula supplented until my milk finally flowed more. My mom has been helping me out a lot here at home. She leaves on Monday and I'm a little nervous about how to handle them when they both start crying for something at the same time. Well I guess it just goes with the package. A package that I am so blessed to have. :)

shanny, I feel for you. wishing you an easy rest of your pregnancy. It shouldn't be much longer now.

Congrats to all you FALL moms....Wow what a journey this has been for all of us. I can not believe how far we have all came. Amazing. How is it being a mom? Busy Busy and we dont see many of you on here anymore.
I am one week away from my scheduled c-section. Any suggestions on recovery from the c-sections from those that have had them?
best of luck to all of you that are still hanging on waiting for the minute. I certainly have more appreciation for moms cause this is tough being pregnant.

For those of you that asked, I was really surprised at the whole C-section thing. It really wasn't bad at all. It's been two weeks and I've weaned myself totally off the pain killers. Had my incision check today and it is looking great. Really the only time it bothers me is if I cough or laugh--that sort of strains the muscles. Otherwise it was not bad at all---I wouldn't worry about it!
Good luck to all of you about to deliver and for those of you with new babies---hope you're getting lots of sleep and lots of cuddle time!

Congratulations Meg and Mia!!!

Thanks guys, we're doing great. I am indeed breasfeeding and it's going fantastically - my son was born quite small for a singleton and we were told he might have trouble feeding. Well, there hasn't been any need for supplementing and at his 1-week checkup he had gone from the 5 lbs 1.3 oz (at discharge time) up to 5 lbs 4 oz, and at two weeks he already weighed 5 lbs 12 oz! So all has gone much better than we expected.

Janine, I second Meg in that the c-section was much easier than I had thought - and I had weeks and weeks of bedrest behind me so was probably a slow healer :D Now. three weeks after, I'm off the pain meds and the incision has healed well. Another three weeks of taking it easy ahead of me, but everyday stuff is already easy as there is no more intense pain. The first couple of times of getting out of bed really hurt, but I think that's a small price to pay. Also, the firts week or two the scar hurt the most after periods of immobility, so I had my husband take care of the nighttime changngs and only sat up to feed. Definitely make sure that you have help lifting things etc., but otherwise I think c-section is a great way to go. I've heard from my friends that vaginal delivery can cause quite a bit of pain afterwards too - plus there are certain unpleasant post-delivery symptoms that you actually avoid after a c-section. Even the bleeding is less.

Good luck for the 8th - that was my original due date :D
