Hello Everyone,
Thanks so much for your encouragements. I guess, I'll have to reconsider the pregnancy test. I have another question for you guys. Where do you find all the accronyms. I am still trying to figure out sometimes what people are saying. Are they somewhere on the website here? It's so nice to be able to talk to someone, finally.

Pummalaemma, sorry about your loss and hope you find some solace on this thread. It's hard to stay away from the HPT but I think using it will just add undue pressure to yourself..

Hoping4baby, dont worry, those BCPs are very accurate, you will have your AF come next week and you can start the process! In any case, nothing is cast in stone yet for me, all depends on the US next week, after that the next hurdle would be the thawing. So still long way to go before the FET!

Thanks for the info about the pregnancy tests. Since I am going to have my first blood draw on Monday, maybe I'll try and not do a pregnancy home test. It just sucks because I am usually at work, when I get the news and last time when I got the negative news I was devastated. But I actually thought that with the current tests they would be able to detect whether one is pregnant or not. Hm, .... Anyway, I guess I only have 5 more days to do.

Has any of you ever tried donor eggs or knows some one with donor eggs and what the success rate is with those? I am thinking about what to do next, if this transfer does not work out ...

Good luck to everyone who is waiting for their transfers or their results.

hello everyone,

i just finished reading all the posts. wow, i am so happy to be here.

michellexxx-i wish you all the best for the next 2 weeks and hope your test will be positive. i will do a blood test on day 10 and then another on day 12, but they don't give out the results until after the second test.

to answer some of the initiall questions people had. i was on subcutaneous lupron for about 3 weeks, then i started doxycycline, an antibiotic, then medrol before the transfer and then progesterone. right now i take 3 pills/ day and 2 shots, 1cc each, oh yeahh, and i am still taking estrogen twice a day.

my af came exactly when they progrnosed it would, i actually got a fet date 7 weeks before i started and it was the exact date they predicted.

i am on a warranty program. i get 3 fresh ivf cycles and if i don't deliver a baby plus 30 days, i'll get some of the money back. since i am older, they are not giving all of the money back.

again, good luck to all of you waiting for the fet date.

hey ladies, i was just looking at your posts and saw that pummalaemma is in the twin cities like me. it sounds like you must be at the same clinic too...dr. demario and dr. nagel? i am so sorry to hear about your loss. that is so horrible. i also m/c this summer and it was heartbraking. however, it was only at 6 wks and i knew something was wrong right away. i have been using this clinic since 10/2003. we did a series of iui's that were all unsuccessful. we saved up for the cost sharing ivf program and were successful first time out and now have a beautiful boy now 2! we started with the cost sharing ivf program again in feb 2007. (stats below) we've never had any frozen embies, so i'm not familiar with that process. anyway, i just wanted to say hi and good luck to all of you. any babies born to you ladies will be blessed to be born into so much love and to be so wanted! hang in there.

hi mimi, i am so sorry to hear about your loss. i know exactly how you feel. i am actually at rmia in woodbury and really like the clinic. i have had a much better experience here than i did at my first clinic. are you going to try again?
hi michellexx, my first clinic did not use as many meds either and i was able to do whatever i wanted after my transfers, no bed rest or medications, so i guess every clinic is different.
does anyone know when we could expect any pregnancy symptoms, if it worked out. of course, when i had my transfer right after the retrieval, i immediately felt sick, but now i don't really feel anything except for some drowsiness from the progesterone ...
much babydust to everyone.

pummalaemma, i'm glad to hear that you are having a better experience at your clinic now. we are trying once more...starting lupron tomorrow. it sounds like the re may not be willing to do more, but i fully intend on begging if this does not work. i feel like it can work for us because it has before, but i guess at some point you need to except your reality, whatever that might be.

as for the pregnancy symptoms, i think it's too early to tell and if you read side effects to progesterone, they are almost the same as early pregnancy symptoms. even though it is hard, try not to think about it too much and read into everything you are feeling too much. it's going to drive you crazy...plus i didn't feel pregnant with my son until he started kicking me at 17 wks! nothing, no signs at all! eveyone and every pregnancy is different and most people don't know they are pg until 6-8 wks, more likely to have symptoms then.

try to hang in there.

I feel like I missed so much today! Welcome aboard mimi & pupummalaemma! I am sorry to hear about both of your loses....we have a great board so hopefully we can help each other thru this journey.

I have also been told to never do a HPT OR to do the HPT everyday after FET so you will see the positive due to meds, then it will turn negative, and hopefully positive again when you are pregnant....I would be an emotional mess if I did this torture method to myself everyday. I have seen too many negatives and would rather wait the 2ww for the bloodwork to be done by the office. My MD recommended that I do a HPT if I become symptomatic (which is very rare that early after implantation).
With all of the technology you think they could tell use a couple of days afer transfer....maybe sometime in the near future!

What was everyone told about the 2ww---lots of rest or resume normal activity? I have heard so much conflicting advice.

Also, what about the effects of stress? My job is soooo stressful...I was only going to take off the day of the transfer and following day but now think I should also take Friday to make it a long wekeend. Any input would be appreciated!

Pummalaemma,
I am going to the reproductive medicine center. This is my second attempt- we got the BFN for our Aug 2007 try. We are on the cost sharing program so we have one more try after this. Hopefully, we won't need that third try! Good luck to you to!
