Unexplained Infertility: We looked at literally thousands of pictures of donors. You go online, register and get a password and you have access to the data base. If the agency wants to charge you a fee BEFORE you have selected someone, don't use them (it is such a scam). You do get to receive a great deal of info on the donor. Unlike sperm donors, you get to see many pics from birth to adulthood (sometimes photos of family members), you get education, standardized test scores (if they have them), essays regarding likes/dislikes, list of hobbies, reproductive history, medical history of donor and her family, etc. It is pretty comprehensive. Most of the time, the donation is anonymous and you do not get to meet the donor. We insisted on meeting our first (did us no good as she backed out last minute). It is a long process to find the "right girl' if you are as selective as we seemingly were in the process.

I'm feeling OK. Lots of menstrual like cramps and EXTREMELY TIRED and thirsty. Was worried about the cramps, but my RE said this is normal if not accompanied by blood. I have my first US on Sun/Mon so I should know then how many lil buggers. Hoping for at least twins (and would love one boy, one girl --- healthy is the priority, of course :D ).

I'm thinking about you. Please keep me posted on your next steps and I'll keep you posted on the number of babies.

xoxo

Just wanted to let you guys know that I had my first US today. We have twins (not triplets). Saw 2 strong HBs! Very excited, but a bit surprised that with my 745 9dp5dt beta we are not having triplets. I'm actually sad for the 3rd one that didn't make it (all 3 were perfect blasts). It just makes you realize how precious life is and how we can't take ANYTHING for granted. I think all of us on this board already know this to be the case (particularly those of us who have had failed IVFs in the past). It just amazes me.

I feel so blessed to be pregnant at all, and doubly blessed to have twins. For those of you going for your next round, I wish you all of the best and know that I will be thinking of you. Thanks for all of your support over the last month.

BabyB-

I just sent you a pm. I am SO excited for you!! And even tho the loss of the third one is difficult, I think twins are perfect!

You of course would have managed with 3, but your pregnancy will be much easier and less risky with 2 PLUS you'll get to take your babies home from the hospital with you (my friends with trips all had to leave them in the neonatal ICU until they were big enough to bring home). Not to mention, you and Ashton wont immediately be outnumbered AND you wont need a new car!!

Here's to a happy and healthy pregnancy!! Please keep us posted on your progress...it gives us all hope!!

Hi girls,

I just had my first us today and they saw only one sac in there and one tiny "grain of rice". I was with you babyb and feel a bit sad for the other embryo that didn't make it, I really was thinking we would see both. But I'm thrilled we saw one and one faint little heartbeat. What a relief, I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders! For now anyway!

Welcome Kery! Good luck with the wait, it seems like forever. I'm hoping you see that BFP. Two IVF's is a lot to go thru. Hopefully this will be your time!

Hey folks,

Long time no see :) Sorry, I have been terrible about bopping back in here since I last posted.

BabyB, I hear ya about the exhausted thing. Holy cow have I been tired! I'm not getting things done around the house and I haven't even called and told everyone that I probably should that I'm pregnant :( Just pooped! That is so exciting that you are having twins! I can't wait to hear how many I am having, but having transferred 2 perfect blasts myself, I'm sure there will be a sense of loss if there is only one. I will be happy for however many babies I get :)

I had kind of a scary moment this weekend, and it reminded me how fragile my little dream of pregnancy can be. I started bleeding around 2:30 am on Sunday and it wasn't the brown blood that they tell you not to worry about. It was bright red and had a few clots in it. Sorry TMI. Anyway, I couldn't hardly sleep that night even though it lasted less than an hour. It occurred to me... what if this was it? What if that was as far as these babies could go? I had just gone to the maternity store for the first time that same day. I won't know for sure until my ultrasound on 10/22, but I am so hopeful that he/she/they are ok in there. My doc seems to thing that everything will be ok.

I guess that's why we just have to keep remembering that no matter what happens, there is plenty in life to celebrate now. With or without the babies. But hopefully.... we will all get to experience the life with them :)

You guys take care!

Hi Guys!

As some of you know Im kinda new here, just started a few months back when i did my 3rd ICSI which got me a BFP. But like Rotoby, thanks for always giving me your words of wisdom even in my other posts on the message board about morning sickness, etc., etc.

I just had to comment on how wonderful it is to read what misty and bean wrote that life goes on and that there are many more things in life to enjoy and of course we are all hoping to enjoy life with our babies someday..if not it doesnt or shouldnt stop there! It just caught me cuz just this morning my hubby and I were already talking about other things: renovating our house, travelingl, etc. That inspite of my BFP which also brings anxieties (maybe more), I also try to think of my other life out there and the people who love us regardless of :)

Babyb how nice 2HB!!! Congrats! At 5 weeks my doc also did a us, my first, and they saw 2 sacs!!! one was smaller than the other but were all hoping to have TWINS! It was too early to detect a HB since it was so small, just 2 sacs and 2 black dots but by next Monday on my 7th week, the doc said we´ll know for sure...so please PRAY for us...you think the smaller one has a chance of being a Twin? Hope so really...

Thanks again for staying so positive cuz that gives eveyone hope BFP or BFN...no matter what... :D

CONGRATS!!!
I am really so happy for you. TWINS! Hurray!! It must be so exciting! The egg donor business is impressive. Pics from various stages of life, standardized tests...I will be SOOO picky, I already know that. My hubby is a bit angry at me for that :(

Tris and others,
I just got my 3rd BFN with ICSI - any thoughts - anything you did different emotionally, physically or with diet since my journey continues.

Did you get 2nd opionion? I am in DC area and like my doc a lot, but pretty discouraged given my discipline and cutting back my diet so to try to be so good and yet no good results...

Thanks,
Rudy

Hi Rudy!

Actually Ive been wanting to write this to the other girls as a new post and maybe I will cuz in my experience on my 3rd IVF and during the 2ww, I just stayed in bed!!! I dont know if you can stay put a long time but I did and only got up to go to the bathroom and sit to eat. Good thing my hubby was with me cuz he picked up everything, cooked, did the laundry, cleaned, etc. and I literally did nothing...just watched TV+DVDs, read books, etc. I didnt bend over or carry anything!, I walked liked a snail and didnt climb stairs...and this was for the entire 2ww without complaining :) and I swear it worked!!!! My DH and I swear by COMPLETE BED REST during the 2ww...and not only for 4 days but until the blood test results were up.

I dont know if every woman can afford to do this with other obligations: work and other children to attend to, but if you can and are willing to sacrifice...its worth it! I didnt even change my diet from my last 2 cycles but of course I watched it a little and excercised...I still had lots of caffeine, chcocolates, etc. In my last 2 cycles I also rested only for 4 days and did things around the house and worked after that, even if I took it easy...When I just did nothing and stayed in bed, it worked. I have to mention that none of my eggs were any better than the last 2 cycles. They were all day 3 mix A and B quality, some even fragmented...they also never reached the blasto stage...Now Im almost 2 months with the possibility of twins (cuz of the 2 sacs present)...

This is what I did differently...hope it helps!

Hi Ladies:

Sorry I haven't posted in a couple of days. Thanks to everyone for all of the kind words. It is a bit of a difficult week for me and my DH. Yesterday was the first anniversary of my daughter's passing. Hard to believe it has been a year since I've held her in my arms. We visited her at the cemetary and just told her about her twin siblings (part of me hopes that by some miracle, my little girl is on her way back to us in another body -- a healthy one this time). In any event, we are just laying low this week.

Rotobay: You are so funny, but right. I guess we can fit the little ones into the smaller cars! Moreover, one lil one for Ashton to hold and one lil one for me to hold is just perfect FOR NOW -- LOL!

Keddie: I'm not an expert, but I think 2 sacs is a good sign (nice chance at twins). Best of luck and keep us posted. VERY EXCITING NEWS.

Misty: I have my 2nd US on 10/22 as well so let's check in together.

Rudy: I am so very sorry to hear the said news. I know words are cold comfort right now. All I can say is don't give up (I have read plenty of stories here where women tried 5 plus times and FINALLY succeeded). It just makes you realize the blessing/miracle of life. In my case, as most know the story, I had to use donor eggs because I carry a fatal gene that took my little girl from me. At the end of the day, however, I have 2 beautiful babies about to enter our world. I wish you all the best in whatever decision you make.

Unexplained: I was SOOOOOO picky in the egg donor business. It drove us and everyone else involved crazy.

Tris: Keep me posted on the 7 wk US. I'm sure everything will be great. I think 3 of us are schedule for US on 10/22

Bean, thanks for the kind words. Hope you are well.
