mlifp,
Does the clinic/fertility center you go to know your not going to come in for your beta blood test on the 19th and plan to do a HPT later on at home. I ask this because not only am I also going through the IVF process, but I am also a nurse. I know the importance of the beta test. You see the blood test they do also known as a beta test, allows them to know the amount of HCG in the blood at 14 days post transfer, then that allows them them monitor the increase in HCG every 48 to 72 hour (expect 50 - 66% increase) It is the increase that determines the viability of the embryo. I'm not saying your wrong to want to do a HPT later. I'm just saying you should definately let your IVF center know your plans and see what they say. In fact you could always go in for the beta test and ask they not tell you the results, that you will be testing on your own later. At least that way, they have the base number. Think about it.
Magic,
I think your clinic might be sending you home with a HIGH sensitivity test. A test that detects as little as 15 to 20 Imu/ml HCG. The ones you get in your pharmacy are mostly low sensitivity test 50 - 100 Imu/ml (some are 25 Imu/ml). Anyway, your clinic may only do a beta test AFTER you get a positive preg test at home. Please let me know what you find out.
Mimi,
Thanks, for your support and empathy, I really appreciate it and
need it right now. Yes I do take the move forward approach. I think if I stop it would be much more painful to my heart. The sooner we do this again, the sooner I can get pregnant. How is your pregnancy doing by the way? Still no symptoms? Boobies hurt yet??

. When you talk to your little embryo in your belly, tell he/she I said hi LOL

.
Neeve,
Thank you for your kind words. I imagine you can feel my pain. How are you hanging in there? I am so hoping you don't have the same result as me. I know your feeling low cuz you took that HPT, but you probably took a low sensitivity test, so there is a higher increase in a false negative. It's still possible you'll get a BFP at beta time. I'm praying for you!
