Hi ladies,

Got back from the doctor as well. They are triggering me tomorrow night & will do egg retrieval on Monday. They saw 12 eggs measuring from 1.0 to 2.1....I have no clue if that is good. I'm getting really nervous now......we are shooting to put them back in on the Friday after Thanksgiving :).

Praying for everyone!!!!

I had my U/S today. I have been on stims for 3 days so it is a day early- they wanted to avoid the weekend. they saw 4 little follies not measuring size and my E2 is still pretty low 85. My RE said that this is exactly where I should be. So why am I still worrying. I am so paranoid that I won't make enough eggs. So My next U/S is Monday and is day 9 that should give me a good idea of ER. Either Turkey Day or the day after.

LA- YEAH! I think that 12 at those measurements are great. You get to do a Day 5 transfer- that is awesome.

Good Luck everyone! Lots of happy growing follicles. Take it easy, eat very healthy& lots of Healthy fats.

Stephanie- Rest up- I hope you feel better.

Hi! I start stimming tomorrow! I will be on 5 units of Lupron, 150 of Gonal F and 75 on Menopur once a day. My next appt is Tuesday a.m. ER is tentatively still scheduled for Nov 26th. I have been through these shots before when I did my IUI's, but never so many at the same time!! It makes me a little nervous. Oh well, all for a good cause!!

It is nice to see everyone feeling so positive - yeah!!!

LAIF - Yeah - you are already doing ER!!! Whoo hoo!! :D

itsgottawork - I am pretty lucky in that my boss knows what I am doing and so do a few of my co-workers. They are all so supportive. It is wonderful! :)

4ourbaby - You are going to be doing some serious shooting up, huh? :) Looks like you will do ER right after me!

Stephanie - sounds like you are coming down with something! I have been so hoping that doesn't happen to me. It is that time of the year! Get lots of rest so you are up to par for your ER. Sounds like you are progressing well though! :D

dancinnancy - Good job on the 4 follies! You are well on your way! :D

missleine - welcome! Hang in here - things can change in a moment, so hopefully you can progress with your cycle. We will be hoping for you!!

Hello everyone!!

I hope you don't mind one more!!

This is my first IVF cycle. I started lupron on 10/28. Just started Stims this morning. I am taking 75IU Follistim plus 75 IU Repronex. The shot stung a little going in but nothing too horrible. (lets see if I am saying the same thing 7 days from now!!) Ha! However..I went for a walk this afternoon and noticed the injection site hurt worse afterward?! I am injecting in my bum.

It is about that time for my second round of injections. I cannot decide if I should inject in the same cheek or switch sides.....so many decisions!!

I go in for my U/S and BW on 11-21 then again on 11-24

Very excited to take this journey with all of you!! All of my friends have children and had no problems conceiving. It is difficult finding peeps that really understand what we are going through.

Hope to hear from everyone soon!!

Welcome missleine and MBG! Thanks for joining our chat!

missleine: I am sorry to hear that you may have to start a new cycle :( What does the doctor say about the follies?

Marybeth (MBG): I'm glad to find someone else on Follistim and Repronex! It seems like the others are on Menopur. This is my second "fresh" IVF, but the first time on this medicine.

I started Follistim yesterday (3 vials in am, 3 vials in pm). I don't know when I will start the Repronex. My doctor prefers the shots to go into the arm muscle. Can you say OUCH?! Shots in my bum are so much easier! I am very uncomfortable taking the shot and for a few minutes after, but then I am fine. Then again, it's only Day 2. But if I were you, I would definitely switch cheeks for each shot.

I go back on 11/19 for b/w and ultrasound. My doctors usually see me every other day when I am on stims.

I know how you feel about everyone around you having children. It's heartbreaking. You're happy for them, but sad for yourself. Believe me...I've gone through every emotion when it comes to that subject. If you want to chat about it, we're all hear to listen.

Good Luck everyone!

Hello again!

4ourbaby: Are you getting the shots in the back of your arm? Sounds painful!!How big is the needle? The needles I am using seem HUGE!! It is interesting how every RE differs when it comes to preferred injection sites.

I agree about being uncomfortable right after the shot. The medicine really stings as it is going in! But the sting does not seem to last that long.
I switched cheeks last night. I think I will just continue to go back and forth...I do not want one side to feel left out! HA!
For our first IUI I used the Follistim pen....much much easier! I remember the nurse telling me to warm the vile in my hands before injecting....it would help with the sting. I tried that this morning but the sting was the same.

It is interesting that you have not yet started the Repronex. I am mixing the Follistim and the Repronex together in the same syringe and take both twice a day. Again, every RE seems to have a different protocol.

Can you feel anything yet? I remember the last time I was on Follistim I could feel my ovaries working! When I told my girlfriends this they thought I was CRAZY!! Anyway I started getting that same feeling this morning...just a little, but I can still feel a difference.

Good Luck tomorrow!! :)

Has anyone started taking an antibiotic?
My DH and I were both prescribed an antibiotic that we are to take twice daily for 7 days...this started with the stim shots.

I wish everyone the best of luck!!

Hello everyone! I am so happy to see that everyone has started their stimms....I went to the doctor on Thursday and had an ultrasound to see what was going on and I had 6 follies. How did that happen?? Unfortunately, my cycle needs to be suppressed before I can start stimms. The doctor says that the reason why AF hasn't started was because the Lupron was not suppressing my cycle. He told me to stop the Lupron on start birth control pills again. After 21 days, I can start the Lupron again at a higher dose and wait for AF....I don't know what happened, but I guess I will have to wait at least another month and try again..It is so disappointing to wait so long and then be told I have to stop everything and start birth control pills again. Oh well, thank you for all of the support. I hope it is ok if I keep posting. I would love to see all the BFPs in a few weeks. :P

Hi Girls,

LAIVF: Good luck tomorrow! I am so happy for you. I hope that it is an easy process and that you are nice and relaxed and feeling good. When you feel up to it, let us know how everything went. I'm hoping for tons of eggs for you!!

MBG: The shots are sort of of on the side of my arm. I have to raise my arm shoulder height so my husband can feel the muscle. Then I lower it and he injects. Unfortunately, my doctor really seems to believe in the intramuscular shots. The medicines state on the box that they can be given subcutaneously, by mine are always intramuscular  The needle we switch to for the shot says it's 23G (0.6mm x 25mm). It seems smaller than the ones we have used for progesterone.

It is strange how protocols can be so different. When I first received my medicines, they said I may take them both together. Who knows. I go back to the doctor tomorrow, so maybe they will start me on it tomorrow.

That's funny that you thought you could feel your ovaries working!! Ha Ha. I swear I think I can feel things going on too! Maybe its' just the wishful thinking.

My husband and I were both on antibiotics as soon as we started on the Lupron. I took both Ofloxacin (Floxin) and Metronidazole (Flagyl) 2 times a day for 7 days and my husband took the Ofloxacin 2 times a day for 7 days. When do you go back to the doctor?

Odie: I'm so sorry that you have to wait a while longer before continuing on! But I have to say, you seem so positive! You're an inspiration to us all. I hope you do continue to post so we can keep in touch with how things are going with you.

Baby Dust to everyone!

I had my Day 9 U/S this morning. Now I have 9 follicles and I have 2 more days of stims to grow a few more. I am hoping for a modest 12. My ER date will be This Friday! Yeah I am so excited.

Odie- I am so sorry to hear that you have to wait. I know that can be frustrating.

Odie: I am so sorry to hear about your delay. I know every set back is so disheartening. Just think... With this being Holiday Season those 21 days will fly by! Take this time to enjoy your family.... Before you know it you will be back on track!!!

4ourbaby: I go back to the doctor on the 21st. Since this is my first IVF I am following their typical protocol. I have U/S and BW on the 5th day of Stim and then again on the 8th. I keep thinking lots of Follies! Lots of Follies! However I have read some of the other threads and there are some ladies out there that had 30 or so follies and had serious probs with OHSS! I had mild OHSS after our IUI. I do not want that to get in the way of ER/ET! So ...I have modified my mantra to "just the right amount of follies" You have to be sooo specific when dealing with this fertility stuff!

Good luck @ RE tomorrow! I will be sending lots of positive folli thoughts your way :D

Wishing everyone all the best !!

Hi Girls!

Everything went fine at the doctor today. It was a little chaotic today at the office, so I don't even know how many follies I have! But all is good and I go back on Wednesday.

babY0807: Yeah for Friday! Eat, drink, and be merry on Thursday! Good luck!

Hi girls! Well, I go for my sonogram and b/w in the morning. I am really curious to see how everything has been progressing. I have not been feeling well the last couple of days - upset stomach and headaches. I don't know if it is caused by the meds or not. I never had problems before when I took these meds with my IUI's. I am a little nervous about tomorrow as I can definitely be a risk with all the follicles I produce for OHSS. Wish me luck!! Oh - and I did acupuncture for the 1st time today. Kind of weird I think. :? I don't know. I guess I wasn't sure what to expect. After all these needles lately, I can't believe I subjected myself to even more!!! :)

Odie - Bless you heart. I know somewhat how you feel. I had to take BCP's at one point when I was doing IUI's when I thought I was going to be able to go right into my 2nd IUI but instead I had a cyst! I was so upset at first, but you know, things happen I guess. You will be amazed at how quick the next few weeks go by and we will all be tracking you closely when you get started again! Best of luck and enjoy the holidays while you prepare to get started again!! :)

Sounds like everyone is doing great and have such GREAT attitudes!! That is awesome!!! :D

I too just started acupuncture! Yesterday was my first time. It was a little strange. The acupuncturist asked me if it hurt as she was placing the needles. I thought... are you kidding!! After all the shots I have been getting this is NOTHING!! Someone on another thread is called "Pincushion" I think that is very fitting for all of us!

Did you get the burning incense (chinese herbs) placed on your belly...talk about pressure. She lit the incense then told me not to move due to the flame on my belly. Of course once she said do not move, I started to feel like I needed to take deep breaths...scared each breath was going to topple the flame....I thought this was supposed to be relaxing! In all seriousness...I thought the treatment was great! She wants me to come back today and tomorrow then again on Monday. On the day of my ET I am to come in 2 times. Once before the ET and once after.

She also told me to eat warm foods and drink soy milk. This will also help with blood flow. I left the session and went directly to kroger for soup and soy milk.

I have been having headaches...they started when I began the lupron and have been pretty consistant. Are you taking antibiotics? Are you taking them with food? It may just be a combo of stress and meds that are making you sick to your stomach. I hope you feel better!! :)

Best of Luck today!!!

4ourbaby: Good luck @ your appointment on Wednesday...mine is wednesday too......Just the right amount of follies....just the right amount of follies!! :)

Good luck to everyone!!
