OMG! I can't believe you guys have that many egges - holy cow!! I was in pain with what I had and I didn't end up with nearly that many! Of course, our clinic takes a pretty conservative approach which I do like. Anyway, I ended up with 13! :D I was very happy with that!

For those of you ladies awaiting ER, it is a BREEZE! Seriously. I was kind of scared and yet it was really easy. I have basically no pain afterwards, but I have been sleeping most of the day. Anyway, don't worry about it as it is really very easy. And as if you can't already tell - I am a bit of a sissy!! :D :D :D

Take care all! I will try to post later!!

Hello everyone!! I feel as though I have been gone forever!!

It sounds like everyone is trucking along smoothly!!

My ER was this morning...it was a little different than I expected...I thought I would be asleep during the procedure, but I was awake, highly medicated, but awake. Kind of a surreal experience!

They were able to get 11 eggs. :D Now I am just hopeing they are good eggs!! My doctor is supposed to call tomorrow mid morning to let me know how many fertilized ect....Another nerve racking wait!

tinaO: Congrats on your 13 eggs! I too have been sleeping most of the day. I was not in much pain directly after the procedure...felt a little worse as the morning went on...took one of my ,prescribed, juiced up tylenol and it knocked me smooth out!! Feel pretty good right now!

4ourbaby: congrats on the 21 eggs! That is fabulous!! You crack me up MGD (miller geniune draft)...I am right there with you...I would love a nice glass of wine right now!!

Dancinnancy: Good luck on Friday! Has your dr mentioned anything to you about a high protein diet, to help with OHSS? A friend/co-worker is on the same cycle we are and at a high risk for OHSS. Her dr. suggested she drink lots of fluid and eat foods high in protein beginning the night she took her trigger shot. It may be worth looking into.

itsgottawork: Way to go on the 16 follies! Hope your ER went well!!

LaIVF: I can only imagine how anxious you are...not much longer now!

Eravic: Welcome! I too felt some pain when I first started lupron, don't worry..it will go away....I don't know if this will make you feel better or worse, but after I started stimming...The lupron felt like nothing! You will get used to it....just keep reminding yourself why you are taking the shots in the first place. :D

lots of hugs!

Hi Girls,

I really have been having a lot of cramping since the ER yesterday. I just can't get comfortable! I've been using gas-x and walking to try to relieve some of the pressure. Has anyone had symptoms like this?

We spoke to the doctor today. Out of 21 eggs, 10 fertilized, with the possibility of 2 more fertilizing. We go back on Friday for a possible embryo transfer, which would be a 3 day transfer. We were really hoping for a 5 day. However, there is a possibility that when we get there Friday, that they will tell us to come back Sunday. But I am thinking that it will be on Friday. I just want these to be strong embryos that really latch on when they get in there!

MBG: Congrats on your 11 eggs! I hope they all fertilize! I'm also glad that you are feeling so good!

LAIVF: You're almost there! Yipeeee!

Hi Ladies!
I am happy the ER is over with. This was my first time with anesthesia and let me tell you it was not pleasant. They said I would wake fully rested and instead I was just fully nauseas! :( The nurse was great though. I was begging for crackers which she gave me, along with a couple extra doses of the anti-nausea medication. I guess I know now I am susceptible to nausea with anestesia. I think I was at the hospital over 4 hours.
They got 24 eggs out of me and while DH's count was low, they say they have enough to fertilize which I am happy about. I don't know if I mentioned we are doing ICSI so as long as they have enough for that, I am happy. :D
I am taking part in this study that is comparing progesterone injections vs. the gel. Is anyone using the gel? They said it is FDA approved and used across the US but I haven't seen much discussion on it. It is supposed to be less of an effort than the suppositories. You only have to take it once a day instead of 3x and you don't have to lay down afterwards. I guess there is a risk of discharge that is different than the suppository discharge but sounds equally as gross. There are 2 groups in the study, the first group takes the gel starting after ER and continues for 10-11 weeks after BFP. The second group does injections until the test and then the gel after that. Protocol outside the study is injections until the test and then suppositories afterward. At first we weren't going to try something new, but the thought of no injections was enticing and they ensured us that it is the same medication either way so we signed up for it. I had 40 minutes of hope before they told me I was randomly chosen to do the injections and then the gel only after getting BFP. :(
Any information anyone has on the gel would be appreciated though.

I am glad to hear everyone is doing so well.

Welcome Eravic! Good luck with your cycle!

tinaO - I hear you about the trigger shot. It wasn't horrible going in, but the next day was not fun. Congrats on your ER! It is great news that it was so easy for you!

Dancinnancy - Good luck on your ER!!! We'll all be thinking of you tomorrow! And, I am jealous you got to trigger sub-cutaneously!!!

MBG/MGD - Beer or wine might be okay, but I am dying for a Cosmo! If this cycle fails, I am definitely having one soon afterwards. That's how I have gotten through getting AF this far. If I get it, I get a cosmo. Although, being on an IVF cycle is different. I am not sure how I would cope with BFN after all this.

4ourbaby - congratulations on 10 fertilizing! That is great news and I hope we all get similar results!!!

Jane Doe - How are you doing after ER?

Laivf - Hang in there, just 6 days left!!!

What is everyone's test date? Have they told you yet? They told me yesterday that I wouldn't test until the 17th but that I could try to negotiate that with the other nurses. I was hoping for the 14th or 15th.

High fertilization rates and stickiness for everyone!
(Yeesh, that sounds kind of gross. But, you know what I mean!) :)

Hey All,
Looks like you gals did pretty good with your ER. :D I am glad for you all. We had some disappointment since only 11 eggs were retrieved and we know 2 of which are overmature :( We will know how many have been fertilised today. Anyways, after the ER I slept the entire afternoon and in the evening was heavily bloated. Nurse said that it is possible so I am not worried about it.
Now the wait begins.........

Hello all! Well, I just got the call from the clinic and I can finally breathe a sigh of relief. We had 13 eggs, one was not mature enough, so that left us with 12. Looks like 10 eggs were good out of the 12 and 10 fertilized normally! We did ICSI on 1/2 of them but the nurse said it doesn't look like we needed to, which I knew going in as DH has pretty good counts and mobility/motility, but I stressed about it anyway. Looks like I wasted $1,000 on that - oh well! :D :D :D We transfer on Saturday!!! My clinic has the same success rates for 3-day transfers as they do 5-day, so they typically only do 3-day. They said the success rate for my age is about 50%. What have you all been told about success rates?

LAIVF - How are you hanging in there girlfriend?? I keep thinking about you. I know this is the tough part, but know we are all thinking about you!

Jane - Don't worry!!! 11 eggs is great!!! I know compared to some women who are getting 20 it doesn't sound so good, but I think that is awesome! They say something like 5-12 is normal. Look at me - I had 12 and 10 fertilized and were normal. Think positive!! My RE said that all that matters is that you have one normal one and that is soooo true. Hang in there and I bet you have good news coming. How old are you? I am 37, so I was a little nervous about the quality of my eggs, but it looks like I was fine. Maybe all my exercise and healthy eating over the years finally paid off - who knows. But just think positive and know we are all rooting for you! :) :)

itsgottawork - sorry about your bad time with the anesthesia! :( I have been through it a few times with previous operations (like an appendectomy), so I handle it really easily. Bless your heart! And I have to do the PIO shots - yuck! I dread my first one tonight. I wish I could do gel!!! :?

4ourbaby - I asked the clinic about my bloating and pressure and they said that is totally normal. I guess it is because our ovaries are still so enlarged. Anyway, they said it should go away in a couple of days. So hang in there! With 21 eggs, I am sure yours are really enlarged. Just try to relax and think good thoughts!! :D Congrats on the 10 fertilizing!!!! :D :D

MBG - hope your fertilization rates were great! I was totally knocked out during the procedure. Must have been kind of weird to be sort of awake.

dancinnancy - Hope you are doing well! Good luck!!! Hopefully ER will be tomorrow as planned!!! Lucky you on the sub-q needle!!! :D

Take care girls!

Thanks for your positive thoughts, I guess I needed some reassurance since this is our last IVF and everything depends on it.
LAIVF- looking at your numbers I do feel that there is still some hope for us.

tinaO - Congratulations on 10 fertilized eggs. My clinic has similar success rates too. Regarding my age- I am 30 but have alot of fertility related problems (Fibroids, Endo, bad egg quality and low ovarian reserve). I guess that is why I am nervous all the time...seems like everything is against us for getting pregnant. Anyways, will know better as to how we did this time in a few hours.

Hello ladies!!

Well..... out my 11 eggs they retrieved....8 were mature....and 6 fertilized! (7actually but one was genetically unstable :( ) I am VERY excited!!! I was a nervous wreck this morning waiting on the phone call!

TinaO:Congrats on the 10 embies!! Yeepee!! :D A success rate of 50% sounds great to me! My RE gave us an overall success rate of 25% when we first began the IVF process. (I am 33....34 on Saturday) I think I will go with your clinics success rate!!! :D

Jane Doe: Just keep reminding yourself...it only takes one good egg!!
It ain't over till its over...so hang in there and try to remain positive! :)

itsgottawork: I have had terrible time with anesthesia in the past...I can totally feel your pain...now you know that they next time your put under, you have to make sure they know to put anti-nausea medication into your IV...it sucks to be sick like that!!
Woohoo on the 24 eggs! That is awesome! :D
I am taking the progesterone shots, which I had to start last night...I was so tired (even though I had slept most of the day) I went to bed and forgot to take the shot. At about 9:30 I awoke in a panic..I came running out of the bedroom scrambling around to get the all the supplies together. My poor Dh was hanging out watching tv in the living room...he must of thought i had gone mad!! ....he was a little confused, he thought I was done with my shots...anyway...I wish I was on a gel ...I know they might be messy...but I am SICK of getting shots!!!

4ourbaby: Congrats on the 10 (12) embies!! :D That is fabulous!

I am sorry you are feeling so crappy. I have been a little uncomfortable today, but not any more than I was prior to the ER. Sorry if this is TMI...but the only time I am really uncomfortable is when I try to use the bathroom.....I am a little constipated :( ...I think this is normal...hope it is anyway!!

We go in on Saturday @ 9:30 for our ET....My Birthday is on Saturday! How crazy is that! I cannot think of a better birthday present then to have my little embies placed in their new 9 month home!

We haven't really discussed this, but how embies is everyone planning on putting back in?

Here's to strong healthy embies!!!

Hi Girls!

It's crazy how fast we are all flying through this now. Remember when we were all on Lupron just waiting around for something to happen?!

itsgottawork: Sorry about the nauseousness but oh my gosh...24 eggs!!!! Makes it all worth it! That's an interesting study you're in. I don't know anything about the gel. I have only been on oil and suppositories. Make sure to share the results

Jane Doe: Keep your chin up! I don't know if I missed this somewhere, but do you know how many fertilized?

tinaO: Wow...10 out of 12 fertilizing is great! We also had 10 fertilized, but we started with 21...so you're off to an amazing start! I hope you continue to get great results! Thanks for the info on bloating/pressure. I'm finally starting to get some relief today.

MBG/MGD: Yeah! 6 embies! I have to say, you continue to make me smile when I read your posts. You truly sound so excited and it's just the kick in the butt I need to remind me to stay positive!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I HOPE ALL YOUR BIRTHDAY WISHES COME TRUE (IN 9 MONTHS :D )

LAIVF: How are you hanging in there????

So, here's where I stand. We spoke to the doctor today and 5 of the 10 embies seem to be doing very well. He called them the "frontrunners" - haha. They are all 4-celled right now and he believes they will be 6-8 cells by the time we transfer. Apparently, 8 cells are the best.

We are going to be doing a 3-day transfer tomorrow! As of now, they are going to transfer ALL 5...but that can always change right up until the time of transfer. Whatever embies are remaining, they will try to get to the blastocyst stage and then freeze. But it is entirely possible that I will not have any to freeze :(

I am currently on 2cc of progesterone in oil, progesterone suppositories 3x a day, lovenox, amoxicillin, calcium, plus all my regular prenatals and vitamins. I have so many charts to track what I take!

It really sounds like everyone is positive and it looks like 3 of us already will be doing a 3-day transfer. Wish me luck tomorrow...I'll let you know how it goes.

Love, hugs, & Baby Dust! xoxoxox

I am so happy for everyone and their fertilized eggs. That is the first step. I have not posted because I did not want to cause you all anxiety. I got 3 eggs - most of my follicles were empty and the 3 that were in mature follicles were immature(it doesn't make sense). So they were unable to be fertilized. My RE says that only 3% of the people he sees in a year have this issue and there is no good fix. So we are taking a big long break and are focusing on life. We have been married for 2 1/2 years and have been ttc for the whole time. Ups and downs....hormoness...you know the drill. So for the next 4-5 months I am going to focus on other things try naturally and then maybe 1 more IVF- who knows maybe they will have a better protocol to improve egg quality. TAKE CARE everyone- i wish you lots of BFP's and thanks for the support.

babY0807 - I am so sorry to hear of your results. I wish you the best as you take a break and recharge yourself.
I hope that 2008 brings you happiness and that you have much better luck during your time off and during the next IVF cycle.
There are so many downs during this process and I will pray for you to get an up soon!
Take care of yourself and good luck!

Hi Ladies!
How is everyone doing?
LAIVF - How are you feeling? Do you have any symptoms or feel differently? I have a feeling that even with a BFP, I won't really be able to feel anything. I didn't feel much when all the eggs were growing, it is only after ER that I am having stomach issues and everything. Before that, I felt nothing so I suspect more of the same during my 2ww. I was wondering if you felt the same?

Dancinnancy - Good luck today! I wish you the best for your ER and that you feel great afterwards!!!

4ourbaby - Good luck on your transfer today!!! That's great that they'll be transferring all 5! I hear you about all the charting and pills! I told my DH this is my chance to see what it is like to be an old person. It seems I am always popping pills! And, after the ER, I was definitely walking like I was 90 too! :)

TinaO - Congratulations on 10 fertilized eggs!!!! I am impressed. 10 out of 12 is a great ratio! Good luck on Saturday!

Jane - Are you transfering on Saturday too? Good luck with everything. I hope you had great fertilization rates!!!

MBG - Happy Birthday!!! I hope you have a great day and a successful transfer! My birthday is the 20th so I will know by then. People keep asking what I want for my birthday and the only thing I really want is a BFP earlier that week!!! If I get that, I don't care about anything else!

Here's where we are at right now. I am feeling better today than I did after the transfer. That really knocked me out for a while! My stomach still feels a little off and they have me drinking a ton of water so I am hoping that all will be well soon. I hope tomorrow I wake up feeling normal, but then I also hope I don't feel normal for another 9 - 10 months! :) We had 24 eggs, and they attempted to fertilize 17 of them with ICSI. Of the 17, 12 fertilized. I am excited! We are really, REALLY hoping they transfer 2 but I have a feeling we are going to have to push for that.
I had my first PIO shot last night. (I don't start the gel until after the BFP. I am more in the control group for the study :( ) I have to say, this shot was a LOT easier than the trigger shot. Is anyone else finding that to be the case? I was REALLY sore after the trigger, and today I can barely feel last night's shot. Is that what others are experiencing?

We don't know what time the transfer is tomorrow, they will be calling us with that. Another phone call to wait for. I am sick of waiting!!!

I wish everyone baby dust and the best of luck with their Ers/transfers and waiting!!!
