4ourbaby - I agree with everyone else. It isn't over until the real test is in. This is why they say the act of taking HPTs is evil! I am saying extra prayers for you and wish you all the best today.

MBG - :D CONGRATULATIONS!!! :D An excellent beta number. :D It is now official! I got teary with your story about the ornament. I have seen those in stores and really, really hope I get to buy one this weekend. I am so excited for you and tinaO, and LAIVF too! This is a great start to the beta testing! :D

Oh God, I could have just made an IT joke about beta testing but I will refrain.

I am a bit giddy. I was tested about an hour ago. Unfortunately, they don't call until 2 - 4 PM so at best, I still have at least 5 1/2 hours to wait - and I have never actually been called at 2. I am so hoping for a big number! I can't wait to find out. This week has been such a rollar coaster. I was so confident Wednesday and Thursday and now that it is almost real, I am just really nervous. This morning I was feeling nauseas but I could just tell it was from nerves only. It is all so freaky!

BBDusts - Good luck tomorrow! I have no idea what the time zone difference is between Asia and the east coast of the US so you'll be in my thoughts all weekend and I can't wait to hear your results! I laughed out loud reading that you woke up your husband when you were so excited with the thread!

dancinnancy - Good luck today. Please keep us posted on the big result and your u/s. That is exciting to think they may see something!!! I can't wait to hear.

I agree with everyone, we definitely have to keep this thread going so we can keep track of how everyone is doing.

tinaO, MBG, what are your next steps? If I get a positive today, they will check my number again on Monday and then I'll have an u/s in about a week and a half. She said it would most likely be after Christmas but it depends on the number. Is that the same protocol your places are following?

Congrats to those who have already tested, and good luck to everyone today! Words cannot express how much I want good numbers for everyone.

Hello all!!! Happy testing today!!!

itsgottawork - Good luck - although I don't think you need it!! Too bad you have to wait that long!!! You are going to crawl out of your skin! I felt the same way yesterday as you do. I was nervous even though I had taken all those HPT's!! Then I thought maybe testing a day early wasn't such a good idea as my Beta was going to be lower. The things we worry about, I tell ya!! :D Anyway, I am sure you will have GREAT news shortly!! :D Oh - and it is TinaO....as in the letter, not the number! :)

4ourbaby - Good luck, girl! I am praying for you and hoping for good news. I know how tough this is and just wanted you to know we are all here for you. Let's hope those evil HPT's were wrong! :)

dancinnancy - I think we have another one who we are already expecting a great number from today!! We are wishing you the best and POST, POST, POST as soon as you know!!! I am on pins and needles waiting for you all!!! I keep pushing my laptop aside to get on my home PC so I can check on you all! Damn work is getting in the way of my Beta tracking!! :D

BBdusts - Good luck to you!! With the time difference with you, it makes it confusing to know when you are testing exactly!!! Keep us posted. You are such a sweetheart and I am glad your hubby has joined in on all the fun. I also keep telling my husband about all of you and just how attached I am to hearing everything that is going on with everyone! I just want so much to have everyone have good results so we can all be fat & happy together!! :D

What happened to Jane Doe? We kind of lost her recently.

As for me, I am testing again Monday and then not sure about the scan. They mentioned something about after the 1st of the year!! Uggghhh....that seems to long to wait!!! I think because their office is closed over Christmas!! I will have to discuss this with them on Monday!!

Good luck ladies and I will be thinking about you!!!

Thank you all for all your wonderful wishes and prayers.... I am still so nervous and I can't sleep. Now its 11.30 pm and another 8 hrs to go for me to test my blood. I am still not allowed to go out from the house by my DH. Instead he will draw my blood and sent to the lab for test. Anyway the nurse from the clinic told me to do HPT test in the morning since they are closing at 12 noon and the result won't be out by then.

4ourbaby: we are all here for you. Don't think too much about the HPT result. The most important thing is your beta. Pray BFP for you. BFP BFP BFP!!!!

And for the rest who are going for the test today, good luck to you all. Baby dust to all. May this Christmas bring happiness and joy beyond our imagination :) :) :)

Baby dust to all the ladies in 2 ww waiting :) :)

tinaO - I hear you about work getting in the way. It is so hard to focus on anything else. All I think about is getting my phone call and looking for updates on this board. I am really obsessive about it actually! (As obvious by my recent excessive and lengthy posting. I can't stop myself!)
I keep thinking the same thing about my number. I am now testing 3 days earlier than they had planned. But, then I think I had my transfer at the same time as folks here so I shouldn't worry about that. I must stay positive in order to be positive! :)
We had a major snowstorm yesterday so a lot of people are out of the office today. It isn't helping that they are calling to check in. Even though they are not calling my cell (where the nurses will call), I still jump every time my work phone rings. And, I still have more than 3 hours before I even have a chance of getting a call from the nurse.
Waiting for the u/s will be the next kind of 2ww for you (and hopefully everyone else). I am not sure if our office is closed or not. I know they close down on the retrievals/transfers the last 2 weeks of the year, but that's at one hospital and the regular office as at another hospital. It sounds like they might still be open. I can only focus on the new few hours though. Then, I will focus on Monday and then focus on the u/s.

Good Luck BBDusts! How long are you going to have to wait for your results then? Your DH is going to take your blood in the AM and you won't get to find out that day? I feel for you as it sounds like a long time to wait. A few hours is agonizing enough! Keep us posted on both of your results!

Good thoughts and prayers for everyone!

Well, I guess I have completely gotten ahead of myself by being too positive.
They called early and my number is only 41. I am devastated. They are trying to sound positive because I did test the day early and I guess I'll know more on Monday.
My hands are shaking and I am so upset. I now have to call my DH.
I don't even want to go through this day let alone the weekend.
I can't believe this!
I don't mean to bring you guys down but I am so PISSED!!!!

itsgottawork - I know the number is not that high and I know I would freak out, too. But I did some research for you and you really should not freak out!!! It is still early. How many days are you past ER? Look below on some Betas I found on another web site:

"11dp3dt 91
14dp3dt 331
18dp3dt 2,999
I am currently 10 weeks pg and we want to be surprised about the sex."

"My first beta was at 15dpo: 58
2nd beta at 18dpo: 228
first u/s this fri*!!!!"

"11 or 12dpo 25, 3 days later 98
I am 36w4d pg with a baby girl"

"13dpiui-13---kind of low!
15dpiui-25
And we went on to have a healthy pg and baby!"

"My beta numbers were as follows:
1st - 61
2nd - 115
3rd - 393
4th - 1374
We're thinking somewhere between the 3rd and 4th is when one of my eggies divided giving us triplets. They wouldn't stop the betas until we reached over 1000. We're now 17 wks and maternal instinct tells me it's a little boy, but we won't get to find out until our u/s next week, and that's if the baby cooperates and shows us what they need to see."

"11dp3dt 17
14dp 51
18dp 449
u/s 2 6w3d saw one sac and heartbeat."

I also read the following: Some normal pregnancies will have quite low levels of HCG - and deliver perfect babies. Caution must be used in making too much of HCG "numbers". Ultrasound findings after 5-6 weeks of pregnancy are much more predictive of pregnancy outcome than are HCG levels.

HANG IN THERE!!!! I know it is tough, but you have a Beta!! Anything can happen over the next few days!!!!! :)

itsgottawork - ok, I found more! See below:

Someone wrote:
"Just wanted to give a little encouragement. A very good friend of mine's first beta was 5.5 and her second, two days later, was 11. I'm not sure on what days those tests were taken, but she ended up with twin girls. So, you can end up with a healthy pregnancy even when you start out with low numbers".

Also, see the following:
At 14 DPO, avg HCG level is 48 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 17-119 mIU/ml.
At 15 DPO, avg HCG level is 59 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 17-147 mIU/ml.
At 16 DPO, avg HCG level is 95 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 33-223 mIU/ml.

Hi TinaO -
Thanks for the words of encouragement. Now I am definitely cursing myself for taking those HPTs because the level certainly hasn't doubled since I started taking those.
But, you are right, I am not doomed yet. I am going to try to get back in a positive mindset. 41 isn't horrible. Technically, it is still in the normal range and I need to keep reminding myself of that. The nurse wasn't that pessimistic either so I know I need to hang in there. I am just disappointed that it wasn't just a cut and dry great number. I think I'd rather a straight on negative compared to a failed positive.
I will not think about that yet though. We are going to hopefully book our January trip this weekend and I will just focus on that until Monday!
Thanks again!
And, good luck to everyone!

BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I actually got the news while I was at the Dr's getting an u/s for the hyper stim. I was telling my nurse about the positive HPTs & she said, "oh, if you're not too sore from the OHSS, maybe we can do an internal u/s to see if we can see anything!" I, of course, said sure!!! So, when she left the room to let me get undressed, not even ten seconds later there was a knock at the door telling me ,"Stay dressed! I have good news for you! Your b/w came back positive!!!!" My Beta was 86, which is low compared to some of you girls, but they told me anything over 25 is pregnant! She said that at 86 she most likely wouldn't be able to detect anything anyway.

itsgottawork - stay positive! Were you told that you had a negative result??

I go back for b/w on Sunday! Hoping that my number shoots straight up! They will still continue to monitor me very closely with the hyper stim, my b/w for that came back fine today - although the follicles filled with fluid in my ovaries have not really gone down in size that much. Their advice to me is NO strenuous activity! Well, that's subjective! I'm an elementary art teacher! I'm constantly running around my room! Looks like I'll have to do a lot of "sit-down-teaching" for a while!

dancinnancy - :D CONGRATULATIONS!!! :D
I am glad you got a great number and that your OHSS is getting better. I hope you can find a way to take it easy the rest of the day. Definitely teach from the seat! :) And, then go home and CELEBRATE!!! :D

Are we just waiting to hear from Jane Doe and 4ourbaby now? I can't wait to hear everyone's numbers!!!

I am feeling a little better. It is nice to hear that anything over 25 is pregnant. It will be much better on Monday where I truly know where I stand. Right now, I feel I have gone from "pregnant until proven otherwise" to "pregnant at the moment" and hopefully Monday I will just be "pregnant!"
