Hi guys

Got my 6 week scan date today as clinic are finally happy with my hcg levels!!!- it's 2 December in the morning. at least I can relax until Monday 1st December now and don't have to wait for those horrible hcg level phonecalls again. Strange that mine is before yours, Annette and Lisa as you tested a couple of days before me? Is yours a week 8 scan?

Hopefully dh will manage to be out of hospital and fit to travel up to London by then as he is going in to have his gall bladder removed on 28 November, it is key-hole surgery though so they are only keeping him in 1 night. Those of you who were following the OCB thread will remember dh had pancreatitis mid-way through my cycle and was in hospital for 10days. What a rollercoaster that all was, with me dashing off to sniff in the hospital toilets!!! Well they had to wait for 6 weeks for the pancreas to calm down before they could remove the gall bladder (which caused it). Funny though, they often say that the really difficult cycles where things do go wrong (delays, crises etc) are the ones that produce the results and it is certainly true in my case.

Lisa - did get my first bout of nausea this morning but luckily didn't hoik up! This is very early though, as most people don't get it until week 6 or 7 if at all. Some people don't feel nauseous at all ever. beckym xxx

Hi

I think if Phil comes over that will make 3 of us having a first scan on the 4th Dec, myself, Annette and Phil. Beckym I think your clinic are just checking that everything seems to be going okay and then give you a date for a scan (how did you get yours so quickly???) My clinic don't do any further tests after a pos/neg result. Hope the nausea was a one off! and hope dh recovers quickly he has been through the mill poor thing.

How long are you all waiting before you tell people. I feel like saying it aloud all day.

Take care
Lisa xx

hi all, many thanks for the lovely warm welcome. i posted a message and question just before i'd read this. i got a postive on monday and didn't dare log in here until now. is that odd!! i have never been more happy to join a new gang (thanks becky)!

it feels fantastic to get over this hurdle doesn't it!

lisa, you're right my 1st baby scan is dec 4, so with you and annette. i had one on the day of my result but that was to check my uterus as i've had an ectopic previously, apparently the uterus can show signs if something is wrong early stages. uterus was ok Thank God. (im trying not to think beyond that.)

becky, best wishes to dh for 28th (it's my birthday that day and quite a big milestone). keyhole surgery is amazing. he'll be up and about in no time, might be sore but i'm sure he'll be ok for the 2nd.

here's to everyone having a fantastic pregnancy.

phil xxx

Hi all,

Beckym-- yes my scan is an 8wk. scan, wish my clinic did a 6wk.!!!!!(it seems like 8wks will never get here.)Becky this may sound silly, but you mentioned about starting a first trimester THREAD.. What is that???

Have not felt any sort of sickness or nausea at all. Guess thats good, sometimes I wish I'd feel something!

Phil -- if its not too difficult to talk about, I would like to know about your ectopic before. As I also had one my previous cycle. I had no idea that they could check you so early for another one. I am 6wks. today and noone has ever mentioned that to me before. I worry every day about having another one. I didn't find out last time until it got really bad, so of course I am so nervous this time. When did you find out last time??

Hope all is well with everyone else!

Annettexx 6wks

Annette

a thread is what we call the posts/messages - so a first trimester thread is the post with the title, first trimester.

At 8 weeks you should be able to see quite a clear scan so that will be exciting. I go for my first scan on the same day then I am travelling down south for a christmas ball, so here's praying that everything is okay.

Lisa x
