Congratulations to all August momma's:
I was hesitant to join and come over to the other side until I completed my third beta test. (Beta#1 @ 30, Beta#2 @ 66, Beta#3 @ 413)
I have failed a few clomid and inseminations in the past few years and DH and I tried IVF for the first time with success, but still hesitant to even believe we are pregnant due to all the other disappointments.
But we are officially pregnant and just wanted to say I loved reading everyone's stories and confirming what I was feeling or how my body was reacting. It has been an incredible souce of comfort and support even if I was a silent observer.
My progesterone level was low on the first beta test and I was placed on a an oral supplement along with my suppository of progesterone. Now I am at normal levels.
I have been reading all your levels and they seem extremely high (but wonderful!) and mine seem so small but I think a singleton.
My due date is August 28th and my first ultrasound is on December 31st for my 6 week checkup to see how many sacs there are.
BTW I had a wonderful scare since my girlfriend who we visited recently, her daughter had "fifth disease" and she was being tested because she is pregnant and her doctor told me to get tested too. But my doctor didn't seem concerned due to the fact that the baby was in the non-contagious stage when I saw her and I did not get any of the symptoms. Talk about being nervous and my poor friend who had to tell me after trying for 6 years and finally being pregnant. My heart went out to my girlfriend for having to tell me, but I didn't think it was serious, nor did my doctor.
Like some of you, I told family and close friends. I only told the ones that would be there for me if something went wrong. Don't feel ashamed or as if you are jinxing it. They are your support system and they will be the ones to send out the prayers. Plus the magic is gone, they know that this is a science project and not a natural conception so the magic went out of this for us.
Congrats again and I look forward to going through this with all of you!
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
