Hi Chris,

Are you doing IVF or IUI? If the later then ignore my blurb. If you are doing IVF, it sounds like you are on the short protocol or the flare protocol, which is exactly what I am on.

In that case you should not worry about what you count as day 1. My doc said to count day 1 as the day that proper flow starts, and to ignore spotting. I think that you should count Sunday as day 1. In the end it doesn't matter too much as stimms only start after you have dereg (lining should be thin) - I had a day 3 scan. In case you are not going for a scan, its probably better to be on the safe side and count tomorrow as day 4. Sometiimes if a clinic wants to delay your ER and ET dates for whatever reason, they ask you to start stimms even later.

Hope you found that helpful. I am just waiting for AF (hopefully this weekend) to start my next round too. So feel free to share any thoughts.

Hey Angie,

Look what I found about HCG beta levels on a health website:

Normal HCG blood levels vary widely between different women and in different pregnancies for the same woman. Be very careful when trying to 'interpret the numbers'. During the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, the level itself is NOT as important in how much it is rising every few days. Some normal pregnancies will have quite low HCG levels and still progress, ending in the birth of a healthy baby. The best way to confirm if a pregnancy is progressing is to repeat the blood test in 2 to 3 days time, and perhaps again 2 to 3 days after that. This is aimed at seeing if the HCG level is rising adequately.

Hope this helps you feel a bit more at ease hun.

By the way, I couldn't help but read the discussion about your little group on face book  . I have just set up an account. As I've seen a few of you mention names here, I found you (or I think I have :? ) and added you as friends. Thought I'd let you know here in case you think I'm some sore of mad stalker.
