Good evening all...I had my consult today and RE said that he was going to try 2 different things this cycle. First, he is planning on starting stims out at lower dosage and stim a day or so longer in an attempt to grow better quality eggs.(Anyone ever here of this as way of producing better quality eggs?) Secondly, he will perform ICSI to force fertilization of all my retrieved eggs in hopes of having more make it to day 5 :D :D :D We scheduled my hysteroscopy and mock transfer for next Wednesday. RE stated b/c it had been more then 6 months (just by 22 days), that we needed to do it again to insure no changes with my uterus and all. I trust him....he is the expert  I am also going to start taking prenatals.

I know I am writing late, but me and DH are big movie buffs and we go all the time...we just got home from seeing "Meet the Spartans". It was silly and stupid  ...but overall funny. Sorry that this was off topic....

Hope everyone is doing well and will talk to you all later.
Take care,
Jill

Its been a few days since my last post here. Hope everyone is doing great. I had a very eventful week. I got my baseline ultrasound and was given an OK for proceeding with IVF this cycle. Got a complete calendar with tentative ER/ET dates - ER 02/26 and ET 02/29 and I will be starting my lupron shots next thursday. I went for the injection training also, we had to give ourselves real shots (ofcourse water only, no medication) for practice!!!! If anyone else is as scared as I was, I would like to report that it really wasn't that bad (no guarantees that my answer won't change if you ask me again after several weeks!!). The IM hurt a bit more than the subq. Also I finally told my boss so that he won't be surprised to hear about my doc appts every other day! Thankfully that went well and he was very nice and supportive about it.

BTW is anyone else on the same ER/ET schedule as I am?

Have a great weekend! Talk to you all soon.

Morning!!

Indie - Good to hear that you got the ok. There's nothing more nerve racking than waiting to hear how it all went. THat's great news. If my schedule stays on track I will have my ER 2/23ish and ET 2/26ish. We all know how things can change but I'm in your general time line as well. I havent' gone for the class yet. Not to worried about giving myself a shot.. it's the not forgetting or taking them at the right times.

I'm sure we'll all do fine!

*HUGS*

Hello Ladies
I hope you all don't mind if I join the group. It was really great to stumble accross this site and know that there are other people out in the world that will understand every emotion I go through in the next month or two. This is our first IVF so we are excited and nervous and...lots of different things all at once. I was given my tentative calender for meds etc and at the moment my ER is set for 27 Feb, with ET being 3 or 5 days later. Yippee. I hope that everyone is having a lovely relaxing weekend. Thanks

Welcome kiwijoy!!! :D :D :D

This board is great!!! It's helpful because they let you vent, they know what you are going through and it's a good source to find some answers. I also like it because there's a little bit of everything on here so it's nice to be able to get someone who is actually going through what you are going through and maybe get some real life feedback on meds, protocals, etc.

Hi Girls, I am currently on my 2WW but was reading your post. It really helps sometimes to read the previous months posts for tips and encouragement. I usually post on the Jan/Feb cycle buddies but always checked out the Dec/Jan one for tips since this is our first IVF experience. I also wanted to say you are all very brave women and I wish you all BFPs! Sometimes this whole thing is quite overwhelming, needles, schedules, u/s, b/w, number of follies, etc. Luckily for this board there is never TMI!

Let me tell you hun, my experience with the SS was a nightmare, i threw up and passed out from the extreme pain.

The ER on the otherhand was a Breeze. I was out like a light, I was groggy for a bit when they woke me up and slept all day. I felt fine the next day and then the next evening when the meds wore off I had alot of discomfort and some cramping but it was still NOTHING compared to the SS.

If i laid around I felt ok but if i tried to walk up steps or something it was difficult. Overall the experience with ER was really good IMO. I know the day of the ET i was still in a little discomfort and cramping but I was given another strong pain reliever right before the transfer which relieved all of it.

The ET there was absolutely NO discomfort or pain for me at all. It was a breeze just as simple as an IUI. (If you've done one). And then afterwards everything is fine too. Your suppose to Bedrest that day and the following day you can be back up and at em. :)

Hope this was helpful, let me know if you have any other questions! :D

HEY ALL I'M NEW TO THIS SITE

Post by keita1981 »

i'm 26 and dh 27. we had 4 pregnancies and lossed all of them. one was chemical (first clomid cycle). the next was presumed ectopic (2nd clomid cycle). jan 2007 (3rd clomid cycle) found out i was pregnant and everything looked great except nothing on u.s. it was an ectopic. On a natural cycle got pregnant again dec 2007 and another ectopic. had surgery to remove both my tubes. so ivf is our only hope. no other problems w/ me and dh. my tubes was it and now they're gone, so i'm hoping to a successful IVF cycle in feb/march. I have read up on some of the things you ladies have been through. I see you all are a great group of women as well and i hope to join you, if you would have me.
I should be starting AF from now until Wednesday. not sure when exactly. when she starts of course i will go in for my cd3 baseline to determine what my protocol will be. so I can't wait. I'm sure it will be the long protocol (lupron protocol). i respond very well to ovarian stimulation...just hope i don't hyperstimulate.
me/26 & dh/27 ttc since 2005 pit. tumor taking bromocriptine. Tubal IF. m/c on 11/06 natural. 01/07 ectopic preg, 12/07 another ectopic & both tubes removed. ER 3/12/08, ET 3/15/08 2 perfect 8-celled embabies transfered. test date 3/28/08. 1 TOTSICLE.

Welcome to those of you who are new.

We have our "informational, pre-cycle" visit with our doc tomorrow, so I was surprised when I got my calendar in the mail yesterday. Seeing as how this is our first time, I must admit that several words come to mind when I looked at that thing....daunting, confusing and yeah, painful!

Anway, if all goes as planned our tentative ER is 2/20 or so and our ET will be 5 days later (according to this - I guess they do 5 day blasts). I will be on Lupron, Dexamethasone, Follistim and Menopur. I haven't heard any of you other ladies talk about a steriod pill (Dexamethasone)...anyone have any info on that? I know what it is b/c DH had to take it before his surgery. Let's just hope that my moods don't swing as much as his did!

We will know more tomorrow, but I wanted to fill everyone in. I'm super excited!!

Hi all!!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I was looking over our protocol and wow.. it's alot to remember and keep track of. I feel as though I live there and we haven't really gotten into the good things. Just hoping that things go well and ER/ET are smooth sailing.

Mrs. G... I am SOOO Glad that you had the same issues I had with the SS. I was beginning to think that I was the only one. Made me feel like a wimp. When I read that they do the ET with a cath.. I was almost in tears thinking I had to feel all that over again. My entire body got soooo hot from the pain I couldn't think straight. *HUGS* Thanks for letting me know I wasn't alone.

Cathann.. Looks like you are a few days before me. We're currently set for 2/23 ER and 2/26 ET. We all know that can change but that's what we're looking at today LOL!

Keita..... HI!!! Welcome to our little comfort spot on the web. I have to say this is also my 1st IVF and I've felt so much better just being able to share with all these wonderful women. You'll see it's a sigh of relief. VERY good to have you with us. *HUGS* Chin up.. This is OUR year!

*HUGS* Night all! See you tomorrow! I get my drugs Tuesday.. I know you're all jealous.. Don't worry.. you'll get your own soon enough LMAO!

Welcome to all the new ladies who joined over the weekend!

I see alot of you get "calendars" w/ your protocol, ER/ET dates...I haven't got those yet or maybe my clinic doesn't provide them??
I go for bloodwork Thurs. to be sure I've ovulated and will start Lupron the next morning (I think)...then wait for AF...

If I count it out on my own my E/R would be somewhere along 2/23 if I'm lucky or more like 2/25 with E/T 3 days later...

I just got an email from overseas to be in England 4/8...if I get a BFP I am not traveling...how am I going to hold off on committing to attending this meeting? I am not ready to tell my boss much at all...he is in NYC and I'm in Boston and I get all my u/s and bwork done at 7am so I'm not even late for work so there was no reason I had to tell him anything...

I think I'll hold off as long as I can - ughhh another added stress!

I just want to get STARTED....I'm at my wits end waiting...

acupuncture went great Saturday w/ a new guy....I have good thoughts about him and the benefits...

Hi Everyone!
We are back from vacation now. It was nice to get away from the cold but unfortunately, my husband got the flu while we were away and now he is sick in bed. Ugh! I hope our luck changes soon.
IrishHope - I think we might be going to the same clinic. Or, at least I am going to a branch. I can take place in the progesterone study you mentioned earlier. Although, last time I was chosen for the injection group. :( In that group, I did injections until the beta test and if that stayed positive, I could have switched to the gel.
I haven't gotten a calendar either. I go in 2/8 for bloodwork then start Lupron the 9th, do that for 10 days and then the stims. They don't like to give any additional dates, just a range when I keep asking for something. It is definitely frustrating when others have real dates to work with.
Good luck with work!

Good luck and baby dust to all!

Good morning ladies, and welcome newbies! I quickly read through everyone's posts...but geez it's hard to keep track. My mistake for not getting on the computer all weekend. It sounds like everyone's gettin' there now. It is very exciting to get the calendar and see the timelines. Well...wishing everyone the best here. I am happy to report that I started lupron this morning. Yay! I'm so happy to be back in the game. :D Although the lupron gave me terrible headaches last time, so I'm already dreading that. ER/ET should be the week of 2/18!

hugs and babydust to all!

itsgottawork - wow sounds like we might be at the same place...I get the sense they sort of like to "run the show" and keep us posted with information but not too much! ughhhh...did you get decent information during monitoring during your "stim" phase? I am anxious to know if my eggs grow well or not...I hope they give me some idea one way or another...

you won't be too far behind me...lets hope for BFP for all of us!!
