Hi guys

Have managed to arrange to transfer my scans to the antenatal clinic at the hospital I have just come out of under the same consultant who looked after me last week and in March when I last had ohss. This will be the hospital that I have the baby at so seemed sensible as they also have an EPU. Feel so much better for having arranged this as I have a lot of confidence in the radiogrphers there as she was able to see a h/b from the outside plus the foetal pole. ARGC seem to understand - I just said I wasn't well enough to go up to London at the moment. Hopefully things will get better from now on. Seeing everyone talking about seeing the h/b on the first scan, I feel sort of cheated that my first scan was ruined cos the doctor didn't try hard enough to look at the sac. On my last scan, when she def confirmed that she could see the flickering, I have to admit I was in such a lot of pain (combination of the ohss plus having to have a full bladder) that I didn't really pay much attention to looking for the flicker. I wish that I'd asked her to point it out so that I could see it, but was so scared at the time that I would pee all over the couch if I waited any longer!!! So I haven't actually seen it myself yet. My next scan is on Monday and I am praying that it will be drama free so that I can at last start to enjoy this pregnancy.

vicki - glad your scan went well. must be a huge relief for you.

phil - my morning sickness is also increasing - not being physically sick but just ongoing nausea for pretty much most of the day. you're right that the only thing to do is eat little and often. things which seem to keep my nausea at bay are ginger nuts, S&V crisps, satsumas, cheese and vegetable soup. it's the 3-5am start that gets me!! my cat is bewilderd as I am up so early munching away. guess this is a good sign that everything is doing wht it should do, so musn't grumble!!

beckymxxx

Hi

have been to see my GP today, he thinks it may be a water infection so had to take a sample to the hospital. He couldn't give me anything though but feel so much better today, went back to work.

Beckym - I was told to put my hands into fists and turn them sideways under your bottom and push up. That was when my clinic found the heartbeats they looked for a little while. Good idea going to the clinic where you are having the baby. Let us now how Monday goes.

Vicki - great news about your scan, its so wierd isn't it, you just can't quite believe they are in there.

Phil - hope the sickness isn't to bad, do ginger snaps help?

Dolly and Annette - how are you doing? hope you are okay.

Dagney - does time seem to be going quicker for you? hope your sickness is subsiding.

Take care
Love Lisa xx

Hi Guys - hope you're all well.

Lisa, glad to hear your feeling better today. I think it is natural to be neurotic when you are in so much pain - you automatically fear the worst.

Vicki, I bet it must be very exciting to see a heartbeat.

Becky, I'm glad you have managed to transfer to the antenatal clinic especially if that is the hospital where you'll be having the baby. It is important to have confidence in the people who are looking after you.

Phil, hope you're feeling better today.

Well, I go in for my scan tomorrow morning - I don't know if I am looking foward to or dreading it! I havn't been feeling so sick over the last couple of days and my boobs arn't as sore as they have been - but I am trying not to read anything into it! Not long to wait now!

Love to everyone

Dolly

Hi all,

Lisa-- everything is going great! Thanks for the concern..

DH and I were released from our invitro clinic last week after our 8wk. scan(what a weird and scary feeling that was). We went to our first real doctors(OBGYN) appt. yesterday- so we got to see the heartbeats again!! That was reassuring (wish I could go once a week). Our doctor said everything looks great and had a LONG talk with me about being nervous and causing myself more stress!! Its very hard to relax after 4 times of invitro and one ectopic! He said that this pregnancy is going to fly by and that I'm going to miss out on enjoying this precious experience with all my worring!! BOY HE COULD REALLY TELL HOW I WAS FEELING!!

I truely am going to try to relax now though- He said at this point I have less than a 1% chance of m/c.. That seems lower than what I've heard in the past..

Hope everyone else is doing well,

Annette xx
8wks 5days (twins)
Hi Annette

Great news that all is well with you and twins. Your doctor is right in saying don't worry because it won't do you or your babies any good, but it is easier said than done I know as we wouldn't be human if we didn't worry. I worry ALL the time and would love a scan every week, we haven't heard our babys heart beat yet and am desperate to.

Hello to everyone else, how are you all doing?

Take care and keep on smilin'

Love Dagny (13wks 1days pg)

Hi Lisa

I am not having a scan until Feb 19th 2004!! I can't wait that long. I have made an appointment to see my midwife next Tues the 23rd. I am hoping that I will be able to listen to the hearbeat then. I am going down to Devon for Christmas and I want to set my mind at ease that everything is ok with the baby and can relax a bit.

I haven't been back to work since September when I had my treatment because of all the problems I have had with the bleeding and liver function. The docs told me not to work until I was 13 weeks and the school where I work broke up just after so I am going back in Jan. I don't feel sick much now just the odd times but I am still very tired but that is part and parcel of PG.

I have been wondering where Beckym has got to as well.

Hope everybody is fine and having fun getting ready for xmas. Take care.

Love Dagny x
14wks 1d pg

[Edited by Dagny on 18-Dec-03 02:27]

Hello everybody in the 'First Trimester Gang'

I just wanted to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and New Year too. We have all been through a very bumpy 2003 and hopefully 2004 will be our best year yet full of excitement and trepidation but our dreams will become reality. I only wish our fellow friends Beckym and Dolly could be here with us. My heart and prayers are with them both and I wish them all the luck and fortunes they deserve for 2004. Good luck to anyone having scans this week.

Lisa, I am quite nervous about my appointment tomorrow. I am praying that we get to hear the heartbeat loud and clear. Yes I have met my midwife and she is very nice but she is leaving in a few weeks which is annoying so I have to meet the new one in the new year. I hope she is as nice as the present one.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL - Be good and have fun!

Lots of love Dagny x

[Edited by Dagny on 22-Dec-03 10:07]

hi all, hope everyone is doing well.

lisa, i had my scan on thursday. baby is growing, almost an inch big (someone so tiny can cause such sickness - unbelieveable!)and the heartbeat is strong. i'll admit i was really seriously nervous right up to hearing the heartbeat again, then what a relief.

we finally got out today for shopping. i've not been housebound but felt so bad i couldn't deal with crowds, choosing stuff etc so hadn't done anything at all. lisa, hope you managed to get yours sorted.

dagny, hope your scan went well.

annette, vicki - how you doing?

we're due to get some more new folks on here soon, jen, helen, jules, hope i haven't missed anyone....

well hope you're all ready for xmas because it was bl..dy madness out there today. keep well everyone.

phil x

hi all, hope everyone had a good xmas and happy new year. we were away at friends in yorkshire and had a great time. thankfully nausea eased by xmas eve so i could eat. must admit i haven't missed alcohol at all.

dagny, how was devon, did you have your scan?

annette, haven't heard from you in a while. hope all is well.

lisa, pleased to hear that your feeling ok. can you imagine feeling yuk with all the xmas festivities and food going on....,

traci, vicki, hope your both well.

when do you girls count your pregnancy from? it's a bit odd because we all know exactly when we conceived so from that date i'm actually 8 wks. the doc's and midwife all talk in terms of 40 wks preganancy and so with them i'm 10 wks. anyway, i'm due july 27th, is that the same as you lisa?

it's really sad to get more bad news about rachael this time. i really hope and pray that 2004 brings blessings to all the girls that have been through so much pain.

keep well everyone, here's to 2004 being our best year yet.

phil x
