Thanks all for the AF "cheers"...still waiting! I was told if she didn't come by Day 14 on Lupron (which will be Friday) to call adn "they'll see what's going on"...I just hope I can get in early Friday/they get my results and I can start...please don't make me go thru another entire weekend!!
itsgottawork - glad to hear DH is 99% back to normal!! One hurdle you've jumped...we are not freezing a sample prior to ER. It's our first cycle so my RE hasn't mentioned anything about that and since my husband checked out "normal" maybe that's why...
kbat - good luck! Please push ahead...do not let this Nurse Negative stand in your way...push thru her...!!!
Kudos to all of you who have the guts to inject yourself...I am still having DH do my Lupron...I will take any "injection" with no issue...still can't look at a needle without getting dizzy so I give you all alot of credit...I'm not saying "I'll never do it" just not right now...
oh and the Lupron...anyone else totally psycho? Maybe it is just my Irish Temper being messed w/ but oooh boy...lets just say Saturday my poor DH and doggy thought they were living w/ Cybil...
IrishHope - sending AF wishes your way - I know how that feels to be waiting for that just so you can start - it happened to me last cycle.
itsgottawork - so happy DH is feeling better. I am sure that will help you be more relaxed for this cycle - which is stressful enough by itself!
kbat - I am happy the insurance issue worked out - that is always such a pain that these nameless people can decide our fate for us - they likely have no idea what we are going through!
Welcome to the newcomers and good luck to all the stimmers!! I promise the shots get easier - or at least you get used to doing it.
As for me, went for blood and scan on Saturday and everything looked fine so I started shots and Clomid Saturday night. Our house is like a pharmacy - DH and I are both on an antibiotic, I am taking Clomid, dexamethasone (for my PCOS), Medrol and pre-natals, plus the shots - I can barely keep track of it all. The stupid Menopur shots are causing a reaction again - makes my skin all red and irritated. Oh well, hopefully it will all be worth it! Estimated ER is 2/18-2/20.
LB.. why are you on CLomid?? I thought with IVF they didn't use Clomid?

Jenis - I have never taken Clomid before and didn't with first cycle. I think it is because my first cycle, I had 30+ follicles and only 1 egg - RE thinks I have an underlying problem with my ovaries, which is also why I don't get AF - basically I don't ovulate naturally. So he told me he was changing the protocol this time to try to get me some of my own eggs - if it doesn't work this time, we are on to donors. So I think it is because of my unusual circumstance that he is including Clomid this time.
RunnerKate ~ My Follistim comes in vials. The Menopur is a powder in a vial. It comes with a dilutant, but instead of using that you use the Follistim. So, just draw the Follistim into a syringe and then put it in the Menopur vial to dissolve it. Easy. Those still sting a little...I may try one in the leg and see what happens.
So far I've been pretty even keeled. I keep waiting for some random outburst (either temper or tears) but it hasn't happened yet. I even managed to watch most of Ole Yeller without incident. (NOPE, could NOT watch the end....I knew better!)
I freak myself out every time I look at a calendar. Do you girls (esp Kate & others who are close to ER) realize that our dates are NEXT WEEK??!? I can't decide if I'm excited, thrilled or terrified. I'm trying to take every day at a time, but when it looms so close.....
Hope everyone had a great weekend! Best wishes & baby dust to all! AF vibes to those who need it!

02/08 thru 02/24 - BCP
02/25 - bloodwork and US
02/27 Begin microdose Lupron every 12 hours
02/29 - begin Gonal F and Menopur in addition to microdose Lupron
03/07 - BW and US and probably every day or every other day until ER
03/12 - approximate ER
03/15 - 03/17 approximate ET
Has anyone else done the microdose Lupron protocol? I did the long Lupron protocol the first time and only got 4 mature eggs, so we are trying this to get more eggs.
I just wanted to say that if anyone needs some inspiration, you have to check out the Jan/Feb cycle buddies thread. They have a list going with almost 30 women and I think 13 have had their beta. I was the only BFN, everyone else is BFP. I am very happy for all of them. I wish I could have made it unanimous, but it is inspiring to see all the BFP's.
Mrs. G - I am sorry about your BFN. I know how you feel and it is devastating. I am hoping you get AF as soon as possible, so you can get the show on the road again. I got my bad news last Monday and had AF by Wednesday. Hoping the same quickness for you.
JustJenis - The first shots are very intimidating. Now, after having done a cycle, the SQ shots are pretty easy to me. My DH does most of them, but if he is not available I will do them myself. The IM shots are a bit more tricky, but I did get used to them as well. My first "trigger" show, I cried the whole time my DH was getting it ready. I was so afraid of the IM shot, but it did not even hurt. The PIO shots did not hurt too much being administered, but the day after, I was pretty sore and swollen.
I hope everyone is doing well and I am glad to be here on this thread with you all.

kbear- it is good to see you pumped up, I will pray so hard that you get your BFP! Fingers crossed! You deserve it! please keep us posted on how you are doing!
RIO - Thanks, I have adopted the attitude, that I am choosing to be the windshield, not the bug. I read the Jan/Feb everyday and I am just thrilled for all the BFP's. I really feel this is my time, so I am going to keep a PMA!

She's here! AF just reared her ugly but this month "welcome" head!!
Blood work/ultrasound at 7am tomorrow...if all checks out ok I start Gonal F tomorrow evening!
Cathann/RunnerKate - next week!! sooo exciting!!
kbear4211 - great attitude! glad you joined us - welcome!
remember to "be kind to yourself" thru this...I found/find myself letting negative things creep in my head and I was telling my acupuncturist about stuff I think/feel and he simply said..."be kind to yourself"...so now I say that every time I feel down/negative...it helps me so I thought I'd pass it along...this road is bouncy enough
Have a good night all and lots of positive vibes and baby dust to all!!
kbear4211 - glad to see that you have started your next cycle. Hang in there.. I am praying for BFPs for everyone in this group!
Its been an eventful weekend for me. AF is here, I also went in for my u/s and bw this morning. The u/s looked good but am waiting to hear about my blood test. Hopefully everything will be fine and I will start my stims on friday as scheduled.
IrishHope - hope AF comes your way soon so that you can get started with the next step!!
itsgottawork - glad to hear that DH is doing better and you have started your shots..My IVF coordinator did mention the option of taking a sperm sample a day prior to the ER just as a backup incase there was any trouble with collecting on the day of the ER. We have male factor also, but the coordinator said that the backup sperm was more relevant for someone who had trouble collecting in the past - so we have skipped this option.
Cathann, JustJenis, RunnerKate - good luck with the stims! I am so excited that you guys will be doing ER next week!
Hoping for BFPs for everyone!

Well, things are running very smoothly. Got AF right on time today. i called my nurse at about 10 ish and got voice mail. Left a lengthy message--basically saying that I got AF and that I shouldn't have to do day 3 test as I got insurance approval letter on Friday, it's been more than 8 weeks since methotraxite shot, I have my meds, I have AF and is there any chance that we can start cycle w/ this AF since we don't know if we'll have the same insurance in March. I got a call back and they said it was ok (see I told you I worry about nothing!). I go in for b/w and u/s tomorrow a.m. (my birthday). I couldn't get the earliest appointment, but did get an 8 am appointment, so I won't be too late for work.
I will probaby start taking clomid tomorrow night, and I will probably start gonal-f on Wed.
I'm on my way. Glad everything worked out o.k. This is my last hope so hoping that this stuff working out is a good sign.
yahoo!! The RE's office just called and my blood work looks fine so I am all set to start stimming this friday! Can't wait to give myself 3 shots a day !

Indie- congrats on the stimming. I wish I had your attitude!!!
kbat- so happy AF came today and that you are all set to start. What a wonderful Birthday present!!!
Irishhope- it's great that gonal will start.
Jenis- let me know how the class goes. i think you said it is tonight.
Sorry that I was missing in action this weekend. I felt like I was at the peak of the roller coaster just before the downhill part. My mentality is still lingering somewhere around there. I am full of anxiety, but I am working it out.
my update- I start Lupron on wed. and take until 2/22 I continue the bcp til 2/17. My ER is set for sometime around 3/2. So I am moving along. I don't know why I am having such a hard time with the anticipation of the shots.
Hi ladies,
I haven't posted anything in a while because I have just patiently been waiting for this cycle to begin. I finally got my calendar in the mail. I will start lupron on Friday. I am following the same protocol this time so I at least know what to expect. I will start Repronex and Follistim on the 3rd of March and my tentative dates for retrieval are March 12-14. I am much more relaxed this time around so hopefully that will help. I am glad to see that we are all getting started and some of you are so very close to the retrieval dates. How exciting!! I can't wait to start hearing about all of your BFPs. Good luck to all of you!!!!
