lots of stuff going on. Hard to believe how insensitive people are.... Went for b/w and u/s today and start taking clomid tonight. Tomorrow I start on gonal-f twice a day (300 units). Go back on Monday morning for u/s and blood work. We'll see how things go then.

Well, I am bummed. No RESOLVE for me tonight. We are having an ice storm here in DC and the traffic was WAY worse than usual. It took me 1.5 hours to get home and I left to go to the meeting and there was traffic in places I have NEVER seen traffic, so I decided that it would be better for me in the long run to stay home. It would have been really nice to be able to talk to other people about my questions, issues, etc., but oh well. That's why I have you gals, right???

You should all sign up for RESOLVE membership. It is a non-profit that raises $$ for infertility research, lobbies for support on the Hill, provides support groups, etc. It is the only organization of its kind that I have found. www.resolve.org

I go in tomorrow for my follow-up. On Day 6 of the stimming shots.

IrishHope: Thanks for the IVF calculator....If the IVF works this cycle, I would be having a Nov. baby (singleton)....I swore I never wanted to have kids in the winter....now I'll just be happy to have them whenever!

JustJenis: You are a fertility GODDESS. 10 follies on ONE side? I have 10 follies TOTAL on two sides!

KYW: You can do both...we can learn from you. There are a couple of us that will be ER/ET soon.

IndieRad: I use one of the freezer lunch bags, too for my shots when we go out...it would probably work for travel.

cathann: I am NOT going to try the thigh...I think I would have the same problem. However, I have found that bruises are GREAT for hubby sympathy (like I can possibly play that up any more with my hubby...he's a saint, kissing/supportive of every little thing I whine about)

LB: I have the same follicle problem...a little on the small side. They increased my Folliston by 50IU. I have read that slower development and smaller follies is better.

Itsgottawork: The nurse definitely should have been more understanding...my hubby was in the same sort of situation with a urologist's nurse...she was kind enough to list all the problems he might be needing to see a dr. for so that he wouldn't have to tell her (he was in a public place).

Kimbers312: are you in the mid-atlantic as well?

aims327: we will cheer you on! you can bounce back and forth b/w our group and the jan/feb group. you can answer all our questions about ER/ET.

pricecake: welcome! Hope this cycle works for you!

kbat: good luck. i totally hear you about insensitive people. f*ck 'em.

Another night of activity on this board!

Welcome aims327 & pricecake!! We have a great group here so hopefully you'll enjoy being with us.

one question has me freaked out - I saw a post yesterday saying to refrigerate your Lupron - my pharmacy said only my Gonal F needed to be in the fridge...then when I "Google" the question of course there are contradicting posts as well...my baseline u/sound and bloodwork all was fine so I started Gonal F last night so I guess the Lupron at room temp is not a big deal (fingers crossed).

We meet w/ our RE today at 1pm to go over some things...

During my ultrasound clearly one side I saw lots of follies and I swear I saw ZIP on my other side...I tried to play it "cool" so I didn't ask and now am torturing myself...who knows what I was looking at...I had no clue what my ovary looked like on a screen before so I'm hoping I can ask my doc today about yesterday's ultrasound...

so far Gonal F last night/this morning was fine...DH watched the video a few times and does well w/ the injections...on the count of 1-2-3 we have it down pretty well...

RunnerKate - thanks for the resolve info...I have heard of it like I said but will try and read up on it today!

Sunday 8am my bloodwork/u/sound to see how those "bad boys" are stimming...

my husband's joke of the wknd with all the Roger Clemens scandal was "let me inject you with HGH/Human Growth Hormones" cuz we're trying to grow a human"...I thought it was pretty funny...

Sieze the day girls...we are friggin' going to get BFPs!!!

Welcome aims & pricecake!

aims ~ GREAT ER!! Good luck tomorrow with your ET!!!

itsgottawork ~ man, why do some folks forget where they work and why people come to see them? That must have been SO frustrating for your DH. Hopefully, things will get better. That's a sticky situation with his co-worker. Some people just don't know when to quit.

kate ~ hope you have a good follow up today! Getting closer all the time!! My big 'ole bruise got me laughed at....not too much sympathy. But, that's just DH's personality....he's a big jokester. He's been very sweet and somewhat overprotective.

irish ~ not to worry you, but my Lupron came packaged in a separate iced container with a big sticker on it that said refrigerate. Maybe the way its mixed makes a difference?? I know that there are different dilutions, etc. LOVE your hubby's sense of humor! Don't worry too much about not seeing follies on one side. I swear it seems like I've had a ton of u/s and I still can't figure out exactly what they are lookin at! :)

Have a great day girls!!

I have been crying for 2 hours now....only have 6 follies on the one side and looks like nothing on the other side. Should I cancel this cycle? I am so upset.

oh RunnerKate...what do the dcotor/nurses say? Don't give up hope yet...see what they recommend...I am sorry I can't answer if you should cancel the cycle or not...let your doctor/you and DH decide that...so much can change over night...I thought as long as there were 4 follies they'd go ahead w/ IVF...I swear I read that someplace...

Hang in there sweetie!!! We are all sending good thoughts your way!!

RKate - yes I just "googled" and alot of stuff I see says a requirement of 3 or 4 follies...I'm sure every clinic/doctor has a number they go by but 6 seems ok? Did they tell you if they are maturing? Remember - "it only takes ONE"...

RunnerKate - I am so sorry to hear you are so upset. You have to remember that all you need is 1 good one to make a baby!!! So, 6 gives you a few extra just in case. I hope the doctors give you good news. I think hearing from the doctor will give you the best advice on how to proceed. You are only on day 6 so there is still room for more to grow. It took me 10 days on stims last time before my follies were ready and I remember the number of follies changed each time I went in for u/s. I hope you continue with stims and see where you are at in a couple more days. Good luck! You are in my thoughts and I wish you the best with this cycle!

Kimbers312 - I hope your first shot went well! Let us know how you did.

Kbat - Things are now moving so quickly for you! I hope all goes well with your injections today too!

Welcome aims327 and pricecake! Good luck with your ET aims327!

IrishHope - My Lupron said to refrigerate after opening. I guess that is to minimize the bacteria that can grow. But, it has also been said that we use this stuff so quickly that it doesn't have time to grow. I think some times people carry over the medication from cycle to cycle, in this case, I would think it would be more important to refrigerate. But, that shouldn't be the case anyway! Come on BFP!!!

Thanks, IrishHope.

I guess I will have to see what the RE says, but I only have 3 tries, so I don't want to waste any tries in sub-optimal conditions. Maybe we could just do an IUI.

Kate - I am sure you are frustrated, but I wouldn't give up - like the others said, your RE will decide. 6 is still a good number. My RE only got one egg last time and although they normally wouldn't fertilize just 1, they did because it was my only one. So don't give up hope!

IrishHope - I am sure your RE will tell you today, but I learned that you shouldn't be afraid to ask questions during the u/s - it's your body after all! The techs at my place are really nice and they turn the screen so I can see it and I always ask how big they are, what they are, etc. Basically, when they are looking at your ovaries, the follicles show up as black circles - round or oval. You can't miss them, especially when they get bigger.

Aims - great number fertilized! Best of luck with ET!
