stephanienj - I think the only shots after lupron/fsh/menopur are the trigger shot and then the progestrone shots - so all butt shots from there on! But I am sure you will do great.

cathann - thanks. I will try that trick next time. Best of luck with ER tomorrow. I am planning to take a few extra days off work between ER/ET - or atleast just work from home on my laptop.

Had my bloodwork this morning - nurse said they were looking for estradoil level. They will call me later this afternoon to tell me what the results were. I hope everything is moving in the right direction. For now I don't feel bloated or anything, but hope the meds are working :)

Its exciting to see so many doing ER/ET this week and next week. Hope we start seeing the BFP posts soon!

Cathann - I ditto stephaniej...thanks for syaing your trigger was not awful...I have a little fear surrounding it but it helps to hear yours went smoothly! Good luck tomorrow!!

My results from this morning are in - estrogen or estradol or whatever they are checkig is now a little over 1400 which teh nurse said is good. I have 12 follies ...some smaller ones as well that may catch up and be viable. She said I'm getting close and E/R may be Thursday!!!

as far as rest I'll rest day of retrieval and am more concerned with taking time off after transfer...hoping something falls on a weekend!

Good luck all!!!

I just looked.. and my trigger shot isn't a butt shot. It's a small needle one.. aka thigh or tummy. I don't do butt ones till Progest time. Can't be any worse than having BOTH arms blown out. I gotta tell ya.. my arms are so sore from the blood work each day. BUT it's worth it cause the follies are growing and I'm looking ER on Friday!!!!

Ok - hope my calendar is helpful and again, feel free to make any changes.

Kate and cornybaby - I hope things went well today and that you are feeling ok.

Cathann - best of luck tomorrow!!

Aims - thinking of you in the 2ww!!

Stimmers - hope all is moving along. Jenis, so glad to see things have picked up.

As for me, it was a rough weekend. I went for blood and scan on Saturday and the RE did it himself. The same thing is happening again, I have tons of follicles (literally over 20 on each side, so over 40 follicles) but because of that I am at a huge risk for OHSS and can't trigger with hcg. This is what happened last time and I triggered with Lupron instead and only got 1 egg. RE is afraid of this happening again, so he mentioned we might have to stop this cycle and that I will need to have another laproscopic surgery for ovarian drilling so they can "pop" the cysts from my PCOS.

He had me not do any meds for Saturday night, Sunday or this morning, and then I went again today and he scanned me. My follicles have grown even without the meds, so we are still moving forward. He said he was going to call a friend of his at another clinic to see what he would do - he wants to give me hcg but is really afraid I will get sick. I got medicine instructions for tonight so we are continuing so far, and if it goes forward looks like ER will be Thursday or Friday - I go back tomorrow so hopefully will know for sure then if we are moving forward. This can be so frustrating sometimes!! Looks like I will have to have the drilling done at some point anyway. Will update tomorrow - sorry for the long post!

Hello Hello Ladies! Thanks so much for all your well wishes.

I had my ER yesterday. They got all 6 eggs from the 6 follicles AND I found out that all 6 fertilized, so YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! I am so anxious to hear about how they are progressing. My RE doesn't give us much info about #cells, grade of the eggs, etc., but the nurse seems to think that everything is going well. I will find out on Wed. if they are going to do a Day 3 or Day 5 transfer. The RE says that I have a 70% chance of this working out and a 25-30% chance of twins. The ER itself wasn't bad at all. The 1 valium totally knocked me out. The nurses couldn't believe I only took 1 valium (they called me a "cheap date").:> They also put me under, of course. I was pretty groggy most of the day. We were at the RE office for about 5 hours total. It took a long time to revive me. Around 5-6PM I started having pain. It feel like someone was jabbing a knife around down there. Not horrible, but quite uncomfortable. As long as I keep up with the tylenol I seem to be fine and movement definitely made things worse. It still hurt this morning but I am more mobile now. As long as I stay horizontal, I am fine.

aims327: we're thinking of you! BFP! BFP!
IrishHope: IM shots are fine...just ice them before hand. Had my first PIO shot last night and it was fine. I wish my RE gave me more numbers...they barely give me any info. I guess so that we don't obsess over it (he's so orwellian)
Cathann: Good luck with the ER! I obviously had today off and I am definitely glad that I did. Was uncomfortable this morning, but now I am doing fine. Maybe you could do a 1/2 day?
JustJenis: So the follies are doing well? Good for you!
stephanienj: After the trigger and the ER, I am only doing 1 shot, the PIO (progesterone in oil) shot.
LB: I have some symptoms of PCOS, too. I hope that everything works out with this cycle for you, too. Also, thanks for tracking everyone. Can you change my ER to 2/17 and my ET to 2/20 or 2/22?
IndieRad: My follistem and menupur shots stung every time I did them. Just ice it and it will feel better. By the end, you won't even really notice the sting.

Hi ladies! First off ....Cathann - good luck with ER tomorrow. :D And Kate, congrats on 6!

Well, I am back from ER and just woke up from a 2 hour nap. We got 6 eggs...just like Kate. They will call with the fertilization report tomorrow and ET will be Thursday. I'm a little bummed I can't do a 5 day transfer, but I am still positive this time it's going to work for me. Beta test is on 3/3...that's one thing I do like about my RE. He does beta 9 and 11 days past transfer, so it's not a full 2ww. Thank goodness. :D

RunnerKate: Wow, you just got me all pumped up! :) 6 for 6...way to go! Wow, 5 hours. I was thinking it was an hour or so for the ER, but I guess not. So you got a valium and then they put you under? Just curious why both? Do most people say on the lupron/follistim and menopur all the way up to the ET, or do we get a break? I am all bruised up (not to whine....but waa waa).

stephanienj--I did one week (thurs-thurs) of stims and then did trigger shot on Friday and (woohoo) had Sat. off w/ no shots. Then on day of ER I started the PIO shots. Also, I think 5 hours was NOT the norm. We had to show up 1 hour before the ER and they were a little late getting to us. I was told that it took me a LONG time to come out of the anethesia, so that's probably why we were there so long. I wouldn't plan for less than 3 hours. The procedure itself takes 15-30 min, but the set-up takes longer.

stephanienj: PS, I think they do both valium and put you under to keep you relaxed throughout the whole process. Different clinics may have different approaches.

Got results of u/s and blood work. My estrogen level was in the 900's, I fogot what they said they lh was. I have 3 "bigger" follicles--2 at 16, 1 at 15, 1 at 10 and a few smaller ones under 10 mm. All the more mature eggs are on the right hand side--they always are. Things are going pretty fast. I never get lots of eggs--usually anwhere between 2 & 4. In addition to taking the gonal-f, I had to take ganerelix tonight and then in the morning, I have to take another one along w/ my 300 units of gonal-f. I got back in the morning for more b/w and u/s. I think w/ the size they are now, I am getting pretty close to e/r date. I am thinking maybe Thurs or Friday. I was really hoping for the week-end, but I will take anything that comes my way. Go for another acupuncture treatment tomorrow--maybe my last one ( :( --I really like doing it).

Welcome to Sue!!!! and good luck to everyone :)

Hey there
I have only posted here a few times but it looks like I fall into this category as well. My first IVF/ICSI cycle cancelled due to only 2 follies. THis time around I have 4 but on Thursday they are going to ER anyways. Whoo hoo!
Starting to get nervous though, reading through some of the posts with people having numerous follies yet still not getting quality eggs. I don't have a lot to pick from. I am staying quiet positive though, I am still super excited to not be cancelled. I know, it only takes one. Man o man am I praying for that one.

Good Morning my hormonal infused buddies!

I just got back from my daily u/s and b/w. I have to tell ya.. I don't think I have a place on my arms that isn't bruised LOL those poor girls feel horrible having to stick me. I bruise really easy.
Here's my update..

we have 7 @ 17-18mm !!!! Not bad considering I have just the left side AND my nurse said they might not grow! I'm always up for a challenge :)
So they are scheduling my ER for THURSDAY!! OMG! I thought I had till Friday. I'm going to do all my errands and laundry today so that I can totally rest on Thurs & Fri. So my ET will be either Sun or Tues depending.

We're getting close guys!

How's the 2ww?? Any POASers yet? I have to say it's VERY tempting but I truly don't think I want another neg poas. Ya know? I'd rather hear it on the phone than look at one of those stinking sticks. Just don't have it in me.

*HUGS*
