Rio - I am having dull cramps on both sides of my uterus and right under my belly button. I think it is the uterus stretching. I know it isn't my overies because I used a donor, so my ovaries have been "asleep" since December. I do sometime get the sharp pains and I just assumed that was the muscles and nerves. They stop when I sit down and put my feet up. I think when I am on my feet teaching and running around at work my muscles get sore from the new size of my uterus. I am not too concerned because when I get period cramps they are right in the middle of my uterus, rhythmic, and really intense. (I've always had super bad cramps and have endo which probably caused my infertility). So I am assuming that it is all normal. In fact, I have read that women who get mild cramping can be reassured that everything is growing and progressing as it should.

Katie - Congrats on being about to hear your babies' heart beat! I didn't get to hear it and when I asked my RE how fast it was she said that she doesn't measure it because from experience she can see that it was strong and normal. I got my first pics too. Aren't they cool?

Wishluck- I am so sorry, hun. But like others have said, I would try to remain positive. Sometimes the HB takes some time to show up. If your beanie was a late implanter (like mine is suspected to be) perhaps it will catch up. Also to consider is the quality of the sonogram machine. When my doctor did mine, my baby measured 4 days smaller than it should have been and when I asked if I should be worried, she said absolutely not. She said that she was using the poorer machine which routinely measures the babies 4 days smaller. I am hoping for a different machine next time! You just never know what will happen. I am praying for you. Keep us posted.

Katie - I was cleared for sex but am too afraid to do it. Besides my DH is turned off by the progesterone suppositories which is fine by me cuz I am just NOT in the mood yet!

weezie - WOO HOO!!!!!! I am sooooo stoked for you! Twins, and exactly where they should be. Hooray! You must be so relieved. I bet you can't wait for the next u/s when you see the HBs.

Jomae - sorry you aren't feeling well. Write when you can.

Acapulco - did you get your u/s today?

So are any of your symptoms coming and going? I get nausea on and off - it's been better the last few days, and today my boobs don't hurt as much. They are still big though...at least big for me. And my cramps continue to come and go. Weird.

Lots of you are complaining of constipation so I just wanted to share what has worked for me. I bought some Metamucil waffers which are individually sealed "cookies" that actually taste good. The cinnamon ones taste like windmill cookies. Anyway, I eat them for my mid morning snack and they are keeping me right as rain!

Have a great evening everyone!

Weezie YEAH!!!!! I am so happy for you. Two little beans snuggled in right where they are supposed to be. I bet your Mom was thrilled, what a nice experience to share with her. Too bad her driving isn't better  . Hope you got home safely. When do you get the next U/S, you should be far enough along by then to see their HBs I hope.

Wishuluck Oh sweetie. I am sorry that you were not able to see the HB yet. But, don't give up hope. Did the doctor seem worried? They know their U/S machines and maybe they aren't the best of quality so it may not be unusual for them to not see a HB yet. When we went for our U/S we went into a room we had never been in before (DH noticed this, I did not) and they used a completely different U/S machine. Did they use the same one they used to look at your follicles? If so, I don't think that those are detailed enough to pick up the HBs so well. Remember, your little bean is only the size of a lentil bean, now compare the heart to that size, really only the size of the head of a pin. If that U/S machine is not sensitive enough it makes sense that the HB cannot be seen yet. If the nurses weren't suprised or the Dr. then that is hopefully the case. Also, I have heard that a lot of women don't see the HB until week 7. I will keep you on my prayer list if only to pray for strengh and hope for you because I know in my heart your baby is fine.

Geckogirl I was suprised when you said no hair dye but I kind of get it if it's the kind that touches your scalp, but no maniucres or pedicures? WOW!! What is the danger of those?? I am not beeing cheeky, I really would like to know. I get manicures every other week and pedicures nearly monthly. I do not wear acrylic or gel nails, they are my own, so what is the danger? You soak your hands/feet, they buff you up, they lotion you up, give a nice rub, and paint, what is so dangerous about that? They use mild soap and lotion where I go so I can't imagine that there are any dangerous chemicals. As a matter of fact my stylist just had her second child last August and she gave me manicures, pedicures, & hilights all through her pregnancy. She did not wear protective gloves at any time and she is the proud Mamma of a very healthy and handsome little guy. I would ask your RE what the logic behind that is. I mean cautious is one thing but you deserve to get pampered, especially at a time like this. Manis/Pedis are great for relieving stress. I just went and had a facial and salt scrub today. I was told by my RE that these are fine, they do use less fragrant oils in case you have a tendency to get nauseous from strong smells.

Acapulco Still waiting hun. How did it go today?

Riogirl I have on and off cramps too. They feel nothing like AF cramps, more like I stretched too much. I get mine mostly at night when I go to bed. I seem to be fine throughout the day unless I am on my feet for too long. Hope everything is okay. I'm 100% sure that it is and it's normal. I have a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog (or Swissie) and she is a big oaf. We love her of course but she tends to bump me too. Her favorite greeting is to push you and nibble either your rump or the other side  . Your little one is in a sack of fluid and is very well protected by it. It would take quite a wallop from the outside to rupture it and cause problems. Maybe your muscles and whatnot are more tender because you're stretching in there and that is what you have been feeling after her bang into you. Try not to worry. P.S. We also have two chi hua huas, and they run across me on the couch all the time. I have gotten very good at covering my belly in anticipation.

KatieG Roses?? AWE, that is sooo sweet. I think my DH needs to get a lesson from yours. He's really not the flower giving type.

Waitingformia That is so cool that you are already planning your nursery. My DH charts things like that on the computer. I find it all too complicated myself. We have to build another bedroom downstairs for my youngest and then the baby gets her room, which is just across the hall from ours. She's pretty excited about getting a brand new room.

Jomae I'm sorry to hear that you're having such bad headaches. Take care of yourself and get lots of rest if you need it. Hang in there.

Kildean Wow, what fantastic numbers. It sounds like twins to me, boy and girl? Could you be that luckY? I hope so, wouldn't that be great? Good luck on the 29th.

I had the wierdest dream last night. It was so real!! (Aside from the fact that I was outside, in a lawn chair, next to a pool.) I dreamt that I gave birth to a little girl, 8lbs 4ozs. Is that a hoot or what?? I knew the weight. I woke up really feeling that I had had a baby. Of course as soon as I opened my eyes and saw that I was in my bedroom then it hit home that maybe having a baby in a lawn chair, by a pool, wasn't all that realistic after all  .

I have been having pretty consistent MS in the afternoon. From about 11:00 a.m. until about 4:00 p.m. No vomiting yet, but I have come close a couple times. The rest of the day, morning and night, I seem to be fine. I wonder why that is. No headaches for me, and my boobs are on and off sore. Which is a good thing because they were getting so uncomfortable!!

I am sorry if I have missed anyone. I am also sorry that I have rambled on so much, but I missed out this morning when everything disappeared on me  . I hope everyone is doing well, have a good night girls!

Yayy! So glad to hear everything is good with you Weezie. Congrats on twins!

Gecko: I hear you on the sex issue. I am too afraid too.

KatieG: That is soo sweet of your DH. It is awesome that you got to hear the heartbeat already. I hope I get to, too.

Mia: Green would be a great neutral color. However, I bet the suspense will get to you. Just like poas. Uh hmmm. LOL

Wish: Try not to worry. It happens. Everything will be ok, I just know it.

Well, ladies...I know alot of you have been asking and I am sorry that I havent been feeling like talking much. Just a phase, I guess.

I went to the heart specialist on Tues...EKG was good ...blood pressure was good...he did an ultrasound my heart and I have a pregnancy induced heart murmur already. He says they dont usually see that till later in pregnancy. He does not feel that it is asthma. He believes that it is all the hormones and stuff that I have been on almost non-stop since Sept. for the 3 IUI's and then IVF that we did. So I am still short of breath...but he said once the estrogen and progesterone stops that I should start feeling better. Otherwise my heart looks great! I stopped the estrogen patches today. My feet and legs are soo swollen...that I had to buy shoes work 2 sizes bigger!!! I go back to see the specialist May 6th.

I went to work yesterday and once again...started cramping and spotting and so I have taken a leave of absence from work. It happens during and after working. It is too scary and so I called the doc and he said, "Yep, you're done." I dont know when I will get to go back if ever. Money will be tight without my income.

My high risk doc put on a seminar tonight for "High risk pregnancy-35 and over" and it was informative and interesting. That's about all that is new with me. I am just sooo scared of a miscarriage, now. I wish I could enjoy being pregnant. No morning sickness yet. Thank goodness.

Hope all is well with everyone. :D

Hey tammy- good to hear from you, though I am sorry it's going so tough for you right now- taking a leave of absence is a good idea even if it seems money will be tight for a bit- the most important job you have is keeping you and the bean/beans safe and healthy -you and Dh have gone through a ton to get to this point- give yourself the time you need- and listen to the docs. Do you think they will let you return to work at any point throughout your pregnancy?
There are a slew of things you can do to drum up funds and stay at home-relaxed! After my back surgery( I was housebound for 2 months!) I started selling stuff on eBay for my parents and some of their friends - it was good to help pass the time, and made me some money to boot.

weezie- awesome news about the twins - just where they're supposed to be!
rio- how's it going?
gecho - thanks for the info on uterine stretching- so interesting- i've been getting kind of weird tugging feelings- could be that- or gas!hee hee
hokey- I loved your dream- hope the real birth is that relaxed! and we'll just see about the 8lb4oz girl!!!- are you keeping a dream or pg diary? I have been keeping a journal since just before our 1st IVF shot - though i must admit I have not written in it this week!- not so much to report really- PIO ok and lumpy, crinone sups yuck, hating smell of a lot of foods( and people!! ) ok- will write in it today as it's snowing and i think i will stay home!

hi to all the mommies out there - most sound to be feeling good- a little sick, a little unable to poo, and a little bloated, sleepy, insomniacs, a little crampy and a little crabby - sounds like we're all right where we should be! HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!

what prego books are any of you reading??
I just ordered the Mayo Clinic pregnancy book, and The Pregnancy Countdown book- week by week- they were rated highly on Amazon - my friend gave me the "girlfriend guide to pregnancy" and Dr Sears- but the Sears one is about 12 years old and a bit too crunchy for me - want a little more science and contemporary stuff

guess the family gave up on us ever having kids b/c my SILs both gave away all of their books- and their clothes!!!!! grrrr- and my sisters are now well out of the baby stuff for sure -their kids are 20yo, 15,13, 10 but at least my friends are all late bloomers in the parenting dept just like me!!!

Hi Everyone!

Weezie - I am thrilled that everything went well yesterday and that your twins are settling in!! Fantastic!

Katie - fun that you were able to hear your baby's heartbeat!

Wish - that is tough that you can't get back for your u/s until the 28th. Maybe they will bump you up a day or two. Can you ask? Hang in there!!!

Tammy - glad to hear that your heart is a-ok! That is awesome news! I guess you'll have to take it easy for your pregnancy but that is a good thing anyway!

Acapulco - any news? can't wait to hear!

Hi to everyone else!!!

I woke up today and feel like I am going to throw up at any time. I am scared to eat because I don't want to throw up. Man do I feel lousy! But that is okay.

Last night I met my mom at the mall and we browsed in Pottery Barn for Kids! They have such cute stuff! I can't wait to decorate.

I am planning to tell my close group of friends in early March but just found out that my closest friend was going to be going away to Florida for 2 weeks and is leaving tomorrow. So, I called her this morning and shared the news. She started crying because she was so excited! It is so much fun to see/hear the reaction - it has been such a struggle for us (9 rounds) and most of my friends know that. Anyway, she has asked that I promise to email her when I find out the u/s results!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!!

Wish- I know this is easier said than done...but try not to worry. When I found out that my first u/s was scheduled when I was over 7 weeks...at first I was disappointed but then, I was kind of relieved because I knew that if I got in there and didn't see a h/b at 6w 2 days or so...that I would worry myself to death. Hang in there.....

Rio- I have really bad cramps some days..especially around my ovaries.

Weezie- I am so glad that they are where they are supposed to be. You have been on my mind a lot. I had an ectopic 4 years ago........

I have just the opposite of some of you ladies...and if i hadn't had it with my dd 18 years ago...I would be worried but I have diahrrea....lol. Every day that passes is one day closer to seeing our dreams realized.

Got to go...at work...

I have a TMI question for those on Crinone
Do you feel like you get "plugged in" in there? I notice that Crinone clumps up like styrofoam and once in a while a huge clump comes out but some days when I go to insert the Crinone the applicator feels stuck, I feel like I am plugged up with the stuff, but it is slow release so I don't want to "fish it out" What's your experience?

Also anyone get a fast heartbeat, my resting heartbeat last evening was around 80... I have gotten that a few times.

Hope all you mommies are doing great! :D I am so glad we are in this together!!!

Oh - I also feel like biting people's heads off (except DH)!!! I am so irritated!

TammyS: I am so glad to hear your heart is ok and that it is all of the meds affecting your breathing which can be easily fixed. You are the first one to officially go on rest from our group! I pray that everything works out and you are able to find a way to bring in income without leaving home. I have actually heard about airlines hiring people to take calls from people making reservations and they could work from home. Something you could check into.

I had my second u/s today and everything looks good. The twins are exactly where they are supposed to be in size (7 weeks). Twins A's heart rate was 124bpm and he/she is 9.8mm in length. Twin B's heart rate was 130bpm and is 11.2mm in length. I go back for one last visit with my RE next Friday and then start going to my regular OB (which my first appt. is also next Friday). I start seeing the perinatologist when I am 10 weeks along.

Riogirl - I am so glad you raised this because that is exactly what happens to me. It is like it builds up and then all of a sudden a huge lump comes out. It is the strangest feeling and freaked me out the first time it happened. So, i guess it is fairly normal - a bit comes out throughout the day but not nearly the amount that goes in each night!

I am so excited that it is Friday. But the thing I am most excited about is that I will get the chance to nap tomorrow and Sunday afternoons (I hope!). that is now proving to be the highlights in my life - oh boy!!!

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hi Ladies,

Me: Today was my original u/s date. Being I had the u/s on Thursday DH and I planned a day outdoors to get my mind off of everything.

Unfortunately, I must wait until 2/28 for the next u/s because they want the sac to grow and the tech won't see much within 2 - 3 days from the first u/s.

With all the hormones injected in my (our) system it was a break down waiting to happen. I feel better now and ready to face the next u/s
Thank you girls for your love and support it goes a LONG WAY!!!

Hi girls, sorry i haven't been on here much lately! Hope veryone is doing well -

I am almost 6 weeks along (first u/s is this friday 2/29) and i am having occasional crampy feeling at the very bottom of my stomach. It feels like AF is coming - it's not as much of a cramp feeling, but more of a pulling, nagging feeling. I can't really explain it. Have you girls had this? Sometimes it only lasts a few seconds and isn't a problem, but it was very uncomfortable on two different occasions. Should I be worried???
