Feb/Mar 08 Cycle Buddies

Kind of disappointed. The last 2 times they only got 2 eggs (usually get 3 or 4). this time they got 2 and only 1 fertilized. I know it only takes one, but I would have liked a "cushion"--especially given this is my last time--especially since I usually always had 2 or 3 to transfer. But I guess it could have been worse--been there and done that too w/ NO e/t. E/T will be tommorrow at 12:30 if all stays well. They will call me in the morning to make sure embryo is still viable. Keeping my fingers crossed that this will be the one. It's out of my hands now and whatever happens I will have to accept it--but that doesn't mean I can't be disappointed if it fails.

We are all moving along so well I thought I would update everyone's progress. Let me know if something is not right, I tried to get the most up to date information.

kbat: I am so sorry you are disappointed. I know we all get tired of hearing it sometimes, but it does just take one. Hang in there!

I go for FET tomorrow. Hubby took the call so I don't know alot of the details as he was flustered. But I am just so happy and proud of my body. On day 2 u/s I only had 7 follicles. 4 of these follicles stimulated and I produced 4 eggs. Tomorrow they are transferring 3 embryos back. This is so amazing. Of course I was thinking the worse and that maybe if I am lucky only 1 would transfer. I'll keep you all posted.

Ugh...another day of US and BW! I have 9 eggs over 10 ( Biggest are 19 and 21), and am taking my trigger shots tonight. ET is scheduled for Sunday morning. Anyone else had stomach aches or a bloated feeling? Between the getting up early every morning for bloodwork, and the stomach aches, I am so run down! I've never felt worse. Can't wait for Sunday to be done, and hopefully for good news to be on it's way. Good luck to everyone this weekend!

stephanie - I experienced the bloating before my ER. I was really uncomfortable. I had about the same size follicles you did. It seemed like I was always holding my stomach because it hurt so bad. It will get better though. Good luck with ER!

Irish Hope--Did you use ICSI to have your eggs fertilized?

Courtney--thanks for adding me to the list. and also i started lupron on 2/21. and that was my first time using lupron. I'm not sure what microdose is...but it is 10 units from 2/21-3/2 and 5 units after that.

stapheanienj - bloated/crampy/run down - check check and check!! I think it's all normal - my retrieval was Thursday and I still feel a little bloated. Cramps are pretty much gone - my boobs are HUGE and sore! I pretty much work and come home and am asleep by 730pm Last night my husband burned his pizza and I slept thru the fire alarm so exhaustion - YES

Hi Ladies,

Did any of you have a higher number of follicles after the inital ultrasound?? I was just wondering since the next meds are supposed to help the follies grow. Being that the follies are so small I was thinking that the growth meds would help the doctors to see more than the first time. I don't know if my logic is off or accurate. Could you please let me know your experiences!!! Thanks so much.

Grow follies grow to all of us stimmers and stick embies/babies stick to all of you ers and ets!!! Let's have tons of BFPs for March !!!!!

The u/s will only pick up the follies of a certain size or larger. So as the grow more pop up. I know my count and sizes changed every time I went in and i was on daily monitoring for a week! So yes, they will grow, the numbers will change. At that stage. It's a day to day thing

[color=darkred]Got the call this morning that the e/t is still on. I am a little nervous this time around because I only have one to transfer. Also a little nervous b/c when I was at clinic #1, I would have day 2 transfers. When I came over to this clinic--the first IVF I had w/ them, they did wait to do a day 3 transfer, but they couldn't do it b/c they said the embryo wasn't dividing correctly, etc. I was told by my doctor that they very rarely do a day 2 because of this reason and that's probably what happened the first couple of times--the embryo wasn't dividing properly, but they didn't wait until day 3 to find this out. They discourage day 2 transfers because it gives a person "false" hopes. Then she decides to do a day 2 after all. My last one I had 2 embryos and they waited until day 3 and they both looked pretty good--one was an 8 cell while the other one was a 6 cell. And it ended in an etopic so it wasn't a complete failure. All I can do is pray and hope that it all goes well and that the embryo is good quality and trust that the re knows what she's doing. I was supposed to be there for 11:30, but they did ask if I could be there for 11:10.
