Hi Ladies,
Just in 2WW countdown....10 more days to go. Had yet another person ask me when we are going to "start trying." I didn't lie. I just tell her that we can't get pregnant naturally and are doing infertility treatments and that I don't want to talk about it. How do you guys handle these questions? They are driving me crazy. I cringe everytime it happens. Last week this guy said, "well, if you guys ever decide to have kids..." I could have cried. I wish it was a decision we were able to make.

JustJenis: Day 5 blast transfer is great! I did the ET without hubby, too. You definitely want someone there to be with you, drive you home, etc. My clinic makes us take Valium and that stuff (rocks!) totally knocks me out. Good luck!

keita1981: Did you get them to not do ICSI? Just curious about why you wouldn't want them to do it? Cost? It can't hurt if $$ isn't the issue.

kbat: good luck with the ET. Very odd....I had my ET on 2/20 and I only go in one day before you...I wonder if this means that I could possibly do a HPT earlier....

Beaner: As for the quality of the embryos....I was worrying about that b/c my dr wouldn't tell me about my embryos...but you have to ask yourself...what does it matter? What's done is done. And, there have been folks that have the PERFECT embryos still don't get pregnant. (Just to play devil's advocate.)

IrishHope: Good luck today! Hope you have a lot of fun movies to watch!

SueHu: Hope you feel better!

Hey lady,

I wanted to do the ICSI, but my dr. said we didn't have to since dh sperm was DA BOMB. of course he didn't put it in that lingo, but he has no problems at all. when he said that, it caught me off guard and i'm like are you serious? He said if you want to do half icsi then we can. I agreed, but later i thought about the cost. it will be additional 1200 b/c my insurance wouldn't cover that part since nothing is wrong w/ him. we don't mind, BUT it would be great to keep the 1200 too. I'M thinking we are just going to do the half icsi and half the other way, just to see how things are.

I've gotten some of the questions. I'll just smile and kinda leave. LOl rude huh? but a lot of folks know what has happened to me and i think they just don't say anything about kids anymore. which i'm so thankful of b/c it was driving me crazy.

I meant to ask earlier....

Those of you that are off the stims and on the PIO, have you bloated up even worse than before? I feel HUGE!! My jeans are tight now, my boobs I swear are 2 sizes up.

And it's just my belly and boobs. Anyone else???

JustJenis -I'm on PIO and yes my boobs are sore and huge! slightly bloated but not awful - then again I'm in my jammies since transfer was today at 930am...

kbat -wow! you have all the embie lingo...thanks for the info on quality.

All I know is the RE said we had an 8 cell he was putting in and DH and I looked at each other and said...uhm we'd prefer 2 embryos...he said he had no problem w/ that and off we went...our spares will have to be watched for a few days before they let us know if any froze...

already teh 2WW is insane...

good luck to the stimmers - hope the wait to start goes quickly for those waiting to start meds...it goes quick once you start so hang in there!

Evening everyone - is anyone else having problems sleeping? I've never had problems sleeping until the past week, and I'm now in a really bad habit of being awake for a couple of hours in the middle of the night. I'm trying to relax, but I'm pretty sure that I'm starting to worry about everything. My RE said that I can take Tylenol PM through all of this, and I'm actually considering it. Is anyone else taking a sleeping aid?

RunnerKate - I've handled those lovely "when are you going to have kids" questions in various ways over the past 5 years of us TTC. I use to say, "we're not trying just yet" just to skirt the issue. I'm now in the "in your face" phase, so when someone asks me, and depending on how emotional I'm feeling that day, I look them straight in the eye and tell them that we've been trying to start a family for several years. That usually shuts them up.

I have been so hurt over the years when people bring this up. In one way, it's just a normal life question (Are you dating anyone, are you guys talking marriage, when are you going to start a family, etc.). In another way, people are just nosey. I also recognize that I'm super sensitive to the subject and in general, people are just making small talk. It's really shown me that you shouldn't ask personal questions of any kind unless you know someone really well.

Anyway - hang in there with those questions. Every time I gets asked, it hurts, but I'm much more brave in my response now too.

Sue Hu - you and I are really close together on our cycles. I started Lupron on 2/13.

JustJenis - Good luck with the ET.

Everyone please say a quick prayer for me tonight. DH did not get a clean stick with the Lupron yesterday, and he felt just horrible, so there were a few tears last night. Tonight, we start the Follistim too. I've been thinking about it all day. *sigh*

Sue~ I don't have h disease, but I wouldn't worry about the thyroid. As long as your doctor monitors- you will be fine. Every time that the clinic does bloodwork they are monitoring your hormone levels so they would notice right away if things were off balance. I go to an endo every few months. He told me that the only changes that will be necessary are increases in synthroid once I am pregnant. Instead of going for trimothy bloodwork I will go for monthly/weekly bloodwork. It is very easy to maintain a thyroid condition as long as you see the RE regularly. No worries, I'm sorry if I scared you. I was just wondering if anyone needed an increase in synthroid due to the shots- so far my bloodwork has come back okay, but I go again tomorrow.

Jenis~ great news on the blasts. That means there will even be a few to freeze (less drugs for baby number 2/3) Isn't there anyone who can drive you to the clinic on Tues?? What time is your appointment??

Irishhope~ I am so happy to hear that you had an 8 cell and may have extras to freeze. Just take it easy and try to keep your mind of 2ww. I am sure it is soo much easier said than done!!!

RunnerKate~ pretty soon the questions won't be cumbersome or unwelcome cause you're going to have a BFP!!! :D

JustJenis- Im in NJ too. Any chance you are going to RMA? My jeans and boobs are swollen too! I fell like a house.

Just a quick to the rest of you ladies getting ready for ER. I am the biggest baby in the world, and I had mine this morning and it honewstly wasn't that bad. Honestly, I am so relieved! Don't worry about t a thing.

To the woman having trouble sleeping...I have been worrying myself sick through each new thing. First I was worried about the lupron, then the menopur, then the retrieval and now of course the progesterone shots. Try not to worry about it. The mind plays tricks on you and you'll work yourself up over nothing.

Question for the group. How many eggs is good? And what percent usually fertilize? They got 6 today, and I can't wait for the phone call tomorrow to see how many fertilized. I could have sworn the lady next to me got 14, and I heard them say it was her third try so I was a little bummed out. How many should I expect? (Not that it matters, just curious).

J&C - that is cool that we r almost on the same exact cycle. Technically, I was supposed to start Follistim yest. (on my CD3) but they gave me a "new day 3" so they don't have too many woman ER-ing and ET-ing at the same time.. so I start my Follistim tomorrow.. so now I am 1 day behind u :-)
What clinic r u at?

Kimbers312 - I am going to speak w/ my Endo. dr. tomorrow to let him in on the loop (TTC). I have only had an initial consultation so far w/ him months ago. Don't worry you didn't scare me, but I am concerned, in general. When they first detected my hypothyroidism, my TSH #'s were REALLY high.

Good luck RunnerKate, JustJenis and IrishHope on ur ET's and the results!!!

And of course to everyone else too wherever u are in ur cycle.

And here I am again up in the middle of the night. *sigh*

DH did a great job with the shots last night, and we added shot #2, which wasn't a problem at all. I need to keep relaxing and quit working myself into a frenzy. I'm almost glad to be back to work tomorrow to have something to keep my mind occupied, and I hate Mondays. :?

Sue Hu: We're at Midwest Reproductive Center. How about you? Glad to have someone on the same schedule.

Happy Monday to all!

J&C - it may sound corny but I think it's normal to worry, lose sleep, obsess and be emotional thru all of this. I got a soothing cd for the car (commute), I also put one in my cd player on my desk at work (at times work can be stressful so I just hit play) and we have one in our bedroom...more of a positive thinking cd that even if you are asleep works ...just a thought...ontop of everything else physically anything to emotionally relax is good...are you doing acupuncture?

stephanienj - glad retrieval went well...

honestly for everyone stimming - retrieval and transfer are not bad. Of course it's emotional, you have anxiety/stress but physically you will do GREAT!! PIO shots are also getting better...I was afraid of those but DH and I have it down now...I recommend warming it in your hand first for a good 5 minutes - first night we did not and it took long time to go in b/c it's thick...the last 2 nights have been over faster and I put a warm face cloth on, rub cirucular motion, heating pad...takes a total of 10-15 minutes but so far no bruising or anything and I think the after massage, heat helps....

I am not sure who asked about good # of eggs - I think it depends on each woman's situation (age, condition etc.) I think I read someplace in general an IVF cycle a good number is 4 or more but I could be totally confused w/ something I read somewhere else...

Hang in there all!!! Baby dust to all!!!

P.S. - I need to learn to do the cute graphics etc!! Maybe today as I'm home for day #2 rest after transer
