BACK FROM ER

Post by keita1981 »

Hello ladies I'm back from the ER. I'm sleepy, but atleast i was able to get something to eat. I'll fill you in more tomorrow, when i get more info, but they retrieved 30 eggs. I was shocked, they said it was a record for today. they gave me a prescription for something to control OHSS b/c of how many eggs were taken out.
me/26 & dh/27 ttc since 2005 pit. tumor taking bromocriptine. Tubal IF. m/c on 11/06 natural. 01/07 ectopic preg, 12/07 another ectopic & both tubes removed. ER 3/12/08, ET 3/15/08 2 perfect 8-celled embabies transfered. test date 3/28/08. 1 TOTSICLE.

CORNYBABY; WOOHOO :o :D :o :D

I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! THANK GOD YOU NEVER GAVE UP. Take it easy and enjoy your pregnancy.

Looks like I will definately trigger tomorrow night and have ER on 03/15/08. I have

1 @ 19
1 @ 18
1 @ 17
1 @ 15
2 @ 13
1 @ 10

I hate having such low numbers, I know it dwindles with each step. Will they get 6 eggs? (I don't expect the 10 to be in play). How many will fertilize? I wish I had responded better to the microdose flare Lupron protocol. Last cycle I had 6 eggs, only 4 mature and 2 fertilized. Transferred 2 eight cell embryos on day 3. BFN. I just want to have a better chance. Maybe I will get the 5 mature eggs this time and it will be a small improvement.

I AM SO SCARED!!!!!!!

Question for you ladies that had Day 3 transfers.... what were ur cell stages? 4,6,8??
I know I shouldn't be worrying myself about this as it doesn't matter now anyway, what's done is done..
But any input is appreciated.

I'm back from ET today, and I feel great! We had 4 strong embies, all 4 were 8 cell and a grade "A". RE really didn't want to do 4, so we did 3, which is what I've been hoping for since this process started. For the 4th embie, if it continues to split well, we'll freeze it for later.

I'm laying around today and tomorrow and taking it easy. My pregnancy test will be on Easter Sunday, March 23rd.

WOW keita - 30 eggs. Great job!!! Now the spermies can do their job. *Go spermies go*

kbear - You'll do great with the trigger and will get exactly the eggs that you need. I was a late developer and didn't have many follies either, but we retrieved 10 and have 4 embies. PMA!

Is it me, or is the message board SUPER slow today?

Sue Hu - I'm done w/ this cycle but transferred 1 8 cell and 1 9 cell.

kbear - not necessarily does it dwindle... my last ultrasound before trigger I had 14. When I came to after retrieval doc held a slip of paper with 22 written on it...some smaller ones catch up after the trigger etc. Keep the faith and good luck!

Just got back the numbers from my second beta this morning - they aren't looking so good yet. It didn't increase by a minimum of 66% as they expected. Today's number was 63 - pretty close to the 66% mark but not quite there.

Cornybaby - congratulations and I sure hope my embies also are fighters like yours and keep growing!!

I go in for a followup beta on friday.

I am kind of getting over this whole thing. I am not sure if a 3rd opinion would make much of a difference at this point, so I guess I'll try tcm for now. Not sure if it'll be helpful in my case b/c of no left tube and endo, but I guess it couldn't hurt, and right now it's cheaper than ivf cycle....

Best of luck to everyone!!!!

RUNNER KATE: Why are you lurking? You are one of us, we want you to keep posting. We are all so thrilled for your BFP!!! :D

Well, so much for the best laid plans. I was waiting for my results call yesterday, which I hadn't gotten by 5:00 p.m. which is very unusual. I got a call telling me my trigger time. I was like "I am not triggering tonight, my RE said he wanted me to hold until today to trigger." The lady asked if I had heard from my RN yet and I told her no. She told me she would call me back. Two seconds after I hung up, I got a call from my RN. She apologized for not getting to me sooner, but that I was triggering last night.

It seems that my Estrogen level had plateaued at 1065, so it was optimum to trigger last night and have ER on Friday. I asked if this is a bad sign, and she said they would have liked the extra day, but she was not overly concerned. We did do a trigger w/ a boost, which means I did my regular dose of Menopur and Gonal-f last night SQ and the trigger IM. Hopefully as the eggs loosten from the follicle walls, they will continue to grow a little with the boost.

Well, we did trigger last night and my ER is 7:30 a.m. tomorrow. I don't know if this is all a bad omen or not. I assume that I will have a three day transfer as my numbers are so low, we probably won't have enough embryos to choose from for a 5 day blast. That is if we make it to transfer. I am praying so hard that I get 5 or 6 eggs and have a good fertilization report.

I will try to post tomorrow evening, after I have slept off the anesthesia I get for ER.

Have I told you all lately, how great, brave and strong you all are.!!!!

Indie Rad - I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and I am sure everything will be fine :)

Keita, wow! 30 eggs is fantastic you little over achiever you :P

Sue Hu - When I got pregnant with my daughter we had 1 6 cell and 1 8 cell embryo transferred. This time we transferred 2 4 cells...and yes, it isn't quite as good for them to be 4 cells for a 3dt, but it isn't awful either. My doctor and nurse said that they have seen many pregnancies result from 4 cell embryos - sometimes they just do better in you than in that little dish ;) Besides...you had a 6 cell which is where they like them to be (6-8 cells is what my clinic likes for a 3dt).

Well ladies, I test tomorrow and am super nervous. I change my opinion by the minute. Right now I would say it didn't work, but you could ask me 10 minutes from now and I would say yes, it worked! I overanalyze my body for sure. One quick question for you all, do any of you know if your basal body temperature means anything during IVF or does the progesterone mess that up? My endometriosis makes it hard to know what any feeling means anymore. I will let you all know what happens...wish me luck!

kbear - good luck with ER today. Don't worry yourself with the nunbers yet. Just relax.

Kate - Thanks, I did check that page. I panicked a bit yesterday because of my history of ectopic but I have decided not to let that pull me down. I am going keep PMA and hope I am just a slow starter.

Sue - We transferred 2 embies - 6 cell and a 7 cell. Both were grade B.

J&C - the embie grade sounds great. I think thats the highest grade. Cool! can't wait to see a BFP post!!!!

Keep me in your prayers ladies, I am looking for a miracle in the next few days :)
