Hi Ladies!
I know I have been MIA for a while. I was in training away from a computer last week and away for the weekend.
It looks like everyone is progressing well. Kimbers312 - good luck today! I can't wait to see how your beta test goes!

I did an hpt this morning. I got a BFP! We are cautiously optimistic given that last time we had a chemical pregnancy. I do believe it will work this time though!

I wish you all the best of luck on St. Patrick's Day!

ItsGottaWork, that is so promising! When is your Beta?

Best of luck today, Kimbers!

I had my second Beta today and it was 365. I don't remember...is that good? The nurse said it was good, but I always second guess everything in this process :?

Hi Ladies,

Sorry I have been MIA last few days. Unfortunately last few days have been pretty hard for me. My beta numbers never increased normally and now they have started to go down. So as of today my RE has pulled the plug on the PIO shots. So this is definitely over for me. We have had a crying fest at home since friday, so I am in a much better state to handle this disappointment today.

Congrats to brandy and itsgottawork on your BFPs. Good luck to all the stimmers and those in 2ww. Will be praying for BFPs for you all.

As for me, I will probably take a break from this unless my RE tells me something new and wonderful in my follow up appt. tomorrow. Having 3 pregnancies end in almost similar manner has been very hard on me and DH. And no one seems to be able to tell us if this has a lot due to my uterus shape/size though they hint on that when things go wrong. So we are almost ready to move on with adoption.

You ladies have all been amazing in your support. Thanks a lot for that.

ET UPDATE

Post by keita1981 »

Hello everyone, I had my ET Saturday. I had 3 only fertilized out of the 30. Since I responded so well to the meds and produced a lot of follicles, the eggs weren't all that mature. I only stimmed for like 9 days. anyway, I'm proud to say that all 3 made it and I'm happy. they said they trf 2 perfect 3 day embryos and they are so precious. (only WE would say something like that). The one I have left is in its early stage of blast. So, I've been on bed rest since then and I have another day off work. I had gotten out the house today. but still took it easy. Good luck to all the girls in the 2WW.
me/26 & dh/27 ttc since 2005 pit. tumor taking bromocriptine. Tubal IF. m/c on 11/06 natural. 01/07 ectopic preg, 12/07 another ectopic & both tubes removed. ER 3/12/08, ET 3/15/08 2 perfect 8-celled embabies transfered. test date 3/28/08. 1 TOTSICLE.

INDIE RAD: I am so sorry for your sad turn of events. :( Please keep us updated on your next step. I know there is a beautiful child out there for you somewhere, whether it be from IVF or adoption.

We had ET today. We knew we still had 5 embryos still splitting, but the embryologist wanted us to transfer today, so we went in this morning. The RE came in and told us we had 5 embryos, three 8 cell and two 7 cell. They are all Class 1. The RE was very positive and said they were much better than last time. It turns out that we transferred a 5 and 6 cell, because that is all we had, and got the BFN.

The RE stated that they were comfortable with transferring 4, due to my age. Multiples implantation is much less likely in my age group. Triplets would be a very very low percent risk and if we were open to multiples such as twins, they would go with four. They also explained that if we were going to transfer four, waiting to blast state offerred no benefit. So, we did it, and I had four embryos transferred. They are watching the fifth, and if it makes it to blast state, they will freeze it.

While we were doing the transfer, one stayed in the cathater, so we had to transfer twice. The RE stated that for some reason, they seem to see a lot of pregnancies when an embryo stows away in the cathater. So, I am taking that as a good sign, I have at least one sticky embryo.

I am feeling really positive this time. Everything at this point is going so much better than last time. We got a great photo of the embryos that we transferred.

So, now I am officially in the 2ww. My test date is April 1, hopefully no April Fools day jokes that day. I am on my 24 hours bedrest now and my DH i taking wonderful care of me. I have an acupuncture appointment tomorrow afternoon. The acupuncturist states she will do a treatment that will get things flowing to the uterus which hopefully will help with implantation. One funny thing about acupuncture, when I showed up last Thursday, my acupuncturist was not there, and apparantly had an emergency in China, so she would not be available to do a treatment before and after transfer as we had planned. I was very upset. I did find another acupuncturist (the one that treats at my clinic) and she stated the treatments previously were most important, but she could see me tomorrow.

I know this two weeks will be hard, I've been through it before, but I also think my experience will help. I know that you can have every symptom and good sign, and it doesn't necessarily mean it will be a BFP. I am not going to read anything into each sign (I say that, but time will tell, won't it)?

I really feel that this is my time.

I wish "STICKY BABY DUST" to everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Ladies,

Thanks for the warm wishes yesterday, but unfortunately it was a BFN. With that said dh and I are going to keep pushing on. This was only our first try. And if you don't get it right the first time~ well try and try again. It will just make the baby or babies that we have all that more special.

Best of luck to all of the stimmers, ers, ets and 2wws.
To all the Mommies to be- give those little toes and fingers a kiss for me when you meet your precious little one(s). I was very blessed to have found this site because I found all of you~ my IVF sisterhood!!! You will all be in my thoughts and prayers. GOOD LUCK!!!

kimbers312 - I am really sorry to hear about your BFN. It sounds like you and DH have a great attitude. It seems from reading of others that the first time around may work but if it doesn't, it is really helpful for doctors to understand how respond to meds so they can determine the best way to proceed next time around. I wish you the best of luck!

indie_rad - I am sorry for your loss. That is such an emotional roller coaster to be on and I wish you all the best as you and your husband recover from this blow! Good luck!

Well tomorrow is my retrieval and I am getting anxious. I cannot wait to see how many I get :P RE is not yet sure if we'll do 3dt or 5dt, so I guess I will know more Friday on that...transfer will be either Sat or Mon.

Indie_rad - So very sorry your BFP has ended  I cannot remember, have you had the PGD? There may be a reason for this continually happening to you. I can understand taking a break, but please do not give up! It will happen...there are other options, but I am not one to push that envelope b/c at this moment, DH and I are not ready to use donor eggs or adopt. There is nothing wrong with that so don't get me wrong...it's just a personal preference right now. God Bless You & DH!!

Kimbers - I am so sorry to hear your sad news. I am a firm believer in everything happens for a reason and maybe it just wasn't the right time. Please don't be mad at me for saying that...believe me I heard it alot on my 1st failed IVF and it took a while to sink in. Itsgottawork is right...as sad as a BFN is...it gives our REs a chance to review what happened this cycle and change things up a bit. Whatever you decide, please do not give up.

Trying to keep a PMA thru this rollercoaster of a ride!

Ladies - thanks for all the support. Had a long chat with my RE today. Unfortunately he is one of those guys who doesn't believe in the PGD testing much. In anycase in the last cycle we only ended up with 2 embies, so not much to choose from. All this is terribly confusing for me. There seems to be such a varied opinion about PGD, all the immunology tests etc. My RE unfortunately doesn't have much faith in them. I don't know if that means I am missing out on a lot.. unfortunately this was one of the clinics my insurance covered!!! RE was more optimistic about my chances than I had expected and he didn't blame it on my poor uterus like my previous RE did! Personally donor eggs/surrogate are options I don't want to consider ever - I would rather adopt. I don't think there is anything wrong with those options, just would be hard for me emotionally. So anyway I am going to take a few months haitus from all this so I can evaluate my options clearly and also because DH is also going to be extremely busy with work next few months and I want him around to atleast give me the PIO shots!

I hope you all don't mind me venting out my frustration.

Jill _n_Mark - Good luck with ER!

Kimbers - I am so sorry about the BFN. What you said about pushing on and trying again has made me also thinking that maybe I should give this another try. Good luck with your next cycle.

INdie, I am so sorry to hear that your numbers didn't increase. It is for that very reason that I am still on pins and needles after my BFP. When it's so early you just never know. I will certainly keep you in my prayers and hope that you and DH find comfort in each other.

Kimbers, second time was a charm for us maybe it will be for you too :) Try and keep your pma :)

Kbear, sounds like everything went wonderfully. Good luck on the 2ww.

We have a lot of ladies testing this week...how are y'all doing?

Hi Girls ~

I posted on this thread a few weeks ago and have been MIA, it's great to see so many BFP's since I've been gone!! :D

Kimbers ~ So sorry to hear about your BFN. It sounds like you have a great PMA, so I'm sure you will be BFP before you know it!

Jill ~ Good luck with your E/R tomorrow!

Kbear ~ Baby dust to you! I had acupuncture also for 2 weeks before E/R. I didn't have acu again until 2 days after E/T and am continuing it now. It's very relaxing, isn't it? Good luck during your 2WW. It's very hard (I am 1 week and 1 day into mine!!).

Sue Hu ~ You and I both have betas on the same day!!! How many did you transfer? So exciting! Are you going to POAS? I think I am on Thu...

I am in the 2WW with beta on 3/24. I transferred 2 3 day 8 celled embies on 3/10. I am feeling very hopeful and excited!

Take care everyone!
