Awaiting Treatment

DH was away on a business trip this week. Just got back today - quite late. He's exhausted so went to bed early, leaving me all by myself on the computer!

Well, I've found a new distraction. I've been spending a lot of time being domesticated! I've been spending a lot of time cooking. Actually I'm quite proud of all the meals I've dished up this week. And apart from that I've been cleaning our house with a vengeance! Since starting tmt in Nov, DH has been helping around a fair bit. But this week, I've cleaned up the whole house top to bottom by myself and quite proud of myself. I guess its my way of distracting myself from the pain - or an outlet for my frustration, Dunno? DH joked that he didn't realise that tmt would turn me into Nigella Lawson. I have been spending ALL my evenings after work on housework. But seriously he doesn't know whether he should be worried or just let me carry on.

Ok will go and find something else to do now. Just can't sleep!!!

Umm.... Steph, that actually sounds sooo tempting. I'd love to escape from here for a bit. Been telling DH that I want to go into hiding for a few days (or months). And in my current domesticated mode I'll have your house clean and make your turtle princess some lovely meals every day. Its a deal! Yaaay!

Have I lost it? I'm excited about cleaning and cooking?

Think I'm more broke - had real trouble finding my wrist pulse for long enough to time it so I did my neck as well, does that work Hope?
Both came out faster on the left.

Will try to catch up with personals later but just wanted to let you know I had the anatomy scan yesterday and everything looks great. Baby was going crazy during the scan so the sonographer had to keep chasing him/her around to view everything. It was so amazing the detail that you can see.
I resisted the temptation to find out the sex so will just have to keep guessing.
I'll try to post pics in a few days - need to get access to a scanner again as mine's broken.

38 days of downreg is ok to do. Usually downreg injections don't have much side effects. Its the stimming thats got the side effects. Yeah, long down reg means a delay in your tmt, and I agree that can be daunting and probably frustrating. But at least you are on your way.

My RE explained that downreg is a way of letting them control our cycle rather than nature. Because the NHS have limited funding for infertility tmt, they try to schedule EC for the same day every month/ week (varies from area to area). So they usually work backwards after scheduling a group of women on the same day. So while you have to downreg for 38 days, it is possible that some women in your cycle will have a few more/ less days than you. Once you have been downregulated, stimming starts 12-14 days before EC date.

For the gals across the pond, this is normal practise on the NHS - when the govt pays for the tmt. They have limited budgets for infertility as its not high priority. Which is why a lot of people get started in March as thats when the PCTs want to use up any extra cash they have before year end for non-urgent procedures. Becky, don't get me wrong, I'm not endorsing the practise, just trying to explain it in my own dumb way! We personally got so fed up of the way the system works that we have gone the private route - still no idea when my turn will come up!

I knew that i had to work around their schedule as im not paying this is the NHS go - im just concerned that i have to inject for that long i was bad enuff last time on 21 days - Brian says i'm gonna be a nightmare now lol Think of all the bruses i'm gonna end up with ive worked it out (i know i shouldnt but i cant help it lol) that all in all, with every injection im taking, i have to inject 69 times!

But as u can see from the list, that Andreak60 got her BFP on her first ever go at IUI She is still in shock, she said that after POAS for the last 5 years, she has NEVER seen a BFP so has to keep checking its correct

Hope everyone else is doping well - anyone up to anything nice this bank holiday weekend? Brian is working today, but off on Monday - so we are gonna go and do summit nice to celebrate my first injection too lol ...

I made a couple of changes to the list - Nic is on meds now for FET scheduled 4/4 and my test date is 3/31 (officially, anyway)

Mir - I am so sorry, I keep thinking about you and DH and saying a little prayer that things straighten out with his job situation, but I keep neglecting to write to you!! I'm sorry, dear. I hope things are looking better now, if not, very, very soon. This economy is getting nutso. I work for the government, and they are cutting budgets like CRAZY. Right now, I dont' know of any jobs they are cutting, but they are certainly not filling any empty ones and they've said that our annual raises will be cut in 1/2. Hang in there, dear. Let us know how things are going. I just hope and pray it all works out soon and your tmt will not have to be delayed. Thinking of you, sweetie.

I'm here......and sorry.....SO very sorry Although, it honestly doesn't look like I'v missed much!!! (wow!!!!) I can remember days where we'd fill 10 pages in a single day!!!!! Anyway.... been crazy-busy w/ job --- boss has left on a medical leave and while we knew it was "coming" --- it happend sooner than even SHE thought -- so i've been mad w/ crash-courses on learning how to do all the stuff she assigned to me in her absence!!!!! By the time i get home, i honestly don't want to even LOOK at a stupid computer (after working on one all day!!!) NOT TO MENTION that it is still broken from youngest son's little porno escapade!!!!!!!! I vowed to NOT fix it......figured dh can do it!!! Honestly........

Hello all!! I am back and in bed with the pillows underneath my butt. We transferred three grade 2 8 cell embryos this morning. They were an hour late so My bladder was KILLING me by the time I got back there. They let me pee a little bit before though.

It was soo cool seeing my babied being squirt into my uterus. So now I am officially scared. I am going to keep up the PMA, but now scared.

I will be around all day so looking forward to hearing from you all.
