Hi DrJen, seems your cycle dates and mine are almost same.. I am also starting my Lupron from this Sunday.....

Do let us know how the infertility Cd goes and share some knoweldge with us too... regarding accupuncture even I have heard that many people like to do it to increase the success rates but no evidence as such...

Hope it goes well for all of us ...

SD~ The Lupron goes in the belly. All of my meds go in the belly except for the progesterone which goes in the bum/hip area. I hate the belly shots cause I ahte seeing Hubby giving them to me. The bum ones are the best since I don't see the needle coming at me!

How is everyone doing?

Where is everyone from?

SD, when we went in for our IVF intro class, they said the Lupron could be injected in the belly, thigh, or upper arm. My DH is also diabetic, so he takes similar shots all day. So I will have a pro at home giving me shots! And JesJes, I'm like you. I'm fine with shots and needles as long as I don't have to see them.

Yellow - Yes, Jamaica! Me and DH actually just got married on Easter Sunday, so it will be for our honeymoon! We figured a little relaxation would be nice before this hectic IVF thing!

So does anyone have any news, updates? Hope you are all doing good.

I'm in and from North Carolina. How bout everyone else?

Hey My Dear Fertile Turtles!

Glad to see we have such a great group.

Jharris- Enjoy Jamaica!! I was gonna be out of town when my AF arrived, but I switched my plans b/c I have to get CD3 labs drawn and was nervous to miss it. ugh, I feel like this is ruling my life! I'm really glad you are taking the trip, we should all be spoiling ourselves rotten for putting up with all this!

JessJess- thanks for the info about the injections, it helps so much to know what's coming. You are a total rock star with our list! How many more days of lupron or does it all depend on the u/s and b/w?

Dr.Jen- Yoga and Lupron evening, huh? What more could a woman ask for in her life? ;)

Yellow- always best to stick with what works! Glad to know we'll all be so close together. Hopefully will be celebrating all BFPs on our Beta days. together too!

To my other cycle sisters- Sameera, Courtney and Amber- hope all is well with you too!

I'm doing pretty well today, not thinking about my empty womb to much today. I'm from San Diego, so we are having some beautiful weather here too which is keeping my spirits up. DH and I are house hunting so that's distracting me too. I always joke that I'm really glad we're doing this at the same time so I can alternate my ruminating obsessions between a baby and a house!
Me-34- 1 tube shy of a pair
DH 33- 6% morphology
TTC- since 1/07
IVF 5/2008-- BFP! (joy to the world)
DS born 1/25/09
planned FET mid-November 2010
still tryin' in the meantime!

Hello All, looks like i'll be joining you..,.I hope this is ok.
Well, I had my first bfn on my first ivf round. So i was pretty devastated. My fallopian tubes were my only problem and now that they were taking care of, I figured it wouldn't be hard to get prenant as it wasn't in the past.
Anyway, I had trf 2 8 celled embryos on day 3, considered perfect by the RE, but nothing came of it. a girl on another board, had 2 trf on day 3 also and she had 4 cell and 6 cell and got a nice beta number. So, I guess it goes to show, perfect isn't always perfect.

I go back to my doc hopefully within a week or so to determine what actually went wrong or what could've been done differently. As hard as it is to admit it just wasn't my time. that wasn't God's plan for me that time around. I mean, things seemed to have gone as smooth as possible so i thought this was it.

I'm considering of doing another fresh cycle, we do have one frozen. that made it too blast. I was thinking, every time I got pregnant those little ones just snuggled into my fallopian tube and the medium they use in the petri dish is similiar to what is found in the fallopian tube, so I FEEL as though if the other two would've stayed in there longer it could've been it. The one frozen, was the one behind the two...what a coincidence right? LOL

anyway, I hope to join this board and when I have my visit with my doc, i'll let you all know the tentative dates.

Welcome, wantamiraclebaby! I had tubal problems, too, and now my tubes have been removed. Actually, I had one tube left when I had my successful IVF. Attempt #2 with no tubes was not successful. It seems luck always plays a factor. I wish we had more control over the situation -- "Do everything right and it will work!" Unfortunately, that's not always the case. :?

I'm trying to cut back on caffeine now. I did that with my other 2 cycles since I've read that caffeine can interfere with fertility, but I LOVE coffee. This part is really hard for me. Harder than the shots! Anybody else trying to give it up?

I'm from Chicago, but we'll be moving to Champaign, Il this summer. We're going to rent so I don't have the stress/excitement of house hunting.

SD, keep me posted on your house hunting. I like to live vicariously through my friends who are looking because I love house hunting. :)

Good Morning !!! It snowed here last night, so wierd since it never snows in Seattle and its almost April!!!!!

Anyhow,

Welcome Wantmiraclebaby! When you get your schedule let me know and I'll add you to the list!!

SD~ I stay on Lupron until the day of trigger. So I still have a while on that..at least until April 14th. I start Menopur & Follistm next week!

Yellow~ I stop the caffiene too. It is hard, I slowly have switched to decaf tea actually. I still have a cup of coffee here and there but the decaf tea does fool me into thinking its gonna wake me up! LOL

How is everyone else this Saturday morning?
Jessica

Amber28, I've done the lupron shot in the thigh and the follistim in the belly. For me, the thigh hurts less, but, as they say, everyone is different.

For the caffeine thing, they say one to two cups of coffee is ok, but since I've read it affects fertility, I'm trying to cut it out altogether. I'll switch to one cup of black tea (about half the caffeine of coffee) and then one cup of green tea (about half the caffeine of black tea) and then nothing. :( Like so many things with IVF, I guess you have to do what seems right to you. If it would stress you more to give up tea, then don't. If drinking it would stress you out because you'd worry about the caffeine (that's me!) then it might be wise to give it up. That's my thoughts anyway.

jharris, congrats on your wedding! Sorry I forgot to mention it before. What a fun time for you!

Jharris-Congrats on the wedding! Have a great honeymoon! Relax :)
I'm from Southern Illinois--very rural area--obviously, since I have to go to St Louis to see my RE.

SDtrying-Well, I didn't do my yoga DVD until today. My DH had laser assisted uvuloplasty Thursday, so I had to take care of him until today. Normally, he does all of the cooking :) Good luck with the house hunting--great to have something besides IVF to think about!

I did enjoy the fertiltiy yoga DVD I got on Amazon. I've never done yoga, so some of the moves I was not great at, but I found it to be relaxing. There is a part where they tell you to chant--ok, not into that!

Sameera-I started Lupron Friday night! Glad it went well for you--good job. We're that much closer to getting pregnant :D

wantamiraclebaby-I know how you feel. My first IVF cycle resulted in a BFN. We transferred 2 great blasts--the RE doing the transfer said one was the most beautiful she'd ever seen. I'm with you that perfect is not always perfect. My RE says the chances are 50% each cycle, not 100%. I kept thinking there was something wrong with me. He said nothing was wrong and no reason to change my protocol b/c everything went great. Up to the BFN that is  Anyway, I'm a control freak and all of this is so out of our control. Hang in there with me.

Yellow-Hi! I'm with you on the caffeine. My DH makes great coffee every morning--I had a big cup this am, but I am stopping as of tomorrow. I have a cabinet full of herbal teas that I drank last cycle. I'll be trying those again :) Are you looking forward to moving to Champaign? That's about 4 hours from me.

JesJes-I can't believe it snowed! It has been cold in IL too--I'm ready for Spring. Thanks again for the list.

Amberb-I agree with Yellow on the caffeine thing. Good luck with the Lupron. It's not that bad. I've only given it in my stomach--it helps if I pinch my skin tight.

Have a good weekend :)

Thanks ladies for the welcome. It can be soooooo hard to go through your first IVF cycle with so much hope and have it fail. I do my best to remain in Faith, but I think I truly lost it when I had my bfn. but, i knew like i said, it wasn't my time. But i pray either this fresh cycle or the FET will be much and we can get on with our lives onto some beautiful babies. LOL.

Yeah, that is messed DrJen that your doc didn't change your protocol? well it may not be messed up, it may be the best protocol for you and just wasn't it. Soemtimes it makes you wonder why some IVF cycles work and others don't. I mean you would think with perfect blasts you would've at least had one embryo that stuck right?

Well thanks again for the welcome and I hope that this board is on the roll for April/May and we all get what we want out of this. a successful pregnancy.

Yellow--when you had your daughter did you do a 3dt? I think you did. b/c I had a post regarding a poll asking if anyone did a 3dt and what were there results. I had to change my name b/c tooooooo many snoopers on here trying to keep track of you. LOL not the folks on the boards, but people I KNOW.
